Evening chicks...
ANNETTE: I have a question..have you ever lived in Arizona?? You look like a friend I had a few years in grade school. She moved to Oklahoma I thnk when I was in 4th grade. I lost touch with her soon after that and have been searching for her ever since. MAINAH: Thank you!!! I just get so paranoid all the time. ANNIE: Hubby caught a glimpse of your avitar and asked what is all that green stuff around her LOL..grass sweety! He so misses green grass! DANI: Welcome to a great group!! AS FOR ME: Although I kept Justin home again today, his fever has not got over 100. He still does not sound the best but he did play video games today. If all is well tonight and tomorrow, he will go to school tomorrow for finals. THANK YOU for everyones prayers and positive thoughts! I am not as well. My STAPH has closed and scabbed over BUT I now have to more suspicious bumps near it. I am going to the Dr in the AM to make sure that it is not STAPH. The only difference with these are, they did have a white spot like a pimple to where the STAPH was oozing clear liquid from the time I got it. If I go in there and he says that it is STAPH I really think I am going to flip! |
Hi ladies,
Ugh...tired. I need to get a full night's sleep. Maybe tonight? Jacqui, are you with me on this? I don't mind being called Battle or BattleAx. I was kind of amused by the name when I signed up way back when. Now....I like the new one better, but if anyone wants to call me Battle because that's how you remember me, its fine with me. Carol: You are working it! I hope you make your (secret) goal. Either way you'll look stunning with clothes that fit, won't you! : ) Annie: I doubt you'll gain the weight back but I think it will be great if therapy helps you with your anxiety. Welcome Dani! Val: yes, I was BattleAx. I wanted to come back to 3FC but I forgot my screen name! Anne: I can't wait to hear about all the great plants you grow this year. Annette: Anne has some very wise words. Most of the successful long term losers here have done so with relatively high calorie levels. Basically they eat close to what their maintenance calorie level will be at goal. I must tell you that I read your Fitday, and if that's what you're really eating it is unhealthy and unsustainable, and your body will rebel eventually. I hope you are open to listening to the wisdom here about healthy weight loss for those with a large amount of weight to lose, because there is a lot of knowledge and support here that will help you. |
Annette - please eat - you will end up unable to maintain your momentum and quite likely ill. Your body is no different than your car - it takes fuel - fuel the only body you have. Please.......
Anne and Battle are wise - they speak from experience. A few weeks ago I cut my calories too low (no where near as low as yours) - I gained 6.5 pounds. |
I just got back from walking with my husband at the mall. He is walking me everyday like I'm a pet poodle. Actually, I think of myself as more of an Irish Wolfhound. At least we didn't get the foot of snow they were forecasting. I am feeling myself getting stronger with each walk.

Hi everybody
Just checking in and enjoyed catching up on all your posts. Annette... I agree with the others and in fact my doctor cautioned me not to go under 1800 calories and that I would end up losing just as much weight on that as on lower calories because I would mess up my metabolism. I lost another pound today... that is 3 since last Weds and my appt with my nutritionist. Hoping to lose a few more before my appt next week... ha she will be proud of me. :) |
Morning Peeps - quick fly by - have a great day!
Battle - looking for a whoosh - seen any? |
Hi everyone, I haven't talked to you in a while. I think I wasn't on here as much because I fell of the weight loss wagon for a few days. My brother was here from Texas and I did my best, but I still went up in weight. I feel guilty, but I'm going to try and start over today. So far so good...but it is only 9:50 a.m. here lol.
Quick story: While my brother was here we all decided to gut my Mom's basement. Before more people came my two brothers and I did half of it ourselves. Here's the thing, we're all around 300 lbs and my one brother is 350. So for anyone who thinks fat people are lazy, they can stick it! :) Now yesterday and today I can barely move, but if I can survive that, I should be able to survive some exercise everyday. I hope all of you are doing great! |
Morning all. Its gonna be HOT here today. I don't do heat really well so I will be anxiously awaiting the return to more normal May temps.
Still staying on plan, but the heat is making me retain water!! At least my rings and shoes are telling me that. :D Annette, I hope you took our advice on the calories in the spirit it was intended. We want you to succeed, keep the weight off permanently and not damage your metabolism in the meantime. I just visited your Fitday journal and I am hoping you are actually eating many more calories than what is listed there. Most days you are in the 800 calorie range and that is too low to be healthy. Here is a link to a calculator using the Mifflin equation to figure out what you need to simply live and then figure out what you need to lose weight. http://www.diet-blog.com/archives/20...orie_needs.php According to this, at my current weight, I need about 2100 cals per day to lose weight and about 2260 to maintain. Just some food for thought. Take care! |

Everywhere I go everyone has differing opinions on how much to eat, which is why I'm pretty much going by what my dr says (she told me 1200-1800). I know I'm under what she says but honestly, I don't get that hungry lol. The only way I can get that type of calories while eating what makes me full is by eating junk. Keep in mind also that I'm diabetic so I really have to watch what I eat. In other news, we did our weigh-in today and you can see it by going here to youtube and typing in "Week 2 Weigh-in 05/21/09". Our youtube acct is biggestlosercontest. I'll keep you updated on what my dr says. Annette |
Been catching up on some sewing. I think my machine may be on its last legs. It's only 34 years old. It does get pretty hard use too. Problem is, they just don't make all metal machines anymore. The new plastic ones with computers in them bounce unless bolted to a table. I don't want a computer either. The only one left on the market I'd even consider is the 1008, but I just hate spending money on stuff like this. I'm just very cranky today. I'm going to do some shopping in Little Lebanon tomorrow. I'm hoping to find some wild cucumber pickles like I used to get in St. Pete. That would improve my mood dramatically.

http://www.kijiji.ca or a freecycle community. Good luck. I had the same issue with my machine. I nursed that granny till I could not find parts for her any more! It was a sad day for me. |

Hello All. I am another new kid on this block. I recently weighed 315 pounds - my heaviest. I have dieted off and on my whole life and never really got anywhere. I am (trying not to be anymore) an emotional eater and would throw progress out the window when something went wrong. I joined weight watchers 13 weeks ago and have lost 22 pounds and dropped 2 sizes. FINALLY I am motivated enough to keep going - I have had some rough weeks but I am determined.
I am a mother of an 18 month old who is my world and my biggest motivation. Also, my mother passed away at age 58 almost a year ago - she was overweight most of her adult life. They were not sure of the exact cause of death but she had a lot of health problems related to her weight (or at least it contributed to them). It was a wake up call for me. I don't want to leave my son at that age - I want to see him grow up and get married and have kids of his own (or not - whatever makes him happiest). Anyway, that is my story - short version of course. I am looking forward to getting to know you all. Glad I found 3FC! ~Bulging Beauty |
As Anne said, that first week loss is great - down 6.0 pounds at my weigh in last night. :) But I'm not expecting it to continue that dramatically. But don't expect me to say I was sorry to see it, either.
