Default anyone using a recubant bike or have experience with one ?

I am searching for exercise equipment that I can safely use. I have really torn up knees and need to add some exercise to my day but am struggling to find something I can do that will add muscle strength to my thighs. I feel if I can strengthen my upper legs my walking will improve

I was looking at these recumbent bikes and wondering what any of you might have used them or have an opinion re them..I don't' want to waste a lot of money if it is something that is not really helpful

Thx Renita

Hi Renita:

I too have bad knees, and I really like the recumbent exercise bike at my gym. It's less pressure on the bad bits of me, and nothing goes numb! It's also better for my back, etc., I think.

I have a recumbent bike as well as trouble with my knees. I have not had any pain while using it.

Default good things

when i started exercising at the gym a few years ago, the trainer put me on a recumbent first thing for cardio and my knees were achey at the time but it didn't bother them unless the bike wasn't adjusted right for me, which i learned how to do. it's a good place to start. it's good to build up your thigh muscles because they're some of the largest in the body and will use up more calories just by being there.

I have a recumbent bike, for the most part I really like it. I had surgery to mend an ACL in my knee and it bothered me for awhile, but I eventually got over some of the pain. I haven't been on it for few months and need to get back to it. Thanks for triggering the thought to pull it out again.
