Portion sizes and limits.
Set them before you go on your trip. Plan to succeed or you (by default) plan to fail.
Allow yourself some extras (you are going on vacation...right?
) Be realistic and do not set unattainable goals. Ex. "I will allow myself 1-2 drinks per night, but no sugary drinks...straight or with sugar-free mixers" - or - ...I will allow myself 2 desserts (fist size) while on vacation..."
Not sure what you "crave", but you should allow yourself "a little" of what it is that you truly love...albeit alcohol (just chuck the sugar and stick with diet mixers).
Lastly...a wonderful goal to set while on vacation is to utilize the hotel GYM! This will enable you to have "a little" bit more without having to bite the dust on the scale. I've done this before on a cruise and it really started my day off RIGHT! I know...I know...who feels like 'working out' on vacation...NOBODY...but you'll feel better for it and the scale will be much kinder to you for it!
