Just popping in to say that I just got a phone call from my PCP's nurse practitioner. Apparently my TSH levels are going in the wrong direction!! Gee...I could have told them something was off!! ;) So now my PCP is going to up my dosage of my levothyroxine...to what I do not know. The NP asked if I was skipping doses....Ummm....NO, but I was thinking that if I continue to feel the way I do, I might! LOL! Don't worry...I won't!!
Apparently, I was not imagining this whole thing! |
Vicki -- I think the fit is both personality and how they train. Do check out that thread!

Hey everyone,
Hurray, it's Friday. I am tired and am thinking of taking off a little early this afternoon. My big plan is to go to Trader Joes, which is a little out of the way, and then come home and clean, so that the weekend will be free of chores. Tomorrow is the photo shoot for one of the films I'm working on. It's been delayed a couple of times. Getting to the site will require a strenuous walk up Telegraph Hill in San Francisco, and I feel prepared for the task. My part in the video will be a scant 30 seconds, and I have to come up with something to say. As I am the business manager, I don't need to be too clever or witty, so the pressure's off : ) . I've also decided that no matter how big I look on the video I am not going to view it with or carry around negative thoughts about myself. I'm hanging in doing ok with food and exercise. Tomorrow will be really busy with not a lot of opportunities for overdoing it, so I'm looking forward to enjoying a lower challenge day for a change. Peggy: Now that they've found what you already know, let's hope a medication adjustment will help you to feel better. Vicki: wow, 7 lbs. for TOM! I would freak out, too. I've noticed that I am retaining less water since starting my eating plan. But, I don't even go near the scales until I feel that some of the monthly retained water is gone. I know it won't do me any good to see the gain, even if intellectually I know the water weight is to be expected. Lindsey: have a great weekend. Everyone else: Enjoy your Friday, and have a great OP weekend. |
Meta: You have come so far. I looked at your ticker and it is amazing! You must be so proud of yourself sweetie. I know that I am sure proud of you!
Val: How bout you? Did you see a loss? I hope so but, if not there is another Thursday just around the corner. Hugs. Story: Wow congrats on another -7 pounds. You are doing so well. Lindsey: Have a safe and fun time with the "boy" lol. Vicki: your photos are amazing. You look like a whole different person. Pretty before but even more beautiful now. We did like the gym and joined it. I swam for 30 minutes and did 5 minutes on the bike. I had already lifted weights with the personal trainer at the other gym so by the time I got there in the afternoon I was really wiped out. I am taking the day off today except the walking I did and I am going to go in the morning to work out. Patti: Hi hun. Peggy: I hope your TSH levels come up really soon. Hugs to you. Battle: Have a super great weekend. Ammi and Sharon: where are you ladies? Hugs to you both. Well, Nap time for me. lol. Blessings all, Annie |
BattleAX - You're doing a film in San Francisco?? DH - Bill - is taking a London cab to Frisco for a film! You aren't waiting for a cab, are you??
ANNIE - I'm down a bit. I had a great two weeks, then a really bad two weeks, and now I'm having a juuuuust right two weeks. Goldilocks & me, we've got it down to a science. I'm progressing, but with my diet doc retiring, I don't have his 'official' scale to weigh in. Back to the old stand-by bathroom scale. That's fine anyway. * HEY - Do you realize that you've officially burned MORE THAN HALF A MILLION CALORIES more than you've taken in????? Just since, when? Last spring some time?? My goodness! Over 500,000 of the little buggers! Dontcha wish you had a dollar, or even a dime, for every one of them??? Overall, I'm within 6-8 pounds of my lowest weight last fall. I'm going to pass it this time tho. I'm "in the zone." I'm going to go kiss ponies before Bill gets home. He's coming thru the house on his way to Frisco with BattleAx's Taxi. :D |
Hi!
Sharon, Congrats on all the walking!! And even better that the numbers are dropping on the scale. So happy for you! Valerie, O I'm so glad you heard from the trainer. I bet your so excited you get to see your Gabe. Give him a big carrot for me!! Good for you on staying OP and getting that walking in too. Phyra, I haven't tried any of those pills. I haven't really heard how they work either. They must though because they have been around forever. That is great that you have a gym so close and your company pays for it. Peggy, I know just how you feel. It is so hard to get up and do anything when the meds are right. I've gotten mine under control pretty well to where I don't feel that way anymore. YAY!!! Hopefully they will get it right now and you don't have to think it was all in your head  Annie, o you lucky dog!!! Joining a gym!!! You're doing so well. Does that mean you're going to two gyms now? You wear me out. Meta, I just hate those plateaus. I hope you figure something out to where you start losing again Battleax, it seems that I gain weight or crave more right after TOM leaves. It's awful. So even if you don't see a big loss or stay the same just know that's the problem. Story, it sounds like you are really adjusting well. Psychologically, is it hard? I mean I would still have the frame of mind to want to eat, because even if I'm not hungry, my mind would tell me I'm still craving things. I think you are doing really well though. Congrats on losing the 7 lbs and who cares whether it be water weight, its still a loss no matter how you look at it. Vicki, you're picture are truly an inspiration. You look totally different and I mean that in a good way. Actually you're pretty lucky to have those pics of you to look back and see how far you've come. Look at it in a positive way! You've accomplished something that some people don't get to do, or can't do, and it really is a life experience. I'm so very proud of you. Lindsay, hope you have a good time with your new man!! TFFU, Welcome back!! I have some wonderful news!!!! I lost 6 lbs!!! And I have some great NSV's too. I have a blouse that didn't fit me for such a long time and I tried it on today and it's almost too big!!! Also I think I made a good food choice at Denny's. I ordered the super bird sandwich and it usually comes with fries or hash browns. I changed the fries for a side salad with lo fat ranch dressing. I gotta tell you...that is huge for me since I am a potato-of-any-kind-aholic!!! I think what got me started losing again is that I am on diabetic meds and I had quit taking them for about a month...duh! I haven't lost for the last month, well, I think 1 lb. So I started taking them again and woolah!! I started losing again. The doctor had told me that Metaformin will help me lose weight plus control my blood so that must of done it. I only have 6 more pounds to get out of the 300's!!!! :woohoo: Also when I test my blood, it hasn't been over 110. It used to be really high. Have a great weekend! Debbie |
Debbie - THat's ALL great - 6 lbs! Loose blouse! And subbing the salad for the 'tata! That's so cool! * Yup! I'm excited to see Gabe. I'll be even more excited when I have enough weight off and condition back, so that I feel safe as a rider again! All these goals along the way - I mean seeing other people's as well as my own - are so motivating to keep this going on track. It's too easy sometimes to want it all, all at once, and there are so many great victories along the way that need to be savored.
:cheer: everyone! |
Hi All~
dolfingirl ~ I had gastric banding done. For me, GBS was a little too radical and I also have a 9 year old that I have to chase after from time to time, so the recovery time for that was better for my situation, also, I wanted to lose the weight a little more gradually to get used to the changes that my body was going to be going through. dogpal ~ Thanks so much and from what I have been seeing you are doing great as well. :) Debbie ~ It hasn't been really all that hard for me to adjust to new eating habits. I was never a really big eater (that was part of the problem with me gaining). I used to eat once, maybe twice a day (before surgery, not now), but since I had my surgery, I can't not go without eating. For years my doctor told me I needed to eat if I wanted to lose. I still have moments of craving foods, the last ones were Cake Batter ice cream from Coldstone. I had that craving for like 2 months. I finally broke down and got a small cup and I couldn't even finish that. That was like 3 weeks ago now. I also love Crispy Fish Tacos from Del Taco, but my system can't tolerate the oil anymore, so I found another place that makes fish tacos, but the fish is grilled. Still can't eat the tortillas, but cabbage and fish and pico is enough to satisfy the craving. :D And I'll still take a water loss as a loss anyday. ;) Lindsey ~ Have fun this weekend with the new man. :) I hope everyone has a good weekend. Me? I am taking care of my mom's cat, or as I like to call him, her four legged furry husband, while she is on a mini vacation. Story |
Valerie: You're doing great!
No, I'm not waiting for a taxicab, but I"ll be on the lookout for it! We're still in fundraising mode so are not shooting the film yet, just a promo video. Debbie: Big congrats on your enormous loss and blouse NSV. I'm so happy for you. Good going on passing up the potatoes. 2fat: Have fun cat sitting. I love animals. |
Val: Yeah to being down some. :broc:Also a big ole :carrot:to being within 6-8 pounds of your lowest. You will be wizzing so quick past that you will barely have time to celebrate before you are onto smaller and better things. ;)
Debbie: Yup. 2 gyms right now. The one is all nautalus equiptment. I go there 2 times a week and the other one has a pool, basket ball, raquetball, every kind of cardio machine you can imagine and some I've never seen, and tons of nautalus type machines plus weights etc. So happy for you :cheer:That you are down 6 more pounds! Keep up the great work.Great super NSV's too! You are doing so well. Storey: okay, does that mean you are watching your four legged furry "Step Dad". :D Well, I walked and walked around the mall and around Costco tonight. I went to 2 job interviews. So, next month I should hopefully have 4 2nd interviews to go to. lol. They all sound pretty good for me who has been out of the working world for a loooooong time. I did buy 2 skirts in a size 24! I want to be ready. I also bought 1 blouse in a 24. all work/church stuff. One of the 24 skirts I can squeeze into but it sure doesn't look so hot. lol. Gotta go and watch "The Office" I tivoed it last night and didn't get a chance to watch it. Blessings all, Annie |
Wanted to let everyone know that I got home safe and sound. I ate too much, but walked all over Toronto. I'm so tired right now I can't sleep, although I do feel like throwing up. I'll post more later.

G'morning all!
I made my Sept exercise goal! yay!! I got a little slack this week cuz of not feeling totally right since my gastro virus. I'm back in the saddle (Bike saddle, that is!). I was happy that my weight ticker moved down as well. All good news. The bad news is that yesterday's eating consumed all my WW flex points. Catherine, glad you are home safe and did miles of walking in Toronto! I understand being so overtired that you can't sleep. I hope you don't have a headache from being overtired and being nauseous from that stress. I know you'll take care of yourself!!! Annie, I used to get so TIRED walking around Costco. I need to make a run (not literally.. hehe) but have to wait until next payday. Good luck on the interviews!! Story, give the old grumpy kitty some loving. I have a geriatric old man kitty. He grunts when I kiss him on the head. Debbie! You go girl! Great NSVs with the clothes AND loss. I have heard that metaformin will stabilize even little spikes in insulin resistance and help with weight loss. No worries, you'll be off ALL of that soon cuz you are doing so great!! Valerie, I do the same roller coaster thing with my weight. I about got it down to a science and it all revolves around TOM! Dang that old TOM. One week = tiny loss or stay the same, 2nd week = go up 2-5 lbs, 3rd week = stay same, 4th week = big loss if I haven't gotten discouraged! I bet you are already a stable and confident rider. Gabe is lucky he has you as a Ma. Tori, geeeesh about your TSH levels. I hope they get it going in the correct direction!! My doc insists on waiting 6 weeks before re-testing levels. I think we finally have it set ok. My tiredness stems from not consistently wearing my cpap machine. Battle, too cool about the promo video!! I hope you have a stress free weekend. To be honest, I don't think I could deal with the food challenges that you face on a weekly basis. I barely get by with basic holidays! Vicky, again, your pictures and journey are an inspiration!!! Keep up the great work!!! Heather, I came >< this close to joining a gym, but didn't do it yet. I still might go by this one place that I know has a pool. I love swimming. I found out that my work will pay half of gym fees per month (up to $25). Welcome Sita!! Sharon, seems your internet has allowed you to still be with us, yay!! Meta, *zap* that for the plateau! Dang those things. I hear ya on the metabolism of our bodies. It's such a fickle thing. Lindsey, Yay for changing your ticker too! TFFU, welcome back from TX. I escaped from there in 1995 hehe. I'm more of an east coast girl. I like green grass and trees. Um, although this drought isn't playing nice with my grass. Hugs and Luv to all you peeps (especially you lurkers)!! Ratkity |
Debbie WOWEE, loose clothes AND 6lbs!:carrot::carrot::carrot::carrot::carrot::carr ot: That's amazing! Good for you, seeing others losing well is ALMOST as good as losing it yourself, lol!xxxxxx
Ratkitty, so you used up your points, YOU DIDN'T GO OVER THEM! ;)That's what you have to focus on! Sometimes a little splurge is good for the soul, can you 'earn' some extra points by exercising if you want some more food/treats?xxxxxx Well Annie, you are a real GYM BUNNY,:carrot: lol, seeing your posts it's hard to believe that you're the same person as a year or even a few months ago. I'm so pleased all is great with you.xxxxxx Catherine, get your head down, even if you can't sleep, a rest will be good for you, :hug:how about warm milk & a bath?xxxxxxx I'm out of time so bye for now. I'm OP, feeling FAB ;Annie & others must know about ketosis highs from liquid diets; feeling positive, just wish it could always be like this! :?:If it was we'd all weigh 130-170lbs!!lol xxxxsharon:hug: ps Ammi, I'll look for you later, did you get a litle package in the post yet?;) xxxxxx |
Hi Everyone!!
I am still here... I have been running around like a chicken this week...still in taxi mode (dammit!), yes the darn car is still in the shop. They are having a problem getting 1 more part. Of course. My BIL's mom passed away Weds...we have allways been close w/her on holidays since before we were married...she just gave up and got really sick since her husband(who had a stroke and taking care of him was her whole life) died 5 years ago. The really horrible thing is that my BIL who is a Deacon, is officiating at his cousin's wedding upstate today, and my great-nephew's(his grandson) Christening is Sunday, so they are not doing anything until MONDAY!!! I personally find it gross...he could have only had a 1 day viewing and burried her yesterday. This is his mother, for heaven's sake!!! (he is an only chlid, so there was no one else other than my SIL to have any say, and there was no love lost between her and his mom) Sorry no personals...but big  to everyone. Maybe by Thursday I can actually slow down!!! NOT!! Have a Great Weekend!!!:cheer2: |
:?:good morning everyone... just a quick note to let you all know i am still around.. mostly lurking. and going on the road with hubby.i will be gone next week to MAS. i can hardly wait ...i have never seen that part of the country. i have been trying to pretty well on my diet too .. kinda nervous though about weighing at the drs on monday though!
