    to the June exercise thread! We're making exercise a habit, giving ourselves some accountability, and getting healthier in the process!

    In this thread, we track the number of MINUTES we exercise for the month -- whether it's walking or swimming or sweaty housework! Most of us set goals for ourselves (I personally will not exercise much without a goal). If you are a goal-setter, early in the month set your own goal! If you're just getting started, feel free to start with a smaller number of minutes (I did!), maybe just a few hundred. It seems easier for many of us to build on the habit rather than meet a very high goal right away. However, you can also just jump right in without a goal, and you can join us anytime in the month!

    In 2007 the 300+ club exercised 205,352 minutes. Let’s break that record!

    To keep track, just add your minutes to the existing group’s minutes. If you’re new, look at what other people are doing – it’s pretty easy to figure out! To help everyone keep things straight, please note the OLD minutes and the number of NEW minutes you are adding, such as
    Group total ~ 500 + 50 = 550 minutes

    We've made a great start and I'd love to see us hit 20K minutes for June!!! What do you say chicks and roosters??

  • I'm kickin' it up for June -- 1200 min is my goal!
  • 1200 min is my goal also
  • I wont have kids as much so no excuse not to get in more exercise.Im shooting for 1800. My scales maybe stuck but the inches come off with exercise!!
  • My June Goal is 540 per week. I'll be gone the last 11 days of the month traveling so whatever exercise I get will likely not be counted.

    For the first three weeks that would make my total goal 1620.

    EDIT: Changing my monthly goal total to 1930 Minutes.
  • It is summer, no more homework or studying for exams! I will however start going to the gym on campus three days a week starting tomorrow so I am going to set my goal at 600. Being out of the house should help me not have excuses.
  • I'm going to start "big" for me...1500 for June.
  • I guess I'm first - 45 min walk this morning.

    Group total: 45
  • I did horribly last month, didn't get to anywhere near where I wanted to, so I'm scaling down my estimate and going to try for 800-900 minutes. Going for a walk this evening to start me off...
  • 30 minute walk to Metro this morning.

    45 + 30 = 75
  • This is my first month delurking for the exercise thread, so we'll see how it goes! I'll go for 1000 min this month.
  • Cardio 20 min strength training 30 min

    Personal 50/600

    Group 75 + 50 = 125
  • This morning - 60 min water circuit class, 20 min elliptical machine, 20 min treadmill = 100 min

    Personal = 100/1000

    Group = 125 + 100 = 225
  • My goal is 750 for June

    Today I did 20 minutes of Walk Away the Pounds with weights!

    Personal = 20/750

    Group = 225 + 20 = 245
  • June is shaping up to be a truly challenging month, with 3 different sets of visitors and 2 unavoidable trips --- I am so not looking forward to this! I am shooting for 1500 minutes this month. To get started, 60 minutes of walking and 30 minutes of weights today.

    Personal: 90/1500
    Group: 245 + 90 = 335.
