Default New to the 300+ Club

Good evening!

I'm new to this board, as I was on the CL Diet Fo' but they are getting a little too snarky for me over there. I went looking for a place where there were more people in my shoes who could actually relate to me.

A little about me... I'm 25 and recently married to a wonderful man I went to high school with. I started my second weight loss journey on July 7th and since then I have gone from 390 to 377. I chose to go with the low-carb way of eating and am trying to look at food more as fuel for my body instead of as an emotional crutch. The last time I chose to do low-carb, I lost 45 pounds in about 10 weeks. I kept most of that off when I met my husband but I'm looking to take off what I gained back plus more!

I think the hardest part for me is my husband to be honest. It kills me to say that, but I know he loves me just how I am. He's a wonderful man and he tries to be supportive, but I know deep down he has some insecurities about me losing weight and all of a sudden deciding I want a "hotter" man as he puts it. So not what's going to happen, but he has his fears.

Mainly, I'm just looking for some buddies to cheer me on as I go. And of course, if you need it, I'll cheer right back to you... but not in a cheerleading uniform for sure!

Also, here is a current picture of me from just about a month ago. That's my sister, me, and my brother at Universal.

Welcome!! I think you've come to the right place!

When I first met my husband I had lost almost 30 pounds and feeling great. He was also obese and I let his lifestyle affect me. I stopped exercising and started eating more like him. I gained back all I had lost and over the years gained a lot more.

He always loved me as I am, too. And I blamed him for my inability to lose. He had no interest in weight loss and it was easy to just go along.

I didn't start to lose until I realized that he wasn't the problem. I was. So what if he made a large, fattening snack every night? I didn't have to eat it. I was successful when I realized I was responsible for my eating and exercise, not him. Today, both of us have more to lose, but we are both maintaining large weight losses.

These issues don't sound the same as yours, but I throw it out so you can see some hope of getting past them.

welcome! And feel free to check out our weekly thread, too!

Gypsie is such a cool name. Were your parents hippies? lol
I'm not married, but I know a lot (if not most) married people are worried about their SO trading up when they lose weight. Hopefully in the end he'll be supportive and not subconciously try to sabotage you.

Good luck! 3FC is a great forum! Not many snarks here.

Smile Hello Gypsie

There must be something in the air because, I decided too, that I needed a change. This is my very first post and it's all still really new for me. I hope you feel like I do. Excited and a little scared. Like we are about to go on the biggest roller coaster in the world and everybody is cheering and excited for us, too. I know we can do it!
