I am in this group. I am down to about 194 from 200. I am 64 inches.
I looked at my log from end of summer and I was in the 180's. how does the gain happen so fast? |
Well no big drop for me but last time I got on the scale I was 192. 1 lb. is better than nothing I figure. Lets keep it going ladies! Pretty soon we will have to label this thread "180's!!!

Trying to figure out my calories - Help!
So, i'm trying to eat the right amount of calorie to coordinate with my activity level.
I was mentally beating myself up over my calorie intake today, when I realized that this wasn't an over eating day or a binge session. I purposefully added in another snack and upped my dinner portion because I was trying to get to the proper calorie intake for my activity level. Today, I ate 2045 and I was SO FULL. Luckily, I had enough energy for my swim tonight. I normally eat around 1600 when I'm not exercising. I don't think I can keep eating this much, but I don't want to drop too low in calories that I don't lose any weight. I checked out a BMI calculator and this is what it said: CW: 185 GW: 145 Height: 5'7" Sedentary = 1726 calories Lightly Active (1-3 days/week) = 1977 Mod Active (3-5 days/week) = 2229 Highly Active (6-7 days/week) = 2481 I was losing weight just fine when I was counting and not working out. Now that I'm adding in activity, I'm a little confused. Does anyone have suggestions/advice on this? |
Wishing all of you good luck in January!

I'm with you on the daily weigh ins anewbody2013 - I tried that one time, and it drove me crazy! I weigh myself about once a month now.
I've been on track so far - a few adjustments I need to make with my diet. I'll post later, just wanted to check in. |
Oh these blasted 190's. I weighed in one day bi was 190. Then the next time I weighed in I was 191!!! Grrr. I just want the 180's to come and stick. That's when I will feel like I am making progress. I went on my fitness pal and looked at the my weights I entered for the past year and they were all between 190 and 200. I just float within that weight back and forward. So I just feel like when I get into the 180's that is going to show that what I am doing is paying off. I am trying not to get frustrated and hopeless. Just a rant. :)

Back in the 190s after being in the 200s (in which I regained weight that I lost). Starting to workout today and hope to be in the 180s (at least by summer).
|
Good luck to you!

Count me in, too! I'm at 195, which is the heaviest I've ever been in my life. I looked at some pictures from 5 years ago when I was at 150 - I remember not thinking I looked thin enough but dang I would give anything to be back there!:)

Hope everyone had a good weekend!
So, I think I mentioned before how I wore myself out the first week in January, and decided to get back on track. Well, I slept a good amount this weekend and planned all my meals and snacks for the week - they're in the fridge waiting to go into my lunch bag. I'm feeling sluggish from all the relaxing and, I'll admit, overeating for comfort. I'm glad to feel sluggish rather than depressed and guilty because I know that Monday is the start to a week of good choices. There's really no other option since my food is in the appropriate, and portioned, containers, lol. So, no wiggle room for calorie failure! My biggest challenge will be dinner. I will want to overeat. However, my husband and I decided that going to the gym together after work works best for us. Even though I pushed it too hard the first week, the fact is that I still sit down all day and cannot afford to get cramped and stiff from inactivity. I decided that I will walk on the treadmill while he runs so that I do not wear myself out. I'll start slow and steady and see how it goes. Wish me luck! |
Wish you luck! I love how you already pre planned and packaged your meals. That makes everything so much easier! I just have to get my self together and do that! One less thing you have to think about durin the week regarding your food choices. Because so much time and energy can just go into thinking about what you are going to eat and trying to make the right choice. I love the saying that " no matter I slow you go, you are still lapping the perisn in the couch" so keep it up and good job!!!
