  • hi all. I couldn't wait to get on here today and report my success!! I have been oh so good for 3 weeks now and it finally paid off. I lost 2.6 last night and am finally back in the 160's. I'm thrilled. Only 10.6 to go to my ww goal. WooHoo!

I have a challenging weekend coming up - it is dh's birthday and we have out of town guest - I will have to stay strong. Normally my policy is not to have anything I can't handle around. Will try to work with that.

Lauren - it just all sounded like too much trouble!

Jennelle - good luck at your weigh in.

Karen - I heard that was a great movie.

Have a great weekend all. Tomorrow I'm walking in the race for the cure. I've always wanted to do that. Will try to update mileage this weekend sometime, if possible.

  • Have a great weekend everyone!!!
    Hello everyone,

It's been a while since I've been here. I haven't been doing well on the diet front. I think it's because I haven't been planning my dinners and when I don't do that I end up eating stuff I shouldn't when I get home. So far this week (it starts Wed) has been going better. I was over a couple of points yesterday, but I was under the day before so they average out, and so far today is looking good. If I can hang on through the weekend, then I'm sure the scale will be kind on Tuesday. We'll see.

Happy - Your story cracks me up. I also joined in Sept and have not lost much weight (13 ish lbs although it was 15) and I often wonder what the receptionists think when I keep coming and paying my money but don't loose. Then I think it doesn't matter what they think, I'm happy because I'm not gaining which would be what I'd be doing if I wasn't coming. Hang in there, things are bound to turn around for you soon.

Rabbit - Congratulations on the 3 lbs . Good luck hanging in there over the weekend, I know you can do it. Good luck walking for the cure also.

LBH - I completely understand you're frustration. Planning (and sticking to it) seems to be key for me. I don't know if this is 'legal' but on one of the other threads they were talking about if dinner is your big meal, start your day with that and then continue with breakfast and lunch the next day. That way if you over indulge at dinner you can make it up instead of writing off the day and starting over and doing the same thing. Might work.

Jennelle - Apparently failing to plan is the theme for the week. Hope your weigh in went well and good luck getting back OP.

KarenK - Bummer about the salad.

BFB - I understand about the eating when bored. I think that's where a good portion of the 10 lbs I gained last year came from. Good luck getting back on track. And hey if they're willing to pay your for doing your own stuff, let 'em.

LE - Happy belated anniversary .

RR - Wellcome back!!! Glad you had fun on your honeymoon. I can imagine getting used to instant motherhood would be a trip. I have a hard enough time keeping my stuff out of the dogs' and cat's reach .

Well the rain has finally stopped here, I was getting ready to build an ark. K's painting his garage this weekend and I'm planning to get in some weeding and go help out. Hope everyone else has a fun weekend planned .

  • Hello Ladies!

Well, I weighed in this morning and am down another 1.5 lbs.! I was EXTREMELY surprised, considering the amount of food I ate on Wednesday night! I guess the running every other day is really doing the trick!

My birthday is next Thursday, and my birthday goal is 207. I think I might actually make it!!

  • Jenelle - please tell us your secrets!! that is so great that you keep losing - i keep staying the same but i guess that's not too bad. I'm sure you'll make your birthday goal.

Rabbit - congratulations on making it to the "60's" i'm struggling to get there too. If you can believe it, I made it down to the "40's" about 3 years ago and don't ask how i managed to put it all back on because I have no idea! So that's me right behind you trying to keep up.

Planning is the key and just stocking the house with good food is really important because then when you're hungry or don't know what to eat at least there's healthy stuff to chose from.

Well, I screwed up a bit at lunch but not too bad. For breakfast I had 2 nectarines (not much but they were good) and then I went out at work for a friend's birthday and it was a bar so you know things are going to be bad. Well I had a bbq'd chicken breast sandwich and fries - I guessed it as 14 points total do you think that's about right?? All in all it's not horrible but not great, my usual lunches are around 6 - 8 points.

    Have a good weekend everyone,
    Elisa
  • Elisa...Depending on the condiments on the chicken breast sandwich, I think it would be around 8 pts. As for the fries, I know a small serving of McDonald's fries is 6 pts. So 14 sounds like a reasonable estimate for your lunch!

As for "secrets"...I'm not sure...I always journal, no matter how bad my day is, so I think that helps. I also think that the exercise is really helping. I got my exercise slidey-thingy at WW today, but I don't think I'll use it. I figure if I just keep on exercising but not tallying the earned points, it will keep me from overeating and kind of give me an informal buffer zone.

  • hello alll!!!!Wow..we are really getting wet these last 2 days..It is unbelievable-people flooding and the rivers haven't even crested yet..My house and Refmans house are both in high areas but getting to work has been interesting d/t flooding in the roads.. I went to the club today and almost had to swim to get to the daycare....I have been soo irritable lately cuz I miss my cats and my house.I love Refman and he is building a glass room for the cats-but the weather has things slowed and I am worrying about them..

Eating has been really bad the last week..I think there are too many changes in my life and I am picking on junk way too much..THe photographer has my pics ready and I haven't even picked them up....I must pick up the mood soon!!!

Well off to bed.really bad weather brewing and I want to exit the computer!!!
    Congrats to the losers!!!!!!

  • Hi All,

OK, so what I'm thinking is this...I picked a bad week to restart officially on WW. I was PMSing all week, I was having stress because i was doing nothing at work, except playing high paid copy girl, and taking it all out on my eating habits! I screwed up at lunch yesterday. I had a Lean Cuisine with me, and decided to go to the store and get a salad to go with it. Well, I couldn't find a spot within a mile of the store so I said screw it and went to BK...then on top of that, I said screw it and biggy sized it, so I had a large fries with my Italian chicken sandwich! I did have unsweetened Iced Tea though, I'm not a big soda person.

Aunt Flo will be here Monday though, and hopefully things will be better on the job front by Tuesday - that's when everything should be finalized for the new position. I just hope my current boss doesn't decide I need to train the new girl, because from the training I got, they're better off having the girl that trained me train her! She's the kind that just says do this, this and this, not really explaining it, ya' know. Hopefully they'll hire someone that gets along with her too. She's soo not my type. She's 23, from Newark, a very urban area, and she acts very urban-ish, if you know what I mean. I mean, I'm from the suburbs, and have a country state of mind. I'm pretty laid back. It has to be bad (or PMS) for something to really stress me out. I take things with a grain of salt. She's just very fake, always bubbly, but soo fake about it. And she's very 23, you know, she's like 10 yrs. younger than me and she talks down to me because she knows the software better than me. She thinks I'm a freaking idiot. But I'm the one that makes 10K more than her now, and will be levels higher than her in the new position. OK...I'm done sounding like an immature brat...which I just realized I must sound like! Sorry.

Anyway, I have things pretty much planned out for this coming week. I made a turkey breast today, sliced up the whole thing (with my new electric knife shower present!!) and bagged it up. I have that, tunafish, lots of veggies...I'm determined to have things turn around for me this week! I'm going to WI either Tuesday or Wednesday night, and see if those leaders are better. I'm going to send in the check for our pool passes too, since the weather is finally getting warm enough for swimming, so I can swim a little after work and on the weekends. And I am going to have DH start acting like a drill sargent when it comes to walking after dinner!

Rabbit- Congrats on the BIG loss!! And congrats on getting back into the 160's and soo close to goal!!!

Tech - Do you mean like start counting the night before? That's interesting. I don't see why you couldn't do that...it's all up to you, ya' know? It sounds too confusing for me though, I'd screw that up in no time!!

Jennelle - Congrats on the loss!! In case I forget, and I probaby will, happy birthday early!! Good luck making your goal, sounds like you just might!!

RR- Just one question, is "d/t" a nursing abbreviation?! LOL, with my mom being a nurse, and working with all sorts of nurses and medical people, I see all sorts of abbreviations, some I know, some I don't. In QA, the girl I worked with always used to give me notes and I'd see a little triangle, for "changes", I think that's short hand, and I really didn't know what it meant, I just judge by what she wanted me to do that that's what it meant. So one day I asked her and she was hysterical, and apologized because she forgot that I don't necessarily know all those things! hehehe...just wondering! Hope things dry up for you!

Oh well, DH is watching Game 7 in the living room. Think I'll go check out what's on HGTV in the bedroom! Hey do any of you get Light n' Tasty magazine? It's from the same people that put out Taste of Home and Quick Cooking. My mom gets them and she got me a subscription to this one. We got DH's mom a 2 yr. subscription to it for her b-day. I love it. Marked some pages and made a shopping list for the ingredients I need. I usually pick the faily simple ones, cause I'm not much of a cook! Will let you know the recipes/pts. when I try them!

    Have a great weekend all!!
  • Ok..Colorada won last night and I am sleepy this morning but here to switch to the new thread!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
