JuliaHood -- DDR is Dance Dance Revolution -- a game for a lot of game systems. I play on Wii.

The radio interview. When we got up on Friday, the phone was out. The company was upgrading the lines, but hadn't told us. They said the phone would be out until 2pm. I was delighted since the reporter was supposed to call at 1pm. I completely relaxed. Then, the phone got fixed a 12:45. So I only had 15 minutes to panic before he was supposed to call. Then he didn't call. I ended up getting a free pass. I'm not upset in the least.

Greetings Chickies!
I've not done too hot today with good choices. I decided to write and make myself accountable! My old man Captn kitty (19 yrs old) has a tumor on his lower jaw. I took him to the vet this morning first thing. He hasn't been eating well and getting thinner. I've been feeding him his favorites. The vet said he was dehydrated, but I know he drinks and tinkles all the time. They took blood and will give a definitive diagnosis on Monday, but his kidneys and liver are prolly having issues. The lump is an oestosarcoma (bone tumor). It's not hurting him, so we are gonna watch him. They gave him fluids and fed him a half a can of food and he scarfed it down like he was starving. Silly kitty. He's been making me hand feed him!! We are home now and he's feeling better. Never a dull moment! The news could have been worse and the doctor was encouraged da silly cat was eating this other food. While I was waiting for him, I didn't get a bicycle ride in. I will do DDR later :) Heather, you'll be in basic in NO time!! I have a time getting the 1/8th note steps in. DMPLS, for some reason, knowing details about why things are difficult helps me deal with disappointment when I feel weight loss is too slow. You are doing wonderful!!! Hang in there! Yay debi on your release! Have a great time at the movies :) Hello Jar, check in more often! Southern, WOW! That's a major release! Congorats to you! Merksie, I love your deficit calculations. You are doing well! Julia, I absolutely love my speedometer/odometer. I can get obsessed with it so I set it on "time ridden" and check my average speed and distance at the end. I know that between 45-50 min is about 10 miles for me. BTW, speedometers are fairly cheap and you don't have to get the expensive ones! They run about $20-25. Wow about your clients. I'd have dropped them as clients for that behavior, but you must be more tolerant than me! Hugs and luv to all, Ratkitten |
Catherine, yay for dodging the interview (um, I think! hehe). I practice avoidance on a regular basis. I've been told it's not the healthiest thing, but it's nice when stuff works out in your favor.
Hugs, Rat |
Debi - WOOOOOHOOOOOOO to you - how awesome for you! I'm so proud of you.
Catherine - glad you dodged him - I'm loving the book - I was able to sit by or in the pool all day - I can't put it down. Rat - hugs to you and the kitty. Your love for him is wonderful to see. As a pet person I can so feel for you. Prof - are you relaxing any yet? Debbie - how was the weather - it was gorgeous here today - upper 80's - great pool day. Julia - I'm assuming these are now ex-clients. Great job on not letting them get to you. JAR - great to see you - stop in more often. Bernice - thanks for the info - haven't had a chance to read it yet but it always helps me to understand the "why". The pics of DH are amazing - what a difference. Luan - hugs - were you able to meet up with Annie? I know I'm missing some - hugs to all - I'm working from memory. It's great being home - DH asked me if I like the lake or the pool better - what a question - I couldn't answer. I do know that away from home I am not drinking enough water and I feel it. Also - today was the session with my trainer prior to his skin removal surgery for about 2 months. I have challenged myself to lose 10 pounds before he is back. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend. Hugs to you all. Carol |
Hey all I have been missing you. I am back on now but it will be sparingly. We are busy fighting flood waters all around us if anyone has heard the news! My town is safe but all around us are having some major problems. I spent Thursday night pumping water out of the basement until 3 a.m. and went to work at 6:45. That was a long day. My rural mail carrier was unable to go home because of all the road closings. He could go, but it would be almost 150-200 miles out of the way to get there and the price of gas, he is staying here until he can go home. He is sleeping in our camper. Hubby said we aren't camping anyway until the 4th of July, so he might as well. This week eating has been well, but I know I haven't gotten my water in. Hubby is stuck in Texas until after this next weekend. Anyway I have weigh-in in the morning so I am hoping for a loss.
Carol-I hope these flood waters are not coming close to you! They are nasty. Luan-You should try to make some of your own family traditions. Make it good for you. You deserve a good holiday. |
the movie was funny but a little bit akward with our kids even though they are adults. Alot of sex in the movie or the implying of sex.
Red lobster was awesome and i stayed on my plan until the way home when hubby stopped and got a coke and some nuts...(my weakness in life). I drank my water and ate way to many nuts. Guess i could have done alot worse than nuts!! It was great having all the kids together tonight. We really had a great time!!!! Im heading off to bed. debi |
Good Morning Ladies!
Well it is a good weigh-in day. I lost 2 lbs., that is a total of "50"! YEAH ME!!!! I want to say Happy Father's day to all the men, hope your day goes well. I am kinda bummed that I won't get to spend time with dad today because of all the flood waters around and mileage I would have to go way out of the way to get there. The price of gas my dad understands but it doesn't feel right. He always has a huge bar-b-que with the family and relatives and in-laws all come. He was even going to grill some salmon, which is totally awesome! And the hubby is not home so the girls are a little upset, but will yak at him on the phone. We will have a good day. They haven't awakened yet to weigh-in but I am sure they did well too. I will let ya know. |
Happy Father's Day to all!
Penny and anyone else in the way of the flood waters.. Dry thoughts to you!!! Penny, I hope you got some rest after pumping out the basement all night. I have 2 sump pumps and a french drain system around the house. The only problem is when the power goes out, but I have a generator system to take care of that. It's not fancy, but works great. My youngest sister got the greatest card for my dad. It says "I got a great sign for you to wear all day long on your special day" and the sign says "I'm the Boss!" There's a tab on it that says to give it back to Mom at the end of the day. hehe. Dad and Mom are going to older sister's house today (they are all in NC) for grilling and home made ice cream. He's getting a digital frame pre-loaded with family picts! Big sis made some of dad's fav chili and thought she was decreasing the spiciness by dropping the jalapenos from 19 to 6. Well.. apparently the peppers were EXTRA hot and it came out as hot as usual!! eep! She was bummed about it and I told her to imagine if she put 19 in there, she'd have killed our Dad.. she got a good laugh out of that. Youngest sis and I went out to Chevy's (texmex place) last night (she lives in DC area with me) and shared a plate entree and some guacomole. Stayed under points/calories and drank water. Scale is a little up today, but expected... I'm not fretting. Speaking of scale fluctuations, I'm doing so much better these days not fretting over them. I might have to re-read my favorite webpage "Why the Scale Lies" http://www.primusweb.com/fitnesspart...ight/scale.htm , but am generally doing well watching net losses over time. Hugs to all today! Ratkity |
I think my body is responding to "eating better quality". I've been eating apples, carrots, whole grain breads and trying to switch my protein percentage up and the carb percentage down. I've lost 2 pounds this week doing that! :carrot:

Penny - stay safe - we are OK here so far. I certainly saw too much flooding in southern Missouri on my way back from the lake. What a great job you are doing - big CONGRATS on your achievements!
Heather_DW - glad to see you changing up your routine with positive results. Our bodies know what is best - even if it isn't what the mind wants. Hiya Rat - 19 jalapenos - I love hot but that might be too much for me - guess it depends on the size of the barrel. We raised thai jalapenos one year - I hadn't realized how much hotter they were. Bike ride today? I hope you all enjoy your day! Hugs, Carol |
great job heather Dw I knew it would work!!
Penny_ awesome on the 50lbs mark!! I am right with you!! My next goal is to get under 250 which is just 6lbs away. rat_ I just now saw that you have lost so much weight..I am so proud of you!! wow your sisters chilli must be hot. My peppers are blooming but no peppers on them yet..we have jalapona and sweet bananna peppers. I do have a bell pepper ready to pick and 2 grape tomatoes. I also picked some squash this morning...it was little but i am having trouble with bloom end rot. I decided to pick them before they start to rot!! LOL I cooked them for breakfast...YUMMY!! julia_ i am lucky I havent had issue like that in a while. I have good parents now.I find keeping school teachers kids work best for me. I know it is stressful when you feel taken for granted!!!! BEEN there done that!!! Hugs!!! hope everyone has an awesome day. Not sure what we are going to do. A day at home sounds great to me!!! debi |
Morning Ladies...
penny: You are in my thoughts for the flooding. A friend of mine at work, her brother lives in cedar Rapids and has lost his business. I guess his home s in another town so that part is safe!! So sad..yall are flooding and out here we are Dry as can be!! UGH! Heather_dw: glad to see ya back in the group! WTG on your weightloss so far. After being out of the gym for over a week due to dear TOM extending his visit..MONDAY I will be back at it..with full avengience!! I actually missed going. Hubby and kids continued to go even though I could not. SOooooo watch out Treadmill here I come! As for father's day we are staying in. It is suppose to be 112 today no outside for meeeee!!! |
Ratkity, I can't seem to get past basic either. I get too frustrated when I can't keep up. One of these days I'm gonna do it!!
Yea! For Capn kitty eating. He knows you'll hand feed him and that's why he can get away with it. LOL. Our furbabies are just that, babies!! Hopefully he's on the mend and will keep improving. Heather, yep, it is hard to do anything harder than basic. I laugh alot too and keep saying " Are they serious?" Debi, YAY on the 2lbs gone and making it to 50lbs lost. Now just don't go out and find them, ok? Jeanne, love the new avatar! SouthernGal, WhhooooooHooooooo!!! Wow!! 7.8 lbs gone!! That's fantastic Ria, good to hear your following a "semi-version" of SB. Maybe we can compare notes. I'm doing ok on it so far. Just one day without bread for me is hard though, but I did it. I've cut out fruit for the time being too. I can't wait to get all the right stuff this weekend. It's always exciting to start something new and helps with the motivation. Julia, geeze, how old are those people? And they're raising a kid? I'm glad you handled it so well and didn't give them satisfaction of being bothered by it. Catherine, um...so I'm guessing that was a good thing? LOL Maybe he'll surprise you and call today! Carol, the weather was fantastic yesterday and looks to be the same today. We got all the mowing, weeding, moving rocks, and making pathways done. Jim is going to get on the riding lawnmower to do my Mom's today. I'm going to be stuck inside doing laundry and cleaning house. I'll take breaks to get out in the sunshine though. Glad your having beautiful days too. I know what you mean about being away from home and not getting all the water in. I'm the same way when ever my usual routine is not done. All we can do is make up for it when it's back to normal. Penny, hopefully the flood waters won't get any closer to you. It's so scary how the weather is changing everywhere. Take car and be safe. YAY on the 2lbs gone!! Heather dw, Hey that's really great news. I'm glad you found something that works for you. Keep up the great work, and it's great to see you posting here again. Well, I'm off to get some breakfast and then start the laundry. I might have to go out and admire all the work we did yesterday. I just love it when it looks like a park out there! have a wonderful day Debbie |
