Week of ~Sept 17th~

Since I'm here and it's Sunday and no one has started a new thread, i figured I'd take initiative. i hope I'm not stepping on anyone's toes.

So, I'm new, Hi, nice to meet you all!

What do you all have planned for the week?

My life is so sedentary. I am currently unemployed, have been since May 1st. I've been looking for a job but cant' find one. I think I've applied to almost 200 jobs, but only received maybe 10 calls and only 2 interviews!! What's up with that??? I have 9 years of administrative experience, with 4 of them being supervisory!!! It's pathetic.

So I started a veterinary assistant distance learning program. Problem is, I can't find a way to get in at any vets office around here. It's just so frustrating.

I'm also kind of at an impasse in my relationship. We've been together 5 1/2 years and i'm ready to get married, he isn't. there is lots more to that, but bottom line is that he isn't ready. He says he has "issues" but he doesn't know what they are...hmmmm. we've been living together for 3 years, he supports me financially and mostly emotionally. We've agreed to go to counseling. Problem is we can't find a counselor that is available!!!! Grrrrrrrrr

So, all of the above are adding to my eating junk food, and convenience foods. Plus, they are cheaper. Money is slim to none at the moment.

I hope to get on the treadmill or do some WATP today but my knees and ankles have been killing me lately.

I'm just all around frustrated.

LBH 09-17-2006 12:35 PM

Hi Trish! :welcome2:

Hi All,

Going to try and be more active this week! (I mean on the thread!) OK, I guess I should try and be more physically active too! I did play outside with the boys a bit this AM, and hung some linens on the line, but I guess there's not much physical activity involved there, except for carry the basket of wet laundry down the stairs.

Peter's at Karate with DH and Robby's sleeping! :woo: Well, except that I have to go clean mom's main bathroom because my brother and SIL and kids are coming over today. It's my job to clean her main bathroom because we use it to bathe the boys since we only have a stall shower.

Have a great day all!

Holyteror 09-17-2006 06:29 PM

Welcome Trish :)

Now either my scale lied last week or just one day of non focused eating got me into trouble. Either way I'm up one pound this week, back to 205. And I'm just starting to get the hang of having my weekends under control with what I eat. I've gotta get better at what I'm eating and exercising. I didn't have enough water either so I've gotta get that underway too.

Tuesday is the day ladies....I will be a single wife again. I'm not ready for hubby to be gone for so long but I just hope he comes home safely. I guess having total control of what I eat and how I exercise will be quite a bit easier since hubby won't be around to make tons of tatertots or stuff I need to limit my consumption. I'm tryin hard to hold the emotions together, dangit I'm still angry that he has to go. he's not even doing his own job that he currently does over there!! And my "weekend" that I was promised....has turned into me sitting alone with the dog. He's still working a project for these morons.

*sighs* Ok I'll stop grouching....I just get frustrated when things don't go my way, and frankly, I'd rather have my husband home with me.....i'm gonna relax a bit before my football game starts tonight. I suppose I could start making the other "appetizer" i'm making for tonight.

Hope you're all doing ok....

Princsstrish 09-17-2006 07:20 PM

Hi Holyteror

Yes, it is easier to control what you are eating when there is no one around to sabotage. Plus, it's also easier to exercise when no one is around too.

We'll be here to keep you company!!!

Go Patriots! :P

mamabear272 09-17-2006 08:32 PM

Holy, All you can do is pray that he comes home safely. I will also pray for you and him.

:welcome2: Trish, sorry that you're having a rough time. Good for you though making the decision to watch your eating and things. You just have to stick with it!

I had wi yesterday but weighed after I ate (dummy lol). So I took the average of Friday and today and came up with 189.4 (they were 188.2 and 190.6). I'll take it! LOL My commitments this week are to make sure I'm drinking my water and i'm going to go for a walk with my mom every day. There is a walking track near her house that is 1.25 mi. So we'll be doing that.

Other than that I don't know if I mentioned but I have decided to go back to school! I am either going for accounting or some other business type degree. It won't be till Jan cause I JUST decided and it's already started and I have to get apps in for loans. I'm so excited!! OK I'm off to work on my site. Have a great rest of your nights!

Princsstrish 09-17-2006 08:45 PM

Molly, that's exciting about school!!! I just started a distance learning program for veterinary assistance. i would have gone to an actual school but there are none near by. I love it. It's wonderful to be working out my brain!!

I did a 35 minute treadmill workout today. I felt so good afterwards.

For dinner, ummmm 1/2 a small steak bomb calzone and some french fries. Just enough to be full. I think I got for the intuitive eating thing. It works for me. I don't overeat unless it's a holiday.

lppennington 09-17-2006 08:45 PM

Molly that is great!!! What school did you choose? Go to Key.com they have all kinds of scholorships and grants that you can apply for. I know that Talbots has a scholorship on there that is pretty good.

Holy, I will be praying for you and hubby as well. I cant even begin to imagine what you are facing at this time. Will pray for his safety and your peace of mind.

:welcome3: Trish! we are glad to have you. Feel free to jump right on in.

Go Bengals 2 - 0!!

Lisa

Princsstrish 09-17-2006 08:46 PM

Lisa, I'm jumping in with both feet!!! :) Thanks for the weclome!

KarenK 09-17-2006 10:52 PM

Hello everyone. We spent the day at a "Day Out With Thomas" event yesterday. Alex was SO excited...oh, not to see Thomas, but because they had a tent set up with train tables/trains inside. He loves playing with other peoples trains. He has his own table and trains, but they aren't as fun I guess. He did like Thomas. We saw the cutest motel, it was all converted cabooses. Each room or pair of rooms was a car. We are going to try to go back sometime and stay there. We had dinner in a real RR car diner. It was fun.

Today a nearby town had a town-wide garage sale. We went and got some good stuff for the kids. Then when we got home I had to clean it all up! I got a FP kitchen set and Alex was having a blast "cooking".

In my spare time I've been catching up with Grey's Anatomy. I LOVE that show.

Princsstrish: Welcome!!

Have a great week!

Princsstrish 09-18-2006 12:50 AM

Karen - Thanks for the welcome! Glad to be here. Have a good week yourself!

nail-lady 09-18-2006 08:59 AM

Hello ladies!

:welcome: Trish! We're always happy to make a new friend! Sorry to hear of your struggles, hope things turn around soon.

Karen~I am addicted to Grey's Anatomy!! I SOOO can not wait until Thursday, even though I know that Meredith is just going to turn around and run! I have not decided yet who I would like for her to choose, they are both so sweet and not too bad to look at either! ;)

Holy~I guess that I missed this in previous posts (that's what I get for being out of the loop for a little while), but where is your hubby off to? Hope he has a safe trip and return.

Molly~Congrats on the decision to return to school! :cheer: Good luck!! I have been toying with the idea myself, but not able to make a firm decision yet and not sure if or when I will decide.

Well, my weekend was busy, but still productive. We had soccer on Sat. am and before it started, I reminded the parents that most of the kids on our team are 1st graders (only 1 2nd grader) and this is their first year playing, so to cheer no matter what the outcome.....our games have been close, but this time my little guys and gals won their first game!!! :woo: I did not keep score, some of the parents (and of course the kids) kept track *13-6*. The first thing that I ask the kids before a game starts is "What is the most important thing that we need to do today?" They finally got the answer right Sat. "To Have FUN!!" But after the game, one of the boys told me "I always have fun, but it sure feels good to win!" He is so funny!!!

Sunday, I managed to finish some outdoor painting projects that have been waiting far too long, then I realized why it took me so long, it was alot like work! :stress: I even made it to my DH cousin's bridal shower too.

Well, I hope that everyone has a wonderful day and I will check in again soon.
Take care,
Darcy

squishy1234 09-18-2006 09:39 AM

Hi All,
I went for a hike yesterday with DH, DD, my dad, and my dog. It was a 2800 ft mtn just south of the White Mtns and we had a great time! I felt GREAT! I didnt struggle much, am not achy today, and the only times I felt strained was on steep assents when my heart rate got too high. I am so glad I am not carrying those extra 19 lbs! I cant wait until I shed 26 more! WOW!~I have been eating really well and go horseback riding today! Hiking and riding are way more fun right now than elliptical. I know I will have plenty of time for that this winter. Ugh! I will be reduced to that, x-country skiing if we get good snow, and skating which I dont love.Ah, winter in NH!:dizzy:

Hi Trish! Welcome! I hear you on that unemplyed thing! I am underemployed (somewhat by choice actually) but the East Coast is pretty pokey! I dont know where they are gettig that unemployment is down! Good luck to you! I know first-hand that being around the house is aweful for the waistline!

Lauren- every little bit of activity helps and sure beats sitting in front of the tube! Plus great for the boys to have mommy playing too!

Holy- We are all here for you! I sense that this time apart will be a good time for you to evaluate and change your own habits. You already are preparing for that! It is YOU time now. I know being apart will be super-hard and adding to that stress is your worry for him. I hope you have lots of support from your fam and if not you have us! ;)

Mama bear- I like that you have nice, small, attainable goal this week that will make a huge difference in you wt loss! Great ideas!

Karen- DH loved Thomas too when she was 3-5. I actually miss those days but she still remembers which ones are what colors and which sizes and even recognizes whistles as to who makes what sounds! Amazing. ASounds like a great kiddo weekend!

Darcy- I was a soccer coach when DD was in 1st grade. We jsut did games adn drills and didnt even play games until the last day. This taught the kids (and parents!) that it is all about FUN! I like your attitude!

mamabear272 09-18-2006 10:40 AM

Lisa, I'm going to go back to Owens. I went to the FAFSA site and submitted my app on Friday. I'll also check out Key. Thanks for the info!!

I did my walk with mom today. 20 min to walk 1.25 mi. Not too shabby! Especially since I had to carry the man they whole way. So I ended up carrying the 25 lbs that I've lost. lol He's not feeling great today, a bit of a runny nose. I think he's coming down with a cold. With the weather changing the way it has it's expected. It was in the low 70's last week and this weekend it was 80. Hello!! If you don't like the weather in Ohio wait 5 minutes and it'll change. lol

Anyway, I'm off to the shower. Make it a great day everyone!!

wannaBsize7 09-18-2006 10:45 AM

I realy suck at weekends!! I barely even count points. I still lose though, at a slow rate. Makes me wonder what I could accomplish if I stayed on track, and excersized more!!??!!

Trish: Hey there, nice to meet you! You've come to a great place for support! :welcome:

Lauren: Hello!

Holy: Hang in there, he'll be back before you know it, and all this will just be a memorie. (BIL will be leaving for 8 months next year) I've seen my little sis go through this and I have to say she and her DH are closer for it. (Ok, I know all that isn't worth a hill of beans right now, but I though I would try anyway)

Molly: congrats on going back to school. I just couldn't imagine, makes my head hurt to think about it. LOL

Karenk, I have a little cousin that is crazy about Thomas. He would love something like that. Wish I could find some good yardsales, this has NOT been a good year for them around here.
Darcy: I don't think we have soccor around here, but I am thinking of putting DD in t-ball when the time comes back around... she'll be 3. should be fun!

Squishy: way to go!! Maybe I should start planning mor active weekend activitys!!

Holyteror 09-18-2006 11:59 AM

*snort* you guys make me laugh :)
Naillady: he's off to afghanistan tomorrow morning. He stayed out til god knows when working and hopefully finishing his project last night. So I don't know when he'll get up today but we have stuff to do. I found my honeybunch of a dog curled up on the end of the bed when I woke up and discovered that hubby was in bed. At least this time around I'll have my dog to keep me company.

This is time for me to fix things for myself. I'll be ok, I just worry....well heck ladies you've ready my posts..I won't bore you with them again :)

LOL I like the smilies above my post. I look like the walking one LOLOLOL

707Goddess 09-18-2006 12:01 PM

Happy monday

Hello ladies
Well this weekend was bad eating and drank too much yesterday me and hubby had a talk and he wasnt talking to her she was calling him and he said he only answered once to tell her to stop calling ( the bill reflected this) so I guess i over reacted (just a little) :tantrum: but im good now anyways so it's monday morning and i get in a little early to get some work done and guess what my hard drive took a dump im restoring it now (good thing there are other computers to use) So just a typical monday morning here i was so excited about the loss friday that i think thats why i over ate

Princsstrish 09-18-2006 01:22 PM

I hear you guys talking about outdoor activities. Have any of you ever tried Letterboxing?? I know many moms who bring their kids along. Please check out www.letterboxing.org or do a google search for it. It's so cool.

Basically, the gist of it is....

People place "boxes" somewhere and then post clues to how to find them. They are EVERYWHERE!!!!!! Kids like to follow the clues. most clues are looking for certain shaped trees, or other landmarks. The clues usually take you to places around your town or area that you never even knew were there. Most are kid friendly too. It's just a fantastic little hobby.

When you find the box, there is a stamp inside. You stamp your logbook and then you should have your own stamp and stamp the logbook that was found with the box! It's like a treasure hunt!!!! Just a suggestion.

Today I'm gonna do my WATP Walk/Kick, Maybe....I'd kinda like to go on the treadmill again cuz I never finishe watching the movie I was watching while walking yesterday..hehe Madagascar.

I'm also gonna finish up a doily I'm making for someone. I have laundry to do, Banana Bread to make. hehehe

yes, i know being at home is bad for the waistline. That's part of how I gained all my weight back.

Have a good Monday everyone!!!!!

707Goddess 09-18-2006 01:59 PM

I just read last weeks page and I love you ladies all of you were there for me and i coulndt have asked for a better group of friends ........
Thank you

:whoo: :fr: MELODY~~ good gwad woman you have lost soooo much you are looking GOOD
what are you following again? WW
Congrats

squishy1234 09-18-2006 03:19 PM

Goddess- glad to hear he had an explaination. Nice to see that it was doin'the right thing too, telling her to stop calling. Too bad he couldnt have just said thay to you from the get-go and spare you the stressing and the dividing of assets in your mind! Ugh! MEN!

I am not feeling great today now- feel kinda light-headed :dizzy: and like my heart is pounding though my pulse is ok. I lay down for a few min but always feel guilty doing that when DH is working and DD is at school! I know, I know- but who is cooking dinner while dd is watching TV and who is washing dishes at 8:30 pm?! :?:

I just was thinking- why does losing weight take so much effort and time and thought, while gaining is so darn easy! We all deservea BIG  :carrot:  :carrot: for all we are doing for ourselves and our fams and friends! THIS IS HARD WORK!!!

Stevi-rocks 09-18-2006 04:25 PM

Yo! Whats the haps my cyber homies....
I was channeling my inner thug. logan is making posting difficult to impossible. I have to have one eye on him at all times. Needless to say I look funny crosseyed...lol The weekend was relatively uneventful, went out Friday. Saw a pretty crappy band, the bass player thought I was purty and sent over a drink asking my name...DH went over and let him know my name AND my LAST name as it matches his and that "No, we're not brother and sister either" HA! Pretty funny stuff. I think its good for DH sometimes. We (DH and myself) were tiffing yest, nothing serious, but I would like Y'alls opinions on the topic. DH gets all bent out of shape when I come in and "rescue" Logan:bb: when he crys. He claims he needs the opportunity to let the baby get used to Daddy soothing him. I understand....to a point. How freekin' long am I suppose to just let him cry and watch DH attempt everything except what he needs.....HIS MOMMIE!!! He just doesn't get it. In the womb...9 months...MY heartbeat, voice, smell, etc.... Sometimes its just me he wants. DH gets all butthurt.:stress: Cute but ridiculous. Am I wrong?:?:
This weekend is a train wreck waiting to happen. Suppose to attend a gig Fri and Sat. Have an additional practice scheduled Sat. Invited to a party Sat for friends moving away. ALL that and I'm already commited to a mural project ALL weekend. I'm still working out the details.:chin:
:welcome: Trish~ I beg to differ on the being at home thing. I gained it workin' lost it at home.
Goddess~ Glad its workin' out.
Lauren~ I can't remember for the life of me what I was gonna say to you but HI anyways!:dunno:
Holy~ Sorry bout DH...I kinda like it when mine leaves for a bit but not for months!!!

Holyteror 09-18-2006 04:33 PM

Stevi i was wonderin where you were :) Boy it's busy hwere during the day...Normally I'm at work and can't check up on the board. It'll be nice to have a day to recoup tomorrow and the 3 day workweek. i can live with that. It'll be the coworker stuff that'll drive me nuts.....but i guess that's to be expected out of them.

I can't give any advice cuz I'm not a mommy yet :) sorry!!

wannaBsize7 09-18-2006 07:12 PM

I know how you fell Stevi. When DD was little, she had colic, and I was always so scared that if she started crying, She wouldn't stop for hours. It made it hard for me not to come running when DH had her. There is one thing to think about though. I was afraid that if I kept pushing him away, that he would get used to me handling everything. I was afraid they wouldn't bond, and that he wouldn't be as close to her as I was. I just couldn't stand the though of that!

mamabear272 09-18-2006 08:00 PM

Stevi, let dh take care of Logan. i did exactly what you're doing and now I have a 2 yo who has re-grown his umbilical cord and won't let me 2 feet away from him. I am now having to force him to let daddy do things for him and it's not fun!!

Melody, I did forget to tell you how awesome you look!! I knew I was forgetting someone yesterday when I was posting. LOL

Squishy, for goodness sake. Lay down girl!! You get to do that sometimes. DH is just going to have to understand how hard it is staying home. I can attest to this now because I've done both. I used to work full time and now I stay home and staying home is not easy!

Michelle, glad to hear that dh wasn't doing anything funky. I hope you guys were able to get everything out there and work through it.

I don't think I'm gonna get to go to play group or for my walk tomorrow. Ricky has gotten worse with his cold. He was off all day and is now in bed in his sleeper jammies. I think we're just gonna stay home tom'w and pump juice and stuff. So now I'm off to finish laundry. It really piles up so quickly! UGH

MelodyL 09-19-2006 03:05 AM

Hey everyone!! Thanks so much for all the wonderful comments!! They are added motivation for me!! :)

I was at work all weekend, which always takes 3 whole days of time away from me, so am just getting here to post now. Worked my two sixteen hour shifts on Saturday and Sunday, slept half of today, and then had to get things here at home straightened back up. Tomorrow is my WW's meeting, I'm hoping I have a good weigh in, we'll see. I didn't eat my flex points again this week, so I'm hoping it shows on the scale!!

Molly, sorry your son is sick, I hope he is feeling better soon.

Stevi, yeah it's good for your dh to remember just how pretty you are and to feel a bit jealous once in awhile, lol. As for your tiff, I can see both sides, it's true that sometimes kids just want their Mommy and that's all their is to it, and sometimes we jump in too soon and like Wannabe said, then we end up handling it all ourselves and wonder why we aren't getting more help. Maybe you guys can come to a compromise?? ;)

Squishy, I feel guilty when I take a nap during the day too, I feel like I should be doing something, but I've done it a couple times now since the kids got back in school. If you're tired, treat yourself once in awhile and take a nap!!

Michelle, so glad that your husband finally talked to you instead of just getting mad at you and making things worse!! I'm also glad that it was a good explanation, hope she doesn't call anymore. And yes, I'm doing WW's, I lost the first 27 pounds on my own just counting calories, but now I'm doing WW's. :)

Trish, welcome to the forum!! I've never heard of letterboxing, but it sounds like fun.

Holy, I hope you and your dh get some time together before he leaves, that would be frustrating to know that he was leaving for so long and not being able to find the time to spend some quality time together alone first!!

Hi Lauren!! :)

Darcy, sounds like you do a great job coacing the kids, I'm with the little guy that said winning is fun, lol. It's important to just have fun playing, but it does make it twice as good to win too!!

Karen, sounds like you guys had a good weekend, Noah would've loved that, he loves trains!!

Wannabe, sorry your having a hard time on the weekends, I usually do ok on the weekends because I'm usually at work, lol, but I know that if I had a husband at home and we were doing family things then I would have a hard time too. I always have a much harder time losing weight when there's a man around because they eat so much!! Hang in there, you're doing great and as long as your losing and losing in a way that works for you long term then that's all that matters!!

Well I hope I got everyone!! Hope everyone had a great weekend and start to their week!!

nail-lady 09-19-2006 09:00 AM

Hello everyone! I was feeling kind of lazy this morning because it is raining here, but getting on and reading all of the posts has got me feeling much better.

Squishy~I am impressed with all you do!! I have been trying to enjoy the outdoor activities before winter hits too. We all have x-country skiis and snomobiles for winter, but sometimes it is just too bitter-cold out there to do those things. We often take the kids to an indoor ice skating rink in winter, atleast that way we do not have to bear the bitter wind that comes off the lake. Now, Go lay down and do not feel guilty about it!! It sounds like you are just not feeling well and we all need to take time to rest to get better!

Molly~Sorry to hear the little guy is not feeling well, hope he is over it soon. I hear ya on the weather, it is exactly the same here! 85 yesterday, now rainy and yucky today, and I guess that it is going to be dropping over the next week. Spring and fall is when it fluctuates the most, it can be sunny in the morning, 80 by noon, raining by 2 and snowing overnight, you just never know here either.

Christie~My boys do little league too (I am a spectator for that, no coaching for me) and they love it! It is so much fun to watch the kids at t-ball, they will sit out in the field picking clover, flowers or whatever is there and the ones infield are drawing pictures in the dirt. It is so precious to watch them! BTW, I just love that picture of your daughter on the quilt, that is adorable!

Holy~That's gotta be tough, sending him off to Afghanistan. We'll send up a prayer to keep him safe.

Michelle~Glad to hear things are getting better at home and that he was able to explain the call...wish he would've done that right away though...Squishy's right. UHG, Men!!

Trish~letterboxing? Sounds interesting. Madagascar, what a cute movie! We just watched Disney's The Wild, it was pretty much the same concept, but still cute.

Stevi~It is nice when the men in our lives are reminded of just how good they've got it, not to mention the fact that it can help boost our own confidence when someone new shows an interest. About Logan...I know that sometimes they just want mommy, it is important that dad gets to soothe some, but believe me, it won't be long and dad will be the hero! My boys were mama's boys, but now they will do anything for DH and they love spending time with him, no matter what they are doing. I could be doing that very same thing and they won't want to bother unless dad is doing it too. They have lots of mommy time when dad's not home so when he is, it is all about dad! So tell your hubby not to stress too much right now, his time is coming very soon!

Well, we all went on a 2.5 mile hike through the woods, to a big pond with cub scouts last night. My youngest caught about 6 frogs and toads, he had a ball! The oldest was feeding the fish in the pond and trying to catch some in a bucket, they had alot of fun on our nature walk. Unfortunately it is getting dark here so early now, it was dark when we got out of the woods, so it was off to shower and into bed quickly for the kids. They do not like to have to rush to bed, they need a little time to wind down, but none of that last night, scouts ran later than normal.
Well, it is off to shower and then to they boys school for me today. Hope everyone has a great day!
Darcy

wannaBsize7 09-19-2006 09:01 AM

Goood morning everyone!!

I have a question maybe someone can answer for me. DH is doing WW with me. He does weight training, so he eats high protein. I know that you get extra points for this, but does anyone know how many? (remember, I have no WW material,so I can't look it up)

I think TOM will be here soon. I was so tired yesturday. I felt like taking a nap, and was wondering "whats wronge with my lazy butt" Then I realized and to myself to bed. I was also wanting to eat all day, but I am proud to say that I came in at exactly 22 pnts and that is with dessert.

Which was.

Grham crackers w/ peanut butter spread really thin. Layered in a bowl with ff sf chocolate fudge pudding.

I put it in the fridge for a couple of hours. It would be really good set over night. (DH would sleep walk to the kitchen an eat it!)

Thanks Melody. I don't do too terribly bad on the we. I just don't count points, and I try to have self control. We'll see next WI. If I don't lose more then a pound, I'll know that I got to cut it out.

Aww, Mammabear, sorry to hear your little one is not feeling well. Bethany is just getting over some kind of cold herself.

LBH 09-19-2006 09:19 AM

Hi All,

Mel, Good luck at WI today! :crossed:

Molly, Sorry Ricky's sick, hope it passes soon! Maybe a nice warm vapor bath?

Cristi, I'm laughing at worrying about DD crying and not stopping! Peter was colicky for 3 months straight. He cried from like 4-7 every night, there was nothing you could do. I'm laughing because you know a colicky baby *is* going to start and *is not* going to stop until their certain time to cry is over!!

Stevi, Ah yes, the exploration stage! Where everything is pulled apart and tasted, right? As far as DH trying to console him, I'd let him try. Maybe you could let him at it for 10-15 minutes, and then rescue him? ****, I'd just be happy that DH was willing! Is this like overnight you're talking about?

Squishy, how are you feeling today? Maybe your blood sugar was low and you just needed to eat something?

Michelle, I'm sorry about what's going on with DH, hope it gets better either way.

Trish, never heard of letterboxing, sounds interesting. I think it sounds similar to geocaching, which Karen & her DH do sometimes.
I will agree on being home being bad...all I do is eat all day when I'm home, like out of work. That's also why weekends are bad for me, unless I'm busy!

Holy, How are you doing today? Sending you a BIG

Karen, I would say Peter would have LOVED the day out with Thomas, but who knows these days. Maybe in the future.

Yesterday's first day at daycare was awesome! They did fabulous. I mean, Robby screamed bloody murder in the AM, and again today, but I got to watch him by webcam on and off all day and they did great! :D I'm soo happy that Peter is happy about going to daycare again!

 Hi to everyone else!!

Wow Darcy, it sounds like you had a lot of fun!! LOL @ little kids playing instead of playing ball. My nephew was in t-ball. He was playing in the sand, and befor my Sister could stop him, he put a handful of sand in the kids hair that was on the base he was gaurding. No one thought that was funny (not at the time anyway) About DD's pic Thanks, I love taking pictures of her :D

Lauren: AHHH, so you know how I feel ;) I still don't know if it was colic, or my BMilk. I stopped Bfeeding @ 3months, and that is when colic usually starts, so I'll never know for sure!

Ok, for BF I had a low carb tortillia (1pt) spread with 1tsp peanutbutter (1ptish) 1/2 a bannana (1pt) I fryed it in pam. It was really good! (But boy is peanut butter high in points!!! I have to use it really sparingly

Christie, the activity points are based on intensity level of activity, minutes done and body weight. For instance, my DH will lift weights for 50 minutes at moderate to high intensity and he weighs 200. So, that gives him an additional 5 points. If he was do do it at a high intensity it would give him 8 points.
It would be hard to calculate without the slide, unless he follows a pretty regular schedule for lifting. I would be happy to help you figure out the points for him whenever you need them. I wish that I still knew someone going to WW meetings so I could get an additional activity slide. Sorry.
Darcy

Thanks Darcy!!

WEll, He is 249lbs. He trains about 45 mins. I'm not sure about low intensity, or high. He does four sets of each, and he does lower reps on heavy week and higher reps when he trains with lighter weight. I would say high intensity.

Thanks for all your kind works and telling me to set my butt down yest. You are right, all of you! I have a movie to watch today before returning it so I will do just that!It is guilt-ridden though isnt it! Why cant we just relax! It is a social pressure to be doing something all day... hmmm

I ended up chugging lots of water in the afternoon and then going for a ride with the horse owner's daughter who is 19. We had great fun! She rode the horse I have been riding lately and saidthe horse was better than she has been in a long time (horse is 18 and stiff all the time in the back and neck due to a few injuries in the past 2-3 yrs). She commended ME on working with her so well in the past few weeks! HUH!? I havent ridden in a long time and feel so rusty I cant imagine what I did but it felt really good to be complimented! This girl grew up on a horse and knows her stuff (I am experienced too but VERY rusty).

BTW I had 3 people comment on my weight loss last Fri. WOW! I am working on getting my "before" pic but my dad has it on his computer and he is on a month-long vaca in Maine. I'll have to wait until OCt. I remember I was quite pudgy so I am excited to see it and get a new shot of me soon to compare. I will share with you guys. Melody's was motivating!

So, after that I felt fine! I had an awesome dinner, watched some of Narnia with the fam and went nighty night. I dreamed of having failing brakes on my car. That is a sign of feeling out of control in my life. I am trying to assess that today...

Well, you guys all are great and I hope your day goes awesome. To those (like, every one of us) who have a hard time eating with chowing DHs and kids and being around food constantly when we are home- MORE POWER TO US! Its why losing wt is harder than quitting smoking or drinking because it is ALWAYS around us and we stuill have to eat! It's like quitting drinking while you work as a bartender or something! AHHHHHHH!

Wannabe- I have the exercise slide. I was hoping to find my booklet Getting Started but I tucked it away somewhere recently. I put it somewhere where I could find it again LOL.

I'll send what I have and if it turns up I'll get that off to you too.

Jess

Lauren - It is much like geocaching, except without the GPS, it's mostly visual clues. Sometime the clues are riddles and puzzles. Geocachers and Letterboxers have a long standing "feud" going. Alot of geocachers don't know about letterboxing and many boxes are planted near each other. The LB boxes get "raided" by the geocachers. It's quite interesting. LOL I really like it because it gets me OUT when I would rather stay IN. Gives me a goal.

Today I have to stay in all day because I offered up a bunch of things on freecycle and most of the people are coming to take them away today! Feels good to get rid of some excess!!!

I made the beef stroganoff recipe that is listed under the recipes thread last night. It came out very very well. I used Healthy Request Cream of Mushroom Soup and fat free sour cream. next time I will add spices or something to it but it tasted yummy. We served it over egg noodles with a bleu cheese vinaigrette salad. One tiny problem, it gave us really bad gas...not sure what would have caused that..the FF sour cream???

I also made lower fat banana bread, the recipe came off of allrecipes.com YUM!!!! That website is one of my favorite sources for recipes.

Have a good Tuesday everyone!!!

goal for the day is to get on the treadmill!

Princsstrish 09-19-2006 02:59 PM

Since I am new to this group, I'm curious about you all!!!

What do you guys do for hobbies????

I'm a crocheter, knitter, cross stitcher, anything crafter. I watch alot of movies. Letterboxing. None of my hobbies really go well with weight loss but I'll make it work!!!

Stevi-rocks 09-19-2006 03:31 PM

Well, the lil feller is sleeping. It won't be for long, the trend today is about 20 whole minutes. My alergies are crazy today! Sneezing all day so far. Nose burning. I DO NOT want to attempt taking care of Logan all goofy on Zirtec. The stuff makes me very sleepy. I'll just continue to sneeze on the poor lil feller.:D I forgot to weigh this morning, but I don't feel a loss. I do it tomorrow. I got the band booked for a Halloween party gig on Oct. 28th. Now I have to come up with a super snazzy costume. Any ideas? I have to be reasonably comfortable.
Lauren~ Hey gorgeous. Yeah, the project is Sat morning through Sun afternoon as its in Apple Vally, about 1 1/2 hours from me. I'm painting a Dora room. Prep is all done, I just have to do all the pretty's. Characters etc...
Holy~ Your funny! Maybe I'll go as Middle-aged, overweight Ariel! Ahh ahhh ahhhhhh *cough* Ahh ahhh ahhhhhh!!! :)
Trish~ Yeah, I just love Disney. I generally do whatever my customers want. I'm doing the Villians as a part of my portfolio as I really enjoy them and since I end up giving my paintings and drawings to friends that ask for them leaving me with nothing original to show! Next is Malificent, she's the evil witch in sleeping beauty with the horns.
Darcy~ Thanks beautifulness!
Fit~ I HATE it when that happens!! DArn it all!
I forgot to tell everyone that I got Logans costume in the mail yest. Its a Tom Arma skunk costume...Funniest thing I have ever seen!!! I'm gonna take his 9 month professional portraits in it. The'll be a lil early but oh well!
Smooches!
