300+ Weekly Thread #1202

:welcome:

We are a group of individuals who weigh or have weighed 300+, or near there. This group was formed to provide a place for others like us to find support, inspiration, and hope. We are aware of the distinct problems that come with weighing over 300 lbs.

We want to invite everyone (roosters as well as chicks!) to join us in our journey. We share laughter and tears, heartaches and fears ... joys and celebrations. We also share what works for us and what doesn't.

We know the thread can move very quickly, and that people often make "personal" remarks and keep a number of conversations going. Please feel free to contribute even if you can't make personal comments all the time.

Finally, we also have several extra threads going on simutaneously such as Monthly Challenges, Weekly Weigh-ins, Recipes, Bios, Photos, Exercise, Info for Getting Started and more. Many of these threads are stickied at the top of the page. Please feel free to check them all out.

We have found this thread to be more than just a support group... we have found it to become a home. We invite you to join us.

I know you'll all agree that we are really thankful for the free services here at 3FC. The sisters offer all of this support and information with no charges to us. There are a couple of ways though that we can help out.

If you are thinking about buying anything at Amazon, why not help out 3FC at the same time? You can do this by clicking on the button for the Amazon "store" in the upper right hand corner of the screen on the PURPLE tool bar. A portion of your purchase price will be given to 3FC by Amazon. It doesn't increase your price at all, but it does help out 3FC. You can use any of the Amazon.com links that you see on the site in order to help contribute to the site.

Also, BTW, in case you didn't know it, you can view the message boards "ad free" for a minimal charge. I think it's $15 for 6 months. A very small investment to be rid of the annoying ads and make your pages load quicker.

There have been some concerns expressed by the powers that be about copyright infringement. So please, if you are directly quoting someone else or printing an article in whole or in part, please give credit where credit is due!!

accidentally posted on last weeks thread.. so , a lil copy and paste... and wah la lol

good morning ladies.. the sun in shining (rarity here lol), and i weighed in this am for the first time (that counts) since i have given up the soda and started exercising more. i decided i would make mondays my weigh in day as that will help me stay OP during the weekend. As of this am i am 299.4... woo hoo... the sad part is it took me a year to lose from 325 -304 cause i was stubburn and wouldnt give up my soda and to be honest i wouldnt exercise either.. i even went in and had my thyroid checked cause i was losing so slow... gave up soda last tuesday and from then till today with a bit of exercise each day i lost 5lbs.. i was 304.8 so actually 5.4 lol..i guess the dr was right when he said my thyroid was fine..
i havnt changed my eating much except instead of fries, i have baked.. i even had a few pringles over the weekend, but i exercised em off before i ate em which wouldnt have EVER happened before. i do love soda, and i miss it horrilbly, but.. im lovin this weight loss more than i miss it lol.. i know it wont stay at this accelerated weight, but im gonna sit back and enjoy it while it lasts.
i hope everyone is doing well today and able to stay on their plans:hug:

Hey ladies. I was more of a lurker last week, but I did manage to read almost every post. I hope everyone is feeling better and Annie I'm glad it wasn't anything beyond panic attacks, but that still seems pretty serious to me! I hope you are getting the help you need. *healing hugs*

I'm going back to the doctor this morning, this time a more personal visit at the OBGYN, which I'm not looking forward to. I have to do it, so I'm going. Next on the agenda is a visit to a dermatologist, but I haven't made that appointment yet. I have been washing my hair lately with TSAL, fragrance free, and it seems to be okay. It keeps me from itching as much. I also have noticed my hair feeling thicker when I run my hands through it. I think diet changes will continue to help things along, but I do need a doctor to step in and help my skin heal. So far everything is checking out internally, but externally I have these issues still.

I've been working on a web site project as well as plotting out my own web site redesign. Currently it scares people haha. I am moving toward doing something more illustrative as that is where my passion lies.

Eating wise I've been doing "okay" but I can do a lot better. I've decided part of my issue is not making a detailed meal plan for myself. So, that is what I am going to do for the next store trip. I need to plan out exactly what I'm having and not piddle about with guesses.

I hope everyone is doing well. I haven't lost any weight ,but I haven't gained either. *HUGS*

DCHound 03-16-2009 10:17 AM

Happy Monday all. I was a lurker last week too but I promise to post more this week. I am still stuck in plateau-land but I've gone to the new gym every day for the last 2 weeks, except for 2 sanctioned "rest" days, and I've lost 1 1/2-to-2 inches all over. So I'm not worried about the scale right now, I'm happy with getting smaller. I'm sure my weight will start to drop again eventually.

Hope everyone is well and having a good week so far!

keeperofthehome4 03-16-2009 12:52 PM

I'm here I promise you'd think girls in school be more time nope. I'm annoyed right now thought. I joined Curves a month ago and I didn't lose any I GAINED and I was watching what I ate. I'm not sure if its worth spending it on a membership or not. We have one car so my husband comes gets me and get get the girls and he stays with all 4 while I work out. Then its rush home get them to do their homework and rush to get supper done. I got my heartrate where they said to and I never broke a sweat. OR so I keep at it another month and see what happen? I don't know I'd love some advice.

Hi Ladies,
Results are in!!

LitChick 03-16-2009 02:58 PM

Hello Lovely Ladies!

Well, I am back again - trying once more to get healthy once and for all. It is nice to see the familiar faces as well as some new ones. I hope your week is off to a great start!

The past few months for me have had their ups and downs. I gave myself a birthday gift in December of signing up for one of those exercise bootcamps. For three weeks, five days a week, I got up at 5am and exercised for an hour in the outdoors - even in the pouring rain, even when I was laying in the mud and frost. I never thought I would be able to do something like that, and proving to myself that I could did a lot to boost my self-esteem and my resolve to get healthy and fit. I was able to take 6 minutes off the time it took me to run/walk a mile and I doubled the number of situps and pushups I could do in a minute. I also ate right and kept a food log during that time.

Then came Christmas, and it all went out the window. It took me until the end of February to get back on track. For two months, I went back to my old ways, eating too much and not enough good food and not exercising.

When Lent started (February 25th for those of you who do not observe), my husband and I decided we would each give something up. He gave up eating out, and I gave up eating things with added sugar, both real and artificial. Since we are together for most of our meals, that means I have almost elimated my eating out as well. It has been almost three weeks, and I have not slipped up once. As someone who regularly drank 3+ diet sodas a day and had desserts several times a week, I am feeling very happy. But I know I will have to be careful once Lent is over not to just slip back into my old habits.

My husband has been doing really well on the exercise front - when I started the bootcamp, he joined a gym with one of his coworkers and has been going practically every day. That compelled me to get back to exercising, too. Also, my workplace started a 'healthy living' initiative - several women (no men at our library - yet) have joined - we replaced our breakroom snacks with healthy alternatives, we exchange healthy recipes, arrange times to go to the gym together (we get a discount at our local Y), and offer support to one another. So, I joined back at the gym, and have been going regularly. I have found this time around that two things are making a difference: going with other people, and doing various things like classes and different machines rather than just the one thing every day.

My next step in a return to healthy living was to come back to 3FC, since I have found this such a great place to come and share and support one another. I need all the help I can get!

AmericanUK - Congratulations on getting out of the 300s! :woohoo: That is awesome and you should be very proud of yourself. Don't beat yourself up over past behavior. It is what you are doing now that counts. That's great that you've been able to give up the sodas. That is really tough!

Jacquie - hello and nice to meet you! It sounds like you are doing the things you need to do to take care of yourself. That is important and something we neglect all too easily!

DC - congrats on losing the inches! That's awesome! Good for you for not worrying about the scale, either.

Keeper - I've never been to a Curves so I don't really know how hard a workout it is, or what your personal fitness/body issues will allow. Do you leave there feeling like you got a workout? Or is it too easy?

Debbie - what results??? Inquiring minds want to know! :D

VermontChick 03-16-2009 04:30 PM

Hello -

American in UK - CONGRATS on being below 300!! That is so awesome. I can't wait to be below 300...I still have about 8 pounds to go....it's so exciting because I haven't been below 300 in like five or six years.

I am not sure if I introduced myself before, but my name is Mel, I have been coming here off and on for years. I see a couple of the "old" regulars still lurking about, but many new faces too! This web site has helped me get through so much, and i've met some really cool people here.

I am 28 years old, and i am an elementary school teacher. we just recently found out that our school is being closed down (catholic school) - so i may not be a teacher in the fall unless i can get a job!

another thing about me, i am diabetic, and i just found out a couple weeks ago...my whole lifestyle has to change now, but i am motivated and up for it.

just over the past two weeks i have completely changed my diet and started exercising. already i have more energy, am sleeping all night, and i'm not tired/fatigued during the day.

what sorts of "diets" is everyone on? just cutting calories? I'm on weight watchers...

Debbie54 03-16-2009 07:18 PM

LitChick, It's the results for the Biggest Loser Challenge that started earlier this year.

Sorry for not being around but just haven't felt like posting, so been lurking. I did start back OP yesterday. I'm so uncomfortable with the weight I've gained, so giving it a go again.

toodles

dogpal 03-16-2009 07:37 PM

Hi Everyone,

Leslie: it is so great to see you back!!!! Welcome.

Had a very productive day at work today and looking forward to being all caught up tomorrow when I go to work. Tonight is weight lifting with DH. I am really enjoying it. He pushes me and I like that.

Blessings all,
Annie

gggirls 03-16-2009 07:48 PM

Annie - that sounds fun! DH has been walking with us - 2 nights in a row now. I like that too! He is going to do the Trolley Run with me at the end of April - he is concerned he won't make it 5k - gotta get him ready. The pups don't know how to act though - us girls have our routine down and he thinks he needs to handle one of them. Nice week - how are you?

Debbie - baby steps remember. We're here - goodness knows you've pulled me back on the wagon more times than I can count - grab hold and hang on.

Realist 03-16-2009 11:53 PM

Hi all,

Quick check in, just got my walk in.

Here are my stats from yesterday....

1) NO more going out to eat / drive thrus (today was good)
2) Keep calorie level 1800 or below (<1800)
3) Burn my required 3300 calories EVERY day for the rest (3329)
4) Get my 10,000 steps in every day (10,371)

And today, looks like I will hit my goals as well. It was a lot harder today with work, but still made it.

That's it for me.

Angie

CatherineM 03-17-2009 12:36 AM

Went to the store today. It's like an excursion to the North Pole practically. I get to go to the pool tomorrow. Himself is off to Calgary for the day, so I get to go alone for a change. I have promised not to run off with one of the pool boys.

azcyn 03-17-2009 12:49 AM

Evening ladies...

Angie: way to with keeping up with your goals that is awesome!

Catherine: I have never been to the north pole hehehe

So we are having potluck tomorrow at work! But it is for our room only..so LUCKLY most of us 5 are trying to et healthier. We are having chili made with turkey that a girl is bringing in. I made corn bread..bad I know BUT only having a small piece...and lots of veggies..and angel food cake and a salad. We all in the room have decided to help eachother stick to whatever plan we are on. One girl is doing the South beach one. Me and another girl are just counting calories. The other is on no soda and less bread..the other is no running to the vending machine. LOL baby steps I keep telling them baby steps.

Sometimes it is hard because they think at my size, and I am the biggest, that I should be eating the least. Sometimes I just put my I am not listening face on lol. One wants to ride bikes after work. There is no way. She said I am using my weight as an excuse. BUT I tried at the gym and my knees hurt so bad.

EVEn as I sit here and type, I swear I feel like a big blob of fat! So onward to make life changes...Thanks ladies for being there for me!!! This site and you are all soo important to me!

kayleystar 03-17-2009 03:24 AM

Hello all! I'm back from my long weekend down to St. Louis! Had a blast, got a TON of walking in, but my legs are so stiff and sore still from the 7 hour car ride there and back. I drank faaaaaaar too much this weekend. I skipped weigh in this week, and will next Monday, once I've gotten some of this water out of my system!

I'm exhausted, and heading to bed. I'll be here in full swing again tomorrow (well, today....later. lol)

Night all!

JuliaDH 03-17-2009 08:23 AM

Morning all! Been kinda lurking. Not to much to say. Kids have spring break this week and ds#1 got himself grounded. Boo hiss. Doing well food & water wise. Not getting in enough exercise tho! Well I should go feed the kids. They have asked for green coloured pancakes. St. Paddys tradition here. Even tho not irish! They love it. Latter chickies!

keeperofthehome4 03-17-2009 08:47 AM

Morning!

Well got the girls off and to school this morning. Now just me and the boys poor guys are sick running fevers and runny noses so lots of cuddling today. Got supper in the crockpot it's a roast a recipe I got off of a Weight Watchers board long ago. I need to get my kitchen cleaned and some laundry done. I did good last night I did some Yoga and I plan on doing some more tonight. And then cardio tomorrow. Well best get moving on cleaning.

LitChick~ I don't feel the same after going there nothing like at home where I sweat like crazy working out. TO me it seems like it's more for toning but IDK that's the impression I got and so did my husband from looking online at the machines.

Julia ~ have fun with the kids home for spring break. Ours is first week in April.

Jacquie668 03-17-2009 10:47 AM

Hellooooooo...well my doctor appointment went okay. I have issues with being touched and looked at, just my past haunting me, and I think I handled it okay. I need a break from doctors for a few days and will get back to my old self, less consumed. It is hard when they ask me these questions about my past and I have to sit there and answer and I do, honestly and openly. Yesterday it was just a bit too much for me and I just need a doctor break.

She did give me a bit of bad news. She said that I most defiantly have Hidradenitis Suppurativa, which is a skin disease for anyone who doesn't know. I was really bummed when she said the words and she knew I was knowledgeable about it as I said "HS..yeah I know it and was hoping this wasn't that." So, basically that sucks!

I've done so much reading and reading and reading and my gut says that most of the people who have HS, that I have read up on, have other skin and/or related allergies! I've been reading about natural healing and I really truly believe that a lot of my core issues can be handled from healing myself from the inside out! Meaning a proper diet and upon reading I'm finding I'm on the right track, which is why my HS isn't extreme. I also must note that I have no pain, none. I just ITCHY 24/7! I mean from my scalp, to other issues, I think it is all connected and I think I'm getting there in understanding what is going on...Anyhow, my OBGYN told me to wash with Hibiclens and well that is it. She said I have the "typical" HS that she sees a lot with her patients.

So anyhow there ya go...and you know I've had HS all my life and thinking back to when I was smaller, I had issues here and there. :o

Anyhow, today I'm going to go buy a career outfit....lol. I need something nice and I have to relearn how to walk in a heel. OH YAY! lol...
*****

LitChick - Nice to meet you! :D Love your picture! :D I agree, we tend to take care of others and not ourselves. Part of my learning how to regain my independence is to take care of myself. I'm so not there yet, but every step is closer!

Debbie54 03-17-2009 07:35 PM

Carol, thanks for being there and pulling on my arm, leg, body to get me back on the OP train.
It's been two days and counting and feeling somewhat better already. So right about the baby steps.

Hi to everyone else. I'm not too chatty, so just in lurk mode but read.
toodles
Debbie

CatherineM 03-17-2009 07:47 PM

Cyn-the closest I've been to the North Pole is Ft. McMurray. In December is was -70F air temp. I didn't want to know the wind chill. I never left the hotel. That crazy man I'm married to thought the whole thing was great fun.

DCHound 03-17-2009 09:25 PM

Annie, I just saw the pictures you posted. You are tiny!!!!! OMG you look awesome!!!! Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DCHound 03-17-2009 09:28 PM

Vermont Chick, I am on Atkins. I have stayed on induction since I started in August since I have a lot of weight to lose. I lost 98 lbs the first six months then stalled out around Valentine's Day, my six-month Atkinsversary. But I have lost almost 2 whole sizes since then, so I think my body's just trying to catch up. WW and calorie counting don't work for me because I am a carb addict and I literally cannot control myself if I eat bad carbs. So I totally avoid them.

Realist 03-17-2009 09:48 PM

Hi all,

Here are my stats from yesterday....

1) NO more going out to eat / drive thrus (today was good)
2) Keep calorie level 1800 or below (<1800)
3) Burn my required 3300 calories EVERY day for the rest (3499)
4) Get my 10,000 steps in every day (10,153)

And today, looks like I will hit my goals as well. :carrot: Today my legs didn't want to walk, but they did anyway. The weather here is fabulous, so I even did a tiny bit of yard work.

That's it for me.

Angie

JuliaDH 03-17-2009 09:57 PM

Great Job Angie!
I need a new step counter. Mine busted. Weather is great so I need to get one soon to help measure my progress! Thanks for stating your goals plainly. It helps to keep mine in focus and plain! Fancy stuff just gets me bogged down and then I stall.

kayleystar 03-17-2009 09:58 PM

Happy St. Patrick’s Day everyone!!:luck2you: I’m very Irish, but will not be celebrating tonight, nor this weekend.

I decided not to hit the gym today. I am still incredibly sore from head to toe. My arms are feeling a bit better today, so if tomorrow my legs are still sore, I’ll be going and doing my upper body strength training at least.

Not much else to report today. Just working on a research paper that’s due on Thursday, and watching The Biggest Loser. Hope you’re all having a great day!!!

Julia – Hope you have a peaceful week, even with all the kiddos at home! :]

Catherine – YIKES! I absolutely loathe the winter, and cold weather in general. I don’t see how that could be fun! Heh.

Annie – I second the comment about your pictures! YOU LOOK AMAZING!

dgramie 03-18-2009 07:45 AM

Good Morning,
havent been here much to post but i am reading. I am doing great!! Food has been easy and exercise has also.THe wonderful weather is making exercise so easy. Scales appear to be stuck at my lowest...but thats ok..im doing everything right!!!
have a great day !

voodoo1 03-18-2009 08:59 AM

Annie, WOWEEEE, you are TINY!!!! (I bet a couple of years ago you wouldn't have believed it would you!!xxxxxxx) I feel a little envy sneaking in! Hope your panic attack thing is settled down now & you're feeling good. xxxxxx ps Heard from Ammi, she's ok, but busy.
I'm ok, felt vile yesterday, slipped over, cut my thumb & just felt agitated, dunno if it's TOM, or hormones or changing my way of eating & emotions attatched to that. Anyway I'm plugging away & staying OP.
xxxxsharon

Jacquie668 03-18-2009 10:11 AM

Annie - your pictures are amazing! :D You are a real inspiration. :D :D :D

Voodoo - I hope you are feeling better today. Could be hormones, they tend to sneak up on ya when you least expect.

DCHound - I've noticed that my own weight loss comes off in chunks. Like it just falls off then I hit this sort of period where I loose very little to nothing, but then suddenly WHAM more weight is off. I wonder if it is what you say, your body catching up with you.

****

Well I managed to get some clothing for a more career look. I got this funky blouse thing, something I have NEVER bought or even thought of buying before, but it is fun and I am smaller so I wanted to go for it. It is so nice to go into a store and try things on! One thing I've come to realize is that my days of ordering online are very limited. Now that my body shape is starting to come through the fits of my clothes are so much more fussy than before. I mean when you're 340+ pounds it isn't about the "fit," or it wasn't for me. It was about what I could get to cover up myself lol. So, now I'm wearing things that are a bit more shapely. Now I have to get shoes as I have a meeting on Friday. Weeeee! :D

I'm getting back into my exercise groove. I've been so tired lately, not getting sleep, and last night was the first just sleep I've had in awhile. I didn't sleep well, but I got some much needed rest.

Hope everyone is well! *hugs*

DCHound 03-18-2009 10:46 AM

Jacquie668, you're right, it is A LOT more fun to shop for clothes now. I was a clothes horse when I wore a 14/16 then when I gained all this weight really all I ever wore were sweatpants. Now it is getting to be fun to shop again.

I changed my signature this morning ~ no more mini goals for a while. I swear I was doing just fine until I started setting mini goals. Hmm, maybe there's a correlation... :)

dogpal 03-18-2009 10:52 PM

Carol: I'm thrilled for you that Ed is walking the girls with you. Love that family time. Our furbabies lay around beside us and watch us lift weights in the garage. Ocassionally they come over and try to kiss us when I'm on my back doing chest exercises. Sneaky babies. lol.

Debbie: We are all here for you sweetie. Baby steps. Hugs.

Angie: Woo hoo to your goals. I'm so happy that you are doing so well.

Cyn: Baby steps to you too sweetie. Sounds like you have a wonderful supportive office.

Kayley: Glad that you had fun on your trip. Welcome home.

Julia: Green pancakes sound like fun!

Keeper: Sorry that your boys are sick. Hope they are better now.

Jacquie: So glad that you got a new outfit. I am still shaky in heals. lol.

DC Hound and all of you who are calling me tiny. I would never ever use those words to describe myself. lol. Thanks that is very sweet.

Sharon: Hugs and great job staying op.

Well, I got the call today from the new company offering me the position that I applied for. I will be continuing working at my normal job Mon through Fri from 8-5 then going to training from 6 - 9 p.m next week and all day on Saturday. Salvation Army is finally having a job fair on Monday and I am going to try to sneak out to it even though I excepted the other job. I am just very drawn to the Crock Center. It has 4 pools and workout facilities more up my ally. At least I have a job now though weather we lose the contract for sure or not on the 31st I will have a job to go to on the 1st of April. I am thanking God for that in this economy. I feel blessed.

I am so close to reaching my 300 pounds lost goal. I weighed this am. and am down another .5 pounds. only 1.5 more to get to 300 lost. Hoping it will be this week. lol.

Blessings everyone,
Annie

shimmers 03-19-2009 12:40 AM

Hi everyone,

May I join you? I am seriously considering surgery (a gastric sleeve, as recommended by the Kaiser surgeon), so on one hand, I have the goal of getting to 300 so that I'll be a candidate and on the other hand, if I don't do surgery, I need to do Something. Again.

In the past year, I married and bought a house and turned 40 (all for the first and hopefully only time, not to knock reincarnation or anything). What Was a repeat was seeing my weight top 300. I once lost 65 pounds, but saw it slowly return once I stopped going to the gym regularly.

I'd love to find a group for encouragement and support and discipline and all the things I saw in your great posts this week. Would it be okay to join you?

~Shimmers~

voodoo1 03-19-2009 05:12 AM

Shimmers, you've found the right place, there are people here 'healthy eating', doing W/W, South Beach & various other plans. Some ladies have lost 200lbs+ or 30-50lbs & working on the rest. Feel free to aske questions, share tips, moan laugh, whatever.xxxxxxx
Well I'm feeling totally great now, must have been hormone the other day! I have a 'careers guidance interview' today to help me focus on my strengths, job hunting & interview tips. Hope it helps, I REALLY want a job.
xxxxxxxsharon

keeperofthehome4 03-19-2009 08:08 AM

Annie~ Nope they are still sick poor babies and the rest of the family is sick and deicded to share it with me. So no working out I can't breath to do anything. So watching my food intake. I want this cold out of here.

Shimmers ~ :welcome3: You can do this. There are alot here who have been where you are. I'm included I'm over 300lbs and got to get this weight off. Have you tried counting calories? Or what about a low carb diet? I know South Beach is good I have done it and lost 40lbs but gained it back when I stopped watching my carbs. If I eat too many I gain like crazy so I have to limit them. If you fall off the wagon just jump back on we're here for you. And start slow on excerising just take baby steps.

Jacquie668 03-19-2009 09:40 AM

Annie - Well, I am shaky in heels! My first pair in like 10 years! I was totally not wanting all those man shoes and ended up getting a pair of chunky high heel maryjanes. :D They are simple and cute. Of course it occurs to now that I should get another pair of a more lighter toned shoe for my other looks. lol. Oh well, I'll have to go back! :D

Shimmers - Welcome! :D In my own personal opinion, I think part of the issue with the weight regain, and certainly I'm in that group as I had lost 30 pounds and regained it and then some years ago, is that I couldn't seem to get past the "dieter" frame of mind. Meaning, as soon as I relaxed I gained weight back because I went back to my old lifestyle. Now I'm learning how to move on from that dieter attitude and merge into a lifestyle change. I'm finding it a challenge, but that is all part of the journey I think. I agree, you can do it! But doing it as in changing your life for you!

***

Well today I'm rushing about trying to get things ready for my meeting tomorrow. lol. I haven't been in a meeting in ages, so this is new for me. We'll see how it goes. I'll take a picture and post it. :D I don't have many before pictures...maybe I can find some somewhere.

Hello all...I'm new to this site and I have a question that has been bugging me. This may not be the appropriate place to ask, but it looks like the busiest thread so that's why I'm posting here.

Does anyone here take a fiber supplement? When I am on weight loss programs, I become very irregular. I find this odd since I am eating better - more fruits and veggies and such. I have been reading the labels on fiber supplements but they all state there is the potential for a laxative effect. I DO NOT want a laxative...just a little more fiber to promote regularity. Does anyone have any experience or suggestions? Thanks for your time!

Mainah- HI and welcome. I have the same issues when eating healthy. I have IBS and its settles down and changes its course. I think eating greasy food and soft drinks trigger D. So when I eat right, I get C.
I have found fiberchoice tablets work best for me. Also be sure you are getting in enough water!

not alot going on here today..weather has cooled back down so we (me and kids) are stuck inside. I felt so much better being outside.
food is good..water is great...exercise is still happening....life is good ...now if the scales would just move ...
hugs to all

Hey all - Hows it going? Glad to report another pound gone and u know what it was hard work! I've done loads of walking, nursing shifts and have eaten really well, so was expecting a little more, but anything down will do!

Jacquie - just wanted to say hi and I have had problems with HS for years off and on, mainly in the axilla/armpit so I feel your pain! I have learned to deal with it and mine is not too bad. Hope u are ok. The heels sound great, u have done really well getting a load of weight off! Well done :)

Annie - Cannot believe that u were ever 300 pounds heavier, its just unreal!! Well done u and sure u will be there and soon :)

Sharon - glad u are doing well and back on track, good for you!

Me - doing ok, work is busy but rewarding. Am starting training tomorrow to be a mentor and do teaching and assessing in practice. When I first wrote on here I was a nursing student, and now I will be assessing students, thats mad, time goes quickly!!

I am personally really really determined to keep on walking/eating well/keeping track of my calories as a way of life, and I am excited and impatient to get a whole load of weight off, but it will take time eh?

Have a great week all x x

Annie, you ARE tiny!!! I can't believe the photos. You look fantastic. Now with all your weight lifting, you're going to be so toned and trim!!! Yes, it takes baby steps and this in day 4, and I'm doing fantastic. I've changed eating times too and it seems to be helping ALOT!! thanks for the encouragement!

Shimmers, I did the exact same thing you did. I lost 75 and gained back 40 of it so now I'm back OP. We can do this! Welcome! Welcome! Welcome!

Ally, feel well soon!

Jacquie, looking forward to seeing the pics!

Mainah, Welcome! Can't really answer your question though. I was more irregular when I wasn't eating right, but since I started eating the right food again, I've been pretty regular.

Debi, they'll be moving soon, I'm sure of it!

EmilyMay, I remember when you became a nursing student and look at you now!! Losing weight, loving the job and having a great life. YAY for you!!!

I'm doing pretty good so far. I've picked a low carb slim fast diet and it really has cut down on the cravings for me. Before we were eating 3 meals in 6 hours due to Jim's work schedule, but I've changed it and spread it thruout the day more and it's really helped. I'm not pigging out at night at all now. Just my dinner at 6 and a snack at 8 and it's working great. I feel in control again. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for when TOM approaches. That seems to be the time my hormones get all whacked out.

Seems like we are lurking alot but not posting - I promise to try to do better - I think of each one of you every day. Each one of you have been so supportive in this journey.
