I've got a 5-mile one and I think it's 14-min, 10-min, ?12 or 14-min, 12-min, 12-min for each of the 5 miles. I'd have to put the DVD in to figure out the middle mile (but let's call it 13).

The 5-miles adds up to 61 mins, which makes sense as the DVD run time is a few minutes longer (titles and cool down stretch). The 3-mile walks on the DVD were just under 40 mins. I can walk a long time at a slower pace, but I definitely couldn't keep up for the constant faster paces of the DVD. Since I know I'm finding the treadmill easier, I suppose I should go back to using the DVD a little more often. :o I just won't count doing less than 90 mins (which I do on the treadmill) as a failure.

Sandy:

I make turkey meatloaf and toss in spinach and brown rice instead of bread crumbs. I also grab whatever spices are handy and sometimes mix in some BBQ sauce. DH loves it..in fact that is tonight's dinner...unless I decide that I do not have to cook and heat up the apartment when it is 95 degrees outside and then we will make other plans. I'm kind of on a food OD right now...enough already.

We almost bought a GPS today when we were by the mall. The Shaper Image near us is going out of business and they had a good one for $139...but it turned out they actually had not updated their computer and the only one of that model they had was an out-of-box model...no thanks. Not even at that price.

I got some drops for my eye thing...it's still reddish but not as red as it was...and it's a littel burny...but I am thinking that it's a mild infection from wearing my contacts for...a month.

Oops.

Sandy, it's so good to see you posting. Sounds like things are just crazy right now for you. Hope it all settles down soon. Take care of yourself and have a safe trip.

Luan, what you said is soooooooooo true!

Catherine, so glad you got to go out and enjoy the sun

heather dw, HURRAYYY!! for you on the 16lbs gone forever!!

Bernice, YAY on getting the 5k done. I've done a mile on the treadmill but my belt is slipping so I'm going to pop in a 2 mile WATP dvd and finish up. I'll just walk extra to make up the .1 part of it.

HI Ratkity, glad to see you posting!!

Anne, sounds like you've got yourself quite a few pieces of clothing. It is so hard to get used to things that fit better on us. I'm having issues with my skinny jeans...lol if you want to call them that. The legs are just tighter than I'm used to, but Jim says they look just fine. So I have to get brave and wear them outside. It's so nice that you'll have so many things to wear that were too tight before but fit great now. :woohoo:

Carol, It is weird how the miles go quicker on WATP dvds than it does on the treadmill. I don't get that either. Good luck on the MP3, I don't even own one. LOL

Gotta run and make dinner. Things are fine here. Been working on the woodcutting and plan to try and get further on the afghan before the weather changes too drastically. We're back to rain today.
Gotta do two more miles to finish the 5k. I think I'll be doing it with a 2 miler WATP. My belt is slipping on the treadmill.
toodles

Hi everyone,

I did the 5k too. I went hiking at one of my favorite spots. Since my usual hike there is about 5k, I decided to go a little further in the name of making today's hike special for the event. I went about 4 miles, and my knee told me it was time to stop. It was a very enjoyable walk. It's warm here today, in the 80s, and the hike is mostly shaded so it wasn't too bad. Any hotter and I don't like it.

I haven't had the greatest eating weekend, but I'll be alright. I know the drill.

Julee: I also had a red, burning eye problem. Mine cleared up in a couple of days. I was worried that it was pink eye, but whatever it was sorted itself out.

Congrats to all the losers and the gals doing well OP. Hugs to the strugglers.

dgramie 04-13-2008 07:06 PM

Well kids are gone and im on the depressed side. I hate when they only stay a few short hours. Hubby and i went for our walk but only made it half of the 5K. Its freezing outside and we are going to warm up and then go back and finish up. I think we still enough time before dark.I am not really up to doing the whole thing straight thru without the break.
I ate a bit much at lunch but still within my calories.Just felt really full.

hubby is ready to go again...be back later.

Carol-yeah it takes awhile to rip the songs off of a CD but shouldn't take too long to sync them.....also if you don't want a certain song on your MP3 player you should be able to click on the on that one title and delete. What program are you using to rip/sync your music with? I use ITunes for my IPod and the software that came with Dh's MP3 player he got .........but most MP3 players you can just drag and drop MP3s to it like a flash drive. If you need some help I might be able to assist you. Just PM me.

Debi-your lunch sounded wonderful! I know how you feel about the kids only being there for a few hours! My DD drove my youngest daughter home today and she ate dinner with us and I'm making a Tshirt for her friend's bday and then she is off to her dorm.......she has an early class tomorrow and doesn't want to leave at 6am LOL

Sandy-AWESOME on the NSV!!!! I've started noticing my bras fitting me looser ......I have taken to just fastening them on the smallest hook(just a few months ago I had to buy extenders) I have been looking at sports bras for when I walk LOL don't need any black eyes! hehhee

Sharon-yes I love that boy! LOL he is the perfect son even with his faults LOL I can't wait to see him!

Heather-awww thanks.....not better.....just stubburn! LOL I wanted to do it all at once and just kept telling myself that I could do it! Even when my weaker self kept saying "No one will know if you don't do it or stop in the middle" I kept thinking I WILL KNOW! LOL I'm not really weird, talking to myself and all, really I promise!!!

Rat-yeah he gets an A+ from his Mommy! LOL

Anne-that is awesome that you when shopping in your closet! I still have to go through alot of stuff.....I didn't get through everything from the attic.....DD left for her sisters and I got lazy LOL cleaned but didn't finish my task....so looks like I will be working on it evenings for this week! I did manage to find two pairs of dress slacks for DH and a really nice nightie I completely forgot I had.....DH liked it the other night LOL it is really LOOSE but looks great!!! I remember when I got it (our 20th renewal of our vows) 4yrs ago and it fit snuggly! The DVD I have is Leslie Sansone Walk at Home 3mile weight loss walk its a power walk and it breaks at 1mile & 2mile then after the 3mile there is a cool down, which till today I didn't even know exsisted!!!! LOL I really like it the first mile is fairly simple......2mile is faster and the 3rd has alot more knee lifts & back kicks etc.....I think what I might do is do the 2mile and then go back to the 1mile to do 3miles next time.....the 3rd mile kicked my tooshie! at least till I can do a consistant 3mile!

Julee your turkey meatloaf sounds delicious!! I may have to give it a try! I got a TomTom a few months back.....I love it! although out where we live there are some connecting roads for the Interstate that are not on maps so I have to manually set those, but now that I did that they are in there! I really like mine.....I have already looked up the address for DS's graduation and its in there!! We are driving up 2 days early so we can get a good nights sleep after driving and then the day before is family day.........I can't wait!

Battle-sounds like your view was much more gorgeous than mine on the 5K!!! mine was the living room and had to keep kicking the dogs out of my way!! LOL never fails when I pop in my DVD they want to be under my feet the entire time!! LOL

Well I think I pretty much caught up LOL if I missed you sorry....just a little distracted creating the graphic for DD's friend's shirt at the same time LOL

Im home from finishing the 5K. It was nicer walking here in town. The wind isnt as bad and the roads are flatter. NOt sure what our time was. Feels good to know we did it. Hubby is eating something now because his glucose was down to 52. He goes to the dr in the morning to get rechecked.he has been having alot of low readings.
Well im off to bed soon. Got to get a few things done for tommorow. My little ones comes early this week.

I just completed the first 3FC 5K!!! It took me 54 minutes flat. I did 1.1 mile on the treadmill but then my belt started slipping so I went and did the 2 miler with WATP. I'm so proud of myself because I really didn't think I could do it and would give up...but I didn't!!!

Bernice, I was thinking of not doing it at all but then my weaker self told me the same thing your weaker self told you, that I didn't have to do it, no one would know, but like you said, I WOULD KNOW!! Be proud of yourself too, my friend, you did awesome.

Now I'm going to go get my crocheting and get that afghan done!!!

Carol - it's been a long time since I transfered all my songs over, but the slower ripping time could be from a slower DVD/CD drive. Syncing can be faster because the songs are smaller at that point. Good luck! It's funny how we can talk outselves in to fitness purchases. I wasn't going to buy the heart rate monitor but then I figured that I was putting so much into this, why not? Your MP3 player and your aqua fitness equipment will give you lots of pleasure. Just don't wear the MP3 player in the pool. :nono:

Debbie/Bernice -
it got worse with the clothing. I knew when I was finished that I was missing some items. I found a box of work clothing that I’d boxed up before our trip last year. Mostly stained (we had two chemicals, one that bleached, one that left a dark mark on things), and a few rips, but probably suitable for yard work. So, even though I’d done all my laundry early, I’m back on Sunday night doing laundry. I just took the first load out and there are 4 t-shirts I never wore. Partly because of the chemicals (why bother replacing the old marked ones when they were just going to look the same), and partly because they were tight. I'm only about maybe 10 pounds lighter than that point but they're almost to the point that I would wear them. So perhaps during the summer I'll get a chance to. If nothing else I've now got a few old t-shirts for the garden and a couple of pairs of pants for the garden until it's warmer out. Tomorrow I'll double-check the pants as one or two of them might be suitable for general wear as well. And the box had underwear, bras, and socks. We had people staying in the house while we were gone so I'd tried to make room in the drawers and closet. It just made sense at the time to dump them into a box and store them in the crawl space. I definitely should make the fall with clothes to spare... maybe loose, but plenty of them!

And to those who did the 5K today :running: :woops:- a big congrats. I should have been more organized and done it myself, but I just needed my rest days this weekend. Now I'm off to sleep to try and start waking up at a reasonable hour.

DMPLS 04-13-2008 11:20 PM

Debbie whacha crocheting??? I have several baby blankets I need to get started on!!! LOL I have two done maybe I'll take a picture and post them....I've also been working on one for DH hmmmmm lets see maybe going on 5 or 6 years LOL its very monotanious One side design so I only do one line then CUT and start again at the begining....also I've already made this blanket once for him.....he(with my permission) gave it away to a woman that treated us like we were her kids.....and I promised him that I would make him another....LOL I better get it done....I have several projects I need to start on....I want to make heart sachets for my son's wedding, I have 2 yrs (no date set yet) but they are two pieces done with thread it takes me about 30mins to make one but they will have to be sewn together and stuffed with popuri and ribbons etc.....my mom made them for everyones weddings(not mine since we eloped) and I would like to continue the tradition.....my oldest nephew just had a baby and I need to mail his blanket out(another one of my mom's traditions that I want to continue)

Hi All~

DMPLS ~ Thanks much. :)

RealCdn ~ Thanks. :) Yeah, I have seen my doctor about the ankle. She said it could take weeks, months, or even years to heal completely. I just have to be careful not to "roll" it as to injure it again/any further. I would try swimming, but the pool in the complex that I live in is closed at the moment and once it's open, it is usually infested by little kids that think it is a huge toilet. :/ Never could figure that one out. I'll ask my WLSurgeon when I see him this week if he has any other suggestions for exercise as well. :) After reading your post from today, I am beginning to think that I might need to go through and try on some of the clothes that have been hanging in my closet because they got a wee bit too tight a few years ago. :) Thanks for the inspiration. ;)

Debbie54 ~ Thanks. :) I didn't think that I had been gone that long until I saw the little "You last visited" thing and it was from February. :o *giggles*

Brandnewme ~ So sorry to hear about your loss.

heather_dw ~ Congratulations! :) :carrot: :carrot:

Well, after the evening I had on Friday, I decided to take it rather easy this weekend. According to both my boyfriend and doctor, I have skills since I minorly injured my back while driving. Not in an accident, not getting out of the car, but sitting there driving. I spent Friday on the run for a majority of the day, doctor's appointment, getting my hair re-dyed (I got red chunky highlights in February, then they were stripped down to a coppery brown when I permed my hair a few weeks later. :/), got my nails done and to top off the evening, my mother and I took my son to the circus. I have to say that for his first "real" circus, that was one heck of a show. :)

I hope everyone had a good weekend.

As always, I hope everyone is doing well and if not, you are in my prayers.

Anne, Are you smothered in clothes yet? I have some bigger t shirts and sweats that I'm keeping just for around the house and for working outside. I hate to use my good clothes for that kind of thing, so it's a good idea that you're keeping the stained up stuff just for that purpose.

Bernice, it's a blanket that my hubby claimed as his this weekend. It's just a bunch of yarn that I had leftover from different blankets I've made in the past and just wanted to use it up. I've given buckets of yarn away or sold on ebay, but for some reason had these left here. I'm doing it in a chevron pattern. I'm about 1/2 way done with it because Jim wants it really long. I only wish I knew he was going to claim it because I would of made it wider too, but it should go over him nicely.
That's so sweet that you are continuing your mother's traditions of doing the sachets and the blankets. I'm sure everyone that receives one will think of her when they get it.
The room your DD did, looks fantastic! Man she did a wonderful job on that! She should get an A+++++

Story, yeah woman, you've been gone awhile. Sure hope that ankle heals up one of these day! Sounds like you deserved a nice weekend for a change. I bet your son really enjoyed the circus.

I'm moving slower and slower after doing that exercise. I think I'm going to go take a hot shower, read a bit and pass out.
niters
