Sorry to hear about Ratkitty's episode but glad to hear she is doing better.

We are ending our first day of real life changing choices. It was good. I don't feel well though. I have a fever and low pulse rate, though my 0xygen has been okay. But it is a miracle to have Dear Husband on board. I know he's still not sure I'll stick to it this time, but he said he was impressed that i was eating cold food out of my little fridge when he was eating burgers and pizza from fast food places.

Blessings - Lindy

Sending some love to the both of our Ratkittens before I head to bed. That sounds like it was awfully scary, but I'm glad you guys got some snuggle time. That never hurts :) Thinking of you both.

And also, Lindy, I'm glad your husband is seeing the value in your choices, despite being somewhat skeptical. Every time you stick to your plan you prove your committment to yourself and your family. Good for you :)

Going to bed lovelies, talk to you all soon. Hope you all had successful days, but if not tomorrow is a new day with no mistakes in it yet!

Ratkitten – So sorry evilkitty was sick…glad she she’s recovering. :)

Lindy – Happy to hear you are sticking to your plan. The fast food isn’t healthy for DH even if he doesn’t have a weight problem. Maybe he will see the light and start eating healthier too…sure would make it easier.

Yesterday should have been W1D3 of C25K for me but I had this fluttery feeling in my chest from lunchtime til almost bed time...is it possbile to OD on avacado? That was the only thing different than usual at lunch. I had a lot of avacado on my salad...more than I've ever had at one time before. Could have just been a coinky-dink....idk. I feel pretty yucky today, but the flutter is gone, thank goodness. I've rescheduled W1D3 for Thursday, today and Thursday should have been rest days. I can't make it up today due to my schedule. Anyhow, anywho...Hope everyone is doing well, it's quiet on the thread the past day or two.

Hello everyone!

I've had a good week so far. Monday I did my C25K and was able to complete the whole 20 minutes! Actually, I ended up going for 23 minutes, because I had to add a minute to my walking intervals a few times to deal with that pesky cramp in my side. What is that cramp from, anyway? I went swimming yesterday, and did more C25K today, and only had to add one extra minute to my program. My hamstrings were pretty sore on Tuesday, so I made sure I did extra stretches today. Jogging is getting easier now. I think I will end up repeating week one of C25K once or twice before moving on to week two.

I ended up cooking for my parents yesterday and made little baked onion blossoms, which my mother absolutely adored, along with baked potatoes and barbequed chicken. We have a very special barbeque recipe that tastes amazing but no one one ever believes what's in it - strawberry jelly and ketchup!

TRIPPING OVER MY CLOTHES!!!

Warm thoughts to everyone - so proud of all of you striving to take care of yourselves and allowing me to believe I am allowed to do the same.

I tripped over my dress today. we noticed that the size 6x dresses are kind of hanging on my shoulders and they seem to be getting longer.

Tomorrow I get to weigh at the doctor. I don't have a scale at home that weighs high enough. Last time I saw the doctor I was 467.4. I am working on a mini-goal of 449. So hoping tomorrow will be the first step.

Lindy

Sorry I've been AWOL. We had a flood. A pipe burst in the wall between our bedroom closet and dining room. By the time we got home, everything we owned was wet. The insurance company has been great, at least so far. I don't trust them though. They moved in a big storage bin, emptied our house out, sent us to a hotel, and are ripping out the carpets and drywall. Once all the potentially moldy stuff is gone, and all dry, we get to move back in, while they make repairs. Computer access may be sketchy for awhile.

Glad to be here!

Hi all! - I'm new to this site and would like to join in. I've been lurking around for quite awhile and have enjoyed reading all of your posts and getting to know you. I think this just the kind of support that I need - from other people who are dealing with the same issues that I am! I'm typically a pretty private person and it's shocking the heck out of me that I actually decided to join!:^:

A little about me - I've been overweight my whole life. I was the chubby kid that got made fun of all the time - lovely. It really affected how I act around people. I've been on most diets out there at some point in my life, but nothing ever stuck. I would lose some weight and then gain it and then some back. A few years ago I was diagnosed with Diabetes and lost about 20 pounds. For some reason things just weren't clicking with me and I didn't lose any more weight. More recently (around Feb.) I got back into the swing of things and have slowly been losing weight/excercising. It's hard! but I'm sticking to it this time!

As a matter of fact I am pretty proud of myself today. I've been thinking of going to my local pool and swimming laps for excercise. I love to swim but have avoided doing it because I have issues being in public in my swim suit! Anyway - I sucked it up and marched down there and even though I was nervous - I swam for an hour and loved it! The only downside is that the pool is going to be closed for construction for July and August. I'm hoping this gave me courage to go try another pool somewhere else!

So - I'm looking forward to getting your support and giving MY support to all of you. - You are ALL an inspiration to me.

*wiggling in for a sec*

I hate these quick posts, I want to read everyones post and reply with personals, but just as I start my friggin' phone rings so now I'm waiting for a call back. lol...never ends.

I'm starting a new challenge for myself, a 30 Day Makeover, where I have rules and goals. Rules are like no weigh-ins, no whines, no excuses, no lazy days...etc. Goals are weight loss, confidence regain, change of attitude, activity routine...things like that. I'm going for 100% raw food with juice...wooooo...we'll see. I have planned out juicy days and non juicy days so I don't go crazy. :)

My weight has gone up to 290, which sucks, but I'm also really bloated these days. I think all the starches and foods do not set with me well. However the point of my makeover is to reboot myself fully and not fuss about numbers on a scale. I can do this! :) I've had 6 months of struggling and I'm wanting to move on. I do struggle with depression, just my living situation and things, but I'm wanting to keep busy and move on.

I'm still working on my site and projects, hoping to get things moving. Doing a "Walk Away The Pounds" workout today in an hour or so. Hopefully that will be fun! :D

*HUGS TO EVERYONE* I hope everyone is well. I'll be around more and more as I get more done on my site and business startup.

Lindy: Thats great that your clothes are getting bigger!!! Good luck with the weigh in today.

Catherine: oh no that flood sounds horrible! A friend of mine had that happen about 2 years ago when we had a freakish hail storm and it make their roof cave in. They were in a hotel for 2 months! BUT it was a nice hotel and all their meals were paid for as well. I hope they get your house done quickly!

Snuzbee: welcome to the group! if support is what ya want..you will get it here!

Jacquie: your 30 day plan sounds great!

As for me: Yesterday we went and seen the A-team. It was ok. As a child from the 80's, I still love the old show. My friend/coworker at work is turning 50 in august. I am making a book for her. Sort of a scrapbook mini. It will have pics of alot of the things she grew up with. I have known her 10 years so I know the things she played with and love. Yesterday hubby and I went to a scrapbook store and OMG I am in love!! The lady was so nice. I just love shopping at loacl stores like that instead of places like Joanns. You just get to know people. HUbby said he loved the old stuff they had in their. Vintage things you can scrap with. I will post pics when I am done with the book.

Well off to work again today :) Hope all have a great day!

Hello mah peeps!

Thank you for the hugs and well-wishes for ebil kitteh and I. She has rallied and was eating better this morning. We go for fluids tomorrow and she will be weighed at the vet. It is how we are measuring her decline. She averages about a quarter pound of weight loss every 10 days. She's still feisty and wants to go outside and sit on the porch. I think I had a worse day on Tuesday than she did. For those who don't know, Ratkity (my namesake) has chronic renal failure and is almost 16 yrs old. She gets fluids 2x a week at the vet and a shot of pepsid when her tummy is too upset to eat.

Welcome to the new people~~~

OMG Catherine - I hope your flood is resolved soon and things are back to normal. I know it's hard to concentration when stuff is in flux.

Hugs to all,
Ratkity

Shadow – Congrats on your progress with C25K! … What is a baked onion blossom? … I’ve heard of grape jelly, but not strawberry….yum-o! :T

Lindy – Becareful! You are shrinking out of your clothes though! That is awesome! Can’t wait to hear the good news from the doctor! :goodscale

Catherine – Oh my! I’m so sorry to hear that happened. But at least the insurance company is being good so far. Some parts of the repairs are very dusty…especially the drywall, so you may want to see if they will allow for temporary housing during some of the repairs. Also something to watch out for is all the dust that can get in your heat/air system…mold too. I just went through this from hurricane repairs, well actually still finishing, but these are things that we have found to be issues and I though you might benefit from a heads-up. Good luck! :dizzy:

Snuzbee – Welcome! Glad you decided to join! … Congrats on your weight loss thus far…I see you’ve lost 50 lbs, that’s awesome! Did you loose all of that since February? … I hope you find another pool that you like. If you could do it at one, then you can do it another. :swim:

Jacquie – Sounds like a month of detox...maybe that’s what you need to get your weight loss moving again. You’re braver than I am though, I don’t know that I could do a raw diet. My mom has tried it and liked it. I love that you are making this month about health goals not just weight! WTG! … Maybe I missed this, or maybe it was said before I joined, but what kind of business and website are you starting? :comp:

Cyn – The scrapbook sounds so sweet…you are such a good friend, so thoughtful! I love gifts like that, something really personal, it means so much more than some general item picked up from the store. I feel the need to hug you…I know weird…I must be a bit emotional today.

Ratkitten – I had no idea about Ratkitty. I’m so sorry to hear that…words just aren’t adequate. I’m sure she takes great comfort in having her best friend tend to her needs with so much care.

I’m not going to say I’ve been POP for the past 2 days, but I have been at or under my calories. I’m excited about tonight’s C25K workout. Tuesday was my scheduled day but I had a weird day of heart fluttering, never had that before, so I rescheduled for today. Today the running bumps up from 2 minutes to 3 minutes, but I think I’ll be able to do it. Well…that’s about it for me at the moment. Hope everyone is having a great day and ready for a fantastic weekend! :beach:

FIRST MINI-GOAL MET -

Good Doctor visit - if there is such a thing. I'm down to 440, so I've lost 57 pounds since I started this weight loss journey - below my 450 mini-goal.
Now, I need to decide if I should set my next mini-goal to lose another 50 or 25. I know that quite a bit of this first 50 is fluid loss.

I'm trying to figure out how to put one of those cute little trackers on my posts.

Blessings - Lindy

neonwildflower 06-18-2010 06:14 AM

Congrats Lindy! You're making great progress :) Personally I like to celebrate more small goals than fewer big goals. Why not celebrate a lot, right?! Very proud of you!

voodoo1 06-18-2010 09:12 AM

LINDY WTG!!!!!!! I am So pleased AND happy for you, what does your hubby & son think? wish I could drop 57lbs!! I can't put it into words but I am smiling so much thinking of what a difference this this weightloss is doing and going to do for your quality & length of your life.xxxxxxxx
