Injury

So I just started my diet a few weeks ago and everything was going well but I made a stupid decision and I decided to go for a run and I've ended up injuring my foot. Now not only have I lost less weight than I wanted because I have been housebound but also I feel so much worse. It makes me feel old and fat and like I'm falling to bits :(

I do Youtube videos to track my progress and stuff and I've had to put a brave face on but I feel awful :(

I'm sorry you were injured. It will heal and you will lose weight! Keep the faith.

You might like to try gentle yoga or even chair stretches until you can comfortably use that foot. I really like Tai Chi as well for continuing exercise when injured. The Tai Chi also helps calm and relax you. :)

I'm sorry for your foot. can you try doing exercises while sitting? without forcing the ankle?
maybe you can use weights for the arms, or open and close the legs while standing on a chair and not applying the foot, make the abs work. It's just some ideas ... you can try, I do not think it hurts.
I hope you can get back early to start over with your program.

Thank you both! It is starting to feel a bit better but I've damaged the ball of my foot somehow and the swelling needs to go down. I did some sit up ups in the house while I couldn't walk properly but that is all I could manage for over a week. I managed to limp to the swimming baths yesterday so I am feeling a lot more happy about getting some exercise done now.

Its just these set-backs that make everything such a challenge

it's true!
when you are convinced and you are going on your diet / gymnastics path, these things don't want us, they change you mentally and they throw you down.
but be strong, keep your convictions and have a little patience while the foot heals. good luck for everything

That's good advice maddy87. :)
