~~Week of May 7 - 13~~

Hello all! I hope your weekend is going well. I have everything done, I think. This is exam week so. . . . my last class is Thursday and in 13 days I will have a double BA. This is a freaking time for me.

It feels good to have that paper done :carrot: :carrot: I can finally get excited.

Hi All

Lisa, I can't believe this is it!!!

Has not been a good weekend food wise. Had a luncheon to go to yesterday, and while I made pretty good choices, aside from the icecream cake, I think it was probably high points. Then last night I got into Peter's chocolate bunny...I was PO'd at something. :( Today's not looking good soo far...breakfast was OK, but I had Chef Boyardee for lunch, with a corn muffin and dinner roll. :o I'm already at 26 pts. today and I only get 4 more! I ran out of Flex points 1/2 way through the week... Still thinking I've got a loss though. :crossed:

Hello Everyone!

Whew, been a busy weekend around here. Late Friday afternoon Alex was in the floor playing with his cars and he told me he broke something off his car and stuck it in his ear. Oh my. The ped. was already closed so we had to go to the ER to get it checked out. Luckily there was nothing there, but they had to clean out the wax to make sure. He did not appreciate it AT ALL. I was nearly deafened from the screams. Yesterday we had a garage sale and then shopped for night stands so we could rearrange our room to get ready for the baby. Today we built the night stands, cleaned and rearranged the room. I'm exhausted!

I have been following the eating plan as much as I can (being out a snack got skipped, and getting in enough carbs at dinner has been trying) and my ketones are still in the bad range. I honestly don't know what to do here. I guess I am going to end up giving myself insulin injections. I am sick about it. I get nauseous even thinking about it. Ugh.

I hope everyone has had an awesome weekend!

lppennington 05-07-2006 09:15 PM

karen, sounds like you had a busy, yet productive weekend. Poor Alex, I sort of remember what it was like getting my ears cleaned out as a young girl. Poor you for having to endure that and all the emotions.

I have another paper almost done and then all I have to do is bone up for three presentations. I am glad that I dont have to defend any of them like for a masters or doctorate programs.

Everyone have a good week.

mamabear272 05-08-2006 10:48 AM

Awesome Lauren!! :cheer:

Lisa, just a little longer then you have to get ready for "the real world." woo Hoo!

I did good this last week. I recovered from my AF week and am already down again. I weighed in on Sat and I am already down 4 lbs from then. Amazing what happens when she leaves. LOL

lppennington 05-08-2006 09:25 PM

Congrats to Lauren and Molly! Way to Go!

Lisa

LBH 05-09-2006 10:11 AM

Okay alll here is one of my last updates about school! I have one more class tommorrow night, and it is a presentation instead of a test. I have had three classes so far this week and two of them have been presentations. The one yesterday, I got a 49/50. I am stoked about that. 10 Days until graduation. I can hardly wait. Now I just have to find a job! (I am taking a vacation though)

Alright time to get back to work. Talk at ya'll later.

Hello everyone!

Monday, June 19th at 9:30 am Miss Cassandra Jane will be making her official debut into the world! The only problem with the whole thing--my grandmother is coming to help with Alex and she'll be going home that Friday! I made the reservations according to what the doc told me earlier. Oh well, at least she'll be here!

Lisa: Whooooohoooo! I can't believe you are so close to being done! You must feel totally stoked. And way to go on the presentation!

LBH 05-10-2006 04:50 PM

Karen, can she change her reservation? I assume she's in TX?

Stevi-rocks 05-11-2006 01:57 AM

Phew!!! This was not easy to find! Maybe its just me.... I am new. Just wanted to say hidy ho.

mamabear272 05-11-2006 08:20 AM

:welcome2: Stevi! Glad you found us!

Karen, wow! Almost time! At leat you have grandma for a week. That will help you get settled. Is dh taking time off too?

Lisa, I thought about you this am. I was taking dd to school and there was some contest on the radio and the girl playing was a Lourdes student and was saying that her last exam was today. She's not graduating though! I thought about you though and wondered how you were doing. Sounds like you're doing great! And you deserve a vacation with the way you've been working your butt off! WOO HOOO! :cheer:

Not doing bad this week. I have been MUCH better about my veggies and water. I had a gain last time again so I rally have to kick myself in the butt :kickbutt: and get on track. I can't keep going up and down the same 2 lbs. My problem is I do good and then think "ok I can slack a little." I can't! Gotta keep that in mind!

Make it a great day everyone!

lppennington 05-11-2006 10:10 AM

Molly, today is my last class ever! - at least at the Bacholor level and it's not a test its a presentation.

Well wouldn't you know as soon as the stress levels dropped, I got a vistitor. I hope and pray that it doesn't stick around til graduation.

:welcome3: Stevie, we are glad that you found us. Just come on in and join in the fun.

Lisa

Stevi-rocks 05-11-2006 02:53 PM

Thanks for such a warm welcome Ladies! (((hugs!)))

KarenK 05-12-2006 09:05 AM

Good morning everyone!

Well, this is something I never thought I'd say on a diet board...I'm eating so frigging much I'm about to pop. 6 times a day they want me to eat AND to eat a certain amount of carbs/protein/fat/veggies at each meal. Blah. They want me to GAIN wt. And they won't let me have chocolate to do it! So not fair!

Lisa: Whoohooo! School is over! Yay! I hope you are getting some rest and getting ready for graduation.

Stevi: Welcome to 3FC!

Lauren: Yep, she's coming from TX. I tried to change her ticket and they want $100! Yikes. I decided to keep it the way it is. She will be here before hand when I have to do the non-stress tests and more frequent appointments. That will be a huge help to me. She can go with us and keep Alex in the waiting room.

Molly: Yep, DH is taking time off too. I may have him take off less while I'm actually in the hospital this time so he can be with me when I go home. The nurses will take care of me in there, and I'll be alone at home. And, hey, NO SLACKING!! Get off those two pounds! (How was that?)

mamabear272 05-12-2006 01:12 PM

 Thanks Karen! I needed that. No Slacking!! I've been good the last couple of days. I just have to remember when I go wi that that's not a license to go crazy for a week! Good idea about having dh home after you come home! That's when you're going to need him there. As long as grandma is there with Alex when you're in the hosp and dh is there when you get home you should be good.

Lisa! :woo: You're done. And if I remember correctly, this is your sleep in day! Are you still sleeping? LOL Ahh you deserve it. HOpe you're having a great day you college graduate!! ')

nicolbw 05-12-2006 01:25 PM

Hi everyone! I just turned 30 last February and am now willing to admit it.

I need a group to join that I can talk to. My hubby's in the Army, so I don't know many people here.

I have been in a plateau for over 9 weeks now and need the motivation to not slack off.

I'm a stay-at-home mom of 2 little boys (4 years and 1 year olds). Other than that I'm pretty boring.

Do you think wearing my heart rate monitor all day to find out how many calories I actually burn is a good idea? Do you think it would be fairly accurate or way off?

Stevi-rocks 05-12-2006 02:00 PM

Good morning Ladies! Thank you soo much for the warm welcomes. I started posting on a Baby center site helping Mom's lose weight, but it was kinda limited on its members. There are soooo many here. I have to admit I get a little lost at times. :D My recent weight loss journey started just 2 1/2 weeks ago. I have two boys 14 years and 11 weeks...( yeah I know, Just when you think your done having babies!) I am currently still on maternity leave, I'm not due back until July 1st. I will return to work but only weekends. ( I just resigned as a manager yest! :D ) My biggest modivators are I sing lead in a rock band and want to be as confident as before up there. And I want my energy back! I was a certifiable SPAZ before my angel....now I'm just mellow....toooo mellow. I could sit and play with my baby all day. We are working on it. I started a work out regimin couple of days ago...( My feet HURT!) So we will see how it goes.

Welcome Brandi! It doesn't hurt to try the monitor. You never know what will work best for you.

mamabear272 05-12-2006 04:29 PM

:welcome2: Brandi!! Not sure on the moniter...sorry.

Stevi, I am with you on the big age gap in babies. My kids are 14, 13 and 19 mos. Maybe you could go out with the baby and go for walks. That's what I did with my little man. When it's cold (I'm in OH) we go to the mall and now that it's getting nice we walk the neighborhood or go to the park.

LBH 05-12-2006 05:35 PM

Hi Stevi & Brandi, glad to see you made it over here!

Stevi, the girl I work with has 3 girls: 22, 12, almost 2!! I think she's insane! Enjoy every minute with your sweet baby! Sometimes I wish I could be home F/T with my boys...then I remember how unorganized I am as a SAHM! :lol3:

Brandi, not sure about the heart rate monitor, I've never used one. What kind of exercise have you been doing, if any? Maybe if you just change somethings about your normal routine, or step it up a notch, you'll get off the plateau?

Lisa...are you awake? Did ya' sleep in today?? Are you busy surfing monster.com?!

nicolbw 05-12-2006 05:50 PM

Lauren - I've tried many different things so far and nothing is working yet. Even my nutritionist doesn't know why I'm not losing. Her answer is that it just happens sometimes.

The rest of the month I am going to do calorie cycling. I took the WW Wendie Plan and changed it to calories each day. So hopefully that will help. I am going to do at least 30 mins of exercise each day or more on some days. I am also going to go back to measuring all my food. Yuck. I hate this part, but I think it will help.

I'm doing the heart rate monitor thing to see what it says as to how many calories I actually burn each day. The way it's been going I will burn 2200 calories with no exercise in the 16 hours I'm awake. So maybe I'm not eating enough.

lppennington 05-13-2006 09:44 AM

Hello all! I didn't get to sleep in yesterday, however I did get to shop!!! Mom and I walked the mall and had a very fun time. It was weird not worrying about class homework. Actually on Monday and Tuesday I have to call in for jury duty.

Lauren, I have actually been looking on carreerbuilders.com, I think its better.
