Question What plan is best?

I am 38 and really need to lose 30 lbs. I had my children a little older that some people at 32 and 37 and it really did my body in. I cannot seem to get this weight off. I know I lack motivation and my schedule is crazy with 2 children and a husband. I feel like I have tired everything. What has worked for you?

Oh well, Thats sounds very complicated. I'd rather suggest you to do some stuff like walking, exercise, eat light food and consult any yoga Teacher. he would provide you some cool tips. which will help you alot.
1.- Walk => Remember not to walk at solid ground. it doesn't effect that much their is a scientific reason behind it. But it will take alot of time in explaining. Try to walk over half solid ground, like Garden Park. hope you understand what i mean.
2.- Exercise => try to perform some yoga activities. It is the most most useful think to lose your wait and it will make you feel relax. And it will also keep you healthy.
3.- Eat Light Food ==> I don't think there is any need to explain about it?.

btw wish you best of luck with your future.

"What plan is best?" is sort of a hard question to answer as not every plan fits every body. For me, I'm on a doctor-prescribed meal replacement diet as that fits *me* best. For others it's a low carb diet. For others it's clean eating. For yet others it's calorie counting. I needed something that I wouldn't have to think about; when I overthink I get frustrated and give up. So for me, being told "Eat this, this, but not that" works--I've lost 40 pounds so far!

"tired everything" sounds like a Freudian slip you need to pay attention to.
Small sustainable changes.
Make your health a priority, schedule the time for it and stick to it. Ask your husband for his help - I'm sure he wants you to succeed.
Don't focus on the weightloss, focus on the scheduling and making it into a habit that you'll have the rest of your life (eating healthy and exercise)

When my schedule was crazy hectic like yours at one time, I cut out unnecessary activities to make time for healthy eating habits and exercise. I've also met women who started having kids in their 30's and they were able to lose weight and keep it off by being very disciplined.

I'm 32 and I anticipate I won't be able to start trying for another year or so, and I know it's imperative to establish healthy habits. What I've found was letting go of the idea plans and diets are mandatory to successful weight loss and maintenance. They're not. If a person wants to lose weight, they should do it and have their goal in mind. Make smaller, achievable goals and give yourself a pat on the back when you get to them.

Your kids are 1 and 5, if I did the math right? Are you working, or a SAHM? Do you think there are ways you could incorporate physical activity with the kids?

What are your eating habits like? I've always heard your waist line starts in the kitchen.

I'm entering my 20th year of battling to get healthy and lose weight. I am now in therapy weekly and part of a weekly weight loss management group through my health insurer and the biggest thing I've learned in the past few weeks is IT AIN'T GONNA BE EASY! Find a plan that you enjoy and give yourself time. If you want to lose the weight in 6 months, give yourself 12 months a bit of a higher calorie allowance and the opportunity to do exercises you enjoy. This will pay off in the long run. REALISTIC GOALS! And keep it simple. I used myfitnesspal to calculate how many calories I needed to consume a day and I stick with that. I also walk, not run, several miles a week and am being successful with losing about 1.5-2 pounds a week Its still early but find an exercise program you like and a realistic calorie goal.

I've never dieted. That's the plan that has worked. My entire life focuses on staying as healthy as possible, and my food choices reflect that.

Here's the "plan"

Get 10,000 steps.

Keep net carbs under 100 g, try for a 30% fat, 30% carb, 30% protein give or take. Up the fat % before the others.

No sugar, flour, grains, potatoes. If you try to keep net carbs (carbs-fiber) under 100g, you will soon see that you can't eat much of this stuff anyway.

Use Loseit! to keep track of calories. Weigh your food on a food scale. Divide things like nuts into one ounce servings in plastic bags. Don't eat from multiserving containers.
(I'm 5'5" at 118 lbs, 38 yrs old too!)

Good luck!
