We bought new book shelves today. That made me feel a bit better. We will have to store them until the construction is finished, but they were only on sale until tomorrow, and I would stop breathing if I had to pay full retail for anything.

We filled out insurance forms today. We needed to print some extra copies, so the adjuster emailed them to us. The workers pulled our printer out from the storage bin. Unfortunately the power cord was packed in another box. We emailed the form to church, and the secretary there is going to print them for us. They told us that anything we needed, they'd help with. We've had to use the fax several times.

Filling out the forms was hard beyond just trying to remember where we bought something, when, and for how much. The cleanup crew made a list of everything they deemed damaged. What really got me was they put two hand crocheted afghans my mom made me when I was in the wheelchair into the damaged bin. They were on my bed, and never touched the water, so I have no idea why they did it. My husband is going to call to see if he can get them to take them out of the bin, and let me wash them.

If that's the only thing I lose that matters, I will survive. I kept all my important papers, my photos, and all my sewing patterns. Even if I can't keep the afghans, I can keep the memories. Those are waterproof.

As a matter of fact it is TOM, worse then normal too. I wish this were the majority of my issues this week.

My landlord and I have gotten into a HUGE argument and he wants me to leave. Mind you, my rent is paid but I am not in a lease any longer and NC laws are more for the landlord then the tenant. The lawyer, the sheriff and the attorney general all say leave and sue him. They have no clue how hard it is to leave when you have six dogs to take with you.

I go in the morning to see about a place that I really dont want but it is better then where I am and I know the landlord personally. She is a good landlord. I don't want it because its $100 more, has a water and gas bill and is very close to the in-laws.... ugggg... I want it because its twice the size of where we are now and a good landlord.

I wanted to stop today after talking to everyone and get a large pizza and gorge.... but I didn't, instead I just cried and started packing.

I hate drama and my life seems full of it for the last couple of years.

Day 2 was today and it seemed a bit easier, but my legs were burning through every jog interval except the first. Also, my knees were feeling sore Monday night and all of Tuesday. They feel good today, though.

The scale still isn't moving and I'm not sure why. I'm adding 30 minutes of good excercise 3 days per week, I should at least be dropping a pound. I think I'm going to start doing some arm workouts on my non-C25k days. I'm usually out and about being active anyway, but I want to build some upper body strength.

When you exercise, your muscles will hold onto water while healing....muscles get tiny tears when you use them and they need to heal. Hang in there, the weight will eventually let go.

G'morning my Peeps!

Aw Neon, I'm sorry you had a horrid day. I'd get a taser and zap that bum next time he blocked me. I know it must have been bad to see someone hit the cyclist, but you were an angel to stay and help. I hope you are resting better now after a good night's sleep.

Catherine, I'm hoping you get the afghans back. Yay for new bookshelves!! Also wonderful is that your photos and sewing patterns are saved.

Grumps, peace of mind where you live is worth $100 + having extra room with 6 doggies.

Million, w00t w00t! It's real, you are under 300!

Shadow, keep an eyeball on those knees. Yay for your butt kicking!! hehe.

Cyn, I have a sensitive tummy when it comes to raw veggies. Best to stay away from them.

Each day for me is better. I take the goldens camping this weekend. Man, is it HOT. Cyn.. I dunno how you stand it!!

Hugs,
Ratkity

Oh, feeling much better today! Thanks :)
I definitely needed a good night's sleep, by the time I posted lastnight I was utterly exhausted. I just hate living here so much but I have another month to stick it out... I love my job, and I have some good friends up here, but that's not enough to make up for absolutely hating the city you live in.
So today, with the exception of one errand I need to run, I'm staying home all day... inside, trying to forget I'm in Ottawa at all.

Snagging pics...

YEP that is what I have been doing. On Facebook..snagging pics of Ayva. Everytime my sons ex posts a new one..I snag it and add to my page. It is really sad that I have to watch her grow up this way..but it is better then nothing. The EX turns 18 July 16th. If she does not contact my son...off to a lawyer we go.

Yesterday I helped my brother sign up online for classes at a local college. The same one my son is going to. I could tell he was getting frustrated cause he has no clue how to do finaid or anything. So I helped him through it.

I will be glad when it is friday...I am thinking of going up to the mountains with my son just for the day on saturday. We have never taken a trip together and it is suppose to be 110 all weekend :( There is a fire near flagstaff so I can't go there will have to e another city.

Rat: I CANT stand the heat..lol. I have been doing it my whole life..soon maybe will be somewhere cooler.

Neon: I so get living in a city that you HATE!!

Million: Are you using a yoga video???? If so which one? I have been looking for one that is geared towards over weight people cause the ones I have tried I can't do.

Hi everyone!

I just wanted to come around and introduce myself. I joined the site a few days ago. :D

My name is Michelle and I am 24! I have a 3yr old daughter who will be 4 in October. Her father and I have been divorced for over two years. I have met a wonderful man and we have been dating for a while, we plan to get married next summer. My daughter and I are from Dallas, Tx and moved up to Michigan about a year ago. We moved to be closer to my fiances family.

I have always struggled with my weight. Before I got married I was at 260lbs and started the South Beach Diet and walked/jogged 5x a week and got down to 227 the day before the wedding. I was happy with my body at that weight. But I know since I've had a kid, it won't look the same when I get there again, lol! I have set mini-goals for the rest of this year. You can see them on my 3FC Diet Blog. My ultimate goal weight is 157!! That's almost 200lbs I have to lose. Seems daunting in a big number like that, so I feel mini-goals are super important.

Anyway, hope to get to know you all. :D

Torti, great to see you sneak in. I know you are there lurking!!

Air hugs to all - cuz I be sweaty,
Ratkity

I know that if you upload a pic to Photobucket, you can edit the size to however small you want it. I do that all the time.

Hello folks!

Today is a day all to myself for the most part. My fiance stayed at home and I'm enjoying some me time. Later I'll be going out for dinner or drinks with a good friend who is stationed in Ohio in the Air Force. She's visiting for a few days with her husband before he gets deployed to Djibouti. Hopefully she'll let me know where we're going tonight before I leave the house, so I can research some dinners ahead of time.

I tried a fabulous new recipe for lunch. I made a curry tuna salad. Mmmm! I actually posted a recipe for it here. Who knew that raisins taste good with tuna? I also decided to start using an online calorie tracker to help me keep track of my calories. I'm using MyPlate at Livestrong.com. It has a nice database. I've also decided to change my calorie goal from 1800 to 1600 and see if I get better results.

Rat - it's funny you should mention tasing people, because just yesterday, they showed a thief getting tased at a local mall on the news.

cyn - that is how I watch my nephew grow. My brother has decided he's too good for most of the family and never comes around for anything. Not even Christmas. Back in March, my parents finally had it with trying to schedule a visit with him and his wife and took back all their Christmas presents. So I just get to see photos of my nephew pop up on facebook now and then.

Tor - I did read that muscles swell and hold onto water while they're healing, I just figured it would have made a difference by now!

grumpy - I know all about weird landlords. My fiance had one who would call ten times a day starting about 10 days before rent was due and ask if he was going to pay it on that particular day. He had my cell number, too, and I'd get the calls as well. Rent was paid by being deposited into a bank account, and if he paid on a Friday, it wouldn't be credited to the account until Monday, and we'd end up getting calls all weekend saying the rent wasn't showing up as paid yet. Ugh.

Texas - welcome!

HORSE FEATHERS>>>>

Since I'm trying to walk everyday my knee has been quite painful and swollen. So the doctor thought we should get an MRI and make sure I didn't tear or break something when I fell 3 weeks ago. Three hospitals and 6 outpatient MRIs tell me I am too fat to use their machines.

Last month a friend who raises steeple and dressage horses (jumpers and dancers) had an MRI on her 1200 pound horse's knee. So I call the vet clinic and they tell me their insurance won't allow them to use their machines on people for safety reasons.

I guess I'll just hop on one leg.

HAPPY FRIDAY EVE to everyone.

Lindy
