Unhappy Learned something very depressing

Last night I was playing around on the internet and ended up on Starbucks website. I looked up the nutritional information on my favorite drink. Grande non-fat white chocolate mocha with whip. 440 calories!!! That really blew my mind! I had no idea it had that many calories!! I am such a coffee junkie but I guess I will be staying away from there for a good while! Guess I will save a little money too!

A tall nonfat latte by itself is only 120 calories (160 calories for a grande). Starbucks also has sugar-free syrup (not sure what flavors, you'd have to ask) which would add some sweetness and flavor to your latte for no calories. So instead of a mocha, you could get a nonfat latte with a couple of pumps of sugar-free syrup for a lot fewer calories.

*sighs* I love the Chai Frappuccino Cremes -- fortunately, there's no Starbucks in the city where I live. (I know, I know....it DOES happen up here in the frozen north. ) Of course, the last time I was in a Starbucks, they weren't on the menu either so I'm not sure they're serving them up here anymore.

Order a tall non-fat caffe latte and ask for only 2 pumps of flavor... its only 160 calories (3 weight watcher points) and just sweet enough to be a yummy treat. Grande size with 2 pumps flavor is 200 calories (4 points).

On a related note... did you know that you can buy those big bottles of Starbucks syrup for only $6.99 right in the shop? What a deal... I am always stocked at home with toffee nut flavor YUM.

YES it is true. I work at starbucks, and the drinks aren't the only thing to be careful about.. the pastries are dangerous too. The classic coffee cake has over 700 calories!! And most others are around the 400-600 calorie range (basically all sugar and fat). But they do have fruit cups and some other options in the refridgerated section -- go for those, but check out the nutrition facts!! If you wonder about other drinks, just ask a barista, someone should know the info.

P.S. you can always ask for a "short" size. It is 8oz. and I find it to be just the perfect size. A short nonfat no-whip mocha has only 130 calories. mmm Cheaper too!
