Day 18 of Whole30, pleasantly surprised

  • I joined a women's fitness community where I'm taking group classes (totally outside my comfort zone). My bootcamp classes work all areas of my body, mixing strength training and light cardio. I have a coach assigned to me who works with me on nutrition, fitness, etc. This month, they offered a Whole30 challenge and I decided it was right or me, even though Whole30 always sounded like something I could never stick to.

Today is Day 18 and I have stuck to the diet, continuing to work out 3-4 times a week. I'm not weighing myself until the end of the challenge, but I feel amazing. 2.5 weeks in and people can see a difference in my face. I am definitely losing inches. Building muscle, losing fat and dropping lbs overall.

When I first started posting in these forums a few months back, I really thought I would stick to my home workouts, but the simple truth is I wasn't holding myself accountable. I am so grateful to have found something that is working for me. On day 30, we have a workshop to talk about what to do after Whole30, adding foods back in slowly and how to maintain a healthy lifestyle and not gain the weight back.
  • Aw man I wish I had some really good advice. But all I can say is take it one day at a time. I'm not sure what motivates you - but I know future me would be disappointed in me if I don't finish the whole 30. Perhaps that doesn't resonate with you and that's ok.
