Hi everyone! Well I went to my Weight Watchers meeting this morning and was up 1.4 pounds (af is here) so I while I know it was because of AF I was still depressed about it. So now to get up and forget about it and move on until next week, sigh.

Michelle, I hope your dh gets the job, my ex went through the police academy after he had gotten a job with a police department, I imagine the fact that your dh is already going shows a lot of initiative and motivation on his part and should help him get a job somewhere!!!

Fit, that is so rude when people act that way, I hate rude people!!! Like Michelle said, you've done awesome!!! Don't let her ruin your accomplishments!!

Little Grasshopper and Holyteror, wtg on the exercise!! I hate exercising, it's something I really have to push myself to do. I am doing good if I get in 3 or 4 times a week.

Lisa, I've been eating ice cream lately too, with the heat and all. I have to buy things like the WW's ice cream bars though because they are portion controlled for me, lol. I just grab one out of the freezer and they are only 1 or 2 points depending on what kind they are. I know if I had a carton I'd end up eating more of it at a time than I should.

And Karen, wtg on the 21 pounds!! Hang in there, we all go through those moments where we just are having a hard time sticking to it, but you can do it!! Satisfy your sweet tooth with things that you can have that aren't high in calories, maybe that will help.

Have a great day everyone!!!

707Goddess 07-26-2006 04:26 PM

Lauren~thanks and i hope he did too we'll have too see he got caught with a pretty bad case and is on the ankle braclet for 2 months its already been 1 month so im crossing my fingers and praying that after he's off the moniter that he flys right ecspecially since his step father is gonna be a cop.......LOL

Melody yes i do hope so too cause hes working full time and going to the academy at night (we paid everything $5000) to put him through it would be great

Holy WTG on the exercise its hard for me too the most i get done is walking alot of walking

everyone else im sorry i didnt say welcome and keep up the good work ladies

lppennington 07-26-2006 04:38 PM

Lauren, I am trying not to. My dad had 3 bowls last night! He has the fat free, sugar free, made with Splenda stuff (pretty good) but he gets upset if we (mom and I) have any. We eat the regular stuff. I made a new rule late last night, no more goodies in the house, it is not helping any of us. I do ask for fig newtons and those 100 calorie pack snacks for my lunch- but that is it.

707 don't worry about saying hello and something to each of us. It's hard enough to remember all of us in the first place and then to keep conversations going. Like I said, forget about it. (in accent)

Lisa

707Goddess 07-26-2006 04:47 PM

Blah...blah..blah...II

Good afternoon all!
Well THAT sucked @$$! Stupid computer just goes black....all of a sudden, No reason. I had written a long, fablous post and .....GONE.:tantrum: I save all my quality posting energy for you guys (as your my favorites:yes: ) and POOF!
Well...lemme see, where was I. Logan got his 4 months shots today, finally! Only 4 weeks late!! He cryed so hard. Looked at me like..."WHAT ARE you DOING to me!?!!?!" :sorry: I didn't cry though. He's conked out now (motrin). Then there was the Step kid subject. I have thoughts on it as I have been a step, had a step and now have a child that is a step. (we'll have a whole Stoop pretty soon!lol) The SD I had bout 6 years ago proved to be very annoying to me. Granted when I "got" her I was just 22 at the time. Her parents where much older than me and she took to me like a big sister. I mean REALLY took to me. DROVE ME NUTZO!! Still I would keep her summers and when she was sick. Didn't help she was unreasonably spoiled and her father never listened to a word I had to say. She's now grown and has made my point...didn't finish school, lives off Daddy, no college, Fights with him all the time....HA! He sooo deserves it! DH and DS#1 have a good relationship but I have to do alot of damage control. DH can be a lil Gung Ho regarding his opinions on disipline and at times I think he's ridgid and strict (easy to do when its not your kid but his intentions are always good) So I have last call on a discipline regarding DS#1.If I didn't I think DS could grow to hate him eventually, the emotional bond simply isn't strong enough. Thats my 2 cents.

Fit~ Ya know, in these situations I usually ask pointed/obvious questions like "No size larger than 10, huh? WHY?? The average female in the US is a 12, don't you think thats a lil stupid?" They usually have no/lame answer. But I feel better. If I where 5'9" and 176lbs I'd be runnin' around scantally clad screaming "LOOK AT MEEEEEEEE!!!" ( ok I'd have clothes on but I'd still scream!!):carrot:
Goddess~ Eww...ankle bracelets.. No Bueno, and not very stylish either..lol Hope DH gets what he needs soon!
Mel~ Glad to hear its just the Hag...Your losing so steady, I love to see your progress!
Karen~ I had to stop BF to stop GAINING weight. My Dr had the same issue w/ her DD. I had 6 cases of Matitis in 8 weeks due to one functional breast so I had to stop. Thats when the STARVING stopped. Kiss the baby!
Holy~ You so rock for being able to get modivated so early...I keep tryin' and failin'!
And a shout out to Lauren~grasshopper~RR~Lisa~Monster Mom!!!

lppennington 07-26-2006 07:25 PM

Stevie, I believe that the average size is now a 14. We have a store in our mall here that caters to plus size teens. Its all hoochy-mama clothes and (I know I am showing my age, and all) most of the time don't look good on the "plastic" girls, let alone the plus size. (Sorry Molly if you shop there) I don't even care for the Lane Bryant store, they have a lot of the same style of clothes. Of course, now that I am in a very professional office I have to dress the part. (Not that I would wear those clothes anyways) Okay, enough about that rant.

I hate that the professional clothes in the plus size all look like old lady clothes. I am sorry I don't want to wear Sag Harbor or Alfred Dunner. Do I look like a little old lady who when I drive cant see over the steering wheel? I can assure you that I do not!!! I hate that, they could make suits and seperates that are more hip and attractive in larger sizes. Not that I am extremely big - size 20 or 22 depending on the maker and cut. Sometimes I can even wear an 18. Okay now I am really stopping the rant on clothes.

707 - I meant an Irish accent.  My last name is McCartney and my mom's maiden name is McCann. No Italian in me, but I sure do like their foods.

Lisa

little grasshopper 07-26-2006 08:41 PM

wow, my head just spins when I come here to post!! It's great reading all that everyone has written, but please don't be offended if it takes me a bit to get names. My computer is SLOOOOOOWWWW right now so going back and forth would take forever. I'll work on it though!

I'll have to check into the TCBY pops :) Right now I'm having jello and cool whip. Not very fancy but it hits the spot.

707 - I hope you're making it through the 2 months okay. That has to be extremely stressful for the entire family.

I made it to the gym again today but I've been having an issue with my foot and it was all I could do to finish my workout. I did 55 minutes of cardio. I had to switch to bike halfway through. I'm getting to angry with this toe thing. It doesn't hurt any time except when I exercise! I'm going to make yet another appointment with a doc to see if they can figure out what's going on. It's been three years. I've been to podiatrists, chiropractors, acupunturists, massage therapists (all and I do mean ALLLLLLLL kinds of body work to see if anything would help it) I've taken vitamins, changed my diet, and started downing water. I've taken pain pills and stretched before, after, during and while it bed. I can't think of anything else to do! I've changed my shoes, swapped out my socks, changed my orthotics.......What am I missing???? I'm getting so angry about this! It's a silly TOE. It shouldn't have this much power.

Sorry - I ranted there and don't even feel better about it. The good news is that about 30 minutes after I quit exercising it stops hurting. I stand on my feet all day long to work and it never hurts. Barefoot even!! Okay, I'm done ranting now. Promise!! I'll come back when I'm not mad! Have a good night all!!

707Goddess 07-26-2006 08:56 PM

Little grass hopper ~~ no worries just chop that puppy off .......LOL "JUST KIDDING" i feel you though girl i have Always had bad knee's i mean always so i cant run on the tread mill or pavement thats why when they made the elipticall (i probably missed spelled that my spelling sucks ) i was sooooo excited so i feel your pain. I hope you find out what it is

Lisa ~~ ok ok you got me by your avitar i thought you were irish and your lppenn well you know it actually looked irish and for italian food (drooling on self) ohhh yeah lovin it

mamabear272 07-26-2006 09:11 PM

Karen, here's a :kickbutt: for you. Put down the sugary treats and eat some carrots. Or at least some fruits...they're sweet. That's great that you're down! Good for you! OH and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! :balloons:

Lisa, not sure what store you're talking about. I usually shop at Wal-Mart. lol

Grasshopper, sorry to hear about your toe! That stinks!

Anyway, I'm off for the night. TTFN

Holyteror 07-27-2006 01:22 AM

Evening all,
Just wanted to drop in and say hi....I'm sore and exhausted...I'll be getting up at 5 again to get another workout in.

I did real well on eating today...dinner was a whole wheat pita with a slice of mozzarella, 4 deli chicken sauces, and veggies. Oh yeah and one of those 100 call bags of chips.

gotta head to bed...gotta get up in the am!

lppennington 07-27-2006 07:01 AM

Molly, the store is called Torid. Actually most any store in the mall is catering to that look, except for the department stores. And even JC Penneys is heading in that direction. I mainly shop at Wal~Mart too, or used to, now its Marshall Fields or Dillards (on extremely good sale days, w/ coupons)

707, the first P in my screen name is for my middle name and pennington was my married name. And yea, that kinda looks like speghetti (sp?).

mamabear272 07-27-2006 09:36 AM

Lisa, ok I've seen the store but never shopped there. I don't shop at any of the mall stores for myself. Andrea likes..no LOVES Aeropostale but luckily she's really conservative in dress. She doesn't even like to say the word "boobs" much less expose them. LOL The Elder Beerman at Westgate had a sale not too long ago and they had REALLY good prices! Not sure if it's still going on or not, maybe check that out. I know it's on the other side of the city from you but I think it's the only EB left...sad huh? I HATE Dillards.

fitafter4 07-27-2006 09:53 AM

Mornin'!

It's going to be a GREAT day! :carrot: I just know it!! Took a "total conditioning" class at 5:30 this morning and feel completely energized...watch out world...:D I try to work out every morning (6 days a week), but the last couple weeks, I've been dragging and haven't been consistent. After my humbling shopping experience (ahem) I feel pumped up. [using it as a positive experience]

Here's my SHOUT OUT to everyone. My goodness--it IS hard to keep up with everyone!

Michelle - sorry about the DS...I'll add him in my prayers--that he'll "get it" and let me know about DH, too. I'm married to a former cop...it's in his blood. He got out due to some ethical issues he had with the chief (bad stuff) and now wishes he wouldn't have. Oh well...

Lisa - ice cream-----------YUM------------I'm the same way about NOT having goodies in the house. If they are there...I'll eat them. My kids hate it, but it works. And you're right--I think the average size in US is now a 14. I'm with ya on the hoochie mama clothes. Think it sends the WRONG message to today's "yoots" (can't remember the name of the movie off the top of my head, but you the one, right?). Thank goodness my daughter isn't into that kinda dress.

Stevi- ouch, mastitis! Had it several times. Bad stuff. Loved BF'ing all my kids, but that was a definite downside.

Grasshopper - sorry about the toe-thingy. Can't imagine.......

Holy--great job on the workouts and eating right. You rock! :spin:

That's it for now-----gotta get some work done.

You guys have a WONDERFUL day!
Fit

MelodyL 07-27-2006 11:57 AM

Michelle, sorry to hear about your son, I hope that he doesn't get into trouble again.

Stevi, I agree with you on stepchildren, my ex husband and I got into way too many arguments about my oldest son because my ex husband was too strict with him, he'd never had kids before and felt that my son should be a grown man when he was still a small child. He isn't strict like that with the other two that he's been around since birth at all. He tried to be a good Dad for my son, he just wasn't understanding most of the time with him. I think it's good that you and your dh have an agreement that final say on discipline goes to you. I heard a guy at work who is a stepdad who's stepchildren are grown now, but were younger when he got married, and he said that he learned that really what he needed to be to his stepsons was their friend more than their parent, that he supported his wife in decisions and discipline and was involved in that stuff, but that what he really worked on was being more their friend than a disciplinarian so that they weren't resentful. But sometimes children are just resentful to a stepparent because they are an easy target, pre-teens and teenagers tend to be resentful in general, heck my teenager gets mad at me all the time, I'm sure that the only reason he doesn't hate me ALL the time is because he's been around me his whole life, so he has all that time to remember that I'm not so bad, lol.

Lisa, I've found lots of cute clothes at Lane Bryant lately, not hoochie mama at all, believe me I don't wear those kinds of clothes at all. I am a nurse and we wear street clothes to work, not uniforms, since I work with the mentally ill, so I definately could not wear anything that was considered scantily clad. I don't buy many clothes at LB simply because they are too expensive, and no they don't have much in the way of business attire, but I did get several cute things there before I went to Disneyland in May and I have a pair of capri's that I'm waiting to fit into in my closet that I bought there, lol.

Grasshopper, so sorry about your toe, hope you are able to find something to make it feel better when you are exercising.

Fit wtg on the exercise in the morning, I wish I was that motivated to exercise!! I'm planning on doing my Biggest Loser workout video later today, hopefully I'll get it done, lol. I saw a commercial on tv last night for a new biggest loser show to start in the fall, with 50 contestants, one from each state. Should be fun to watch!

Have a great Thursday everyone!!

707Goddess 07-27-2006 12:47 PM

KarenK 07-27-2006 01:10 PM

Hello everyone,

I've been doing better with eating the past two days. Now, don't think I've been perfect, just better than I had been! I weighed in this morning and I am at 212. That puts me at either 18 or 20 lbs lost. I can't remember if I weighed 230 or 232 when I started over. That is since last Sept and I don't feel too bad about it since I was pregnant during that time.

Grasshopper: (hmmm, I feel like I'm the teacher on Kung Fu!) Sorry to hear about the toe. When your feet hurt, you hurt all over. I hope they can find something to help you. Is it any exercise that makes it hurt or just certain ones? Like the stepper/treadmill/eliptical.

Lisa: I've seen that store. I think it's beyond hoochie and into punk! It's definitely not my scene! LB is OK, I don't like a lot of their stuff. The Avenue has some OK stuff. And they sometimes have coupons in our Sunday paper. If you shop there and the coupons would help you out, PM me your address and I will send them to you.

Michelle: Yikes, hope your son learns his lesson from this. That must totally suck. If you use the Post Reply button when you post all you have to do is scroll down and you will see everyone's posts. No need to open two windows. I used to take notes before I figured that out!

Melody: I'm so not looking forward to the teen years! When Alex was about 6 months old I spent a whole afternoon crying because I knew he was going to hate me when he was 16!

Fit: Cool on exercising so early in the AM. I couldn't do it. I would hurt myself or someone else. I'm just not with it that early in the morning.

Hope everyone is having a great day!

KarenK 07-27-2006 01:22 PM

Hey all, I think each individual store buys for the clientle (sp?) that shops there. I have looked in The Avenue, but it is more casual. (That I don't need) Thanks for all the offers.

Molly, I shop EB too. I just forget about it, cause it's not at the mall. I was shopping there so much I got a credit card. Bad

Well back to work.

Lisa

mamabear272 07-27-2006 03:08 PM

Fit the movie is My Cousin Vinnie. I love that movie!! ROFL just thinking about it. "The two yoots." and then Herman Munster saying the two what??

Karen, OMG she is so stinking cute! And big brother Alex. He's gonna be over-protective when she gets older...

Lisa, have you tried the Dress Barn in Spring Meadows? I used to get work stuff there when I worked at the bank. And they're pretty inexpensive too. And Fashion Bug Plus is right in there too.

Stevi-rocks 07-27-2006 03:13 PM

Who needs zZZzzZzz anyway??

Goood Morning!!:)
Well its nearly noon but its morning to me! Lil man Logan was up til 1am and up again @4 and again @6 and yet again @9....he's still sleeping now. The fever didn't hit til late last night and is making him a bit silly:dizzy: . Not miserable but LOOPY..Its a lil cute in a weird way.:) He smiles and stares off....Shots gotta get em. I was going to go help out with the final recording of the back up vocals on our demo but I don't think I'll make it today, we can add me later if needed (Prolly will be.) So WOW a 14 now...my last looky at that stat had to be more than 10 years ago..but Geez! Doesn't that speak volumes about the American condition?? What in 40 years will the average size be a 22 :yikes: ? Provided we are advancing at a size per 10 year rate. Thats a lil scary if you ask me. I can't wear ANY of the jeans at places like Abercrombie etc...If the jeans have no stretch to them, no matter what my size, they will not fit these MONDO thighs o' mine. If I can get them to fit the legs than they have to be taylored to fit my waist. Not worth the $$ or trouble. Now Torrid over here that place is well..different. After I had DS#2 I went in there and bought a size 18 pair of jeans, only thing...I weighed 260:sumo: ! Talk about vanity sizing. I have a pair of 16 from there that are the biggest pants I own..I wore them 8 months PG and they are jeans!! LB isn't AS bad but bad enough..I weigh 222 right now and can wear there 14's. Every where else (Walmart, Target etc..) I have to get a 16 or 18. Hmmmm...? Lucy you have some 'plaining to do!!! lol
Mel~ Well DS#1 (14) doesn't hate me yet but I'm sure its justa matter of time!! Maybe...I DO have all the $$$!! HA!
Karen~ She is such a pretty girl! Lil crabby in the 1 st pic.. Your son is a cutie as well. You make pretty babies.:bb:
Goddess~ Aren't your children step to your husband? Just a different side of the same coin.
Lisa~ You must have a **** of a time shopping! If you don't like the young stuff and don't like the old stuff who caters to just the middle? I usually buy what I like (and that fits) from where ever. Maybe on-line? Sucks though, you can't try anything on!!
Molly~ you said ....BOOBS! :lol3:
Grasshopper~ ( I was thinking Kung Fu as well!!lol) I have had feet troubles forever. They are only recently bad enough to drive me to drink...short distance. lol
Where's Lauren this beautiful morning??
Hi ya Holy....Great job on food yest!!! Here's a carrot...:carrot:

Well I'm done..:blah: for now!

lppennington 07-27-2006 03:36 PM

Molly, the Dress Barn in Spring Meadows closed. The closest one to me is on RT. 20 in Perrysburg. ugh.

Stevie, it's not that I am picky, I just have to start dressing different. Remember I was a college student for the last 2 1/2 years. I got really used to the jeans and sweatshirt look (well not in this heat ). Now I am in a very professional office. I even feel like a country bumkin when I am in my suits. I wish I could go back to jeans. :sigh:

707Goddess 07-27-2006 04:43 PM

Stevi~~ you are right ...:frypan: how i forget sometimes just because he's been with the kids for so long and i am always in the middle of theyre fights i guess i just got so used to it....... But thinking now OH YEAH drama galore i forget at times,, ecspecially now that hes not home that much so i dont have to play referee everyday:coach: . forgive me ever since he went to the police academy all of our lives have changed, for the better i might add i mean besides the fact we all miss him soo, but heck yeah him always telling me "well YOU better tell those kids this or that " then the kids come back with well tell dad this or that it madding at times  i just wanna run and hide my head in the sand untill things smooth out!! i have told my husband earlier this year that i WANT him to take charge more he's been a great friend to my kids but we are all getting older and becomeing a stronger family unit:grouphug: i told him it's time to step up to the plate and become they're father he agreed and it's going well: sorry for the long post i just totally forgot

RoadRunner 07-27-2006 09:01 PM

Melody(and the other with step advice)--thanks for the advice..SD says she wishes I disciplined her and not went to her dad and told him to do it..I think she just misses her mom and since I know more of the "world" then DH does, I am the meanie when I say no.Last night, she and 5 other 14 y/o kids wanted to go to the bowling alley unsupervised from 9pm until 11 pm...I said no way and DH said that is fine..We end up arguing because he lets her do a little too much because he tries to "make it up to her that mom died". Since Hurricane Katrina, this is such a different place around here to live..I just worry about girls in a place that is not in a good area without grownups around...

Lisa--Glad the job is going well even if the clothes are not...

Stevi--the shots always got to me..I think we have a slew of them when she turns 4..:o :o :o

Karen--she is cute..I am thankful for the one I got but get alittle down when I think about not having anymore..I have a friend at work having fertility problems so I am more than thankful to have had 1 successful pg. Congrats on the weightloss!!

Off to go to bed...3:15 comes way early!!!:dizzy: :dizzy: :dizzy: Work is too busy since school is starting in less than 2 weeks, everyone want surgery!!!
Hello to all posters...
Monique--Still around????
RR

LBH 07-27-2006 09:26 PM

Man, I have to post more than once a day to keep up! I keep reading, but I don't always have time to post!

RR, SD1 told you she wishes you disiplined her?? But yet she hates you?? What's up with that??

Lisa, one of the reasons my recruiter was always soo frustrated with me is because I refuse to work in a professional dress office...has to be business casual, becuase I refuse to spend a couple hundred on one good suit, never mind 5!! I thought the office I'm at now was professional, but I took it anyway because it's a Big 4. Found out the first week that it's business casual, but not quite as BS as some companies...I can wear khakis though. I've done well at Avenue for work clothes.

Stevi, Here I am!! I haven't bought anything at LB in years...they got too expensive! Their jeans never used to fit me right, because they were made bigger through the hips, and my weight is in my middle, not my hips. Now I'm just too damn fat for anything....
Hope Logan's doing OK now! You haven't heard screaming at the Drs. until you've heard Robby!! I wish I had a tape recorder!!

Karen...I need to cuddle that sweet girl!! Alex looks soo proud of her!

Fit, good for you getting up at that ungodly hour to exercise! :cp:

Mel, I'm sure that 1.4 will be gone next week...and then some!

Man, I'm tired...DH fell asleep with the boys...now it's my turn! Night all!

Holyteror 07-27-2006 11:13 PM

Hey everyone,
got the exercise in.....working on a project and so I haven't had dinner yet, and hubby hasn't gotten home.

Eating has been ok today...stayed on track.....next big obstacle...the weekend!!

btw i'm still sore from yesterday's workout. I'm not sure but i might just get on the treadmill in the morning. I just need to prep for tonight.

Sorry I can't be much help in the STEP department. I wasn't crazy about my dad's shackjob.....her sister was my mom's best friend. By then I was already 16 and stuck being very responsible. I did what I could when I was there, and most of the time when I was there visiting at my dad's....I did my best to stay out of the way or just made myself useful. I was used to that....being in charge when Mom was at work....I had a younger sister and then surprise, Mom got pregnant. I have a brother who's old enough to be my own DS. The STEP (as she so often referred to herself) was for the most part polite i guess for my dad's sake. they were no good for each other. But she never tried to fight with me. She'd just try her best to embarass me. She was that way to everybody though.

ok, enough of my babbling....I'm going to fix myself some dinner. Hubby said he was on his way home from work. I'll be in bed early again to get some exercise in and try to mentally prep for work. Fridays for me are like Mondays for everyone else...

I_am_Bastet 07-28-2006 12:43 AM

hey, wasn't that a tv show?

30 Something, I remember that show. They all seemed so OLD to me then...and now, here I am... How the heck did that happen??

Anyway, I'm Bastet, 31 and half-way to my goal of losing 56 lbs. Motivated to lose for reasons of health, energy, and wanting to feel sexy again.

I'm approaching this with much the same mindset that I had when I quit smoking 4 years ago. I have been addicted to sloth and eating unhealthily, and I have to give it up in order to live. I can't go back, ever, to those old bad habits.

This doesn't mean that I can't enjoy eating, but I need to be in control of what goes in my body, and make better, more informed, choices.

Might seem a bit extreme to some, but it is what keeps me from slipping, the determination to gain control of this the way I did with my smoking habit of 13 years. And I'm gonna make it!! :)

RR sounds like your stepdaughter really loves you, like a lot of teenagers love their parents, lol, they love them but want their freedom and so they argue and say they want to be away from them. Like I said, someday she'll realize that you really cared about her when you said you didn't want her out doing things that were dangerous. I'm sure it's a lot harder since she lost her Mom. I would hate having to get up for work at 3:15am!! 5am is bad enough, lol.

Karen, she is beautiful, they are both cuties!!

Lauren, thanks for the encouragement, I sure hope it is!! I'm having hope, lol.

Holyteror I work weekends, so Friday's arent' as exciting for me as they are for everyone else either, lol. Hope your weekend goes well.

Bastet what a neat name! welcome to the boards! I loved that show 30 Something. Grats on the 28 pounds lost and being halfway to your goal!! I can't wait til I'm halfway to my goal, unfortunately halfway is going to be something like 74 pounds lost, how sad is that!? WTG for stopping smoking, my Mom and stepdad just stopped 4 months ago, she's smoked pretty much my whole life and since she was a teenager, I am so proud of her! I never thought I'd see her quit smoking!!

Bad Spit, Bad

Well, so far week number 2 hasn't been very good--I know I've gained back some of the 5 pounds lost last week because I've been eating like my old self and not as much exercise. I'll find out Saturday when I weigh in. But, not down yet, I'm going to kick it in again today. I'm also going to give myself some rewards. The old me spent between 15-20 dollars a week on junk food, grabbing a pop, candy bar, getting a personal pizza on the way home from work for dinner, etc. I don't spend a lot of money on myself anyway, but never thought twice about buying junk food because "it would make me feel better or I deserved it". But of course it just made me more fat. So what I'm going to do if have a reward jar--if I go through a day on my food plan and don't cheat, I put in a $2 card. If I go through a day on the food plan and meet my exercise goals, I put in a $ 3 card. (Nothing too great because I"m not made of money) :) At the end of the week or whenever I feel like I need to reward myself, then I add the cards up and get something that won't make me fat! LIke a new pair of earrings, perfume, lipstick, etc. And if I cheat or don't exercise, no cards. Maybe these little rewards will add an extra motivation. Can't hurt. Have a great Friday everyone!:carrot:

Good Morning All!!

Bastet, :welcome2: Congrats on reaching the 1/2 way point!! :cp: That's awesome! I remember that show, but I don't think I ever actually watched it...may have seen an episode or two.

Spit, Get back on track! Sounds like a good plan you've got!

Holy, Don't push yourself too much! Maybe you should just do the treadmill, let your body rest a bit today.

Have a great day all!

Holyteror 07-28-2006 09:11 AM

Morning all,
I got up and did cardio/weights this morning. I stayed on plan for dinner!! Gotta get lunch fixed up...I may just have a frozen dinner and salad today. I won't spend so much time fixing up a pita (i separate veggies/meat/cheese so it doesn't get soggy) and more time to enjoy it. we'll see how i feel in half an hour :)

I will try to workout again tomorrow and rest on sunday. I have no other plans with sunday, and I need to prep for next week. I'm working an extra hour every day during the week so i can leave early on friday....gotta meal plan and be ready for it :)

Good morning,
Why is it just when you open your big mouth about something the exact opposite happens?? My speaking of DS#1 not hating me....I spoke too soon. He hates me NOW!! He has been spending by FAR too much time with his new friends from summer school, yesterday I called him 3 times (maybe 4) and He didn't hear/feel it...sorry Mom. I took him to school @ 7am and did not see his smelly self til 8pm. I was gonna hurt him! So today I have band practice. I told him this morning I will be picking him up @ 4pm and bringing him home or he can come with me....school gets out @10am or so I was thinking...OK, 6 hours is plenty O time. He threw a fit...LITERALLY! Got out of my car...SLAMMED the door, telling me "thats gay....and this sucks!" I immediantly got out of the car and short of strangling him told him to be in "this EXACT spot at 10:10am or you will not see the light of day for weeks!" He tryed getting into the car to smoose and apologize but I drove off. Buttface!! Like I'm gonna just leave him ALONE with his "friends" while I'm in another COUNTY! Not to mention the total overkill as of late anyways. Argg! If he's not there @ 10am all **** will break loose....lemme tell ya. On a happy note Logan is feeling better. Still sleeping funny. OH and I lost 2 LBS! Yippee!! Might even be 3 but you can't trust my scale to I took the highest average of 5 weighs. I will be in the teens for sure next week! I'm excited!! Sorry for the vent...I just happened. Have a great day!

LBH 07-28-2006 12:02 PM

:lol3: Sorry Stevi....sounds exactly like something I would do! Hope he's there...for his sake!

Hi,
I'm a newbie. Went to the doc's yesterday and weighed in at 228! Wow what a shock! Where did those pounds come from? Still recovering from a couple herniated disc's and a pinched nerve in my neck. My activity has been very limited. I started the stationary bike and treadmill yesterday at the gym at work, but unfortunately the gym isn't opened on the weekend until Sept.
I'm trying to eliminate the sugar, wheat and flour from my diet and it's really a challenge. I would love to hear from some of you to help give me a jump start. I'm happy to be a part of this group.

707Goddess 07-28-2006 01:00 PM

Stevi~~ Boy i am soooo right there with you i have 3 teenagers and each one loves to test me just to see how far they can go ...LOL well i hope he is there

LBH~~ how are you doing

Holly WTG keep it up :carrot:

Monkey and Baset :welcome2:

Melody i also tried 3 times to quit smoking but started back up it is one of my goals this year is to quit again and stay off the ciggs i figure when i lose 25 lbs thats when i quit that way its only a 5 lb gain (average) so i'd still be down 20

anyways I had an ok evening i made wise choices i went to kfc to get my husband his dinner and i soooo wanted some but i didnt i was very proud i took his home and i made me and the kids a healthy dinner . Im supposed to weigh in today and i really wanted to but its the tail end of my TOM so i didnt im gonna wait on that, i hope all is well with everyone ..i dont have the internet at home so i'll check in when ever i can ( my friend has the net) this weekend

LBH 07-28-2006 01:51 PM

Stress

It's a good thing I'm learning not to be an emotional eater... I work as a receptionist in the medical insurance industry, and I just got chewed up and spit out by some guy because his rep doesn't like to answer her phone... Oy!!!

Anyway... just had to vent. Still coming down from the adrenaline rush... Maybe I burned off a few calories?? :^:

Did a great workout last night. Tonight will be running and toning. Weigh in is Sunday, can't wait to see the results of another awesome week!

I don't have much internet over the weekend, y'all have a great one!

MelodyL 07-28-2006 03:56 PM

Stevi, sounds exactly like an interchange between my son and I on certain days, lol. Teenagers are tough...both for themselves (I hated being a teenager) and for their parents (being the parent of a teen is even harder than being a teen if you ask me, but maybe it's just cause I'm getting old now, rofl). I've chased Jordan down a few times and told him to get his behind in the car right then!! He was always oh so happy with it, NOT. ;) And WTG on the weight loss!!! That is awesome!! I'll be sooo happy when I am that close to the teens. ;)

Welcome to the board Monkeychops.

Hi to everyone else!! Hope everyone has a great weekend!! It's my short weekend at work, so maybe I'll go do something fun.

Stevi-rocks 07-28-2006 04:19 PM

Update...
Well he's still alive...For NOW. He was there and is now sitting, sulking in his room. Good stay there. Sometimes I feel so bad for him. I can feel/see the conflict between becoming a man and still being a child. I remember all too well, (he doesn't believe this) I hated it too....very, very much.

Mel~ You are rockin the losses! I started about where you are now and it seemed to just fall off...it was when I got to the 220's it all fell apart. I think I'm past that though. I calculated that I have lost 9 lbs in 38 days..Doesn't sound so great til you do the math...1.8lbs a week, what have I been complaining about again??:)
Welcome Monkey and Bastet...The more the marrier!! I just quit a really stressful job. My #1 job responsibility was to handle and execute solutions for customer complaints.....Hated it! Gained 25-30 lbs in 8-10 months there after my promotion...geuss I'm that emotional eater type. That and the 60+ hours a week.....No Bueno.

707Goddess 07-28-2006 06:01 PM

Lauren~~ thank you
