  • We are a group of individuals who weigh or have weighed 300+, or near there. This group was formed to provide a place for others like us to find support, inspiration, and hope. We are aware of the distinct problems that come with weighing over 300 lbs.

We want to invite everyone (roosters as well as chicks!) to join us in our journey. We share laughter and tears, heartaches and fears ... joys and celebrations. We also share what works for us and what doesn't.

We know the thread can move very quickly, and that people often make "personal" remarks and keep a number of conversations going. Please feel free to contribute even if you can't make personal comments all the time.

Finally, we also have several extra threads going on simutaneously such as Monthly Challenges, Weekly Weigh-ins, Recipes, Bios, Photos, Exercise, Info for Getting Started and more. Many of these threads are stickied at the top of the page. Please feel free to check them all out.

We have found this thread to be more than just a support group... we have found it to become a home. We invite you to join us.
  • morning ladies....

I am up early and HUNGRY!! I am having my gallbladder scan today. They said no food or drink. I am one of those that eat soon after they get up..so not feeling so great this morning.

Catherine: My dad's mom died of ovarian cancer..so that is always on my mind. I won't stop til they find out what is wrong with me for sure.

Brandnewme: Welcome back!! I am sorry about the trouble you have been having.. But remember t we are here for you.

Ok going to go get in the shower and head out...toodles chickies!
  • Well, Monday is weigh-in day for me; I was happy, as I stepped on the scale, and saw a 4 lb. loss. That puts me at a little over 14 lbs since I restarted eating better & exercising on August 5th. And only 16 lbs until I hit my first goal. It put me at 365….which makes me happy, because I’m closer to 350 than 400, which I was slowly sneaking up to before. Whew. My first goal is to get back to 350, which was my original starting weight when I joined 3FC back in 2005.

Cyn – Hope all goes well today!! And get a nice lunch afterwards.
  • Good Morning ladies....i just finished a 5 mile walk and i feel wonderful today! Im gonna do some laundry and tomorrow im gonna clean house cause the inlaws are coming on wednesday to celebrate my husband and mine's 3 year wedding anniversary which is that day ( august 26th) i cant believe its gonna be 3 years..it doesnt seem like its been that long..wow!

I also realized today that i have been on this "lifetime change" ( i dont like to call it a diet) for 2 months now and i have lost 24 lbs in 2 months i would say that is pretty good and i am only 8 lbs away from my first goal which is september 26th so i think i will be able to make it!

Well, have a great day ladies and i will check back later!
    Heather
  • Az - Will Keep you in my prayers
Kayle- Good job on the four pound weight loss
Hbierber- Good job on the walk am trying to get to a mile but one day at a time. I took have laundry and house cleaning to do but not because of anyone coming over but because it has to be done.

I stepped on the scale this morning and gained a pound but I think it might be that TOM coming up as I was really careful with what I ate yesterday so a pound i am not going to stress about. I just want to take it off nice and slow. I am not giving up. I refuse to be the way I was before.Have a good day everyone off to do laundry and clean house now.

  • Morning all,

Brandnewme: Welcome back sweetie. SO glad to see you! I hope that things start to look up for you. I sure wish we were closer so we could take walks and exercise together.

Kayley: Woo hoo on the -4 pounds! that is rockin it.

Cyn: I hope the scan goes well.

HeatherHB: Congrats on your anniversary. I am so impressed at your 5 mile walk too Way to go.

Tracy: Yep. Tom can reek havoc with our bodies. At least you know what is happening. Hugs.

Well, Not much going on here today. I am planning on doing some school work (water aerobics stuff) and maybe go for a swim too. That would be nice to do a drop in on a session of water aerobics. Maybe shake things up for myself. It has been a long time since I did that. Who knows maybe I will go work out at the Kroc Center instead. for only $2 more I can use all of their equiptment not just the pool. I will have to decide what I feel like doing.

    Be blessed all,
    Annie
  • Brandnew-Been there done that. I'm still terrified of falling and not being able to get up without help. I have a pretty bum knee, that's why I stick to the pool. Just remember that any movement helps. At times all I could do was scissor kicks while laying in bed. Just never give up.
  • For anyone that uses the Wii Fit or Wii Active for exercise, I just saw today, that Wii is putting out a Biggest Loser game come this fall. Just thought I’d spread the info!

Was going to go for a hike today with the boy, but he ended up getting sick, so I did an hour of cardio, and a half an hour of strength training. I hope I can still work out as much as I am now when classes start up again on Wednesday. I think I’ll be able to, as long as the homework load isn’t ridiculous like last semester. I’ve got classes every Wednesday, every other Thursday, and every Saturday morning. Yes, a Saturday class. So not looking forward to that one!

Heather hb – Well done! You should join us over in the exercise thread!!

Tracy – That’s the right mentality. Don’t let the scale define you! Also, you ate Chinese food the other day, and it’s high in sodium, so that might have contributed to some pesky water weight.
  • Hi all...

Tracy...yeah i am doing cleaning tomorrow for both reasons that it needs to be done and that im having company. The 5 mile walk was hard at first but now that ive done it a couple of times it isnt as hard to do-im actually amazed at myself cause 2 months ago i just started by doing 2 miles and i had to keep stopping because my back would start hurting to much but now im able to make it all the way thru my workouts but it took me some time to get to that level so dont give up it will get easier!

    Dogpal-Thanks!

kayleystar-i would be happy to join the exercise thread where would i find it?

Not much going on today just did some laundry and just relaxing tonight.

    talk to everyone soon
    Heather
  • heather (bieber) -- The exercise thread is stickied at the top of the 300+ forum! Check it out!!!
  • Thank you Heather!
  • Good evening ladies! Thank you all for the wonderful welcome back.

Cyn - How did the gallbladder scan go?

Kayley - Congrats on your loss so far! That's awesome. What classes are you taking this semester?

Hbieber - Congrats on losing 24lbs. That's awesome too. Wow.. 5 miles?! I'd like to be able to go a mile at this point!

Tracy - Sorry about the gain, but it probably is TOM, or water weight. Keep at it, you'll get there.

Heather - I'm going to hold off on setting a goal until September, but I'll try to start adding some minutes.

Annie - I wish we were closer too! I'd love to exercise together. How have you been lately? Are the panic attacks lessening at all?

Catherine - Thanks for the reminder that I need to just do it, and stop making excuses. I'm still amazed at all you have accomplished, and you've kept a great sense of humor through it all!

Today was an okay day. I am implementing a new documenting system at work, which means a lot of hours in front of the computer trying to get the database worked out and getting the forms made and ready to go. I need to take the time to get up and walk around every once in a while, so that is a goal for tomorrow. I packed my breakfast and lunch today, so that worked out well. Dinner was another story. I managed to scrape by and not go over my calorie goals, but that's not saying a whole lot because I ended up stopping at a fast food place on my way home since it was late. That's another goal for tomorrow - set something out for dinner so I have to cook!

    Have a good night!
  • brandnewme -- For now, look at your successes and cheer them and set new goals for tomorrow. I think sometimes we try to be perfect too much of the time!!

And we'd love to have your minutes!!
  • Brandnewme Good job on your weight loss so far. At one time I was close to four hundred and managed to get to 320 then I was at 310 when I joined the group don't sweat the small stuff but cheer the big stuff.

Kayle- Yeah you are right I did have the chinese food on sat so that is probably that catching up to me.

As for me had a nice day off yesterday did a ton of laundry and then before I knew it, it was time to make dinner. I went for my nightly walk some reason the last two days I haven't felt like walking or doing my toning weight lifting, but I looked at the white box and it got me motivated again.
