:welcome3: :welcome2: Lisa & MsOnemoretime. Glad to have you hear. Everyone is wonderful. Very supportive and great advice.

Wyelle~ Sorry about last night. It is hard to stay on program when your routine is off. I'm proud of you for being back on. And remember, it could have been a lot worse. Your binge may have been high in calories, but at least there wasn't any bad fats in them. I can always think of ways it could have been worse.

I took dd to the orthodontist today. She got the molds of her mouth, digital xrays of her head and mouth. We'll know the entire cost the first week of April. I know it's not gonna be pretty. But she has to have them.

Patti~ I'm now your sore knee buddy. I hurt it yesterday. While stretching of all things. It was a regular stretch, but I felt something pop and it started hurting right away, still does. I hope it's not the same thing as last time. Several years ago I had surgery and the dr fixed a tendon, and removed 5 or 6 cysts. I don't know if they were bit of cartlidge or not. But, my knee cap looks like an earthquake. :yikes: He said more could chip off at any time. We'd just have to wait and see. I DON"T want to have the surgery again. For lots of reasons. !~My son is getting married in September and I have too much to do..... again. 2~The thought of surgery while I'm still on meds for the blood clot from last September, scares me to death. 3~I just don't want to deal with it again.
4~Between dd's braces and ds's wedding, I can't afford it. The surgery or the time off work.:stress:
Of course, reason number 3 is the most important. LOL I guess we'll wait and see.
So far so good today food wise. The weekend was horrid. I'm gonna try to work on the gazelle a little while today. Here's to hoping it doesn't hurt my knee.
Check in later.

Ammi -- Well, the cookies were tasty, at least!! I am taking the remainder of the box to work today. I can resist them now, but their siren call will be too much if I let them stay the night!!

Hubby is traveling a LOT for his new job. Almost every week. I don't like it a lot. I do tend to eat more when he's gone.

I have a dental appt today, and then meetings at work, and then over to the gym for a session with the trainer THEN a "Pampered Chef" party. At least I'll be busy!!
:)

Sandy i am so sorry you hurt your knee.. maybe you can get a wrap and wear it for awhile.. that seems to help mine.. when it gets to hurting like this morning i know its time to wear it again. take it easy with it for awhile. i sure hope you wont have to have surgery on it!

emilymay 02-27-2007 03:01 PM

Sandy - hope your knee feels better and quickly hun.

Ammi - well done on getting that naughty week under control and being back to where u were, not easily done I know so well done!!

I just had the most fun, myself, my husbandm two kids and my parents met up for a swim,it was great fun, my son and I did 25 lengths (of a 25m pool) and dd had fun diving etc, my parents did quite a few too and I thought to myself, how lucky am I at nearly 35 to have two fit parents to swim with and a lovely husband and children too, when did I get so lucky!!

So thats my exercise, spent the day at work visiting families in crisis at home and learning about how to help with services that are available, maybe thats why I am feeling so lucky!! Put jacket potatoes in oven before we swam, so dinner has nearly made itself, hubby is just getting tuna salad ready while I type this!!

SO feeling on top of the world atm!!!

Em xx

Hey everyone-

Hope everyone is having a good week so far. I have been for the last couple of days writing down all of my food and watching for sodium. I am really struggling with sodium intake! They say a good start is 2400mg or under. I am right about 3000. Still not bad though! I am convinced I was getting in way to much salt before...at least 6000mg! Also I have been doing really well with calories with 1500-2000 a day. Its really been helping a lot with actually paying REAL attention to the food labels. I also have been eating WAY more fruit. It really helps to be able to grab some good fruit for a snack. So I guess I can say I am doing really well being OP. I just hope to keep it up! I lost 20 pounds then sort of just wandered away from really paying attention to what I was eating. I have yet to get to the workout room here at my apartment. So I have been trying to do some dancing and floor workouts. Better than nothing! We have yet to get our other stuff in so I haven't weighed in at least two months. I am nervous I have gained! :dunno: Anyways I hope you all had a good day and stayed OP!

Sandy - Is Abby excited about getting braces? Caleigh couldn’t wait to get hers, and touch wood she hasn’t complained about them since! I tell you my friend you should move to the UK, braces are free for kids!! It’s crazy how much they cost isn’t it. It’s going to be an expensive time for you with the braces and the wedding coming up.

Sorry that you hurt your leg, it sounds really painful. I hope you’ve got a good support bandage and some pain killers to help

Heather - Good for you for taking the rest of those cookies to work so that you won’t be tempted to eat them. See, you didn’t have such a big binge the other night. I thought there were only 12 in the pack and you ate the lot, but NO, you stopped even though there were some left, so :cp: well done.

I am sorry that hubby seems to be away a lot with this new job, is it something that will change, or will you both just have to get used to it? It does seem like you are keeping your mind off things well by keeping busy, though I am sure you could have done without a dentist appt  Hope you enjoyed the Pampered Chef Party, did you buy anything nice?

Em - a great time at the pool, and then hubby making the tuna salad to go with the jacket spuds while you typed your post, no wonder you are feeling so great  Not to mention of course losing 3 lbs and passing your assignment. Life is GOOD :D

Michelle - I bet now that you are cutting right back on your sodium intake you will notice a big drop in your weight. Maybe when you do get on the scales you will be pleasantly surprised :crossed:

Hugs,

Ammi :grouphug:

Hello! I'm new here and hope no one minds my joining in. :) My name is Ronnie and I'm a 20 year old college student. I posted in the bio thread if anyone wants to know more about me.

I'm just starting on a meal plan that my doctor and I talked about, but it's been pretty hard. I'm trying to stop eating between meals and have three healthy meals every day.

LKBHouston 02-27-2007 10:00 PM

Wyllen - In answer to your question, the liquid diet program is designed to last about 1 year. The first 3 months are all liquid, the next 3 months are mostly liquid and a little food, and the last 6 months is about learning to eat again. The more you have to lose, the longer you stay on the all liquid portion so I'll probably be on it for quite awhile given the amount of weight I want to lose. I have been gearing myself up for quite some time. I've been told that if you can last about a week, the hunger subsides. I hope that's true. This will truly be a lifestyle change. Hope everyone is doing well!

Ronnie - Good for you. You have to start somewhere. Just be focused on your goal. Welcome!

Lisa

Ronnie -- Welcome! Please do jump in! We'd love to hear more from you. Don't worry about keeping up!

Lisa-- Thanks for the info. There's a member in the 100 pound club who's been doing a liquid diet -- Optifast maybe? I think her screen name is Buckett Girl, but I'm not sure I spelled it right. She's lost a lot of weight. Like you, she spent a long time thinking about it and preparing. She's also getting a lot of counseling of some type as well.

I don't think that is something I ever would have been able to last through, but I wish you good luck!!!!

Hi Ladies,

Well, after a horrid few days, I'm back. I am still staying pretty much op. I did say to heck with it on Sunday but my to heck with it was still secretly watching my points just not writing them down. lol. I have met my exercise goal for February and then some and will post after exercise tomorrow. I spent most of Saturday night and most of Sunday having really bad chest pains. I was pretty sure it was anxiety but, on Monday my hubby made me go to the Dr. I had an adnormal EKG but all the blood tests came out that my heart was okay. I did a follow up with my own Dr. this evening and the news was not so great. I don't want to go into all the details but the bottom line is my weight needs to come off. I am very close to having diabetes. I have high blood pressure and I my heart EKG is not the best. So, I took all of my ww food diary and weight loss book and my exercise journal to my Dr. she went over them and said that I am doing everything right and she believes there is something genetic going on. With my Brother just passing away from a heart anuerism and one of my sisters having one repaird recently, I just found out about it, she thinks we need to shift gears on the weight loss and perhaps look at surgery.

I know how most of you feel about weight loss surgery because I have been having the same feelings but I have given my all to loosing this weight by diet and exercise and instead of loosing weight, I am up to almost 500 pounds again. I haven't cheated not one time in more than two months. (besides after my weigh in on Sunday but it was still within my points) so, I just don't know what to do. My Dr has scheduled me an appointment with a surgeon and I will be talking to him tomorrow to see when my appointment is. She wants to to continue with what I'm doing regardless of me not loosing weight. I am suppposed to continue going to ww because it is helping me to think about what I am eating instead of just mindlessly eating. Plus she thinks the meetings are good for my panic disorder. I am supposed to continue with my exercise too.

I haven't decided to have surgery for sure but, if I do, I really hope that you all will still be my friends. I love you all so much and care about all of the things that are going on in your lives. I wouldn't even think about surgery if my health wasn't so very bad now.

Thank you for all the support about my job and my bad weigh in. To all the loosers, a big Wahooo to you. So happy for you. To all those struggling, big hugs to you. To the new people, a huge welcome. I love the people here. They are all wonderful.

Blessings to you all,
Annie

Oh my gosh Annie!!!

You need to do what is best for you!! It sounds like your Dr. is really in your corner and if surgery will help you get healthy again and what you want, then that is what you need to do! Don't worry about anyone but yourself!!

We are here for you!!!!

futurediva 02-28-2007 06:01 AM

Annie, honey i am so sorry your having health problems:( i may be in the minority, but i for one, am NOT oppossed to surgery. there is a big difference in someone needing to lose 50-100 lbs, and someone needing to lose 200 or more. when your health is at stake, you have to do what is best for you!! you are young, and have LOTS more time to live and be happy, please think of your health. there are several wt loss surgeries available, get information on what is best for you.
I will be thinking and praying for you and your health. No worries, you will always be my friend:) and i am here to support you no matter what route you take, remember its all about your health:)
Hugs,
kymberly
