Angels – Congrats on still losing even when on vacation. That is a big accomplishment!

Annie – Money and job woes can be so stressful. You don’t have to apologize! I am just glad that your hubby and puppies were able to help cheer you up. I will have to think about a race with a prize. Right now he isn’t starting a formal exercise routine and I don’t want to push him into it if he isn’t ready, but when he is that is a good idea.

Rat – Glad you are feeling better today.

Bernice – Is that a grumpy fairy or a grumpy dwarf? :)

Sharon – I am sorry to hear that you are going through the job hunt stress thing too. I didn’t buy anything this last weekend, but we are going to a sci-fi convention this weekend and then another ren faire the weekend after that. I oogle at all of the jewelry and stuff too. Mostly I end up getting too confused as to what I want because I love everything.

Brandnew – I hadn’t realized that you had broken things off. That is horrible that you have to pick up the financial pieces of someone else’s mistakes. That is happening to my BF right now with his ex and it really sucks.

Valerie - So good to see you!

Jess – What exactly are you doing? If you are doing everything right and not having results it is time to go to the doctor. The two most probably culprits are thyroid or PCOS. You might want to look those up and see if any of the other symptoms fit.

Patti – I posted in your other thread, but here again I will say I am right there with you!

Catherine – It is so nice when our bodies surprise us in positive ways. It is such a good feeling not to be wiped out from a previous day’s activity.

Debbie – One thing may be that your dad sympathizes with your brother more because they are both in male bodies. He may not relate to you in the same way because you are a girl and he looks at you differently. I am sorry that he makes you feel that way.

I am rather sore and I don’t want to go, but it is off to the gym tonight for me again. I have to get myself back into the routine of it. Even so, it will be a short week because I am heading up to my BF’s on Thursday night and we are heading to Connecticon for the long weekend starting on Friday. But that is even more reason to keep going today and tomorrow in case I don’t get much chance over the weekend.

Eating is going well except I am running into the same problem of not being satisfied with one item when I eat something like a sugar free jello cup or WW ice cream bar. I have been keeping in points, but I don't like eating as many points worth of that stuff as I have been. The kind of stuff is almost all gone now and I will try avoiding it again for awhile and stick to fruit and then maybe one treat of something "real" per week if I really want it.

JuleeCeeS 07-29-2008 07:16 PM

Debbie...the news media made the quake seem way worse than it was. I was a little freaked at first till I realized exactly what was up. At first I thought there were a ton of kids running by the room where I was...we have a day camp in our buidlign these days...so it could have been. I am in a building that was built to sway...so we don't really shake so much. Only one thing fell off my shelves and we had no damage here. The actual quake was a little east and south of us. I was the most disturbed by the fact that the phones were shot for a while afterwards...when I finally got in touch with DH I was so relieved....that was what made me cry.

Thanks for asking though...and for everyone else...contrary to what the news would have you think we did not break off and float into the sea today.

Dinner plans tonight at a new restaurant with DH and some good friends. The place is close-ish to work, so we're walking over. It's a gorgeous day and the walk will do us good.

Ratkitten 07-29-2008 08:18 PM

Julee, what amazed me the most was that the news sounded disappointed that you didn't break off and float out to sea. Must have been a slow news day.. hehe.

Glad it was less than described!

Luv,
Ratkity

angels4u 07-29-2008 09:01 PM

Jess 8 Your body has to get use to the change in diet....Keep it up make sure to eat the calories your Doctor has allowed... For us loveable and fluffy people we sometimes have to eat more then a 1200 calorie diet to lose weight ...Keep the battle! You are so worth it!
Dogpal Good luck on your job interview.
Ratkitty You are funny...lol
Nancy Great job in going to the gym ...And smart girl to start eating healthier foods ...We all eat that junk sometimes but it is better for us all to eat whole foods with no chemicals.
Tonight I am struggling .....For some reason I want to eat badly...Ca't figure out why ....Don't think I depressed, not bored....But I vow to just drink water with a hint of lemon.......But personally I wish this drink was really a nice milkshake........lol (being I am dreaming a calorie free milkshake lol) Hugs all Angels

gggirls 07-29-2008 09:13 PM

Hi Peeps -

Luan and Julee - glad to hear the quake wasn't more serious. Luan - you OK?

The scale released 2.75 this week - I'm hoping to finish off the recent gain by next week.

Hope you're all having a good day.

Hugs,
Carol

DMPLS 07-29-2008 11:52 PM

Glad to hear our CaliforniaChicks are ok! from my former days living in cali that one was a small one by all means! I hadn't heard anything about it today....didn't watch the news or anything found out a few mins ago when I hopped online and checked my emails!

Well the grumpy fairy/dwarf is gone I think.........don't know whats gotten into me.......next week school starts......end of this week I have to go in and also on Sat I have CPR recert.....then next week kids start back on the 5th but the 4th we have to be there. Still need to get DD clothes for school.........maybe we can hit the stores sat afternoon........I also need some new working shoes........Can't wear sandals the whole time! LOL

CatherineM 07-30-2008 12:38 AM

Bernice-Just remember that CPR dolls are very clean, dry, and sanitary, and in real life, sometimes your patient has just had a whole pot of coffee. Haven't been able to drink the stuff since.

princesspuffypants 07-30-2008 03:04 AM

julee - where do you do your studies at?

catherine - i spite shop too, but i usually do it online. especially with makeup since i get a discount at all the major brands. i would probabally buy in the store if people werent such jerks, but i will go, test stuff on my friends, and when we've been there for 30 mins and are ready to go someone FINALLY helps us, and i toss in, oh, thanks anyway, im a makeup artist and im going to go order online to get my discount. i just wanted to test the products before i spent the money. thanks anyway... lol sometimes i'll ask for samples before i toss that in too (sidenote if you like MAC - which really is a horrible brand, but i digress- if you ask they will give you a sample of anything thats dry like eyeshadows or pigments. sometimes they will do the fluidline eyeliner too. just tell them you have an outfit you want to test it with at home. they usually wont put up a fight. plus the samples last longer than most shades are in fashion anyway.

Jess - are you eating enough calories/

to everyone who asked about the earthquake. we're all ok. it was a lot of shaking and pretty scary (i hate earthquakes) but the worst was a few bottles fell on the floor. it was centered about 34 miles from me and about 60 miles or so from Julee. the worst anyone i know got was a little broken glass and some shelves fell over. the worst part was i had JUST gotten out of the shower getting ready for work so i was running around the house naked with my underwear in my hand trying to get my grandma into a doorway. it was pretty hilarious.

angels4u 07-30-2008 06:13 AM

Hi All,

It's a beautiful sunny day here! Haven't been walking for a couple of days because of the humidity..I am up early today .....So I plan to do a small walk ..... Hugs all Angels

dgramie 07-30-2008 07:06 AM

Good Morning everyone,

sorry for those with the earthquake..glad no real damage was done. I still rememer how much the one we had a few months back shook me up.LOL

Went to the funeral home last night...It was so sad. The mom seems to be hanging in there the best anyone in her shoes could. She has been told that they can do something to prevent it from happening with another pregnacy. They said he could fit in one hand, just so tiny but yet body formed perfect.

Had a scare with my sister in law who had the heart attack last year. Her potisuim and magnesium both bottomed out and she ended up having to have another heart cath done. She doesnt have any new damage at least to her heart.

have a great wed everyone...
debi

Ratkitten 07-30-2008 08:18 AM

G'morning all,

Our dept is having an all hands meeting today to tell us of re-alignment. Maybe nothing major will happen. No telling. The admin is providing breakfast and that's never a good sign.

DMPLS, glad the grumpy dwarf is leaving. All my teacher friends are going through it. I think it's realization that school is just around the corner. Sounds like you have lots to do before your fall routine starts!!

Angel, you did wonderful losing while on vacation!! My goal is to maintain. This is supposed to be one of the hottest weeks in DC burbs (complete with humidity). I'm not looking forward to the electric bill afterwards.

Catherine.. ewww about the pot of coffee. Now days, there are devices that go over people's mouths that are provided in places like schools or gov't. Along with those, we even have those portable defib devices on the walls in my bldg. DC might be the exception, however. The Feds don't like people having heart attacks in their bldgs. In their defense, I would like to say that our Health, Life and Wellness group in our agency does a good job getting out info to folks about what to do in case of an emergency.

Luan, glad you were ok during the shaking up yesterday. The visual of you running to the doorway with granny woke me up better than my tea.. hehe.

Debi, I'm glad you were able to help the mama at the funeral home by being there. One of my friends said the worst part of her late term pregnancy failure was that no one would let her talk about the details after it was over. OMGosh about your sis in law!! I'm glad she's ok and no extra damage was found. I hope they find out why her minerals dropped so low. Scary stuffs!!

Realist, hugs to you! I can't rem if I captured your personal in my posts. Stop lurking so much.. hehe. You have lots to share!

Speaking of which, you lurkers (you know who you are) have lots of wisdom. Even if it's a one-liner, drop in to say Hullo :)

Luv to all,
Ratkity

JuleeCeeS 07-30-2008 11:25 AM

Luan....I am the Director of Youth Education & Programs at a synagogue in Valley Village (North Hollywood). Not currently in school. Thanks for the tip on MAc...out of curiosity, why don't you like it? I don't buy it often but they have a few eyeshadow colors that are nice and neutral and either make good bases or that I like for some pop near my lash line. I have no need for neon yellow shadow or liner :) Is the Gazelle still around?

We went out for a lovely dinner last night with friends. They were trying to find parking so the husband decided that parking in the strip mall across the stret would be fine...until their car got towed mid-dinner. By the time he ran across the street it was too late. The restaurant owner felt so badly for us he gave us all sorts of goodies (new restaurant) to take home. DH and I had walked to dinner from work sicne it was only about 1/2 mile away, so we all walked back and I took them to the tow yard which was nearby. The guys who worked there were total jerks and it was a good thing I waited around, because they were going to make my friend wait alone on the street while her hubby went inside to deal with paperwork. Why it took over 20 minutes I will never know...I guess they had to put in a Hot Pocket and turn on SportsCenter. In the end, the towing cost $191.70 and this was for barely an hour. There was a huge after hours fee (after 5pm) even though it was picked up after 6. Oh well...I was amazed at how calm they both were through it all...and he even fessed up during dinner that it was his fault. Impressive. Oh well....another day.

Hi to all...we're going back to WW tonight...again...ugh. Although someone at work told me yesterday I looked like I had been losing again. Methinks she needs glasses.

princesspuffypants 07-30-2008 12:36 PM

rat - lol its funny to me too

Julee - thier products are substandard at best. the face makeup is horrid. most people i know cant wear it without breaking out. the quality of the eyeshadows and other products have gone down over the years since it was bought out by estee lauder a few years ago. as for your studies - i meant like your tv show study and stuff like that. yes the gazelle is here. its not going anywhere. lol

JuliaDH 07-30-2008 12:39 PM

Luan - What are your fave products?

dogpal 07-30-2008 01:30 PM

Nancy: Great job going to the gym even when you didn't want to.

Julee and Luan: Glad you guys are okay and didn't get too shooken up!

Angels: How about crushing some ice with the lemon and maybe some sweet and low and water? Maybe like an icy lemonaid thing.

Carol: Woo hoo on the -2.75 release! Way to go.

Debi: So sad about the funeral for the baby. Hugs.

Well, off to a 2nd interview with a company I saw on Monday. We shall see.

At group last night there was a guy there that I had never seen before. He was about 2 years out of his surgery. He was quite talkative and giving advice etc. After the group I was walking out and he stopped me and started to talk to me about riding my bike etc. I spoke with him for a while and then excused myself to talk to the leader of the group who just so happens to be this guy's aunt. After talking to her for a minute I started to leave only to have this guy yell at me from across the room can he have my phone number so we can go riding sometime. I joked and told him that I couldn't keep up with him as I am very new to bike riding. He said that he would take it easy on me and wait for me and be patient. We laughed and I told him I would see him next week. I felt odd and when I got home I asked my hubby about it, the going riding with a stranger thing. My hubby called me niave (sp) and told me that the guy was hitting on me. I think he is right now, hind site and all. It has been so many years since a man, besides hubby has shown any interest in me. Now I feel weird about seeing him next week. I don't want to blurt to him Oh, I'm married! just in case I am wrong and DH is wrong. What should I do. Seriously? Maybe just see if he brings it up again and tell him that my husband wouldn't like me to ride with another man just the two of us unless there is a group or if my dh is there. What do you guys think?

Okay, Drama, drama, drama. lol.

Blessings all,
Annie

dgramie 07-30-2008 02:21 PM

annie_ sounds to me like he was hitting on you big time!! LOL Even though you arent interested its nice to be noticed. Take it as a compliment and then casually drop into conversation that your happily married. Most guys will back off then..most of them....lol

julee_ hope things go good tonight at WW. Maybe you have lost inches lately. It was nice of a co-worker to comment.

julia- how is your summer going?? Mine is just about over! I think I have friday off and then back to kids fulltime next week.

rat_ thanks so much for your concern over my sil. They are changing up some of her blood pressure meds to see if that might be what is depleting her minerals.

luan_ hope your having a great day.

carol - hugs

anne_ come out come out where ever you are...

debi

Heather 07-30-2008 02:27 PM

Hi all! Just a quick pop in!

I'm REALLY enjoying Croatia! Today we went on a boat ride (the boat owner is friends with our hosts) to see some islands, and swim... it was glorious!

Gotta run -- the sun is setting and friends are waiting!

texarkgal 07-30-2008 02:48 PM

Carol - WTG on the 2.75 release!!

Julee - I can't imagine being calm after having to pay that much for a tow charge, especially after dealing with a bunch of jerks. There must be a Jerks R Us employment agency to supply employees for towing companies and collection agencies lol. Props to the guy though for admitting it was his fault.

Rat - Hope the meeting and possible realignment doesn't adversely affect your job.

Annie - I think the guy was so hitting on you, lovely lady that you are. My suggestion that next week when he mentions the bike riding you slip in something like "I would really enjoy that, my husband's work schedule just doesn't allow us much time to ride together." or something like that. That will casually let him know you are married without being obvious about it.

Everyone try to stay cool and drink your water.

Ratkitten 07-30-2008 03:25 PM

Greetings all,

The meeting this morning was missing a pillow.. ZZZzzzzz. hehe. I work for the gov't, so my job security is never in question (well, as long as I do my job, keep the psychosis' down and show up, etc). Leadership was trying to be helpful, it just came out as um.. a waste of time. Oh well.

Annie, you were SO being hit on.. hehe. Too cute. It's not drama, just smile and do what everyone else has suggested. A subtle, yet obvious remark about being married is enough. Oh, and take it as a HUMONGOUS compliment!

OMGosh ProfHeather! You posted while on vacation!! Too cool that you did for us. I love hearing about vacation adventures. Be safe and have fun!

Hugs to all!
Ratkity

LitChick 07-30-2008 03:58 PM

Hello, Ladies!

Well, I'm back again, trying once more to live a healthy lifestyle. It's great to see so many familiar faces and hello to the new-to-me folks!

Lots been going on here over the past several months, which I've used as an excuse to slack in my exercise and eating habits, and have managed to gain back about 30 pounds of the 50 I'd lost last year. So, I'm back on the bandwagon, determined to make the last six months of this year healthier than the first six.

Hugs to you all and I'm so glad to be back among you and the support I missed while I was gone.

I've got to get back to work but I hope you're all having a great day!

JuliaDH 07-30-2008 05:31 PM

Bumblebee – Congrats on the better fit of clothes.
Nancy - Glad you got to the gym and had a good weekend with family & movies. Did you get to the gym yesterday?
Angels - Good job on releasing weight during vacation. Hope I am that lucky next week while we camp. Did you find that calorie free milkshake? Hope you got thru last night ok.
Catherine – I have never thought of spite shopping before. I usually leave and go back when the next shift comes back. Ewww about the 1st aid and coffee. I keep thinking about getting a mouth gaurd especially with doing home child care.
Anne- Where are you? Did the garden gobble you up?
Rat – Glad you tummy is feeling better. Glad that the meeting today was not a cr@p hit the fan kinda meeting.
Sharon – Hope your week is less stressful. Sending you best wishes for the job hunt.
Brandnewme – Did you get your apt repairs done?
Val – How are the horse shows going?
Jess8 –Show those scales who the is boss. That is the only option. I believe that you can do it! Just search for that extra bit of patience and then as the girls say here WOOOSH. Then a bunch of lbs just fall off when you least expect it. Do check that your at a good calorie level.
Debbie – My Dad use to bribe me to lose weight. “I’ll pay you X$ for Xlbs” or buy a car. None of these helped. Just made me resent him and felt like he could not accept me for me and on the flip side I had to accept him as an alcoholic. I hate double standards. That is a huge even in my marriage. When DH can do something that I cant. Like last week he wanted to drive somewhere out of the way. But when I want to its “OH aren’t we trying to save gas?. I don’t think that it is a case of love/caring less, but what the parent thinks he/she can do to get the adult child to do. You Dad probably knows you wont go for those offers.
To all in Cali – Glad you eh O K.
Juliee – I know what you mean when you finally get thru to DH. I get that way when I find out there are storms wherever DH is driving. I am a nervous wreck until I hear that he is either parked for the remainder of the storm or the storm is over. I don’t watch the weather where he goes as much. It gets the kids upset too. WOW your friends seem pretty mellow about the parking/towing thing.
Carol – Good job on the -2.75 gone!
Bernince - The grumpy fairy arrived here today. The kiddies are running all over my nerves. But there has been rain most of the day and have not been out to play! SOOO only a few more hours til bed time.
Luan – I nearly choked on my kiwi reading about you running to safety. That is a good reminder to shower in my swim suit when I go to cali.
Debi – Been praying for all your friends. I have the kids until Sept 2 when school starts back in. We go on holidays next week and that leaves 3 more weeks entertaining the kiddies. Then I get to rest again! My hours will drop from 12 hr days to 4 hour days. But that is ok. I rather the part time work. Then I get to go to school to volunteer. And exercise kid free from 1-3 each afternoon.
Annie - Your darling hubby is right along with the other opinions here. YOU got HIT ON! Take the compliment. Chances are he asked the group leader/aunt about you and knows already that you are married. That may take away any further invites. But enjoy the attention if it does not bother your hubby. He may like the little boost to his ego reaffirming that his hunny is hot!
Heather – Glad youre enjoying tour holidays!
Lesley – Hi I’m looking forward to getting to know you!

Sorry its long. But I had a few days worth to catch up on!

CatherineM 07-30-2008 06:19 PM

Julia-I have a mouth guard in my first aid kit now.

JuleeCeeS 07-30-2008 07:34 PM

Luan..silly me. I am on a few different lists with a few different companies. My 2 recent groups were held in Calabasas and at warner Bros. studios but that one was through a company based in Encino. I am still interested in the Gazelle...I could probably come down on Sunday or meet you somewhere if that would work.

Rain Dancer 07-30-2008 09:23 PM

Hi everyone. :D I received a very nice invite from Debi to join up, here. So, here I am. I am a calorie counter and hang there, as well. I like this part of the forums, too. I really like that there is specific support for people at all phases and weights.

I started out on June 4th at about 418 lbs. The weight on my ticker and profile was as of July 5th. I have lost more weight. I can see it in the way my body looks and how my clothes fit. I won't be changing the numbers on my ticker or profile often... I have scale issues. Silly, I know. I am trying to work through them. But right now, I am just happy to be getting results I can see and feel. They are the ones that count most, IMO. Numbers on a scale are a good way to see how things are going, but not the last word. :D

Anyway, hi. :)

RealCdn 07-30-2008 09:46 PM

Good evening everyone. I just seem to be unmotivated this week. I'm pushing through the workouts and the food is okay, but I feel like I'm going through the motions at the moment. That's okay though, since that feels like it's become a routine of sorts. I suspect it's got more to do with the iffy weather than anything else. I spent my rest day yesterday making jam and making a couple of different sauces for the freezer, so it's not like I haven't been busy. It just seems like the hours are flying past.

So, just a  to everyone, and I hope you're all doing well. Maybe I'll get my act together by the end of the week. :)

gggirls 07-30-2008 09:54 PM

Anne - I'm with you - I think it's the weather. We got 8 inches of rain out of Hurricane Dolly and we're over 1000 miles from south Texas. It had been grey and cloudy - not to mention cool before the skies opened. So when does school start - getting nervous? I also think it is great you were able to meet up with some fellow chicks.

Rain Dancer - welcome! I look forward to getting to know you.

Prof - now you go and enjoy your vacation! Sounds marvelous. Pics to share please.

That's it for me tonight - we are in major company prep - we very foolishly didn't ask for RSVP's for a Honeymoon Shower we are hosting on Saturday - over 80 are invited so I guess I will cook for about 60 and hope for the best. Tonight was fridge clean out - found a few science experiments. How many open bottles of ketchup do 2 people need?

Hugs to all,
Carol

Realist 07-30-2008 10:23 PM

Hi kids,

So, I am proud to say I will hit my 100 mile goal (exercise bike) this month (this is taking 35 miles in the last three days of the month...silly me), and I am setting 150 miles next month. I feel like I am hitting the stride. I have been consistently eating 1600 to 2000 calories (I really need to get closer to 2000, have been coming in low).

Work is...work. But it's fine. I have been working 10 to 12 hours a day, and still eating on plan and getting the exercise in. No complaints here.

As a side note, I am sneaking up on the 10% mark. Yahoo. That is pretty darn exciting to me.

Rat - Hiya. You are a star.

Carol - Thanks for keeping on touch with me. I tend to become a lurker when allowed to do so. By the way, the picture is still great. :)

Annie - Good luck on the job front. I hope you find the perfect job.

Nancy - Congrats on getting back in the flow of things. And congrats on a successful relationship.

So here is an issue I have. Yes, I have lots of them. When I post some personals, I feel like I owe everyone one. And well, that's just not going to happen. I am not that creative or motivated or something. So it is better to slight some, or all? :?:

With that, I am outta here.

Angie

JuliaDH 07-30-2008 10:31 PM

Angie - Do personals for who ever you want. Whenever you want. We just like hearing from you! Most of the time I do one or two liners. But then I have days like today I just wanted to blab. It was a good distraction from the kids arguing!

princesspuffypants 07-31-2008 02:33 AM

julia - it goes all across the board. for face, i like bare minerals, for eyes i like urban decay and hard candy. i also like the sephora branded makeup. its pretty inexpensive and works really well

Julee - i am shooting most of the day on sunday, but if i know when youre coming, i can sneak away since the shoot is only a few miles from my house. i will PM you my phone number. also, im interested in doing those studys if they are taking more people. can you send me info?

gggirls 07-31-2008 07:08 AM

Angie - post whatever you can. I'm like Julia - most of the time I don't have much to say so will just add a few - other times I just blab away. Mostly though please keep in touch so we know how you're doing. And you're welcome not to mention the big congrats on sneaking up on that 10%. I thought I would never get there personally and then the second 10% seemed so quick and I'm in self-imposed maintenance right now so the third isn't moving much.

Penny - where are you? Oh by the way - water?

Move your bodies, drink your water and SMILE.

Hugs to all,
Carol

dgramie 07-31-2008 07:10 AM

dancer_ welcome...I hope you enjoy being here as much as i do!!I have made the most wonderful friends here and gotten wonderful support not just with my dieting but with whatever life thows my way. These woman really care about each other!!

I just realised yesterday that i have been dieting for 6 months already. I knew I was on week 26 but never really thought of it in months until someone at the funeral asked me yesterday how long i had been dieting. I said 26 weeks and they said wow you have lost almost 60 lbs in 6 months...duh I hadnt realised it had been 6 months already. Just having fun and enjoying my friendships here and had been keeping up with the weeks in my notebook. LOL
shows how times flies when your having fun!!
thanks for the wonderful support!! I cant wait to see what WE can lose in the next 6 months!!
hugs

Ratkitten 07-31-2008 07:55 AM

Greetings my peeps!

My atomic clock decided to reset itself back 2 hours and then set itself for PM. Something messes with the radio frequency every now and then. Luckily, I have 2 dog alarms and one cat alarm. The bird alarm doesn't start going off until the cat and dogs are taken care of... he just wants a treat, but he's way louder than the rest! Amazing noises can come out of a parrot with those tiny lungs.

See Realist? Just rambles.. hehe. But I love the rambles of people. I love the silly little life stuff that people share. Luan is doing a shoot a few miles from her house? Way cool! DH taking pictures of Annie and her furbabies.. priceless :) DMPLS and her chaotic household and Catherine and Himselfs adventures at the mall... luv it!

Rain, welcome!! Don't worry about personals. Just tell us about yourself and ramble (like I told Realist).

Debi, wanna know how long I've been doing this? Four years last April.. Four years?! Yup. It's been 4 years since I've gained anything major. Well, there was an off period where I gained 20 lbs in a month.. ack! got back on quick. Know what? those times happen and it's a part of getting healthy, right Nancy and LitChickie? Hugs! Things go way smoother when friends are there to help with life stuff.

Welcome back Lit!!

Julia, my dad did the same thing .. bribing for pounds lost. He didn't understand that there was nothing external that could make me lose weight.

Anne, ya can't feel "full" of the healthy lifestyle feeling all the time! Sometimes, we all just go through the motions. Just keep going!! I'll cheer you on :)

GGG, cooking for 60, eep!! Hahahaha about the ketsup. I am the condiment queen. My thing is different types of mustard. I think there are 8 or 9 different open mustards in the frig door right now.

Well, I think I'm awake now. Time to go to work and try to get my project done by my deadline on Friday.

Hugs to all!

Went back to WW last night....I am going the wrong way. All I have done this summer is gain..and that comes from zero effort on my part. I am not happy so it's time to re-evaluate and see what I can do to fix this. It was nice though becuase an old friend of ours from our meting came back last night and we had not seen her in months. The last time we saw her her father had passed away and then she broke her ankle and she just sort of stayed home and ate about it. In March she was 2 days away from Lap-Band surgery and chickened out...now she is back and we can all work together. I know I can do this...

Luan I will give you a call in a day or so. If this weekend is too chaotic we can reschedule. I'd come down on Saturday but I am slammed that day. No worries!

Do you guys ever get that feeling after having a good week, that it was a fluke, or that something is getting ready to mess it up? I'm finally feeling settled here, and have a schedule, and I feel like I'm just waiting for something to screw it up. In the past, it would be time for a party or trip, but since I have put a moratorium on those, I'm much calmer. When you've had a brain injury, you are constantly afraid that you've forgotten something or will misplace something, so having the house organized, and having my schedule fixed is every bit as important an accommodation as a wheelchair ramp is to someone in a chair. It's my version of a pantry purge. I needed it in place before I could focus on staying OP, and since I have it, sticking to the diet has gotten routine for me again. God, I hope it lasts.

Carol, just gotta say, the pic with you in the dress, you look so pretty!!! I think all the exercise is paying off cuz you look small!!

Debi, that's so wonderful that you've lost so well in those 6 months!! Keep it up!

Ratkity, have you tried the honey mustard? O my gosh! It is SO good!!!

toofatforu, congrats on the -10

Catherine, hope it lasts for you too!

There's a rant coming.......
Well, ok, I'm coming clean. I've got to get my act together. I've been fooling myself for a few months now. I haven't put in my all to lose weight. I've gained, and I'm ashamed to admit it. I'm back up to 291. UGH!! TOM is here AGAIN!!! I think the ups and downs and ups and downs have done my system in.
Sooooooooooo, with that said, I'm smacking myself up side of the head with a "What the heck are you doing to your body" question in my mind, and getting myself back on track as of today. I'm not waiting for Jim to go back to work,(he's been on vacation) I'm not going to buy that one last large Peanut M&M bag so I can dump it in the large Chex mix bag and pig out with a big glass of diet soda (like the diet soda does any good with a big bag of junk). I'm going to make sure I have fruits and veggies on hand at all times, and not allow all the crap back in. I'm going to start journaling again, and write down every last thing that passes these lips,I'm going to exercise daily, even if it kills me. I've worked way to hard to start gaining it back and feeling lousy while doing it. So, that's it. I would love to at least get to 250 by the end of the year. I don't want to go back on the meds that I fought so hard to get off of, cuz I can actually "feel" my blood pressure going up, and it's not a good thing.
With all that said, I feel better just owning up to what I've done to myself. I'm ready to kick some butt, mine.
Thanks for listening once again.
Hope everyone is moving and groovin'
Debbie

Heather: I am so happy that you posted. I have been wondering about you. Thank you for taking a minute to tell us you are fantastic and enjoying your trip!

Rat: Sorry that meeting was a bore. lol.

Debi, Johnnie, Julia: Thanks for helping this dummy know what to do. I will be sure to mention Joel if he does bring it up again. lol.

Leslie: Welcome back. Sorry you have gained a bit but at least you are back and back on track! Hugs to ya.

Rain Dancer: Welcome. I'm sure you will love it here. I adore these ladies and we are like a group of friends with something big in common. The support is amazing. Congrats on the weight you have lost so far.

Anne: Hugs sweetie.

Carol: I hope your party is wonderful as I'm sure it will be. You guys sure know how to throw a party don't you! I wish I could be with you and crash it. lol.

Angie: Woo hoo on the 100 miles goal being met! That is awesome. Don't fret about personals. Write when and to whom you choose. No one will feel slighted I'm sure. We all have things going on in our lives that we like to share and comment on. Some of us have more time than others. Some of us are more chatty than others (points to self). lol.

Bernice: Oh, I am so sorry about your keys getting a road trip. Hugs. Maybe you can find something around the house to keep you busy.

Patti: Woo hoo on loosing 10! Way to go hun.

Julee: It is so frustrating when we go the wrong way. Hugs. I'm proud of you though for not giving up. Good job.

Catherine: I honestly know how you feel. Hang in there and just try to enjoy the wonderful moment. You can do it! Great job being op.

DH forgot his phone this morning and needs it. lol. It is sitting on the counter so at 11:30 I am going to take it to him at work. Maybe spend some time with him for a bit on his lunch 1/2 hour. I weigh daily, crazy making. Lol. I am up 1/2 pound. Hopefully it is water weight. I went to Victoria's Secret yesterday and bought myself some lotion. It smells wonderful. It is called "Love Spell". I really like it and I feel so girly with it on. lol. I also purchased a cheap fake wedding ring from "Icing" It was only $7.50 but it is much more obvious than the tiny gold band I was wearing. My other rings are way too big for me now and I don't want to get them resized until I get to my goal weight. Hopefully this will help anyone who thinks I am lonely or alone. lol.

I hope you all have a wonderful day.
Blessings,
Annie

Debbie: Hugs hun. Glad to see you back and great job "confessing". I really believe that if we keep things in that we are doing, things we feel are a secret then they eat at us and build and snowball. Confessing things makes us free and then our minds can't hold it against us. You are doing the right thing to be accountable. I am proud of you. So you have gained back a bit. Now you can reverse that. You have the perfect attitude about your health. So, hugs and welcome back to the wagon! We are all rolling along in it together and when one of us slips the others will reach down and her up. You only have to yell, "Hey, I'm slipping here". Hugs.

Blessings to you,
Annie
