Happy Monday! - All in our places, with bright shiny faces?

Good day everyone!

I just realized the other day that when I come to this screne to write a post - that the entire board in summarized if I scroll down. I always wondered how every one was so good at detailed replys - I thought you all were taking notes - duh.

Anyhow - I don't have kids so I wont try to advise RR - the only trouble I have is 3 little dogs that wake up before my alarm and want my attention before I am wake. They usually let me know by standing on my chest, scratching at my arm or just staring at me and whining in a really low distant moan kinda way.

Hope everyone is keeping cool. It was hot here last week, only 80 here yesterday. Nice part about living in the country - at least where I live - it cools down at night. I open the place up and get it down to about 60 in here by the morning. Then if its gonna be hot :flame:- I can keep it cool.

Have a great day everyone!:goodvibes

 PJ!! I have THE WORST memory of anyone I've ever met! And BTW, I'm in my place, but I can't say I'm wearing a sunshiney face! I'm only on my 3rd cup of coffee!

Mom_of_3_Monsters 07-25-2005 10:28 AM

Its Monday, I have a house full of kids and I am still trying to get into the swing of things for the day, for whatever reason it has been a slow start for me this morning :coffee:

RR - 2 of my 3 had night terrors, it is very common for that age group ... and there is really nothing that you can do for them except let them know that you are there for them .... Maybe you can call your ped to get some advice ... Good Luck !!!

Good Morning Everyone! I always find Monday's tough. I do not have my weigh in until Thursday, which is good, as I always struggle over the weekend. Oh well, five more days until the long weekend, and then holidays at the end of August! :woo: Gorgeous here, about 34 degrees celcius, hot and steamy! :sunny:

Mom_of_3_Monsters 07-25-2005 11:12 AM

I don't even want to go outside today ... It has been over 100 all weekend and now again today ... IT IS HOT !!

LabLover - Good Luck at your WI on Thursday !!! :crossed:

Yesterday we took the kids to the pool - 100 degrees - talk about sweating! I got home, took a shower and hopped on the scale before I got dressed - I was 147. Now, I know that it was that low (my "official" weigh in was 148.6) because I was somewhat dehydrated. Still it was very motivating to get a sneak preview of what it will feel like seeing it for real in the near future :crossed: .

Tiffany, I can feel your pain regarding your electicity bill. Here in Mississippi there isn't much that can be done to lower it. We have new units that were put in last summer and we've replaced all of our upstairs windows. The units obviously made a huge difference (this time last year it was $400, this month was only $200) but we are hoping to see a small difference as a result of the new windows next month.

Anyway, I've resigned myself to the idea that we'll have big electric bills during the summer and try to cut my budget in areas that I have a little more control over - groceries, water, etc.

Also, have you talked to your electric company? They often have programs where they will average the last 12 months of your service and that becomes your monthly bill. It doesn't necessarily save you money (if you were to cancel your service it would be trued up or down) but it does make budgeting a little easier since you know what to expect each month. Often, too, they offer programs that allow you to choose your due date. That could also make budgeting less painful if, for instance, you happen to be paying your mortgage and electric bill in the same period.

I am recovering dining chairs today. I've finished the ones in our dining room and have three more to go for our kitchen table. I bought myself an electric stapler and, I have to say, I feel like superwoman with it. I'm already trying to think of something else to do with it! Man, I would be dangerous with a drill. ;)

As a matter of fact, I've been quite the little fixer this week - I've recaulked a bathtub, made new curtains for our dining room (recycled an old sheer and some scrap velvet material and just spent $3.00 on tassels), made a floral centerpiece for the table, and now these chairs. Think they'll give me my own HGTV show?

Congratulations to all of the losers this week. Have a great day!

KarenK 07-25-2005 03:19 PM

Good Afternoon!!

Hope y'all are having a great day. We are having an OK day here. We had to go to a MOMS meeting this morning and were supposed to swim afterwards. Well, we had some horrendous storms (Lauren, did you get any?) and it was so overcast when it was time to go, I didn't think we'd be swimming, so I didn't take my suit. OMG, did I have one unhappy little boy when I couldn't take him in the pool! Yikes, I think I'll leave a suit in the car from now on! I felt so bad.

RR: We don't have anything like that, but we do have the occasional night where he wakes up and is inconsolable 'til he gets in my bed. As long as it's only every now and then I'm OK with it. I couldn't do it on a constant basis anymore. He takes up WAY too much room. And he kicks. And kicks. And kicks!

AJ: I was going to mention the scrolling the other day, but then I didn't. I know how happy I was when I realized it was there! There's no way I could remember all this stuff!

Mom3: Good luck with all those kids! I'd need more than coffee to get me going.

OK, gotta go. Got a freecycler coming to get some stuff today. I have to get ready for her!

WELCOME! Tina Marie! Cool on the loss! That's awesome.

Mid Day Monday

Welcome Tina and congrats on your progress! :bravo:

Jaws - well arent you the busy bee - my hubby would kill to have a wife that actual accomplished her projects. I like to start them then store them. Then start something new. Nowadays I just get ideas and then look at my mess :yikes: and decide its not worth it. :comp: I'd rather be online with you guys. :gossip:

Anyway hope all you folks in the heat are drinking lots and lots and lots of water and relaxing - :beach:

Catch you all later.

:snail:

PJ, thanks for the PSA! (RE: Drinking!) It's soo true though.

Karen, Yup, we got a little thunder storm this AM, was thundering before we left the house. THankfully the rain let up before we got to daycare though. I dont' know what we got overnight, if anything. I was too busy trying to catch some ZZZ's inbetween flipping over an unhappy baby who has suddenly decided that rolling onto his tummy is the neatest thing since sliced bread!

TinaM, Welcome! Congrats on the loss soo far!

Jaws, maybe it was the heat! Oh well, I sure hope the scale still shows the same at your next WI! Aren't you Miss Susie Homemaker?! :lol3: Wish I could do stuff like that!

 Everyone

Ok - I can usually guess on the acronyms but you stumped me :?: - what does PSA stand for?

Oh wait - is it Public Service Announcement? I should be on Jeapardy! if I am right that is. :D

lppennington 07-25-2005 06:39 PM

Jawsmom, I am just like you. I even have a ladies tool kit. It has all the tools only they are a little smaller to fit female hands. I would love my own show on HGTV too. I watched Candice Olson's behind the scenes show, she has like 20 -25 assistants. And it takes like 6 - 7 weeks to do all of that. OMG. Anyways I am envious of the electric stapler.

Tina, Welcome to our group and congrats on the loss so far. I noticed that you are from Kentwood MI. Where is that. I live in Toledo, OH (which I consider a suburb of Detroit - lol)

ChocoLover - What holiday is it? Here in the States we don't have a holiday coming up.

Hello to everyone else. Time to work on my paper. I will be soooo glad when this week is done and over with!!

RoadRunner 07-25-2005 08:53 PM

Good Evening !! Another warm one on the coast today, although it sounds like it is a lot hotter where most of you are.

Had my WI today and it appears that my weight loss efforts are tanking !! I have been following WW points, but it would appear that we aren't getting along very well. I think I may need something that it is a bit more structured, so may check out the other boards here to see what i can find out.

Tina ~ welcome aboard !!

Time for dinner here... have a good evening and TTYS.
