Good Morning all...i just have a quick question for you...i have a habit of stepping on the scale every morning ( just to see how i am doing) well yesterday was my official weigh in day and i weighed 311.7 but today when i stepped on the scale it said 309.7 and i stepped on the scale 3 times and got that same reading now my question is...i have done alot of outside work this week plus my regular exercise so do you think that the hard work you do one week wont reflect on the scale until next week? im just asking cause i only lost 1.6 lbs yesterday when i weighed in so if todays weigh in holds true and maybe i lose a little more before friday then maybe all the work i did this week is going to reflect on the scale next friday-am i making any sense? im just wondering what your guys thoughts were on this.

sorry my post was so long!

for me today is straightening up house, doing a leslie sansone 5 mile walk and then going to dinner with my g/f to chili's later.

have a great day everyone! Sorry no personals i will try my next post im just geting the hang of all this!

Oy my cat is "exploring"...driving me nuts! I'm trying to type, but she is mewing because she is stuck...now I have to go get her lol. I love cats! lol

I stepped on the scale last night, well afternoon (not the best time, but I was curious) and it said 281 and I gave out a big sigh lol. Then I stepped on the scale this morning and I was 278, so I'm HOPING that is the TOM swelling, bloating, crap weight and if it IS then that is great because last month it was about 280-283...I haven't started yet, I feel like yelling at my body to say "START START," but I was SOOOOOOOO fatigued yesterday and crampy...and swelling...you know being a woman is just plain annoying at times. lol

Luckily my BC pills are settling in nicely now. Thank you ORTHO and not Trinessa. I feel better, except I am tired, but I'm experimenting. I've decided to use the next two weeks to have FUN and really step into my life. Live it and I think I'm ready for that. I have been piddling about for far too long, so I really want to just dive in now and get going. Going to experiment with food and recipes and just have fun doing it.

I hope everyone is well. *HUGS*

Heather -- All sorts of things affect our weight! Remember the scale weighs ALL of you - not just your fat! We get on the scale and whether it goes up, down or stays the same, it doesn't necessarily reflect our weight loss efforts from the day before. You might have lost a little fat but be retaining extra water, so the scale will be up, but really your fat is down...

I *try* not to worry about the daily fluctuations, and use the scale as one measure of my progress. How my clothes fit are another good measure...

I started doing my situps again this morning. I had stopped because of lots of reasons that no longer apply. I'm not going to try to add anything else at this point. Baby steps. Once I get really used to them again to where they are a habit again, then I'll try to add or subtract something else.

Thanks Heather! When i step on the scale everyday it helps me to keep focus on my goal if it is down then i know im eating right but if it is up then i know to up the water intake and maybe cut down on extra carbs if i have been eating too many but lately i try to keep my carbs down to a minimum but thank you for your advice i appreciate it! :)

I am officially flummoxed now. After I quit dieting (calorie counting) and started just eating whatever, including fudge, until I was full, the weight is starting to drop off quickly. I have no idea what I am doing right. I was not even exercising until I finally got on the bike today. I am happy to surf this wave and it is sweet to see that scale start to act like a friend after months of fustration.

AZCYN: Are you getting any rain? They are calling it the Nonsoon here because it is so dry and has rained only half of the usual amount. It is just really hot but the weather folks say we might get a lot of rain this winter because of El Nino. That would be marvelous.

azcyn 08-15-2009 04:28 PM

Pennie: We got rain one day this week..a pretty decsent soaking. BUT not the monsoons like when I was a kid!!!!!

They say the rim is getting it. A cold rainy winter would be awesome!!!

Maybe if we HOPE really hard..we will get some rain!!

I know alot of people that LOVE this HOT dry weather! I am NOT one of those people!!

Here's to hoping for rain!

Hello everyone! I hope you all had a great Saturday! I spent most of the day working out, and then relaxing, and playing some games on the Wii with Andrew. I made the mistake of eating regular popcorn today, instead of the 100 calorie bags I keep at my house, since I was at his house. A lot of unnecessary calories, but at least it didn’t put me over my goal for the day. I’m actually still about 800 below what I should be. I need to get in a snack before I go to bed, but it’s just so hard for me to EAT that much. Heh.

Hbier2006 – (is there something you’d prefer to be called?) I’m from Southwestern Michigan. I’m about 10 mins from the Indiana/Michigan border. Near a larger area (St. Joseph/Benton Harbor). Ever heard of them?

The scale fluctuates so much from day-to-day; I used to weigh every morning, like you, just to see how I’m doing, and kind of keep tabs on myself, but it would get me down if I was up even .2 lbs, so I had to stop. Just weigh yourself once a week, and the ‘fruits of your labor’ will show, even if it’s not until the next week. :) Perhaps change your weigh-in day as well? I weigh on Mondays, so that I don’t let myself go over the weekend, because I know I’ve got that weigh-in on Monday morning.

Cyn – Moving can be so stressful. Are you guys moving a short distance, or quite a ways? Hope you got everything done you wanted to today. :)

Catwuv – Well, as long as you aren’t over-indulging in those sweets, I think it’s perfectly fine. It’s better to let yourself have some, than to completely restrict, only to binge a couple of months later. Been there, done that, far too much. So keep up the great work!

hey kayley-you can call me heather if you like and yeah i think i know about where you live that is cool that i have met someone else from michigan. I know i try to keep myself from getting on the scale but sometimes i just have to take a peek ya know? I actually like having my fridays as my weigh in day that way if i do mess up over the weekend i have time to work it off but i havent really messed up on the weekends cause i work really hard to count every calorie that i eat and try to keep my fat and carbs low.

Well, hope everyone is doing good.
be back later
heather

Betty: I am so happy for you! Congrats on the -7.4. Sorry that your back is bugging you. Hang in there.

Jacquie: woo hoo only 35 away from losing 100 pounds!

Julia: Hugs sweetie.

Sharon: I am all for an all cheese diet. If you find one please tell me. Hang in there doll. It will come off just keep on eating healthy and working out.

Hbieber: Wow I'm impressed with 4 miles waling!

Kayley: hi hon. I love you hair!

Catherine: I am having lots of struggles with supervisors and other ladies. I don't understand what is going on but they are just so mean. I am trying to take one day at a time with that job and just work there until I can get my job teaching water aerobics. I just don't like all the back stabbing that goes on. It is awful. Sorry that your feet are buggin you. I'm happy that you are doing your situps again. Good job.

Pennie: Hi there and hugs.

Zelma: I will continue to pray for Daryl. So sorry that he has got that awful flu. Hugs.

Cyn: My sister in law went back to school to become a teacher at the age of 40 she started. You can do it if you want to. I say if it is in your heart, go for it.

sletta: welcome

Mybody: Way to go on pushing your plate away when you are full.

Ally: Glad that you are so happy with your new home. I wish you all of the luck and blessings in the world.

Well, I think I am pretty well caught up for now. My mother in law and step father in law are here for a visit. I am doing okay but lots of stress at work which I am looking forward to not having soon. I am still going to my therapist and I think it is helping me.

I spoke at my surgeon's weight loss surgery informational seminar and loved it. I have done it about 4 times now and love it every time. I went and talked to a manager of the pool that I used to swim at and asked her if I could job shadow her and do anything for free to go along with my schooling that I am doing to become a certified water fitness instructor. She was so excited about it and said yes as long as her boss says it is okay. She said she will ask her boss and get back to me. If it is okay I will start doing it on Thursday evening after work.

Well, I hope you are all doing well and are happy and healthy.

Blessings all,
Annie

I had a quick request. For anyone who read my book and is interested in doing so, could you do a review of it on Amazon.com? I have no idea why it is important to my editor, but it is. It has something to do with where a book pops up on a search or something. Just go to the page for the book, and there is a link to click to leave a review. Please don't feel like you can't be honest. Even a bad review is helpful.

Hello again everyone! I finished that hat last Tuesday but I haven't woven in the ends yet... I hate finishing my knitting! I wish I had an elf to do it for me :D

Hope everyone is having a fantastic weekend!

Hi there!

Just started dieting again (after weeks of..um, on-off dieting and two weeks of MASSIVE culinary experience. Not that I'm regretting it; it's yummy.) this week and I'm half-excited half-scared that it won't work anymore. I mean, I've officially in rebound right now. WAAAH.

Anyway, this week is kinda..hard. There's so much food in the fridge and everyone else doesn't care! I'm the sole fighter against the fungi here...and I got a weight problem to take care of. *sigh* The worst one I've eaten is definitely the canned pork. All the oil.....ugh. I managed to take like, 3-4 days to eat a can, but I'm still afraid.

Also, just two days ago my sister had a wedding and we had so much leftovers. D: The worst one are a potato salad. I've been trying to eat it as a substitute to my daily staple (rice, Asian here) but I didn't feel so full and ended up eating...too much? On the vegetables, thankfully, but STILL.

Now I'm increasing my exercise time from 30 minutes to an hour. BUT HOW CAN MY WEIGHT INCREASED BY 5,2 LBS IN TWO DAYS? HOW? O_O; </panic>

Gotta try harder next week, and I have to buy wholegrain products!

Annie great to hear from you, sorry things aren't so good at work BUT hope it goes well with the water fitness!!!xxxxxxPs Ammi is in Derby (10 miles away from me) visiting Daren's relatives, we're hoping to meet up this week, I'm SO excited!!!!! She's had a lot of health issues this year but a break away from home has to help her feel better, even if it's not stopping the pain.
Kayley, I LOST fast on SB but got SO bored on it, I tried calorie counting but to be honest I need a set plan or I go off and cheat. Hope you're enjoying the Wii.xxxxxxx
Cyn good luck with the move, how long now, do you have a date yet?xxxxxxxx
Well I was so sick yesterday, I'm ok today back OP.
xxxxxxxsharon

My weigh in's are generally on fridays but last friday wasnt good becasue of TOM but i have been exercising everyday and i got on the scale this morning and it said that i have lost a little over 2 lbs but i cant make it official until my weigh in friday but im hoping to be able to maybe lose another 1 or 2 before friday so that i can make up for not losing very much last week but so far so good even if i only end up with 2 lbs i would be happy with that!

Its muggy and hot here today just gonna probably make some chicken and vegetables for dinner or something.

Well, hope you are all having a good day today!

Heather

I weigh in everyday to keep track of what I have done for the day. Sometimes the scale isn't always right either I also use a measuring tape and keep a record of the inches I lost, Welcome and Good luck.
