Hahaha! nickilaughs, you made me laugh with packing a lunch of dry chicken to a wedding...

I was 196.8 this morning I believe (I don't remember, I was very tired ; maybe I was 197.4? I don't know). Not surprised whatsoever, given that hubby went grocery shopping and he bought all sorts of protein bars and sugar free candy, and I just felt like I had to try it. :dz:

So anyway... I'm doing a wonderful job staying on track today.

:broc: :broc: :broc:

nickilaughs 04-28-2015 09:09 PM

Oh I would never do that at a wedding, but this guy at my work would!

stepbystep 04-28-2015 09:21 PM

Love this forum for keeping it real! I've been that obsessed person before who would think about missing the wedding because of the meal, and where am I 3 years later? Fat. It doesn't work. SO, it's great to be surrounded by a bunch of people who are doing great by doing it right most of the time :)

After a day of catching up on sleep from my stupid overstressful job and trying to drink out the vile cold I've got, woke up today feeling a million times better and back at my lowest weight thus far, yippeee! The best thing is, I've got another three days off work, thank you public holidays!

I'm no way going to make my original aim of 92.0, but I am hoping for a 92.9 tomorrow...... Today is all about maintaining water intake to flush out this cold and eating three tasty and healthy meals, I enjoyed everything I ate yesterday and it totally stopped me from eating in the evening or snacking unnecessarily.

Today I am also taking out my new scooter on the scary streets of Ha Noi, it is crazy out there so I've put off getting my own wheels for 8 months.... however the holidays means it's quiet so I'm giving it a go! 3 weeks ago it would have been to go from bakery to bakery, not today!

Have a great day everyone :)

You guys are doing amazing!

I'm not going to make my April goal.....and I don't even know why. I've been doing everything right - minus a day here and there where I went over *slightly* - so I feel like I need to re-evaluate my plan because it just isn't working.

I'm doing better than I thought I would this month. I don't know if my metabolism is out of whack or if it's doing what it should have been doing the whole time. I just feel backwards because I've been eating more sugar lately because that's what broke my plateau. I have a small fear that I could get sugar addicted again, but I haven't gone back to sweetening my tea and when I have something sweet it's pretty much my only source of carbs for the day outside of vegetables. I'm trying to have that lifestyle change mentality where I'm not too restrictive day to day. A bad day is when I have a baconator combo with sweet lemonade. A day where I have a serving of oreo cream pie is not. I guess it's up to each individual to find out what their limits and triggers are and work towards finding a sustainable balance. It doesn't have to be all or nothing. The bad days and the gains still suck, but at least it's not permanent.

So... last night I was not feeling very good about dinner, although it was healthy and a decent portion, so I got on the treadmill for a little work out. But then I discovered a way to use my time productively while on the treadmill, and now I'm learning French with Duolingo on my phone while walking briskly for a workout. It gives me double the motivation to lose weight and learn that language I love, and I can never find the time to study. :) Plus I might save myself some time and money studying a third language in order to graduate.

Laura you've lost quite a bit of weight overall, don't let the bad weigh ins get to you.are your clothes looser? Sometimes the scale doesn't reflect progress.
Pauli, you are rocking it this month!
Circa, I understand the fear of sugar. You seem to know the balance you need.
Step you still had a lot of progress this month. I spoke with a trainer and he said a consistent weight loss I the right direction slowly is the best approach. Losing it too fast will increase the likelihood of regain. You don't appreciate the hard work as much if you lose rapidly. So your just doing it right!
We've got a new month just around the corner, so time to start planning our next goals!

Laura78 04-29-2015 04:46 PM

Thanks nickilaughs! My clothes are definitely loser and I know 30 lbs is a great number to reach but it's like my weight hasn't budged for a couple weeks now. I guess a pound here and there is better than nothing....but at my current rate I won't lose 10 lbs in 2 months which is my goal. I am eating about 1500 cals and working out 200-300 cals of that off so I should be dropping and I'm just not....

stepbystep 04-29-2015 09:20 PM

Laura, if you don't meet 10lb in 2 months.... so what? You have lost a lot of weight forever..... if you lose 6/7lb in two months forever and the other 3/4 take another couple of weeks/months, that's okay. Is your current lifestyle one you can keep up for the longterm? If it is, enjoy the ride, be patient and the results will come and come to stay. You've done so well so far, that pound here and there will soon add up :)

Paulitens -tres bien :) you're doing great..... now exercise, that's my next battle to start. I love it once I'm in, but getting in isn't so easy. I need to start by deciding what exercise will mean to me living over here.

Nickilaughs - yep slow and steady and real are my mottos this time. E.g. went to my friends last night, last minute thing and everyone was ordering pizza and drinking. I was making really weak wine sodas on the drink front, but decided to join in with the pizza. It was delicious. I don't regret it. I ate two great meals otherwise yesterday and am back on it today, this way weight loss will be slower, but it will also be surer!

Looking forward to May already!

Thank you, nickilaughs and stepbystep! I need to keep that motivation going.

4/30: 195.8 - not surprised at all. Yesterday I went to town at Chick Fil-A on before going to class and they make these AMAZING chocolate chip cookies that are massive. And I ate two and a half times what I was supposed to. Plus Coke. Plus a smoothie because my professor decided to have our last class at a bar and I don't drink alcohol, so that was my drink of choice. I know, shame on me right? It sounds like a massive binge, or a good splurge, or whatever. But it was all really good, I enjoyed my Wednesday dinner with my family, and my smoothie with my professor and classmates. So... yeah, I totally expected this bump today, and I'm back to my good life. :)

You totally just made me cry! In a good way. My husband keeps saying the same thing. What I'm doing now I can definitely maintain and the thought of even less food and more exercise is nauseating. Thanks for being a voice of reason for me.

And, hey, I lost 4.6 lbs for the month so overall that's great, right!?? Especially for a slow loser like me. :)

Great job everyone! Let's bring on May.....

nickilaughs 04-30-2015 03:26 PM

So proud of all you guys!! Everyone made steps in the right direction so we just gotta keep that motivation up!
