Hi guys!
I was just wondering if any of you suffered from constant illness/lowered immune system too?
This winter alone I have had "flu-type" illness about 7-8 times, badly enough that I was throwing up/had fever/sore throat at least half the times, and the others I felt sick enough that I couldn't go to school because I felt like I was going to faint.
I am already on Synthroid, so I don't think it's thyroid-related. I last had blood tests about a year ago and everything was fine.
Could it be weight-related? From poor eating habits? From not keeping my apartment clean enough/having 3 dogs? Any thoughts?
It's getting really frustrating because it's hard to get anything done because I am constantly sick. I know it's probably not psychosomatic because of the physical symptoms - fever, throwing up, etc. Also, when I am not sick, I feel extremely tired and run down always.
I can only speak for myself-the more processed food I eat, the sicker I am in the year. Since I've been eating as many natural foods as I can, sick twice this year.
Yeah, it might have something to do with food. Bleh.

I have my thyroid checked ever 6 months per my endocinologist orders. I get fatigued too! I also know when I eat alot of processed food I feel yucky! If you have allergies it could be the dogs. They say the indoor air is worse then ourdoor air..so get outside once in a while. I go out on my back porch sometimes and just stand there lol
You may want to consider taking out grains/gluten...grains lower the immune system from all the research I've read in certain people, hence, Celiac Disease and auto-immune disease. Just a thought, I know since I've elimanated all processed foods I haven't been sick and since getting rid of grains 6 weeks ago I have felt significantly better on the inside. You never know.
It could be a lot of things, including food allergies, or other things. I would explore that with your doctor perhaps? It could also be hormonal, anything...
I was sick, not flu but nausea, for 7 months last year and the reason, my BC pills. I'm now feeling much better as I am on the right pills and my system is liking them. I think it is worth exploring as the symptoms can mean a number of things. It could be something you introduced into your diet, it could be a pill you're taking, it could be an allergy...etc. It is worth exploring.
I've had chronic health, asthma and immunity problems for years (Diagnosed with an autoimmune disease attacking my joints, lungs, and sinus tissues - suspected connective tissue disease).
We discovered by accident that NSAIDs (like ibuprofen, naproxen, relafen....) were causing the asthma symptoms (and maybe the lung scarring also).
Apparently NSAID and aspirin triggered lung issues aren't all that uncommon.
Reducing sugars and grains (I've had too many lapses to say "eliminated") and taking a fish oil and vitamin D supplement has helped my symptoms tremendously (to call it miraculously wouldn't be stretching it).
