Count me in as one who's also eating her limit today (and it's not all grapes!). I don't know whether I can blame TOM or it's something else... at least I got my exercise in...

chimichanga 08-09-2007 06:31 PM

Ammi! - Even thought it might be a flattering photo- its still a photo- unaltered and un photoshopped. Its you! Its not cheating!!! :) I hear ya, my arse seems to still be in the middle ages.. its annoying, but it will all even out soon Ammi! Yeah most of my problems have been moving into the house... my sister (my sheister) always suprises me with how inconsiderate she can truly be... anyways I think things are ok now... but yeah I am totally itching to move out!! Gotta save up! Thanks for sympathizin though.. you really remembered me, i'm flattered.

Nancy- thanks for ur post, nah me and the boy are still together... but with the added pressures of looking after my sister and a house that isn't mine is adding uneeded pressure on our relationship. for sure. I haven't looked at your photos yet, but i'm sure their amazing! Just your profile pic you can see an enormous difference- - you should be really proud of yourself!! I know i would be!

Luan- how did you swing that job??? congrats!

Battleaxe - thanks for the much needed encouragement!

Dogpal- wazzup? how you doing these days!

Hippievanlady- eesh i hope your ok! Take it easy.. What clippings are you putting in the scrapbook? :)

Not sure when I can post next.. but take care everyone.

xx tina

Cris-I had a basset hound who trapped one of those black and white kitties under our house. We had to de-scent the entire place, and he took it in the face several times. We tried tomato juice, gallons of it in the tub, and a special de-scenter that we got from a hunting store. Each kind of worked on a separate spectrum of the odor. We had to rewash all the sheets, towels, and clothes in the house, steam clean the carpets, and white vinegar the walls to get the smell out of the house. We also coated him in baking soda, and then vacuumed it off him kind of like that powder you can get smells out of carpeting with. Make sure he's dry though, or it becomes like wallpaper paste. Since he got it in the face, be prepared for him to smell like it every time he gets a drink for a long time to come. We only used tomato juice on his face, and also vinegar and baking soda, but not the special chemical.

Debbie: My WLS is scheduled for 8/29! I'm glad that your DIL is feeling better now. Yeah to you on getting to the teens today!

Nancy: Congrats on another -1. Awesome. I'm so happy for you on your NSV!

Luann: Glad you are loving your job.

Catherine: It got pretty chilly here yesterday too. I think Fall may be early this year.

Brandnewme: Congrats on your weight loss. Glad to see you hun.

Peggy: You are such a cutie. I can sure see a difference in your pictures! You look great.

Ratkitten: I hope you regain your energy very soon.

Battle: Great NSV! I haven't done WATP in a while. I think about it then end up just going for a walk. I may try it next week or tomorrow.

PNWred: Congrats on another -4.3! Great job..

Cris: Yikes to black and white kitties! I hope you feel better very soon.

Chimi: Hugs.

Well, I didn't exercise at all today. I did clean my house really well. I am going to straighten closets and drawers in my bedroom this weekend. Another one of my nieces is coming to visit for a week. That will be nice to see her. The following week 20th - 24th, I will be going to see my Dad and Step Mom for a visit. I love to spend time with my Dad.

Hope everyone is great.

blessings,
Annie

Xena2005 08-09-2007 09:37 PM

Cris - Oh your poor doggie! That must be miserable for him to have that right in his face. I hope you are able to get the smell off him soon!

Peggy - You look great. You look smaller all over. Keep it up!

Annie - I didn't realize you had a date for your surgery. Congratulations. You will be in all our thoughts and prayers that day.

As for me, I went to orientation for my MBA program tonight. I didn't really learn anything I didn't already know but it did get me a bit excited about what sorts of opportunities may be ahead for me. One of the current students who spoke talked about one of the professors who take students on a trip abroad every spring break to meet with business people from other countries. This year they are going to Argentina. I would love the chance to do something like that. I would love to travel more than I do if I had someone to do it with so I'll take whatever opportunity I can get to go see new places.

princesspuffypants 08-09-2007 09:48 PM

Debbie - i put 10.00 in a savings account for every pound i lose. every pound is a big deal, so i reward myself with a big amount of money. it would be 20, but i dont make enough money.. lol

Chimichana - i work in entertainment, so, its really like applying to any other job in any other industry. :) but i LOVE it

Debbie54 08-09-2007 10:56 PM

Hi!

Luan: That is such a great NSV!! I'm thinking of going for that one!! I think I will try and put maybe a dollar for each pound...there's no way I could do the $10 for each. Thanks for the great idea!!

Annie: I am soooooo excited for you!!! You have such spunk and a "can do" attitude. You've come so far and now you've finally got a date!! You truly will be in my thoughts and prayers that day!

Heather: Well, I got on the treadmill yesterday and today. I did 20 minutes yesterday and 27 minutes today, going a full mile. I didn't feel I could exercise before but my body is telling me now it's ready. It's really not that bad, but I do hope I can keep it up. I'm planning to make a commitment to myself, but haven't figured out how many minutes a month I should do. I want to help out on the exercise thread. I really need to incorporate weights. I'm feeling really flabby in my batwings and just hate how they hang. I know that is one of the hardest parts to firm up.

Cris: It sounds like you're just miserable. I hope you get well soon.

To all of you acheiving your NSV's, weight losses and goals, keep up the good work, and to all of you struggling, don't worry, it will get better. We all have our bad days.

Debbie

Heather 08-09-2007 11:20 PM

Debbie -- YAY for getting on the :tread: That's awesome!! You know, you don't have to set a goal, you can just march...er, mouse?... over there and post those minutes!! Really, we'd love it!!!

In fact, maybe do that through the end of the month and then see if you want to set a goal for September!!

:woohoo:

princesspuffypants 08-09-2007 11:33 PM

Debbie - do at least 5. your pounds are worth more than a dollar!!

Yup, that's how busy work has been. I haven't been getting much packing/moving in because of it, so now I'm behind on that. It's going to be a busy weekend...

NoLifeWithoutHorses 08-10-2007 06:52 AM

Hi Folks! I love coming by and seeing all this positive energy and progress. Even with setbacks and challenges, everyone's here to move forward.

Annie, what a fantastic NSV! Big Bravo!!

There's open call for Biggest Loser this weekend in many cities, including Cleveland, just an hour away. I'm considering it. They even accept video applications, deadline Sept 4. Pondering...

For those of you who are following my plans with Gabe, he was supposed to go off to the trainer who will start him for me this week, but the trainer called to say he'd be injured and would be running a month late. So, Gabe won't be going off until September now. No problem, since I'm still too heavy to feel comfortable riding him, and I can still do a lot of work training him from the ground.

HUGS to all! Off to work... I HAVE started walking with a friend at work, zooming down the halls, up one stair case, down the other...

Heather 08-10-2007 09:27 AM

Valerie -- Good to see you!! We miss you in the exercise thread! ;)

BattleAx 08-10-2007 12:42 PM

Hi everyone,

This week I've had a little bump up in fitness level, which is nice. Nice to feel progress and an increased energy level.

Yesterday was not the best eating day. It wasn't a total binge fest, but I overate.

I've been reading all about this Kashi Go Lean Crunch and how many love it. It was on sale, so I picked up a box. Went a little overboard eating it out of the box last night. I woke up this morning craving big stacks of pancakes and french toast with butter and maple syrup. The sweet breakfasty taste of the cereal brought out a craving monster. In reading the package, I see they list "dehydrated cane juice" fairly high up on the list of ingredients. That is code phrase for SUGAR.

I don't know about you, but for me, breakfast can set the tone for the entire day. If it's high in sugar or fat, it sets the cravings in motion for the rest of the day. I feel less full and want to eat, eat, eat.

It's interesting to see how quickly I can slip into unconsiousness when it comes to eating. Last night, I went to an event. I ate beforehand, and vowed to skip the goodies at the event. I knew it would be hard at this type of event to regulate myself, and I wanted to be networking, not avoiding and stuffing myself at the goodie table. During the event, several waiters passing hors d'ouevres came by, and I said no. But, then, another one came by and I grabbed and ate the thing before I even realized what had happened. No biggie, it was only one treat, but the point is that in a nanosecond I had slipped into unconsciousness about food.

Today is another day and I am off to a good start, even though the pancakes and french toast cravings have morphed into cravings for huge bowls of pasta with pesto cream.

Have a great day everyone!

bodyTOObootylicious 08-10-2007 12:43 PM

Hello All!

I’ve been lurking around without posting for about a week or so… just not too much going on here, working out like a dog and trying to cut back calories. It was frustrating for a while because I hadn’t really seen any major losses on the scale, although my clothes are fitting better and you can really see the difference in how toned my body looks. Finally yesterday I had a mini-meltdown (went wayyyy overboard on the calories, though luckily there was nothing too fattening in the house and I was too lazy to go out and buy anything binge-worthy), and I didn’t exercise… and this morning I saw a big loss on the scale. This shows me that the fact that I am not losing normally is because of the exercise, and that is not something I should change… I just have to be more patient I guess.

Well exciting things going on this weekend… tomorrow I’m going to the NJ State Fair with my friend Alex, I’ve been looking forward to it for a while now so I’m getting excited!! It’s like this big farm show basically, with rides and piglet races and all kinds of fun stuff. I wanted to go with my boyfriend, but he won’t be home from Alaska until Monday night, bummer. But on Sunday my mom and I are both spending the whole day at the spa for massages/swimming/Jacuzzi/steam room treatments, so that’s going to be fun too, and I’ll get to see my bf on Tuesday night… can’t wait to see what he has to says about how much 3 weeks of workouts and dieting has changed my bod! :D

It’s actually funny that my current bf has this idea that I always cheat on my diet and that I’m not capable of actually sticking to it, because my ex (who I dated for 2 years during a time that I was losing a lot of weight and really staying strictly OP), used to always tell me he admired my dedication to my diet, because I never ever cheated at the time. I’ll bet my current bf will change his tune when he sees me Tuesday night!

All the before and after pics that have been posted are such great inspirations. I don’t have a really good “before” pic because I never allowed pictures to be taken of me at my highest weight… too embarrassing. I have one from 200-some-odd pounds though, so maybe I’ll post that as my before and get some current ones up for you ladies to see.

Love to everyone, have a great and OP day!

Debbie54 08-10-2007 01:07 PM

Good Mornin' :D

As I've mentioned I've been on my treadmill the last couple of days. I noticed that I'm not losing like I have been. Do the muscles retain more water or something to where I'm not seeing a loss?

Heather: Ok, I will post my minutes over on the exercise thread. I will also figure out a good number of minutes to dedicate myself to for September. I noticed that my back is hurting when I get up and I don't know if it's from exercising but I'm not going to quit...if anything, maybe it will loosen up my back and feel better.

Luan, Ok, I'll make it $5 but I will have to work up to that amount for the poundage I've already lost. That will be $150 bucks!!!

NoLIfe, O gosh, if I had the opportunity to get on BL, I'd be there in a heartbeat. They look like they really make them suffer on there but what a reward they get in the end. Heck yeah girl!!!! Go for it!!!!
Hope Gabe will be ready in September.
Congrats on getting that exericse in at work and wonderful that you have a friend to join in with you.

Battleax, I know what you mean about what you eat for breakfast can set the trend for the whole day. One little extra thing and I still have that mentality that I messed up for the day. It seems to be affecting be more now than when I first started. Just one more thing to overcome in this journey.
Good for you on the bump up in exercise. !!! :carrot:

BodyToo, Have fun at the fair. Those are sooooooo fun!! I was totally embarrassed at the last one I went to. I got on the big boat that swings back and forth, and had to get off after the two attendants tried to jam the lap bar down on me in front of a line of people and couldn't get it secured. I was totally mortified, but now with my weight loss, I'm pretty sure I would fit.
Don't let your bf affect how your doing WL wise. You do it for you and don't get discouraged. If he has doubts, he will see a big change in you the longer you stay on it. You can do it!!!

Well ladies, I'm off to play a game and then I hear the treadmill calling me again.
Have a great day!
Debbie

NotTheCheat 08-10-2007 01:20 PM

Just a quickie before I run down to the caf to get lunch . . .

Battle - There is a HUGE difference between the regular Kashi GoLean and the Crunch version. The Crunch version does the same thing to me. It is so sweet and crunchy I just want to snuggle up with the box. The plain version is tasty, but not overly so and does not create in any way the same effect for me. I hope your noodle craving passes.

princesspuffypants 08-10-2007 01:31 PM

Debbie - you owe it to yourself, you are working hard!! you wouldnt tolerate your work paying you low wages would you?

Valerie! go to the open call, they are only expecting like 300 people per city! its a great way to let the casting directors see who you really are!! video doesnt always come across well. - trust me im working in casting!

dogpal 08-10-2007 02:55 PM

Xean: I hope you get to go to Argentina. How exciting!

Debbie: Great job on walking on the treadmill. You could very well be retaining water. Hang in there.

Jilly: Hope your move goes smoothly

Val: Go for it! I think you should go to the casting call. I would love to see your beautiful smiling face on TBL! Great job walking too. Just more time for you to be with Gabe and continue to loose more weight before you ride him!

Battle: Good job upping your fitness.

Bodytoo: Have fun at the state fair.

As for me. I went to my ultrasound this morning. It was kind of tickley on my tummy but I don't have any gallstones and my liver and everything looks great. I then went to the metabolic testing thing. It took 20 minutes which is 10 minutes longer than normal. Who knows why. lol. You just sit in a recliner with your feet up and breath into a tube thing the whole time. My matabolism came out normal. After that I had to do their workout per my surgeon's orders. He wanted me to work out 1 or 2 times before surgery. Man what a hard workout. It was Natalus machines and they make you do them at a snail's pace. My muscles feel like jelly. lol. She set my legs at 250 pounds to lift and my arms at 80. The tummy situp one was a killer. I managed to make it through and am kind of looking forward to going back again after surgery.

I hope you are all having a wonderful op day. I will be at a birthday party tomorrow at 2 p.m. then at 8 p.m. I will be driving into Spokane WA to pick up another one of my nieces for a week long visit. I can't wait to see her. I managed to loose the 2 pounds I gained plus 1 more so I am down 1 more pound. NO more cheating for me period.

Blessings all,
Annie

Heather 08-10-2007 02:55 PM

BattleAx -- I love the Go Lean Crunch, but I DO have to be careful with it. There have been times when I've overeaten it. I suppose I should consider banning it but won't unless I think it's a big problem.

Debbie -- So many things affect weight loss, so it's hard to say why you aren't seeing a loss -- it could be water retention, for any number of reasons, or something else. Patience my dear! Give it some time!

As for the minutes, yay for reporting it!! :woohoo:

Ratkitten 08-10-2007 05:45 PM

Hi all!

Valeri, go for the open call!! Too exciting.

Battle, I do the same unconscious eating as well.

Yay on the loss Booty!!

Deb, for my crazy body, it takes 7 days of consistent working out to get rid of water retention that the initial workout causes.

Annie, keep up the great work!!

*wavies to Wyllenn, Princesspuff, Nancy, and anyone else I might have missed!*

Ready for my news??? I got MAJOR exercise today.. not for just swapping out a dead AC unit for a live one (ugh.. not good on the back) but for trying out NEW bicycles. I got bit by the new bicycle bug. It's similar to the new car bug. I haven't had a new bicycle in 15 years, so I thought it was time for one.

I didn't mean to buy one TODAY.. was just gonna go out and check out the competition. OMG.. I rode 5 different bikes in this humidity and heat for 2 hours! But I found one I liked!! I get a pro-fit next Friday after I break it in a bit. So exciting. If I wasn't so dead, I'd go out right now.. hehe. No one has prolly heard of this bike, but it's called a Jamis Xenith and it's black and silver. Tis made of carbon fiber. It's soooooo purdy! Forget mowing the lawn tomorrow.. I'm gonna RIDE! *wh000sh*

Hugs and Luv,
Ratkity

PS.. I've been logging my exercise in my book, but been lax putting it on the thread... no worries!! It'll get there :)

[edit PPS.. don't ask the cost of new bike.. my credit card was smokin' afterwards!!!]

Heather 08-10-2007 05:52 PM

Ratkitty -- That's awesome about the new bike! I hope you put in lots and lots of miles on it!!!

jillybean720 08-10-2007 06:04 PM

I went to an open casting call last year for The Biggest Loser. It was in Norfolk, VA, and there were TONS of people there. We got there hours before anything actually started, and there were already over 200 people in line. I didn't feel it gave me a chance to show myself at all. We were called in in groups of like 10-12 people, and we sat at a table with 1 show employee (they had 2 tables like this running at a time, so 20 people were being group-interviewed at any given time for about 10 minutes per table, and the call lasted aaaall day). We went around the table introducing ourselves for about 10 seconds each, and that was it--they said thanks for coming...it was a pretty huge let-down. At least in a video, you can think about exactly what you're going to say and do to express yourself. Also, there's no rule that says you can't do BOT--go to the casting call AND submit a video!

Xena2005 08-10-2007 08:35 PM

BattleAx - I heard you on the cereal thing. I pretty much never eat cold cereal for breakfast anymore. It's just not satifying enough. I would say 99.9% of the time I include protein in my breakfast, usually in the form of lowfat cottage cheese or scrambled eggs/egg white (I usually do 1 egg with 3 whites). And I have a serving of oatmeal with that. It's a big breakfast for some but I find I am very satisfied with it and it's pretty much my staple breakfast. Now, if I could just get so good at lunch, dinner, and snacks, I'd be making faster progress.

Annie - Oh, I will not be going to Argentina this spring break. That is just the next one they are doing. I would say the earliest I'd be able to go is the spring break following in 2009. Still....it's a possibility and something to look forward to. :) I am glad your ultrasound and your metabolism tests were normal. You have been pretty much a model patient so far so I really hope you are rewarded with fabulous results from your surgery.

I went shopping at Target this evening and found the neatest thing for my lunches at work. They were by all the regular food storage containers. It's a brand called "Fit and Fresh" and I bought a "salad shaker" that has a dressing dispenser in the lid where you can measure out your dressing but keep it separate from your salad until you are ready to eat it. The you just open it and it drains onto your salad, shake to toss, and you have your salad. It's a pretty big container so if you like to fill up on salad, you can make a decent-sized one in this. The lid also has a removable ice pack in the lid in case you don't have access to a fridge at work. I also bought the "lunch on the go" container which also has the ice pack and then separate areas for your entree and side items. It's pretty neat. They had several other products as well but I thought I'd try these and see how I like them. Here is a website that shows their products if anyone is interested.

http://www.fit-fresh.com

Heather 08-10-2007 09:26 PM

Xena -- I have that salad container!! It works pretty well, but you have to be careful when you turn the knob to add the dressing -- sometimes things get in the way. I used it a lot last summer. This summer I have been eating lunch at home a lot.

Realist 08-10-2007 09:36 PM

Happy Friday

Good evening all,

Well, this week wasn't a bust. I did well every day, except today. Friday evening is DH and my date night, and we generally go out to dinner. And we did. And then ice cream. So, I don't think I blew the week, so I am pretty satistified.

I am a tiny bit frustrated, because I am on antibiotics and prednisone again for a sinus infection (last time was thirty days ago). The prednisone is giving me leg cramps....but hopefully it doesn't make me hungry. On the good hand, although our bathroom remodel isn't complete, the jacuzzi tub is in (hubby is in it right now). My turn is next!!

That's it for now anyway. Need to make the menu for next week and the grocery list. The menu is a life saver for me, because I know what we are having at all times. And I am getting better at sticking to it.

For all of you overheating....hopefully weather will break for you soon.

For you struggling, I wish you find the "secret" to get focused (then share it with me).

For you doing great, you rock!! Keep it going!

OK, now that's it for now.

Real...

NotTheCheat 08-11-2007 10:37 AM

I have about 5 minutes, no 3, and then I need to get going. I am heading to the gym and then I have a family bbq this afternoon.

I had to come and confess that I had a bit of a brownie batter incident last night. I have a package (or should I say had) of No Pudge brownie mix. Well, I decided late last night that I really wanted some. So I mixed myself a bowl and ate it. Rinse and repeat.

The thing is that I really enjoyed it. I have a certain mental wiring that makes me feel rebellious and naughty when I eat certain things. It makes me feel like I am 5 years old and pulling one over on my mom.

I ate about half the box, which is about 700 calories. It could have been worse, and honestly I don’t terribly regret it. I really did enjoy it. I wish that I didn’t, but I guess if I am going to spend that many calories on something I should. That said, the remainder of the box went into the garbage and I will have to be a bit more careful than I had originally intended to be at the party today. I am also heading to the gym before hand and getting in an hour of cardio.

Have a great Saturday everyone!

AmmiUK 08-11-2007 10:43 AM

Hi All,

Gee miss a few days and you get miles behind on posts :yikes: Sorry I haven't got chance to play catch up. I just wanted to post and say hi. This week has been an odd one. My emotions have been very up and down. The down times have been dreadful, but the up times have been great. Yesterday Daren and I had a lovely day out at the beach. I did eat totally off program. Hard to make health choices with food when all that is in offer is icecream, donuts, and things like sausage and chips etc. Oh well I did a lot of walking, so that should help limit the damage I may have done :D I am back on track today, in fact just finished my exercise for today and am about to go post it and a couple of days I missed posting on the exercise thread.

Hope everybody is having a lovely weekend, it's :sunny: here still and I am loving it.

Hugs,

Ammi :chicken:

Xena2005 08-11-2007 05:21 PM

Hi everyone. Good golly it is hotter 'n a biscuit down here today (to use one of my granny's signature phrases)!!! The fence people came back today to respray my fence so as it dries we'll see if it has improved the situation any.

After that I had a hair appointment and got my hair cut into sort of a short bob. My avatar pic is from over a year ago when my hair was short short. Then I let it grow about shoulder length and I finally just decided I hate having longer hair. It's hot and it just doesn't look that good on me. Anyway, so it's back to shorter hair for now. Then I went to Sprouts to pick up fruits, veggies, and yogurt. It's usually a madhouse on Saturdays and today was no exception!!! Now I am home and ready to relax a bit.

Oh, I bought my books for school yesterday. I was able to buy them all used but they still cost $400!!!!!! Thank goodness my company is paying 80% of my expenses.

I started trying to plan my travel to Boston in October for the wedding. Oh my gosh. It is so expensive. Right now the cheapest flight I can find is $500 plus the hotel where the wedding is at is $265/night which would end up close to $300 when they add taxes. And that is with the group rate for the wedding! I checked other hotels nearby and even the Days Inn is charging $400/night. Apparently there is some big event in Boston the same weekend as the wedding (a Regatta) and the hotels have jacked up their prices accordingly. I had originally planned to go up on a Thursday and come back on a Sunday but that 3 day weekend could end up costing me close to $2000 when you include airport parking, dining out, a new outfit to wear, and a gift for the couple. Jeez. That is really just more than I expected and now am in a bit of a quandary. I really would like to go and see everyone and share in the day, particularly since I was asked to play a role in the ceremony by signing the ketubah as a witness. I feel horrible I am even considering backing out but $2000 is ALOT of money. I think it if were another weekend when the Regatta wasn't happening I'd probably be able to find cheaper lodging. I am sick to my stomach about this. I don't know what to do.

Ammi - I am sorry you are having ups and down. I wish I had some really profound words of advice for you but I have been fortunate so far and have really not ever lost anyone close to me. Take care, my dear.

Nancy - Have fun at the BBQ. I admire your attitude regarding the brownie batter incident. I wish I could be so sensible whenever I have an "incident".

Debbie54 08-11-2007 06:11 PM

Hiya!

Xena, just a thought about your trip...have you tried priceline.com? I think you can enter a price that you would like to pay and then motel/hotels will let you know if they have something. I think you have to pay right then and there but it might be an option you could try. You let them know what city and stuff you want to stay at. I know how you feel about spending alot of money for something like that when you don't have it to spend. Good luck in finding something.

Ammi, its so hard to go somewhere and find there is nothing really that is within your eating plan. I'm glad your back on track though and I'm sure the walking was really helpful.

Nancy, Have fun at the barbeque and don't sweat the brownies. You've done so well and you know what, you knew when to quit with the brownies.

Real, I hope you get to feeling better soon.

Jilly, I hear ya on the interview process of some of these shows. We went to the Price Is Right and you wait forever just to go thru a line of 5 people at a time and they ask your name, what you do and that's about it and they judge you from that. Needless to say, we didn't get on it but it still was soooooooo much fun.

Ratkity, Congrats on getting the bike. It's such a free feeling whenever on a bike...I just love it. We've been wanting to get bikes for the last two years and every year at Christmas we say we are but we don't. Hopefully maybe this year. I hope you put some miles on that puppy!!!!

Luan, Annie, and Heather, yes I plan on working out every day but my weekends. I figure 5 days a week is good for right now. I want to get to that place where I look forward to it. Believe it or not I used to go to an all women's gym, did 1 hour on the treadmill, did an hour on weights and then I would go and walk the track for another 30 minutes and I LOVED going everyday. That's what I want to get back to....hopefully.

Well, ladies, I hope all is going well for each of you and have a great weekend!
Debbie

I haven't posted in ages. Lately I just do these drive by posts and then disappear. I hope not to disappear again. I just start feeling overwhelmed and under confident. Some of you might remember me, others may not. That is okay. But I'm stopping in to say hello and I hope that you will all see more of me again.

Hiya all,

Nancy, I'm glad you told us of your brownie incident. It's through your struggles as these that I learn that I can have "an incident" and recover. On top of that, you hopped up and went to the gym!! You go girl. If you can do it, so can I.

Ammi, those ups and downs will level out a bit, but it'll take time. I'm glad you have Daren as support. Yay for a good time at the beach! Enjoy that sun.

Xena, *faint* at the cost of your books. I sure don't miss those days. I'm glad your company is paying some of it. It still hurts!! I understand your quandry about the money. That's a LOT when things are tight. I've never used priceline, but perhaps you can try it? Anything is better than those prices.

Debbie, I hope you find the niche you need to fire up your exercise program. A bicycle might be the ticket! hehe. Just don't use the stock seat. I am going to professionally fitted next Friday and was going to wait to get a woman's seat then.. ACK.. ow ow ow.. I could only manage 5 miles this morning on the new bike's seat. I couldn't get that seat off my old bike fast enuff to swap with the torture device on the new bike.. When I sat on my tried and true old seat, I just went "ahhhh, much bettah".

Speaking of my new purchase, of course I had to accessorize. I ordered some new bike shoes. Since my right foot swells a bit, I wear sandals. There's only one company that makes sandals for clipless pedals. I'm excited at getting new shoes. My old shimano sandals are 15 yrs old (as old as my last bike). Old bike and shoes are in pristine condition, just a little frayed at the edges (like their owner). I transferred over my odometer (gotta know how far I've gone!) as well. I'm ready to do 10 miles tomorrow.

I mowed and edged the lawns, rode 5 miles, destroyed the old tile soap dish and toothbrush holder and put in new ones (long story in bathroom.. but it's done! yay). Tomorrow, I grout those. Then I napped... after getting up, I forced myself to the grocery AFTER I ate. I got salads and stuff for a crockpot recipe I'm going to try that my mom sent me. WW recipe.. I'll let you guys know how it came out tomorrow evening. OH!! and I ate some zuchinni last night. Was all in all, a very OP day.

Hope everyone's day went as well as mine today (except for the tailend ouchies),

Luv and hugs to all I didn't get a personal in to!!! I keep up with you all and you are all special,

Ratkity

I just have to say that I went to the fair today and didn't cave in to any of the fatty treats that were beckoning!! :) I am very pleased with myself. I was there with a skinny-minnie friend of mine who can eat and eat and eat and never gain an ounce, so I was very tempted to join her when she ordered an ice cream sundae. But I had packed my own diet lunch, and I stuck to my plan, so I'm a happy camper tonight!

Hey everybody! Have missed you all so...

You probably didn't notice, but I've been AWOL for a couple of weeks. LOL

I've been on my holidays and have been busy busy busy doing a big kitchen makeover and reorganization. It's something I never would have, never COULD have tackled a year and a 125 pounds ago so I've been really happy (though sometimes STRESSED!!). Also got up to the cottage for a few days in there so did have some traditional holiday time too.

I have so much to catch up on here...Nancy- you're in the 260's!!!! That's great.

Will try to be more regular again soon...thinking of all. :)

princesspuffypants 08-11-2007 11:05 PM

Debbie - also keep in mind you dont have to back-pay yourself, but start it as a new incentive. it might be a bigger motivator to start at 0 and watch it climb :)

Teahoney! welcome back!!

Jill - they arent expecting a lot of people because the show isnt on the air right now, but you are totally right, there is nothing wrong with sending in a tape too! if you do go to an open call, and you happen to get a piece of paper for anything, you have a little piece of me, because i ran off all the copies for everything :)

Ammi - im sorry things have been up and down but it sounds like you and Darren had a lovely day!!

so yesterday was not such a good day. i went to get lunch (at weinerschnitzel - a hotdog place) and when i was leaving i fell and hit my head and cracked my ankle and bruised my knee pretty bad. after taking a few seconds to get up, i went and sat in my car to get my bearings, and i guess i blacked out because i fell out of the car and hit my head on the ground again, but i dont remember it. i just woke up on the ground. so they called the ambulance and i sat in the emergency room for 4 hours, and after all my sucky friends wouldnt come pick me up, i had to to take a cab back to my car with a concussion and a fractured ankle. so that was fun.

thats been my life. hows yours?

Heather 08-12-2007 12:06 AM

Tracey -- Welcome back!!!! We definitely DO want to see more of you!

Luan!!! Holy Cow, are you okay??????? Why'd ya go and fall on your head and all, silly! Don't you know that hurts!! :) I don't mean to make light of your injuries, but hope you chuckled at least. You need to be really careful with a concussion! Let us know you're okay!!!!

princesspuffypants 08-12-2007 05:05 AM

heather - im ok. i take it as a sign from god that i should not be eating chili cheese fry burritos - yes. chili cheese fry burritos. they are every bit as delicious and horrible as they sound. ***** - if being fat wont do it, maybe a knock on the head will* lol

Ratkitten 08-12-2007 08:32 AM

Hi All!

YAY SJ-Boooooty! I hope you had a great time at the fair. I'm very proud of you that you stuck to your plan in the midst of all that junk food. You rock!

I missed you Meta! Wow, I understand the kitchen remodel (home.earthlink.net/~ratkity) is where mine is and it was a SMALL kitchen. Glad you got some traditional holiday time in at your cottage.

OMGosh Luan *gentle hugs* oh no about the concussion(s). Let your brain rest, ok? and keep that ankle elevated! *more hugs* I'm glad your new job is fun and rewarding! I hope you don't have to run around too much with that ankle on Monday.

I'm off to ride my new bicycle! I'm hoping my old seat doesn't pain my tush too much today. The torture device that was on the new bike is gone. I think I have a sledgehammer I'd like to introduce to it. Muhahahahaha

Was OP and ate a salad for lunch yesterday. All in all, yesterday was a great day (except the tail pain). HRRRRMmmmm, between Luan and I, we hurt from top to bottom! hehe.

Luv and Hugs to all,
Ratkity

Tracy - Yes, I remember you. I am glad to see you back and do hope we continue to see you posting.

Debbie - Yes, I tried priceline.com. It's not any lower than anywhere else. At least not for this particular weekend. Since the Regatta is that weekend hotels know they will be booked and we all know how supply and demand works. I am going to talk to Karen (my friend and the groom's mom) about it next week because it can't just be me having this issue. Maybe there are some other single gals going to the wedding that would want to share a room to help with costs. Although rooming with a perfect stranger isn't ideal either. Oh well, we'll just have to see how it works out. As for you, good for you starting to get back into the exercise habit. :)

Ratkitty - Wow, you have so much more energy than I do to accomplish all those things in one day. Yesterday I had a hair appt, did some grocery shopping and just some light work in the yard for maybe 15 minutes and I was just done in for the day. I look forward to being able to go and do like I used to before I put on all this weight.

Meta - I don't think I've ever really noticed your ticker before. Wow, you have done really well with the intuitive eating. :congrat:

Luan - What a day you had! I hope you are OK now. In some ways you can count yourself lucky you fell out of your car in the parking lot. What if you had passed out like that while driving? Scary! I hope you are taking it easy today. And I agree, your friends are sucky for not coming to pick you up from the hospital. :(

Nothing much with me today. Just a lazy Sunday. Later I am going to get my new one hour WATP DVD out and see how far I can make it. I have only tried it once before and was not able to do the full hour. Take care everyone.

Well, I had planned to have a quiet day today. I started by helping hubby get the yard ready to mow (which involved picking up fallen apples and moving the hammock). Quickly it became that plus string trimming, plus a lot of weeding. I think I've finally figured out how to tell a weed from a plant we want. If it's green and thriving -- it's a weed. I lopped and hauled the "tree" weeds and bagged others. So after an hour and a half of yard work, I had my exercise in for the day. (I'll count 40 min).

Then hubby wanted me to cut his hair -- he uses clippers, so it's actually not that tough. He sets the clippers and I just wave them around his head until it looks even. Goof-proof, right? Well, I goofed. I used the trimmer -- which cuts much closer. I noticed right away that I was taking off a lot of hair, but just thought it had been a while. By the time I realized it, I'd shaved well over half his head. We had to pretty much get him bald before it looked decent. At least hair grows back...

I think I'm taking the rest of the afternoon off!!
