  • to the July exercise thread! We're making exercise a habit, giving ourselves some accountability, and getting healthier in the process!

    In this thread, we track the number of MINUTES we exercise for the month -- whether it's walking or swimming or sweaty housework! Most of us set goals for ourselves (I personally will not exercise much without a goal). If you are a goal-setter, early in the month set your own goal! If you're just getting started, feel free to start with a smaller number of minutes (I did!), maybe just a few hundred. It seems easier for many of us to build on the habit rather than meet a very high goal right away. However, you can also just jump right in without a goal, and you can join us anytime in the month!

    And you want to jump in, because one of the main reasons to be here is to track how many minutes we exercise as a group! In 2007, we exercised over 200,000 minutes...

    I was really bored today ...Walked 50 min this afternoon.....And walked 65 minuites tonight.....Tomorrow I will be crawling ......Angels
  • Goal for July is 1100. I've broken 1000 for the past two months. Time to bump it up a notch. These monthly threads have been so inspirational. I started tracking my minutes in March even when I was having technical difficulties with the site. Thanks for this!

    30 Elliptical and stair machine = 30 for me

    Group total = Angels4u's 115 + 30 = 145
  • I'm not going to set a goal this month for a couple of reasons. I will log what I've done though. So 60 mins walking from yesterday.

    Group total: 145 + 60 = 205
  • 40 min swimming + 60 min walking + 20 min batting practice = 120

    Group total = 205 + 120 = 325
  • 80 mins strength training (with HIIT)

    Group total: 325 + 80 = 405
  • The weekly hike, another 119 minutes (strange, that) + 30 = 149 for me

    Group 405 + 119 = 424
  • tues & wed~70 min water aerobics, 40 min biking ea day

    Group total~424 + 220 = 644
  • Personal Goal -1000 minutes

    Wednesday night - 20 minutes on NuStep recumbant bike, 35 mins on weight machines. - 55 mins.

    Group total - 644 + 55 = 699
  • 60 minutes from yesterday's yard work (did more than that, but only claiming 60 + 30 minutes from biking today (8 miles) + 699 minutes (group) = 789 minutes
  • Thursday 50 mins water aerobics class - personal total 105 mins.

    Group
    789 + 50 = 839 mins
  • 200 min for me so far. It's all cardio as I'm nursing a wrist strain. 30 min bike riding, 60 elliptical, 60 walking and today 50 elliptical.

    Group total ~ 839 + 200 = 1039 min
  • 80 minutes total for yesterday and today, a combination of elliptical/recumbent stepper and walking.

    229 Total for Me.


    Group = 1039 + 80 = 1119
  • 60 mins walking, 60 mins garden work (harder stuff)

    Group total: 1,119 + 120 = 1,239
