I have been a bit stuck the last part of November, Thanksgiving definitely didn't help matters, haha. Finally saw a decent drop this morning and am hoping to continue that this month! Good luck everyone, we can finish 2015 in a strong way!

I was doing great in November until Thanksgiving struck. It didn't derail me as far as my diet goes but it caused a small gain which I still haven't lost. My plan for December is to stay on plan every day except for Dec 24 & 25 and Dec 31 & Jan 1 (my birthday). I should still be able to lose 5-7 lbs by the end of the month.

SW: 200.4
GW: 195.4 (-5 lbs)

December

1. 200.4 (-0.2)
2. 199.4 (-1.0)
3. 198.8 (-0.6)
4. 198.8 (0) - This number may be inaccurate because I had a bad headache that woke me up at 5AM. I weighed myself at 5 instead of waiting until 9AM, when I usually weigh myself.
5. 198.0 (-0.8)
6. 198.2 (+0.2) - Had bacon and pancakes at Perkins yesterday. The salt in the bacon may be the reason for this gain.

Total Weekly Weight Loss: -4.4 lbs
Total December Weight Loss: -4.2 lbs

7. 196.2 (-2) - WHOOSH! :carrot:
8. 197.0 (+0.8) - Expected a little kickback after the huge whoosh yesterday.
9. 195.8 (-1.2) - I was not expecting this but I'll take it! :D
10. 196.0 (+0.2)
11. 197.0 (+1.0) - I didn't get much sleep last night and TOM is coming any day now.
12. 197.4 (+0.4)
13. 197.4 (0)

Total Weekly Weight Loss: +2.2 lbs
Total December Weight Loss: -2.2 lbs

14. 198.4 (+1) - TOM still hasn't come and I was attacked by Christmas cookies yesterday and lost the battle. I haven't lost the war and will get back on track for at least the next 5 days - next weekend will probably be another lost cause so I need to be really strict Monday-Friday.
15. 199.2 (+0.8) (TOM)
16. 199.2 (0) (TOM) - Diet isn't going so good. I'll keep recording my weight but I might not get back on track diet-wise til the new year.

Initially I thought I would have reached my goal weight by my birthday this month, but I didn't count on plateauing twice this year which adds up to about 6 months with no weight loss. I had to start intermittent fasting in order to see any new numbers last month, but I can't keep it up and I don't want to. I'm bitter but I'm gonna keep trying to lose this excess weight until it's gone.

SW: 164.2

What is TOM? I've seen that acronym on these feeds a lot but can't figure it out

HIheart 12-11-2015 12:25 PM

Time of the month

I gain during tom/af too. And then eat everything in sight for a couple of days. It's a vicious cycle!

kiwi1222 12-13-2015 10:34 AM

Thanks. All makes sense now

shelflife 12-15-2015 03:11 PM

Mid-month check in!

I was right that this month was going to be a challenge. I have definitely been riding the damn struggle bus. I don't think I'll make my goal this month, but hopefully I can still lose a couple of pounds. Christmas is only one day. I've got to make sure its effects only last one day!

How's everyone else doing?

LesGetFit 12-16-2015 03:47 PM

Sorry about the struggle bus, Shelflife! Hopefully things get easier for you the rest of the month. I know what you mean about the effects of Christmas. I am also really hoping to just let it be one day this time, because Thanksgiving seemed to derail for me for several days.

I seem to be doing ok this month so far. Expecting some normal cycle gains though so who knows where I'll be at the end of the month. Hope everyone is doing really well!

circa83 12-17-2015 10:36 AM

I'm sure I won't make my goal this month either. Too many birthday goodies and still Christmas to come. I'm used to not hitting my goals this year, unfortunately. I think my body's freaking out because I've never weighed this low as an adult. I just have to keep reminding myself that gains like these are only minor setbacks. Now, I'm looking forward to a more productive, plateau-free 2016.

kiwi1222 12-17-2015 11:53 AM

I have been moving super steadily. I am still having trouble getting into a new routine of being single and cooking for a single person and sometimes when I don't have somebody to cook for, I get lazy and order chinese and eat that for days for dinner, but the sodium is crazy so I bloat. I am trying to do better but my goal is looking like it will not happen. I won't have a reliable scale for all of next week so I am just gonna work extra hard so that when I get back home to my scale the number is lower. Its gonna be hard with birthday and christmas treats as well.

HIheart 12-19-2015 01:15 PM

I'm having a hard time this month too. It's really hard when yummy food is always in your face. I know that's just an excuse, but my mind just isn't there right now. When I'm fully on game, I can still make better choices even when food is everywhere. I weighed in at 163.0 today, which is up 2 lbs from my lowest in Nov. the only thing stopping me from having packed on another 10 lbs is intermittent fasting, which I don't even have the willpower to do every day right now. But thank goodness for IF. My food choices are so bad!

it sounds weird, but I haven't been weighing daily because it's too cold and dark and Im always getting out of bed last minute now. I can't get an accurate weigh in if I'm wearing different clothes every day. I need to suck it up and deal with the cold an extra min until I get to the scale first thing in the morning! I honestly think since I know I won't be weighing and seeing my food choices affect the scale that it has a bearing on what I eat and willpower. Really weird right?! I need to get a grip on this simple little thing!

My goal is now just to not get higher than 163, so I just want to maintain until after The holidays. Hopefully if I weigh in daily, I'll get back to losing, but maintence is far better than not meeting any goals and still gaining

Kiwi, have you tried doubling the food anyway and saving it for another meal? I know some people can't do leftovers no matter what, but the ease of it when you're tired helps me avoid fast food. Or are you just not finding the motivation to cook in the first place? That's my prob most of the time!

Everything has a simple solution, it's just hard to actually follow through day in and day out

kiwi1222 12-19-2015 11:26 PM

This week I was just really bad at prepping. I actually love cooking but since the breakup its just been hard. What I have been doing is making grilled boneless skinless chicken thighs and cutting it up for the week for salads at lunch and then for dinner I'll do a couple chicken tacos. Ive just been unmotivated probably also bc I was sick all week. It's easy to get by with lunch bc I keep the pantry stocked with soup I can grab on the way out the door. I think I managed something healthy for dinner Tuesday night but when I got him Wednesday I was spent. Now that I write this post, I do think me being sick and not being able to prep for the week is what gave me this setback. Now I'm without "my" scale until the 27th so I'm working out like crazy and trying to keep the calorie intake under control so I see some results when I get back home

fitmama84 12-20-2015 05:59 AM

My weigh in

3 weeks ago I was 197.2, today I am 187.6! Hoping I don't gain it all back during the holidays lol. Going to try not to overdo it.

person12670 12-20-2015 09:07 AM

Its been a good month for me so far, went from 242 at the beginning of the month to 232 today! So I have reversed the weight I gained in November and then some. Now I need to have the willpower to keep it up over the holidays...

circa83 12-30-2015 09:16 AM

My December was a waste. In fact this whole year has been pretty pathetic compared to the progress I made in 2014. No screwing around in 2016. I'm hitting that goal, -30 lbs. New year means a new strategy. No more multi-month plateaus. No more fast gains that take me up to the obesity line after spending months trying to get away from it. I've got to be smarter about my food choices. The lifestyle change approach isn't giving me results anymore. I think I'm going to have to go on an actual diet.
