300+ Weekly Thread #1182
WELCOME! We are a group of individuals who weigh or have weighed 300+, or near there. This group was formed to provide a place for others like us to find support, inspiration, and hope. We are aware of the distinct problems that come with weighing over 300 lbs. We want to invite everyone (roosters as well as chicks!) to join us in our journey. We share laughter and tears, heartaches and fears ... joys and celebrations. We also share what works for us and what doesn't. We know the thread can move very quickly, and that people often make "personal" remarks and keep a number of conversations going. Please feel free to contribute even if you can't make personal comments all the time. Finally, we also have several extra threads going on simutaneously such as Monthly Challenges, Weekly Weigh-ins, Recipes, Bios, Photos, Exercise, Info for Getting Started and more. Many of these threads are stickied at the top of the page. Please feel free to check them all out. We have found this thread to be more than just a support group... we have found it to become a home. We invite you to join us. I know you'll all agree that we are really thankful for the free services here at 3FC. The sisters offer all of this support and information with no charges to us. There are a couple of ways though that we can help out. If you are thinking about buying anything at Amazon, why not help out 3FC at the same time? You can do this by clicking on the button for the Amazon "store" in the upper right hand corner of the screen on the PURPLE tool bar. A portion of your purchase price will be given to 3FC by Amazon. It doesn't increase your price at all, but it does help out 3FC. You can use any of the Amazon.com links that you see on the site in order to help contribute to the site. Also, BTW, in case you didn't know it, you can view the message boards "ad free" for a minimal charge. I think it's $15 for 6 months. A very small investment to be rid of the annoying ads and make your pages load quicker. There have been some concerns expressed by the powers that be about copyright infringement. So please, if you are directly quoting someone else or printing an article in whole or in part, please give credit where credit is due!!! |
Snow in the forecast late tonight! :brr: What about everyone else??
|
We're warm enough that it will be rain today. Wed there's potential for flurries, but I think it will be in the evening... so we can pretend that it didn't happen!
|
SHHH heather!! I dont want my weather to hear about your snow..please keep it there and dont share!!!Our high for today is suppost to be 45. Im not ready to be stuck inside just yet!!!
well i just did the 100 pushup challenge and my arms are like jello. Its a good workout. hugs to all |
Snow is a bad word! I always tell my clients not to speak it or it will come true!
State inspectors are in town today (I work at an adult day care), so we're running around making sure everything is all in order. STRESS!!!!!!!! I will post when I can! |
I do love snow and rain! :D
Going to go for a long walk tonight. I haven't been able to exercise this weekend due to an allergic reaction to a product, so I'm itching to get outside this evening and walk walk walk. :D |
O my gosh, snow would be like a dream come true. Here in the desert we are having a prolonged warm spell--people are still wearing shorts. This hot weather does not evoke Halloween at all.
I wanted to de-lurk again because I am so happy that I had a good weekend and did not engage in binge eating! I decided to face my problems instead of overeating to cover them up. I struggled and a few times was out the door on the way to get my food and wine fix. But I was so sick and tired of hating myself and the way I have been living for years. I can't tell you the tremendous relief I felt when I made it through the day without bingeing, eating out or drinking. Thanks everyone for all your support. |
I don't know if it helps, but I made myself a promise this time. No matter how bad it was I would log the calories. That was where I went off the rails the last time. I would have a bad day and not log it. Then I'd have another one and only log part of it. This time I decided that no matter how good or bad I was doing I would keep track. It might have helped me pick a more realistic starting level for calories. I also tend to plan my day the night before so I know what my next meal or snack is.
However, just saying 'good for you' on the weekend! |
Cyn, oooooooo these boys of ours!! Once a girl comes into the pic, they sure can change can't they? They get out there and stretch their wings and over night, they change. It's kind of exciting though to see them getting out there and doing and learning new things and also learning from their mistakes. Look on the bright side, at least he's a guy and can shave his hair. It will grow back and hopefully it will be the end of his changing hair color.
We went and saw SAW 5. It was ok. Not one I would see again though. Carol, lots of "firsts" for you and it's great!!! Be safe on your travels. Annie, how did the meeting with Toni go? I bet it was so fun to see her and meet someone from here. I still think we need a 3fc convention some where!! Heather, no snow here yet but it sure is getting mighty nippy! CatWuv, YAY on no binging this weekend. You're a better woman than I am!! I turned in my app to Michaels today so hopefully I will hear something from them. We went to the pumpkin patch and corn maze Saturday. It was sooooooooooo much better than the one we went to before. This one had a fire pit in the center of the whole maze with hay bales to sit on with refreshments off to the side. Then we went thru the second half and had a whole bunch of people behind us following us to find their way out. It was alot of fun and the paths were so nice and clean! We went to this one at night and puts a whole new perspective on it. Next year we are going to go to the haunted one which was down the road from the one we just went to. The prices of the pumpkins weren't that bad either and they carted us around from one stop to the next on huge tractors with hay bales on wagons. The pumpkin farms are the best!!! I did eat more than I should have but with all the walking, I'm hoping it will counteract the bad eating. have a great day! Debbie |
Monday is out of the way. Woohoo! The scale was down to 341 today, so I'm really, really hoping it can get to under 340 by the end of this week. I would just love to end the month of October at like 339 instead of 340. It's the little things in life that make me happy.
Jacquie – Hope you get your walk in tonight. There is nothing I love more after work than going for a nice long walk (well… to be totally honest, there is nothing I like more than dinner…). Cat – Congrats on making it through the weekend! That is always sooooooooo hard. You have proved that you can do it! Debbie – Best of luck with your application! I am sending positive vibes your way. Your weekend sounds like a blast! |
Heather: It is clear here but cold. I'm afraid to look and see if it is going to snow. lol.
Debi: I'm impressed with your 100 push ups. How long did it take you to do them? Firedust: Woo hoo on getting to 341! Congrats. Cat: Congrats on no binging. Way to go. Anne: It helps me to write everything down regardless of the calories. Debbie: I hope that you get a call from Michael's soon! I want to tell you guys that Toni is beautiful in person. She looks wayyyyyy younger than the photo she has on line. I told her that and she let me take another photo of her alone and post it and I had a lady passing by take a photo of us together. So, they are both posted on the pic thread. I loved meeting her. She is so genuine and sweet. It was so much fun to just visit. She is a fantastic semstress too. She had the cutest little butterfly toy for a baby that she made that makes noise. My hope is like Debbie54's that someday we can plan out (way in advance so I can save money to go) but, plan a retreat or meeting for 3fc site. It was so nice to give someone that I have love for in my heart a real hug in person. After I visited with Toni I stopped by a store where I knew a former co-worker was now working. I walked in and she said hello to me but she didn't recognize me until I smiled. She asked, "Is that you Annie"? It was weird to have her not recognize me. I haven't seen her since February and I was at 280ish pounds. I had a nice little chat with her and she told me how different I look. Which seems weird to me. Tomorrow night at my support group meeting we are having what they call a Pants parade. We will be wearing our old clothes and showing how much weight we have lost. I couldn't believe it when I just tried on my old jacket and black size 6X pants. They wouldn't stay up without me holding them up. I was astonished honestly because I didn't think I was that different. It made me kind of giddy actually. lol. Silly I know. I hope you are all doing fantastic and blessed. I am going to head to bed early tonight because Tuesdays are my looooong days. Blessings all, Annie |
Annie and Toni - I love love love your pics. I wanna hug too!
I need to get ready for the road - not sure if I will be checkin in our not - if not - see you on Thursday. Hugs to all, Carol |
Going to rain here...
Wet walk for me tomorrow...guess I'll do the treadmill. Hope everyone has a good night
|
Carol: I wish I could give you one. Until then.....
Radar: Welcome aboard. Glad that you are with us. I'm looking forward to getting to know you better. Well, It is 7:16 and 3 a.m. comes awfully early. Yawn. lol. I'm off to bed now. Blessings all, Annie |
annie- I am on day one of week 1. Its a 6 week program to help you work your way up to 100 push ups. Its a good work out.....my arms felt like jello for an hour. I was impressed that i was able to do knee pushups..so later in the day i started feelling cocky and tried a reg push up...LOL i fell flat on my face..
|
Oh my goodness Debi: I hope you didn't hurt your mouth when you feel on your face. lol.
I do "girl" push ups too. lol. It is 10 minutes to 4 a.m. and I need to go brush my teeth and head out to work in another 15 minutes. I hope you all have a wonderful, op, bootie moving, water drinking day. Blessings, Annie |
HELP! I have inched back up to 299 as of this morning! I can not go back over 300! I need motivations the last 3 weeks I have slipped back into the old habits! I am very disappointed in myself! I cant seem to get back on track! Hoping someone one will have the words that are effective in kicking my rump!

Anyone else struggling?
Read the inspiring posts from the sticky above. It is helping. Probably have to read them every day this week. Just finished setting new goals. I want to have released 20 lbs by Dec 31. 2lbs a week. I know I can do it. I have done it from March to Aug. I can do it again. Gonna file away the fact that I wasted my opportunities in Sep & Oct to make any headway in my health and JUST DO IT. |
Wanted to let everyone know that I'm okay, just exhausted. On top of last week's activities, I had a paper due yesterday that was worth 1/3 of my grade, so today I'm just exhausted. Fatigue is one of my biggest problems, so I'll have to really watch myself. I've got to go to the dentist tomorrow, then my flu shot, Thursday is class, and Friday is the last football game of the year.
It's finally gotten cold here, but no real snow yet. |
Julia, I'm struggling too. I have been for quite some time now. I just keep losing the same pounds over and over. So with that said, I'll give it the good old college try if you will. Let's try and give each other some challenges to see if that will help. Do you want to try the 100 pushups challenge? I never even started the C25K that I thought I would. Just not motivated. But maybe together we can get back on the wagon, what do ya say?
Annie, have a great day at work. Carol, Catherine, glad to see you back! Rest up and feel better! We keep getting these d*mn phone calls all hours and this morning it got the best of me between Jim's snoring and the phone ringing at 5am. They called 3 times in a row and it's like a fax machine going off. I ended up throwing the phone after listening to hubby snoring for the last 1/2 hour. I checked on the computer and come to find out, it's Direct TV. Several people are going thru the same thing. They are sure going to hear an earful from me today! It's pissed me off for the whole day. Not a happy camper!! Hope everyone else is having a good one though. Debbie |
Ya I'm struggling as well. It is discouraging at times when I just feel overwhelmed with my life or just discouraged by things etc. I had to take antihistamines, Benadryl, this weekend because of my allergic reaction that landed right on my face. That has made me sluggish and just blah. They seem to take me longer to get over, like out of my system. Someone suggested trying Clariton next time, maybe I should do that.
Blah blah ya know? |
I had a really depressed moment last night. I had looked back on fitday and saw that I weighed almost 100 pounds less just two years ago. How frickin’ depressing. If I had just stuck with it instead of falling back into my old ways… who knows, I could have been at my goal weight by now.
I think it is good for all of us to know that the past is the past. Each day we are given the opportunity to make better decisions. Even if we have a few bad days or even a few bad weeks, we still have the desire to get healthier and we have all learned a lot about how to do that. I know it is easier for me now in terms of meal planning and exercise planning because I KNOW this time around what I need to do… it’s doing it that is another matter altogether. Still, I really believe that small steps make a huge difference, even if I only eat one healthy meal a day, that's better than no healthy meals at all... |
Hello fellow chickadees
I have not long returned from my oxygen therapy at the MS therapy centre. I go weekly to to have the hyperbaric oxygen therapy. It is the same treatment as divers use when they have the bends. I have been having the treatment now for 9 months and have found a big difference in my energy levels and my walking has improved. Sorry if this post is not grammatically accurate or the spelling is a bit weird and wonderful the side effect of the treatment is one of making you very tired. The next day you gain all the benefits so you just have to ride out the tiredness :tired: I have found muscles I never knew existed today as I went on the wobble machine, not called that really but a vibrating tone machine. It is useful in strengthing our muscles and core muscles. The side effect of the machine is it burns fat :carrot:. The worse bit is I am well endowed up top and got a few jelly rolls of fat well that all goes jiggly about  Though oh boy I found muscles today I never knew they were there my thighs are aching and my tummy oh well no pain no gain as they say. I have set a little mini goal for myself though no time frame as for me it is counter productive. I want to lose another 4lbs. Why this magical figure of 4lbs to take me to 174lbs. Well here in the UK we use a slightly different measuring scale we stones (1 stone = 14 pounds) and pounds. If I lose 4 more pounds then it will make 9 stone lost (126lbs). Never in my wildest dreams at the beginning of my weight loss journey did I think losing 9 stone was ever really possible though here I am knocking on the door of it thinking it is posible I can do this. My attitude through the journey of losing weight has changed from one of I don't really think I can ever lose that amount of weight to one of Yes I can lose that amount of weight. The journey as been a bit bumpy at times but I have enjoyed for the most part this road to a healthier me. Julia I am not sure if this will be of any use to you. It is hard when you are struggling and your weight is creeping up. I at the begining of my weight loss journey took things slow and did not change my "diet" all at once as I need time to adjust to having a different life style. So week by week I added in for example changing the bread to wholemeal or not having crisps ( potato chips I think you know them as). I did not look upon the weight loss journey as a race. It had taken me years to get to the weight I was so it was going to take a fair few to remove them. No matter how many slip ups and hiccups I have had along the way I have always tried to do my exercise. I do nothing fancy and it comes for free :) I have a walk every day. Intially I was hardly able to walk 10 minutes before I has shattered and needed a sit down. Though I stuck with it and sometimes did 2 walks in one day only short but hey any exercise is better than none. So doing your exercise daily is the first thing that is a good one to change followed by smaller portions. Maybe writing down a list of things you need to change in your present diet and then tackling them one by one rather than overnight which can be overwhelming. I tweaked recipes we loved to make them as healthy as possible using ground turkey instead of the red meat. Eventually adding in maybe very finely chopped vegetables to a bolognese sauce or other family favourites and reducing the meat hence less calories. I have discovered a whole new world of different foods by being open and willing to try them. OK so I will never like peas in anyway shape or form :p Though I love butternut squashes, butter beans, and sweet potatoes to name a few. I would have lost weight quicker but I am no  so now and then I have indulged. I try to adhere to my little rule if I have say a meal out then everything else that day must be healthy it is not an excuse to have a "naughty day". The best words of wisdom I have seen I think it was on Madalinn's signature (my apologise if I have got the wrong person) "pick your hard, being fat is hard, maintaining is hard and dieting is hard" Gosh those words ring in my head so true when I read them. It hit me like a lead weight reading that and really taking in the full impact of it. For years I chose the hard of fat as I thought it was easier though in reality I was not happy with how I looked and I was rapidly losing my mobility. So maybe taking the slow path back to healthy eating will help you get motivated and in turn start losing the pounds. So hop back on the waggon and cling on this bumpy road they call weight loss. You can do this I know you can. Look how much weight you have lost so far that is brilliant. Focus on this as a positive and it shows you can do it. It hasn't been a long time that you have had a little slip up you can turn this round very quickly and the pounds will start melting away. purpleorc :grouphug: |
WOW! I skimmed over last weeks to see if I posted last week YICKS I did NOT! This week is not going to be any better.....we are STILL MOVING!!! grrrrrrrrr I have to go tonight to pack up the garage......and then tomorrow night, thursday night & friday night possibly we will be cleaning.....I just have to wipe down counters and shampoo carpets.....mop etc....
we are "in" the new house....ummmm not nearly close to unpacked! I did attempt to move one room at a time over here.....I managed the living room & kitchen but all other rooms need to be put together..... eating has been hit and miss....since I haven't really truly cooked since coming back from the cruise...... I finally uploaded some pictures to my myspace page there is a link on the picture thread to the album if you all want to take a look! Debi-----no I would not wish that kind of pain on anyone!!!! LOL yeah that sounds like what I just went through though.....hope you feel better! Well I gotta run DD started working at Subway......had to stay after school to get her grades up (don't EVEN want to go there) so I have to go pick her up from school drop her off at her work then go pack some more....then pick her up from work and then pack some more.....somewhere in there have to finish cooking dinner and wash laundry!!!! grrr hopefully after the 1st it will calm down around here! Howdy....
Bernice: I AM SO JEALOUS!!!! Your pics are absolutly amazing!!! Looks like yall had a great time! And being able to swim in that clear blue bahamas water....Lucky Lady!!! Debbie54: I think they are going this evening to see SAW 5. Since my son works at the theatre now, he can get in for free and family. I'm going to stay home and watch TBL! Thanks to all who comforted me on my sons hair drama. I called my normal lady yesterday..she said that it was OK for him to dye it back black. So we did! WE meaning I made him by the dye and I did it. LOL It looks 100% back the way it was! The hair is alot shorter...but he says he likes it. I do too! Maybe he will keep it short..lol Yes once girls get in the picture..moms advice goes flying out the window. Maybe that is how it is suppose to be. I really like my sons GF..thank heavens lol As for me: I went to the Dr today for the meeting for the nutrition help. WHAT A JOKE! It is going to cost $165.00 a month for 9-12 months. That is way more then I have. I also had a really weird time with her. She seamed very "upity" and she yawned through the whole talk. She used alot of big words to explain herself...sorry lady I didnt bring my dictionary. : ) Then the icing on the CAKE...when I told her I would go home look over the paperwork and discuss with hubby and decide if this is something we could afford since it's a SHAME insurance compnaies wont cover it..she stared me in the eyes and says..I kid you not...you cant sit and wait for the insurance company to help you ...they are not here for that...this is a situtaion you created..its time to take a hold of your life! I can tell by looking at you, that you have alot of toxins built up inside you and you are not going to be able to do this on your own! You should not expect insurance companies to bail you out. I about fell out of the chair. Needless to say..I am not doing that program even if I had the money. So back to the drawing board. Hubby said we can make changes here..he knows I can do it gotta put my mind to it! Rescheduled the appointment with the gyno cause TOM started yesterday..go figure! Well ladies I took the day off and going to make the most of it. Toodles... |
:DHi Everyone:D
I feel like de-lurking now that I am finally staying on program which for me is a low carb, calorie-counting diet. It greatly helped to focus on why I was eating too much and what I could do about it. Not all my problems can be easily fixed but I feel so much better now plus I am already down 3 pounds:carrot: CYN: I can't believe how that woman treated you. How underhanded to pressure you in such a rude and crass manner! I would not go back to her either even if insurance covered it. FIREDUST: How I empathize with you about time lost when we could have been losing. I can get really depressed about it too. I almost would give four years to come to get the last two back. Anyway, I try to be realistic and use my sorrow as motivation not to have to feel so disappointed in myself in the future. Still, the time we have lost and the weight regained has to be mourned and dealt with. :grouphug: Thanks to everyone for their support. Pennie |
Well after eating soft carby foods while my gums heal and my colon settles back down I seem to be starving now. My mouth seems better so tommorow im back to real food. Just got to stay away from the nuts and seeds. Its so true that eating carbs make you hungrier...at least it has been that way for me. I am so ready to get back on track
cyn- i am sorry they were rude to you. You can do this for free!!You know what will work for you..and they just want your money anyways.. debbie- I just started the 100 push up challenge..tommorow is day 2 of week 2 join it with me..but beware I am sore in my chest and uppers arms so i know its working. hugs |
Hello Everyone!
I am so happy to see this group on the site and very happy to join it as well. I am new to the site and would enjoy the companionship of others who are going through the same things that I am going through.
I haven't learned how to manuever through the site yet but I'm hoping to learn in time. Any tips you could share is greatly appreciated. I look forward to getting to know you all. Mi Mi:) |
Good morning one and all
Phew sigh of relief did not get the snow that was forecast though got the sharp frost. I am very grateful we did not get the snow. Hmm me and snow is like Bambi on ice ;) 2CtheREALme ~ :welcome2: to the board nice to have you on board. Like yourself I have only just recently joined this thread and they are a great bunch of ladies  It takes a while to glean all the information from the site as there is so much and many recipes as well to help us on our way. What healthy eating plan are you going to follow? Look forward to getting to know you over the coming weeks and months. dgramie ~ Glad to hear that the colon and mouth have benefited from the carbohydrate diet. I wish I knew the reasons why eating lots of carbohydrates make us what to eat like :moo: I have noticed since I have reduced my carbohydrates in these past few months it has kept me in check a lot better. Not that I was eating many but I have cut down even further and it made a huge difference. Pennie ~ Nice to meet you. Glad you have come back from delurking :D and are committed to calorie counting and low carbohydrates. Great news that you have lost 3lbs from the change in your diet. Like you I feel better when I fuel my body with healthy food rather than junk. I wish at times I would :listen: to my body when it is telling me this junk food doesn't do me any favours. I am just back on day 5 of eating healthy as last week was more off plan than on plan and I felt lousy by the end of it. I now feel heaps better for my clean living. azcyn ~ :yikes: that is mega expensive for that programme and a long time to commit to paying to it. So sorry that the lady was so darn rude and used such long words that a dictionary is needed to translate why some people are like that it is beyond me :dunno: A little kindness and understanding goes a long way plus it cost nothing. There are lots of things that you and your DH can do which are for free but make a big impact on your health and ultimately the scales. I have done this weight loss with my DH who was also overweight like myself. We encourage each other when we feel down and praise each other for our loses. We have chosen little tiny gifts we would like if we lose say 10lbs. I know this is not for free but it would only be something small but not food. Maybe a bottle of nail polish or a piece of costume jewelry. I work well with the carrot and stick method  We walk every day together (health permitting on me) picking different routes and so see different things. Sometimes I really have not wanted to walk but I have gone. Afterwards I feel great and on a little high that exercise gives you. Then I am so pleased I have gone. The press up challenge is a great on suggested on this thread. Small things go a long way as they all add up. Glad that the hair drama has been resolved and it is back to normal even if it is a bit shorter. Yes I think there is a point where as young adults we start listening to our boyfriends or girlfriends more than our Mum and Dad :o Good that you have a great relationship with his girlfriend as it is like gaining a daughter. DMPLS ~ Nice to meet you and look forward to getting to know you over the coming weeks and months. Moving home is a stressful time not to mention all the chores that have to be done in order to move. Trying to eat health at a time like that is difficult when your routine is put out of sink and many other things on your mind and planning meals gets pushed down the list. I am sure once you are settled in your new home you can recommit to the healthy eating and planning meals. Time to get shifting as I am going shopping so bye ladies and take care  purpleorc :grouphug: |
Hello Everyone, Congrats on your triumphs and Hugs for your struggles.
I'm back from my travels. Depressed that I have to turn around and travel again in 35 days. It's damn hard to stay on with the healthy stuff while traveling for business. Next time it will be even worse because I'll be doing business stuff AND stuck in a cabin with my evil step mother for a week. Grrrr!!! I'm frustrated and while I was gone I gained back a few pounds. I've been trying to get back to healthy eating and exercise. It's just frustrating because it seems like such a big uphill battle. I hope I'm just tired and that things will look brighter soon. Blah. |
I'm back in Montana with Internet access! It really wasn't bad at all going without but I am happy to be able to catch up everywhere. I had a wonderful meeting with our Annie (Dogpal) and got to visit for a good while. She is a lovely and caring person and I hope to see her again sometime. I had fun quilting and toy making. Shopping was fun too! My husband will be happy to see me this evening, he doesn't have to cook dinner tonight.

Phew what a day!
Hello Everyone!
I hope everyone had a great day and is one day closer to their goals as the day ends. Today was my first day back in the gym and I had to take the moment to pat myself on the back for going. I did 45 minutes on the treadmill at a good pace. I plan to focus on cardio this week and add weights next week. My biggest concern is keeping up with consistency and learning enough about foods and recipes so that all of my hard work in the gym doesn't end up going to some take out restaurant. I'm searching the site for recipes so that I can cook fresh meals at home. This is the way I want to go. Any suggestions or favorites are welcome! How do you ladies manage the meals? Mi Mi;) |

Oh, the compulsive part is that I keep a list of what's in the freezer, and never go to bed without planning the next day. :) |
Annie - Enjoy Pants Parade! :-) And, yes, I'd TOTALLY join y'all for a 3FC get-together!
I watched TBL yesterday. Anyone else really peeved by their product placement? I mean, yeah, water is healthy for you and most of the country drinks watered filtered one way or another but once they start telling you what brand of gum to buy... ::shakes head::: I don't think so! :-/ I am thrilled with my Barry's Bootcamp order. It arrived yesterday - inflatable dirigible and all. LOL The package I bought includes 2 different strengths of resistance bands with handles plus 3 DVD's chock full of strength-training exercises. I watched one last night and some of them look super tough but they also have a gal doing a highly-modified version that I think I can handle. I will watch the entire upper-body dvd tomorrow as I bike. I am thrilled to get November started. Currently I'm doing 5 days of cardio, 1 day off, 5 days on. I'm switching that in November to 6 days workout, 1 off. I'm alternating 40-minute bike rides (up 30 from earlier this month) with 20 minutes of WATP (switching to 2-mile for better workout). To this I'm adding the strength-training 6 days a week - 3 upper body, 3 lower body. November is going to be a great month!!! :-0) I am incredibly stressed these days and I cannot connect with what my body wants to eat. It's hard cuz I walk around for 1/2 hour with "i'm hungry, what do I want to eat?" running through my head in one continuous loop until I remember that I need to sit down, close my eyes, and really get fully into my body and the answer will come. It feels like a set-back since intuitive eating is now mostly...well, intuitive! So, I'm being patient with myself and mostly choosing healthy food when I cannot connect with myself. Still, the whole thing is aggravating! Ugh. I had an official weigh-in on monday and I just remembered an hour ago that I didn't weight myself. I will do so in tomorrow morning and update my ticker. Oh, and yesterday I wrote what is possibly the BEST speech I've ever written. I have to go memorize it now cuz I'm delivering it tomorrow night. I am going to try to memorize and sew so that I can have my dress finished by tomorrow night. Cheers everyone! |

Well I think you should share some of your compulsiveness with me! I am sure that has helped you be very successful in your efforts and journey! Wow, in that moment, I felt so unorganized. LOL! Serves me right, I needed a kick in the butt! If I planned my meals, it would probably help me with making sure that my last meal happens before 8pm and not after. Do you have recipes that you recommend? I'm looking at your numbers and your doing fantastic! Mi Mi |
Your workout???
Anne, what workout type are you doing? I read your blog and I saw a lot of abbreviations but I'm not sure what your talking about...sorry. Can you tell me about it?
Thank You, Mi Mi |
Not alot going on with me..gums are healing slowly so eating is still not back on track. I did great yesterday and then hubby wanted polish sausage with peppers and onions for dinner ..so i ate to much..I wont be buying that again anytime soon!!!
Exercise is good for a change...pushups are going good and i am not sore today after doing them yesterday...on tuesday i could barely lift my arms when i first got up. Its fun just seeing how many i can do. I am also back to jumping on the minitramp. Now if i will just keep the exercise up!!! Frost got the rest of the garden so I may try and pull up whats left out there today. Its so sad to see it all end...but we ate so many veggies this year..I cant wait to plan a better garden for next year..we are doing leaf lettuce and radishes in the early spring. So i have a friend who is putting her christmas tree up this weekend...I just want to scream!!! I am so not ready for the holidays!!!!!!!! |

http://realcdn-recipes.blogspot.com/ However, there are lots of recipes all over the board here. Take a look up at the top of this forum: http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/showthread.php?t=34754 (Also, all over 3FC there are a lot of recipes.) I admit I usually do a low-carb kind of dinner. I'm not following a low-carb plan, but, usually cut the starch out of my meals at least half my evenings. Last night we had pork souvlaki (skewers done on the bbq) with a big side of frozen bean/carrot mix. If you're cooking for others then you could have added potatoes and/or rice for them. Quote:
3: Supine Hip Extension - 6, 4, 3, 2 4: One-arm Dumbbell Incline Bench Press - 45e/6, 45e/4, 47.5e/3, 50e/2 5: Bent-over Row - 135t/6, 135t/4, 135t/3, 140t/2 The 3rd line are simple repetitions. I did 6, then 4, then 3, then 2 Supine Hip Extensions. The 4th line I did 45-lbs (e) each of the One-arm Dumbbell Incline Bench Press for 6 repetitions, then 4, then I increased the weight and did three. Then I increased the weight and did 2. The 5th line was using a Barbell and the t means total weight. So I did 135-lbs for 6 reps, 4 reps, 3 reps, then I did 140-lbs for 2 reps. This is not something I would suggest for beginners. In fact, even after 8 months I'm still not sure I would recommend it for people with a lot to lose. It's a hard workout. I started off with a book called the New Rules of Lifting for Women and have moved on to a system called Power Training. I found that I really enjoy lifting heavier weights. I think no matter what you do for exercise it's important to find something you enjoy. Even on the hard days I find it very satisfying. Quote:

Good Morning all,
Julia: Maybe reading old forum things that you wrote to see what changes you have made and maybe rethink going back to them. Perhaps look at any journaling you have done or before and after pics. Hugs and good luck. Catherine: Please don't overdo things. Take it easy once in a while. Debbie: I hope you got some rest! Have you heard anything from Michael's yet? Sometimes it takes larger companies a while to get going on the hiring process. Fire: Hi Purpleorc: I think your 4 more pounds goal is wonderful. Good luck hun. Bernice: I hope the remainder of your move goes well. I will have to go search for those pictures. Cyn: Sorry you were treated with such disrespect! I would report her to the Dr. Catwuv: Woo hoo on another -3 pounds! Debi: I hope your mouth starts feeling better very soon. Careful not to get your blood pressure up too much when you work out so it makes your mouth more sore. 2Ctherealme: Welcome. I see that your name is Mi Mi and we have another Mimi here. So, maybe I will call you Mi Mi 2. lol. I'm happy you are here with us and I am looking forward to you sharing our journey as well as us sharing yours. Congrats on walking so long on the treadmill and making it to the gym. Bunny: Welcome back! Sorry you have to go again soon. Hugs. Toni: Glad you got back home safely. It was so lovely to meet you and get to see you in person. Glad that you had such a great time on your quilting retreat! Mimi: The pants parade was very funny. The best part of the night was seeing all of the before pictures of the people I hadn't seen before. It is amazing how much they have changed and also how they all seem to have gotten younger with the weight loss. lol. I'm glad that things are seeming good for you right now. Have fun giving the wonderful speach you wrote. Today is my DH's 44 birthday!! He stayed home from work today and is still sleeping at 9:23 a.m. lol. I already went to work and came home and did the Gazelle for 30 minutes. I am going to go jump on the bike for another 30 at least. I am watching Tuesday's Biggest Looser that I have tivoed. I hope you all have a wonderful op, water drinking day. Blessings, Annie |
RealCdn, great post. I was looking around your blog yesterday and had similar questions. I have that book, New Rules of Lifting for Women, but I'm doing a modified beginners version of Ken Hutchins Super Slow. Mainly because it's what my honey is recommending I do. After I workout I tell him what I'm doing and he tells me when I should up my weights. I'm amazed at how strong my legs are. But I guess they'd have to be to carry my weight around.
2CtheREALme, I plan what I'm doing for the week when I go to the grocery store. Not necessarily by day,m just what I'm doing for the week in general. Whole Foods has some super yummy frozen fish that is individually wrapped, with like two pieces per package. The night before I figure out what I'm going to make the next day and ask my honey if he wants it also. That way I know how much to make. Two nights a week he has Tai Chi and isn't home, so I generally make a salad and a piece of fish. I like RealCdn's method of freezing stuff in serving sizes and will be trying that. Planning really is the key. If you know how many calories/fat/protein/carbs you need to have for dinner it will make choosing what to have for lunch and breakfast so much easier to stay on target. You can make room for a small rare treat if you plan it in as well. ;) The night before I get my fish, chicken, buffalo or turkey out of the freezer for the next night. Then I make sure I have plenty of fruit and veggies to have for the day as well as something easy I can make for breakfast. Plus something for a healthy snack like fruit or carrot sticks or some kind of quick lean protein. Granted I haven't been following this as well lately. (stupid travel!) Once you get into a routine it will become second nature and soooooo much easier. It's great when it's all planned out because it takes the pressure off you to make sure you are eating just so. You only have to plan that once a day and you're good to go. :D Here's a blog I love for healthy interesting recipes: 101 Cookbooks. I need to find some more. I'll be looking at Anne's recipe blog as well. Hiya Dogpile! Great Workout going on's today! W00t! I hope you have a super fabulous day with your Hubby on his special day. :D |
