Talking Ok, trying to come up with healthy snacks hasn't been easy

i bought some celery, cut it up, and put it in the fridge. I thought yeah, just like always, I'll end up throwing it out when it gets all shrively. So yesterday, I put PB on it and a couple of raisins. It was great. It beats all logic why something icky like celery would taste so good with sweet yummy peanut butter. well, today I thought, "gee, I better take it easy on the peanut butter, so I grabbed a jar of taco bell salsa. I thought there is no way I will like this, but I kept an open mind. Well, It tasted GREAT. Kinda like a spicy veggie stew. Its funny how something so simple can get you so modivated! (DH said Gross, this is coming from the guy who puts scrambled eggs in his oat meal, and bannanas in his tuna. )

I've been posting on the 20 something board, but was thinking of crossing over to the 30 somethings. I am 29, kinda stuck in the middle.

Ewww. Bananas in tuna? Well, I guess everyone has something weird that they like--mine is Braunschweiger (liversausage) with pickle relish for a sandwich! (But not now--way too high in fat and sugar.)

My healthy snacks are nuts (almonds or walnuts or cashews) or cherries. Cherries are just great this time of year and they require no preparation--just a bit of agility in eating them!

Nuts and cherries! I forgot about that. I use to carry nuts and raisins to work, I gotta add that to my gro list now!

LOL I used to love Braunschweiger, when I was a kid, then I found out what it was.. Used to call it Brown Swaggerd LOL

I say this constantly, but I'll say it again...Make a master plan. Write down EVERY food you can think of (research a little if you need to for memory jogging) that will fit in your new diet lifestyle. When I suggested those above snacks, I didnt' think. They came off part of my master life plan list. Write down: Breakfast, Lunch, Supper, Snacks (including cheat alternatives) and Fruits, Veggies, Meats, Dairy. Put foods in it. Some will have more than one place. That's okay. It takes work but it is SOOOO worth it. When you get in a rut, you can go back to it and remind yourself what varitety is available. You can also add to it as time goes by.
