Hey ladies, I'm needing a :kickbutt: these days. I told you about my weekend. Well, I can usually go off my diet on the weekends and then get back on fine on mondays. I don't know what is going on with me these days. This morning for BF I had 2 cups of coffee (with sugar) and popcorn, :eating2: yes, popcorn for breakfast. Yesturday for BF I had 2 Kashi cookies, they are very healthy, but are 150 calories a peice. then for lunch, I had a grilled chicken sandwich (not too bad, if I hadn't had a whole order of fries, and a sweet tea. :mcd:) Then I did ok for supper, but then my little girl kept bringing me these candy corn taffy things, I had about 2, and I had 1/2 a reeses pumpkin (realized halfway what I was doing and gave dd the rest. I think it may be the sweet tea. I LOVE the stuff, and when I drink it, I find myself hunting for "something" later. The whole sugar spike, and and then it drops. :sigh: I know this isn't the most intresting post, but by posting all this, It makes me more aware of it. KWIM....
I am gonna try do do some excersize this morning, Maybe that will help me get back on track. We are going to missouri this weekend. It will be hard to eat healthy on the road. I'll do my best. Jessamy: Thanks for the complement :)) Where are mel and Stevi???? I miss you guys!!! |
WOW holy! you're doing great girl!! I am inspired ;)
|
Olah..............
I need a :kickbutt: , too, Wannabe! I can't seem to muster up the energy to go for my early workouts! Actually, I think it's a vicious cycle: too tired to exercise and lack of exercise makes me tired! By the way, you're SO talented!!!! What a gift........ Think the foot is feeling a little better, so I'm going to try to workout/play volleyball tonight. We'll see how it goes. :crossed: My eating has been good, I just think that my body is so used to exercise that when I don't it "rebels"!! [LBH - I hurt it playing volleyball...getting old, i guess] How are you and your piercing, Goddess? ;) I'm a bit on the "wild side" myself. I have several piercings and a couple tattoos. You wouldn't know it by looking at me..........haha They're all pretty well hidden. You rock, Holy..........at least SOMEBODY is up at 5 exercising!! :) Nail lady ~ Your pic is so small that I can hardly see you! Can you send it to my personal email? I'd better get back to work.................... to anyone I missed! Fondly, Fit |

LOL I am feeling better. Still a little stuffy on one side of my nose but definately tollerable. Michelle, your dh needs a swift kick in the pants!! Didn't he act a fool not too long ago? Stupid men!! Wannabe and Fit, I too have fallen off the wagon and sprained myself. I can't seem to get back on either. Although I'm expecting AF (I believe she's peeked her ugly head in the door already today). Holy, you rock girl. God bless you for getting up at 5 am!! So not happenin' here. lol Everyone else hi and have a great day! |

I know I know, It seems like I'm on here way more then anyone these days. What a couch potato. Heres what happens. I get up to clean out DD's closet, and After working on it a little bit, I hear. You've got mail! So I check, 'cause its my little sis. Then I think hmm wonder what going on at 3fc. and there you have it. Sitting on my rump again. Sigh, ok, back to work.... |

:SIGH:
Ok, Long story short. I got a letter in the mail saying that my bank returned a check for 363.73. UGHHHH That was the check that i wrote to the man who we are buying the house from (We are living here, but the electric is in his name, so I wrote him a check for it) Well, What happened is I wrote the check to him, and i was planinng to go to the ATM and withdraw the money from my Pay pal account that I had made on some auctions I did. Well, When I went to do this, I found out that my debit card was expired. THe only way to get the money at this point was to have it transferred. well that takes 3-4 days. Needless to say, my check got to my bank before my deposit. I called the owner, and told him what happened. He didn't even know about it. Does anyone here know what will happen? Will his bank charge him for a returned check? or will the just resubmit the check? What an ugly situation, and it was soooo embarassing to have to call him. :( |
It was REALLY good you called him. He will get it in the mail as returned and will be charged a fee. Just tell him to let you know what the fee is and pay him again in cash or something that he will trust. You'll get a fee too ferom your bank so be prepared for that (usually $20 or so). No biggie. But it was great you called him to fess up and prepare him so he doesnt write checks on it ans bounce some himself.
Good luck and even the best of us mess up! |
I just hate this!! I have such a note in my stomach. It will be nice if DH never has to know about this. We were just talking about money... OH well, can't do anything about it now.
If my bank charges me, well, thats just sorry, I wouldn't mind paying a charge if they had covered the check, but they returned it. KWIM. |
Hello all
Just have a minute to say hi. I am usually pretty knowledgeable about computers, but how are you all posting your picts? I tried to upload, but it told me file was too large.????? Ok, will check in tomorrow. Take Care. Darcy |
OK Darcy, I see you want a drill sargeant (OMG I cant spell it!)- what are your goals and what are your weaknesses? Lets do goal-setting and I will help you if you help me! I need to stop eating SUGAR! I gave into the CANDY CORN today and hope it stops tomorrow. Unfortunately I didnt feel sick after eating it! Ugh!
|
Wanna, that sucks!
Darcy, I use photobucket.com. I upload them to the site and then you can click on edit and then resize them. I resized mine to 40% I think. Thanks for the compliments on the man. It's a very good thing he's cute cause he's baaadddd! LOL |
He looks like he can use those good looks to get his way! I would never go back to a 2 yrs old (well, I may change my tune at 14!) Seeing that I have been thru both between DD and Step DD, I dont know which to take! Better to jsut drink a lot during those times! Just kidding!
|
Wanna, your bank might have sent you that letter after the first submission by his bank, usually they try to submit it twice, then charge the fee. My suggestion is to call your bank to see the status (customer service - usually branches can't tell) also talk with the landlord, he should trust you for being upfront with him - before he even knew about it. Don't worry! Does God not say that he would provide? He knows what happens to every creature, even knows the # of hairs on your head? Don't let this get to you. Use this as a learning experience! Oh great picture by the way!!!
Okay, I am back. Lauren, no I am not in school, just missed buying school supplies (not the books)! Next fall, though I am thinking. Just have to find the right fit for me. I might just get my masters from the same college I went to for undergrad. I forget who got their _____ pierced, I only have one thing to say. "Are you nuts?" I mean that very lovingly too. I could not have done that. I don't even have pierced ears. Mama, how ya liking the weather now? Are your sinuses cleared up? For the rest of ya: The temp today never got out of the 30's with windchill in the 20's. We even had snow!!! Cute pictures, looks like he's going to be a handful when he gets older though, and a heart breaker too. :) To everyone else  |
Ahhh yes, the weather in Toledo Ohio. We used to run through there twice a week on our way to Canada. Lots of snow!! It was somewhere in Ohio that i got my second speeding ticket. It was Miami Ohio I think (does that sound right?)
Thanks for the encouragement. I really need it right now. I think it was only the first time that they ran it through. I just wrote the check wednesday of last week, and the letter came in today. The bank lady on the phone said that any time a check is returned its a twenty nine dollar charge. Ouch. My main concern is that the owners of the house aren't affected in a negitive way. The other thing is, should I tell DH. I hate to keep anything from him. I always end up telling him. But this time, I almost feel that It would be worst if I did. I'm not sure, I'll just keep praying about it, and maybe the Lord will make the perfect time to bring it up. Or maybe everything will just smooth out, and I won't have to mention it. I ate so terribly tonight because of the stress. Plus DH brought me a Krispy Kreme donut. WUWT??? I don't know, and didn't question him, I just downed half of it and gave the rest to DD. I didn't really even eat supper, I just had a carb fest!! TTyallL |
Let's Do The Friday Dance!
:cb: Happy Friday.............anyone have big plans for the weekend? It's supposed to be a beautiful weekend here (weather wise). It is a little chilly this morning (47) and I'm loving it! Especially considering it was almost 100 degrees a week ago.........ugh.
I was going to get up and go to the gym this morning, but I overslept. I was up really late last night with hubby (hubba hubba ;) ) and then my youngest woke up around 2:30. Oh well--guess I'll have to go tonight or in the morning. I've only gained one pound through my exercise hiatus (2.5 weeks), so I'm somewhat pleased with that. Wannabe ~ I wouldn't worry too much about the returned check. You did exactly the right thing...call the landlord immediately. I'm sure he greatly appreciated that. Like Lisa said, usually banks run checks through twice, so you might want to check with them before you do anything. My honest opinion is to tell DH. You wouldn't want it to come out later, right? Just tell him. I suspect he will completely understand. Mamabear ~ PRECIOUS pics! What a cutie!! Goddess ~ HI! Squishy ~ :D How ya doin? Stevi ~ Where are ya, girl? Holy ~ How are things? I'll check back later! Fondly, Fit |
Hi girls lost one lb yippee im really happy about it LPP it was me that got it pierced HOME done LOL
so im doing ok still playing queen ***** to hubby but it seems to be working i hope you all have a great weekend i dont have net at home so thats why you never see me postin on weekends ( unless i use friends puter) i'll check in later |
Not doing great today. I am concerned that this is not a lifetime thing for me. I am not sure I can commit to thinking about everything I eat and make choices that add up to maintaining a healthy weight. I got so burnt on WW counting points and planning ahead so much when left to my own devices I eat about double what I need. That's why when I was working construction PLUS going to the gym 1-2 hrs a day and when I was breastfeeding were the only times I could maintain! Unless I get another phyical job (and at 36 I dont know if i can take that!) I dont see this happening.
Christie- you and I are in the same boat here. DH comes home with Crispie Cremes for you, my DH wants to have a margarita or 2 with me occasionally. DD wants to go to Ben and Jerry's or bakery once a week and we go. I cannot commit to saying NO more than about 50% of the time! Sorry to be such a pessimist, I just am seeing things that way today. I dont want to lose 27 more lbs and then get so tired of all this that i climb right back up that ole scale! Someone tell me its ok and that I can do this lifetime! But I dont think I'll believe you anyway! There must be another way to think about this! DH senses my sliding. I dont think he notices my wieght going up but I think he just sees my lack of resolve. Well, sigh, off to clean the house. It is starting to smell so I gotta be thorough! |
Squishy   Hang in there we all have our doubts at least i think we all do but personally i have lost alot in the past and came back up so this time sure i dont know if i'll be able to make lifetime BUT im sure as **** gonna try i need to be healthy and be around this life for a while and so i keep telling myself that and keep on truckin so cheer up it will work :dust:
Michelle |
Hi All,
Not much time, but man, sooo many posts!! :faint: Christy, BIG :kickbutt: Oh, your bank probably paid the check to the owner, since he didn't know about it, but charged you. Michelle, A. you're insane, B. put DH in his place Fit, Just from your pics I cannot imagine you with piercings and tatoos!! Lisa, Snow?! 20's, 30's?! I am sooo not ready for winter. I walked out the door this AM at about 45 degrees and was like, oh man, it's cold out!! Molly, The man is getting BIG!! Such a cutie patootie! Hi to anyone I missed! |
Fit: My DD woke up at 2:30 too. ????What's that about. I ended up sleeping in her room so she wouldn't wake DH. The reason I hesitate to tell DH is because he had just questioned me about our checking account/budget, and I chastised him for questioning me. Besides that, he is VERY big about making a good impression on the owners, and will be sooo stressed about it.
We are going to Missouri where my grandparents live, tomorrow, and I just want it to be a smooth trip. Jessamy: I think you are feeling this way because of SBD. It is so restricting that it causes you to rebel. You just have to keep trying. Even though were up and down in our weight, just imagine what we would do if we gave up completely. we'd all be huge. I have been feeling just like you for 3 years now. Now is the first time that I feel in control. The only diff this time is that I have turned it over to the Lord, w/ prayer. And at the sametime, I am doing my part by knowing when to say when. This is the smallest I have been since DD was born, and it (prayer) is the only thing I have done differently. We have a prayer box at church, you put your "prayer's" inside, and when the members of the church pray, they remember to mention the "prayer box" It works!! This group helps too, but I have been on here since April and only started seriously losing in September. Its a "inside" battle. After all don't we eat for comfort, and self fulfillment. (Like I did last night) Anyway, someone else can probably put it more eloquently. (yeah, I spell checked that he he) |
Well Put Wanna
|
Thanks :p
Here is another thing, Squishy. Have you every thought about having an off day once a week? It works for me. A free day where you can eat what ever you want. I do this instead of counting flex points and activity points, and it seems to be working. I do try to have a little bit of self control on those days though. I eat what I want, but try not to make a pig of myself (LOL sometimes I do sometimes I don't) Now this isn't for everyone. My mom says that once she goes off her diet, its hard to get back on. I on the other hand make sure all junk is out of the house by monday. ;) |
I love you guys!
 Thanks so much Goddess and Christie. I dont know what I'd do without you all! I like the idea of a "day off". I'd plan my "date" with dd going to bakery etc and the night of drinking with DH for that day. It bothers DD when I abstain during our special time out together too. She wants me to join the fun and pleasure (pus she wants me to stop taking nibbles of her stuff!) I guess since 1 lb is 3500 cals how much damage can I do 1 day in 7!
From SBD I have enjoyed NOT having starch with dinner since that is often a binging moment. Just NOT having bread or pasta with my meal is not a sacrifice for me and helps calorically for sure! But I miss fruit and cereal in the am. Well, i just will keep on keeping on! Back to FitDay. Another thing that I think is adding to this is $/ job stuff too. I have a "job" but started it not long ago and it is contractual so I never know what kinda $ I will get month to month. DH is getting a little antsy having me not bringing in $ but is unwilling to pitch in with dd much since his arrival time in the evening is so late and or so uncertain. I can not count on him for coming home at a specific time, for sure. Even this week I had a meeting and had to leave at 7am. I told him a few weeks ago that this ONE DAY I needed him to put her on the bus at 815 and he forgot, overbooked his day PLUS put in a dental visit for a nightguard and pissed and moaned about it when I reminded him! I told him to cut the mixed messages. You want me to work, you have to sacrifice too! I did just finish a report for work and now am working on scheduling other patients for Oct/ Nov so I feel some progress and satisfaction so I am thinking it will help keep me from undermining my eating more today. Maybe a dip in the hottub will help too. I have to feel good about myself on a reg basis to keep the hands out of the candy corn (by the way, I tossed the rest of the package in handfuls out the car window this morning!:o ) |
Hi everyone, I'm new here, and several have wrote on my other postings and I Thank you. For those who don't have a clue...My name is Jennifer and I have had weight issues my whole life and recently I have had a complete hysterctomy and now find it almos impossible to even drop a pound, and I don't know what I'm doing wrong! I work out 3xs a week and drink 80-100oz a water everyday! I have been following the 3hr diet and so far I have noticed not a bit of a drop in weight! I am almost to the point of saying this just isn't worth it anymore. I am 5'7 and weigh 179. I'd like to lose about 40lbs. Does anyone know any reason why I wouldn't be able to achieve this? Does having a hysterectomy keep you from losing weight? I am only 29 and have become very depressed about this. I do not take perscrition hormones I am on bio identical hormones. Any help would be nice! I'm willing to revise a diet plan if need be! I have been on ww before surgery but have not tried it since. I do write down everything I eat and usually have 1200 calories a day. If anyone could give some advice, I'd love to hear your opinion!!! Thank you,Jenny
|
LOL, @ throwing the candy corn out the window. That alone can be empowering (SP?) ;) I know how hard it can be tring to lose weight when your life has no routine to depend on. Believe me I know this soo well. All the things you described has been present in my life till recently.
:hugs: |
Jenny, I am on WW and I love it. Nutrition is very important along with counting your calories. I believe if your body doesn't get what it needs, it will store fat.
:welcome: glad to have you here! |
As you can see from my recent posts I am a dieting nightmare on 2 legs but I'd suggest boosing to 1500 cals for a week and see if that gets your metabolism going. With lots of exercise 1200 is prob too little.
|
Thank you!
Thanks to the both of you! I will try boosting up the calories to see if that will make a difference!
How long have you been on ww and how much have you lost? squishy What type of diet are you currently doing? Do ya'll think that maybe this just isn't the right diet for me or maybe I should just give it a while longer? It's so nice to have someone to talk to! My husband is 6'2 and eats whatever he wants and is so thin! My kids are 10, and 7. My son stuggles with his weight alittle and my daughter is just like her daddy! Thank you so much for sharing! Jenny:hug: |
Jenny if you're doin 3 hr diet i don't think you're eating enough with just 1200 cals a day. you should only be eating.....dang at 5'2 and less than 150 would you be eating less than 1450 a day. Try upping a bit....maybe balancing your snacks? what kind of snacks do you have? I'm doing 3 hr diet myself and i really enjoy it. I started in august (22nd to be exact) and have lost 14 lbs since then. I've been working out about 4-5 days a week, not quite as good on the water as I should be though......what about vitamins? you taking a multi???
Ok there we go, i see your post...my brain's brokey but if I can help in any way lemme know. I got my mom and my friend from home hooked on 3 hr diet. Please stick it out if you can!!! You'll have all the support you need here! |
Jenny: I have been "dieting" since my DD was born nearly 3years ago. I am just now consistantly losing weight. I started ww sometime in august, and have lost about 15lbs
What is the 3day diet?????????? |
Wannabe:
Jorge Cruise's 3 hr diet.....you eat a balanced meal of 400 cals every 3 hrs starting with breakfast 1 hr after waking, a snack of 100 cals (possibly more depending on your weight) 3 hrs later, balanced lunch (400 cals) 3 hrs later, another 100 cal snack 3 hrs later, dinner (400 cals) 3 hrs later plus a 50 cal treat. Balanced meal: protein size of a deck of cards, fat the size of a lid to a water bottle, carb the size of a rubic's cube, veggies take up half the plate, or the equivalent to 3 stacked dvds :) The only restrictions are portion sizes. |
I'm alive...but just barely.
HI~~~~
Well, first of all, thanks for missin' me. It all started @ 5am Monday morning. Lil feller was fussin' so I went to pick him up out of the crib, We lowered it (all the way down) about 3 weeks ago, he was slightly to the right so I bent to pick him up and.....WAMMO!!!My back went out. Not just out but disk #5 was slipped, out. My right leg was 3/4" shorter than the left, out. CRYING LIKE A BABY, out. Nearly threw up and fainted from the pain, out!! I'm at about 60% mobility now. I would have dropped on one knee and proposed to my Chiropractor if I could've. Lots of Ice and vicoden. MIL was over all of Mon and Tue, part of Wed. DH had to take off Thur and Fri. I simply could not move. Lil feler was confused as to why Ma ma wasn't holding him. :( Needless to say my house is a stinkin' mess and I'm b!tchy because of it. I really can't stand total disorder and DH just an't seem to keep up. Its kinda good for him to see what I do all day. MIL has a brand new apprciation for it, she was very sore and tired after 2 days of chasing Lil feller. I'm really lucky to have such a lovely MIL. Christi~ You have a great talent, don't waste it. I've spent many years doing "other" things rather than honing my God given gifts. All only to waste my time. thanks for missin' me.:) Goddess~ I keep smellin' a Rat regarding DH. Trust your gut and make no excuses. Glad your Who HA is feeling ok. I too have a coule of tatoos and have pierced things in the past (nose and belly) But you all prolly would've expecteed it from me.:dizzy: Fit~ I'd have never thunk it. Your so cool:cool: Ok thats all I can do...Its killin' me to sit here but I didn't want you all to think I'd died even though that might have felt better!!! LOve hugs and all that Smooshy stuff!!! |
Oh Stevi- You poor thing! We'd all come take shifts mopping and doin laundry and cooking and chasing lil guy around for ya if we could! Glad you have MIL and that DH is seeing some of your "SAHM" bit and that it isnt all Oprah and bonbons! lol like its ANY of that! PLEASE take it easy and let yer self heal. Dont push it and I know you will!
Jenny- I was just cal counting (kinda) and exercising about 5x per week, then went to South Beach Diet and was fine for 3 weeks then just fell off HARD. I may plan to try it again for 2 more weeks in phase 1 to see if that whole craving thing actually goes away for me. I love sweets A LOT and SBD promises tthis will end but it didnt for me. I will try one more time. WW didnt work for me. Well, it did and didnt. I lost all my weight (30 lbs) in about 6-7 mos and then I went nuts and ate it all back plus 13 more! I think the constant thinking and planning about food wore me down and I just got fed up with it. Plus I went thru some head-stuff at that point and started drinking more than usual so I gained fast from that too. I am at a cross road so I will let y'all know what I plan to do, though it may just be a day by day thing. sigh. We had neighbors over and I shared a bottle of wine with the wife. We had a nice time playing board and card games. Nice folks. They have a 15 yo dd and 7 yo son so we sent dd to their house to be babysat and play with the boy so we actually had grown-up time. Holy- any word from DH and how's he doing! Goddess- how's the make-up doing with your DH, is the puter unlocked or smashed on the sidewalk?! hope y'all doing well! |
Holy: Thanks for the advice, I'm gonna start today uping my calories alittle! AS for the snacks I usually eat a piece of fruit, a apple or banana. I do have protein with every meal, I just need to try harder I guess.
Wanna, The diet itself is great, it's my body I'm having a problem with!!!lol I'm never hungry! I was on the ww a few years ago and just didn't have that great of luck with it and I'm not really sure why! I just thought maybe the reason it was hard for me now was because of the hysterectomy, but I can't find anyone who has had one to tell me if this is normal?! Your doing great on ww though!!!! Good for you! Please share your secrets!!!!!:) Stevie: I do hope you will be ok, if it's any comfort I will pray for you!!!!! Squishy: I really don't eat alot of sweets! My family has a long history of diabetes! I have been checked several times and I don't have it. I try to keep everything balanced as well as possible, I'll just eat a bit more and see if I can get a little weighloss going! I do take vitiamins! 16 of them to be exact! I find I feel better to take what I need seperately then just to take one! I'll just try the extra calories this week and see what happens! I hope you all have a Great weekend!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
 Hi everyone!
Stevi, sorry to hear about the back. I know that hurts. I have sciatica so I have pain almost all the time. Not so much now that I dropped a few lbs but still sometimes. :welcome2: Jenny! Glad to have you with us. I am starting over today. I have done really bad the last 2 weeks. 2 weeks ago we had a block party and after it fizzled out a few of us were at one of the neighbors yard drinking and we dragged my dh back outside. He we trying to sleep on the couch. So nwe're sitting there and dh was standing up talking to one of the neighbors and all of a sudden he passed out. We have since had tests and other crap to find out what happened and we got nothing. He wasn't drinking. Our dr thinks he had a vasovago syncopal episode. In english it means he passed out. lol Prolly cause he was super tired, hadn't eaten in several hours and was standing right next to the fire and got too hot. But it sent me into a tailspin and I've been totally off plan since. I am getting back on today. I weighed in at 193 (luckily I only gained back about 5 lbs) and I've been OP all day. Woohoo go me. lol |
AHHHHWWAAAWHWHHW STEVI!! You know how to shock a person. Ouch, Your post was painful to read. That sounds sooo so painful. I'm with squishy, we would sooo be there for you if we could!! Pranin' for ya girl!!
Thanks for the complement. I'm loving drawing and painting, and have you to thank for helping me dig up a buried talent. Jenny, one of my secrets is a great support system. Makes ALL the difference. Molly go you!! LOL Well, I am in MO visiting with the grandfolk. There is nothing to do here but eat. (I brought my laptop though) I am not doing to well eating wise, but I have to drop to 20pts monday, so I'm not too worried about it. |
dang stevi, that sounds bad enough for me to take the vicodin my dentist gave me in april ROFLMAO
i went garage salin today.......did some shopping, went to Home depot for some stuff for hubby (they'll provide wood but no hinges for doors for their 7X7 living quarters) and dangit I thought i was doing good!!! I had a good relaxing day, and low and behold, I ran over a dang screw. brand new one too....must've picked it up at the parking lot. so now i have to get the tire fixed or a new one. that will have to get done ASAP cuz i have no desire to change a flat on the interstate. plus i still need to take hubby's car in to get it all taken care of. i had a subway sammich plus chips for lunch, think i went over on cals by 100 for my meal. dinner will be later...maybe just a salad for a snack. |
Just a quick note to say Hi and I got good news! I lost 2.8 lbs! Finally!!!! I added a few more calories like several of you suggested and after 2 days my weight dropped! Anyway just wanted to share the good news and see if any of you had any luck this week too! Hope all is well!!!!!!
|
YAY JENNY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
