aj, I am not quite awake yet but my intiials would be ellepeaemm. - LPM. When I was married it was ellepeapea -LPP, which is where my screen name comes in. I was not divorced when I joined the site.

Oh my it is too early to be typing. Who is it that has to be to work at 4 in the morning. I give you credit I could not do it.

Back to bed or at least to get caffine.

Tina ~ welcome aboard !!

Time for dinner here... have a good evening and TTYS.

TeaElleBee,

I know how you feel about WW. I have the type of personality that if I have too much freedom I tend to take it that much farther. I think I have tried WW about five or six times over the years, and every time I do really well for a little while, but then I think hey, a bag of chips can fit into my points so why not? :T Or how about those small chocolate bars, they are only a few points each... ;) I think the program is great, but I also think it works for specific personality types. I have found that success for me happens when I am restricted. The trick is not too over indulge once you are on maintenance (aye, there's the rub). You have to find a program that fits to you, not try to adapt yourself to fit the program. :soap: Now that I am off my soapbox, do not be hard on yourself. We all struggle, that is what is so great about this website....

Good Morning

Good Morning all - just a quick hello before I headout to feed the animals.

LPM - not sure where the 4 am came from - is that when you go to work? I get up at 6 and do the coffee thing, then the animals thing, then breakfast and then start work at 8 - 3. Spoiled work at home - no commute. :D

TLB - I here you too on the restriction thing - I basically follow the zone - similar to SB but less restricted food wise - more restricted portion wise at least balanced porportions of fat, carb and prot. I strive for the good carb and good fat as you get to eat more for the same calories and I monitor calories and just for fun I monitor sat fat, chol, sodium, fiber, sugar and the A C Cal Iron. :dizzy:

Although lately - since I eat the same thing all the time, I just eat - keeping the meals to 4 per day at 4 hr intervals, 8, 12, 4, 8. I need to get back to monitor the calories and the balance to make sure I am not undoing my work so far. But since I lost inches - I feel better about it. :D

Good morning eveyone .... Hope y'all are having a great day so far ....

lppennington 07-26-2005 10:59 AM

pj, I think it's Karen that has to be to work at 4am. When I wrote my entry this morning I had just woke up and I am not real cohearant (sp?) until several hours later.

On a good note, I finished all my homework even the paper that's due Sat. Yeah! I am so excited. Now Thursday can't come soon enough - I just have to take my exams. I know, patience.

I have actually not been doing anything with my "diet". My school schedule this summer has been so crazy. I haven't updated my ticker, but have actually gained weight. Now that I am out (for all purposes) I need to crack down on myself again. This heat has been getting to me too. Need to cool off so lets have ice cream for dinner. No more of that! Maybe the salad thing. I don't count calaries, but I do have that one book and so maybe that might work. I even have a journal that I can use, make a spreadsheet the computer when it is all used up. I also need to cut back on the soda pop. I drink Diet Coke, but I read that it is really bad for you. (That's sooo sucky)

Well anyways I need to get ready for class. Only 3 more days, and counting.

Baby Steps

LP - if you have gained - maybe you are retaining water because of the heat? How much salt do you take in? Do you add it or eat a lot of pkg food? Are you getting enough water? :?:

For the calorie counting - I have an elaborate spreadsheet that i used to create balance recipes that were easy and based on a few simple ingredients, then I pick 4 a day and eat the same things over and over so then I dont have to think. :dizzy:

With all the stress of classes - you are probably holding a lot in and need to go relax - let go so to speak. :p

But then no ice cream for dinner - I like chef salads with light ranch. I boil up eggs (we have chickens so the eggs are free if you dont count the cost of feed) I toss the yolks. I buy pre shredded cheese 2% and pre cubed Turkey 95% FF. I also like Tuna salads - very high in prot and with my diet I can add a piece of multigrain toast. I use no cal butter spray - garlic pwder and lemon pepper. :D

Like you said you just have find what works - good luck!

Lisa - wishing you the best of luck on your exams !!!

Good morning all

Well I'm happy to report that after my first weigh in, I've lost 2 lbs. It's not much but it's a start. Now I just have to keep the scale moving down.

ajandpj99 07-26-2005 12:24 PM

Congrats!

Way to go Cowgirl - every little bit helps!! :bravo:

Dianna, congratulations! And don't sell yourself short - 2 pounds is a LOT. Put 2 pounds of butter on a plate and you won't have any question of how big an accomplishment losing two pounds is.

Anyway, good for you. You are off to a great start.

LBH 07-26-2005 01:09 PM

Ack...how dare my real job get in the way of my modding job!!

Just a quickie, before his highness needs me again. Our pool is driving me absolutely nuts. I can't get it cleared up, no matter how much shock stuff I put in. We are supposed to have a pool day here on Thursday. :dizzy: :dizzy: :dizzy:

We had an almost completely veggie dinner tonight! Do you know how rare that is in my house? My DH hates veggies, so we rarely have an all veg meal. Tonight we had fresh corn, broccoli, hummus and pita bread. I know the pita isn't exactly healthy, but hey, I'll take what I can get.

Hope y'all are having a great evening!

LBH 07-27-2005 08:00 AM

Karen, that sounds pretty darn healthy to me! We did good last night too, chicken on the GF grill, california mix and mashies.

KarenK 07-27-2005 08:35 AM

Pssst, I was STARVING at 1 AM! Now, I was good and didn't go ramble in the kitchen wich is what I wanted to do. I kept my behind in the bed. I think we need more veggie days here. If only I could get the man to like veggies. Usually, if we have a chicken ceasar salad, that's considered a veg meal!
