The Scale....

  • I weigh and record daily. It helps me see the regular fluctuations in my weight. I only count one day a week as "official" and keep a separate graph for that, but my daily graph is facsinating. Sometimes it's up and (more frequently!) sometimes it's down, but I get to see a steady decrease over time. That way, if I happen to be retaining water on my official weigh in day, I'm not going to get depressed over a gain or small loss - I can see exactly what I've been doing and not get upset over a fluke number.
  • I weigh myself butt naked, right after I wake up and use the bathroom.lol. I try not to weigh myself during the day, since your weight tends to fluctuate throughout. And after I weigh myself, I put the scale away so I won't keep trying to weigh myself all day.
  • I don't even own a scale at this point. I know I'm an obsessive perfectionist person (it's strange how we can be this way, isn't it?) so I keep it out of my house. I just use my clothes as a marker and go somewhere else, outside of my house, to weigh in once a week. Keeps me a little sane!
  • I weigh in daily...It helps me to be more mindful of what my body is doing from day to day, and if there is an aberrant number on the scale on my 'weigh - in' day. I can acknowledge it as such, putting any 'gain' down to fluid retention and don't slump into my 'woe is me' phase, where only Cookies 'n' Cream icecream is my friend. = )
