Good morning, and welcome. I don't know much about Medifast, however, I just took a look at their website... and the scrambled egg breakfasts (egg, egg whites, egg substitute) are 100 calories. 12g protein, 10g carbs, 2g fat

Not sure if that helps, and that seems pretty light for a breakfast, although that might be with a shake...

"With Medifast Scrambled Eggs you can enjoy delicious and satisfying eggs for breakfast (or any other time) and still have your Lean & Green Meal later in the day. "

Medifast 70 shake - 100 cals, 14g protein, 14g carbs, 1g fat

Medifast 50 shake - 90 cals, 11g protein, 13g carbs, 1g fat

Just a question, if what I'm reading is right. You do 5 shakes a day and one 'lean and green' meal? Before you ordered, did they adjust for a higher starting weight? This strikes me as a plan that you don't go over 1200 calories, and that's just not enough when you weigh more. Usually around here we'd suggest that you start at least at 1800-2000 calories (although everyone will give you a different number, most would agree that under 1200 isn't a good idea.

Oh, just found it on the website:

How many calories are in the Medifast 5 & 1 Plan?
The Medifast 5 & 1 Plan provides 800 to 1,000 calories per day, depending on your personal selections.

Really, please think about this. Even if you were 150 pounds, wanting to get to 120, I'd likely try and talk you out of it. Believe me, I truly understand having a lot of weight to lose, and wanting it simply gone, but I really don't think doing 800 calories a day is safe, not matter what their site says.

No matter what you decide to do, don't let my rambling post dissuade you from posting here. I'm usually just a lurker, with too much time on her hands this morning.

Okay, but if you don't have the food yet I wouldn't try to fit into the plan. Most of the shakes and meals are very much vitamin enriched (to make up for what you would be missing). So, in say 100 calories worth of eggs from them you might get the vitamins from a larger amount. Since today is Sunday (unless they deliver on the weekend) I'd just work on some kind of personal plan until you have everything in front of you. Best of luck with your plans!

Amanda,

Welcome and good luck to you on your MF plan. I have done tons of different plans including WW and none of them worked for me even when I was 100% op. I did a medically supervised liquid diet plan similar to MF and I did wonderfully at it and it helped me on my journey to better health. I hope you have the same wonderful success as I did with mine.

Blessings,
Annie

Hi and welcome!

It looks like you're trying something new. I did a juice feast to start my weight loss journey, not saying this as a comparison to your plan as it probably isn't, but I found it quite a life changing and enlightening experience. Unfortunately for me I couldn't get used to drinking green juices and had to move on from that for my health. Still, I'm glad I did it so best of luck to you and your plan!
