  • Hi All! Happy Mother's Day to all the Mom's!

Hope everyone's having a great weekend. We had a great day yesterday, it was gorgeous here, even though last I heard was rain through Tuesday. The boys had a great time playing outside. I have some pics to post, but I've got to get them on Photobucket first...
  • Robby getting really into the watermelon! (I don't know why it's not smaller, it looks smaller like the others on Photobucket)

    Peter...the ham!

It was only like 70°, give or take a little, but they thought it was 90°!
  • Hello everyone!

We have had a really busy weekend. We took Alex to the zoo yesterday and he had SO much fun. He rode the train twice and got to ride a pony. And he ran all over the place, up and down the hills! I wish I had his energy. We went to the mall afterwards and he rode the train again and the carousel (sp?). We were so tired we had family movie night when we got home. We all pile into mom and dads bed and the boys munch popcorn while we watch a movie (smelling popcorn and not being able to have it is VERY hard). Today we just did a bunch of little things we've been meaning to do, but it was my choice and it was fun!

I have to weigh in the morning, but I'm pretty sure I'm packing on the wt. I only gained 3 pounds with Alex and I had only put on about the same with this one. This diet they have me on with so much eating and eating so late is really doing a number on me. I can see my stomach getting bigger every day. I actually look pregnant this time. I love my baby and I want her to be as healthy as she can be, but I was very depressed about the wt gain today. Oh well, only 5 weeks to go.

Lauren: The boys are adorable! They look like they were having a blast. Alex played outside for a little while today, but it was COLD out there.
  • Happy Mothers Day to all!

Lauren, the boys look soo cute.

Karen, hang in there it isn't much longer now.

    Lisa

  • I have no idea if I did this right!?!?
  • Well...sorta. I geuss. Not what I was trying to achieve. I wanted the pics in the text.....hmmmm...Well those are my boys at any rate. BTW Karen** You only gained three pounds with 2 pregnancys? WOW!
  • Stevi, I fixed your links for you...just had to be "img", instead of "url". Your boys are gorgeous!! Thanks for sharing! #1 sure looks like a heartbreaker!

Hang in there Karen, it's almost over and life will be normal/crazy again! Just think of all the good breastfeeding will do!! What zoo did you go to? Sounds like he had a great time!

I maintained this week...which is cool with me, because I was sure I would gain a few after yesterday's feast at my Aunt's...and the freakin' brownies I ate! (Hey, I made them with applesauce and egg beaters, instead of eggs and oil! Like that helped!!)

    Have a great day all!
  • Good morning everyone.

Celebrate with me! I had negative ketones this morning for the first time! I couldn't believe my eyes. I just don't know what I did to make it happen. I changed my snack and forgot the insulin until almost midnight! I talked to the nurse today and we are going to try the same routine tonight. A bowl of cereal is so much easier to eat at night than a sandwich that I am happy about that!

I've also gained 3 pounds. That makes 6 for this pregnancy, but if it continues at the rate (I've got 5 weeks left) then I'm going to pack on 20 pounds here at the end! I'm not happy about that.

Stevi: Beautiful boys! I was 22 when my youngest brother was born! I used to tease my mom about having my kid for me.

Lauren: Yeah on the maintain. At least you made your brownies as healthily as you could! We went to Turtle Back Zoo. It's small, but nice. You can do the whole thing in a couple of hours.
  • Karen, Peter has a class trip there next month. I don't like it, I think the poor animals have pathetic living quarters...unless they've fixed it up in the last couple years. DH went with him on last year's trip. Not sure if he's going this year too, since he's 3 we don't have to go with him, but DH might go again.
  • Hello ladies! I'm a newbie on this 30 something thread.I'm currently a jenny craig client~on my 3rd week & down 5 pounds. 20 overall.I'm in my best friend's wedding this Friday & trying to look hot! I like the Walk Away the Pounds & Turbo Jam for my workouts. I just thought I'd pop in & introduce myself a bit.
  • Angie!
  • Thanks!
  • Angi-I'll be a newbie with you. I have a ton of the WATP tapes but what's Turbo Jam like? That one sounds like a blast.

So I introduced myself on a different thread and Lauren said to come here. Anyhow, my name is Chris. I'm a 35 yr old sahm of 3 daughters (12, 7 and 3). I go to school fulltime too so I'm enjoying my time off this summer and working a little harder on me. I've lost 24 lbs in the last 2 yrs. It's been too slow for me and I keep losing and regaining the same 5 lbs. We have kind of a love/hate relationship going on I guess. I have done WW and South Beach...and am currently under the care of a doctor's weight loss program (with even less success than before). The only thing I've gotten out of it so far is tips on eating and what to eat and when. My body is rebelling against everything I'm doing to try to get to a healthy weight. I've been working out at a local gym with my sister but with all the before summer deadlines creeping up on me for everything, I haven't been able to go as often as I like. That's me in a nutshell (yes, I'm a nut ).

    Chris
  • Karen great on the ketones!! And don't be too upset about the gain...20 lbs isn't a bad gain for a pregnancy at all!

Lauren, good job on the maintenance. It's definately better than a gain!

Angie! Great job so far. Keep on truckin'!

My goal this week is to drink at least 4 24 oz bottles of water. So far for the past 3 days I've been good about it. Although the time I spend in the potty is riduculous!

Lisa...you still here? LOL Or are you still celebrating?

    Make it a great day!
  • I think Lisa threw her computer out the window!

Molly, your body will get used to the increased amount of water you're drinking and you won't be peeing soo much soon! Right now I'm drinking 4-5 .5 liter bottles a day while at work, plus a few 20 oz. glasses at home and I'm not floating away yet!

Chris, You've done a great job soo far! Have you tried adjusting the amount of calories you're taking in? I dunno, maybe try a few less? How about exercise? What kind are you doing? I can't even imagine how hard it must be to go to school f/t, plus raise 3 girls!! Well, actually, I guess it's not that much different than working f/t, except that you have homework/projects on top of it all, huh? Maybe you can just get lots of exercise while enjoying playing with the girls?
