Day two of october and I have to say I'm not behaving myself very well. We had a horror movie night at my house last night, watched My Bloody Valentine and had pizza and beer. I had 1 and a half pieces of cheese pizza, one beer and a glass of red wine. Thankfully I had taken it easy on food all day before that.
Today I'm working for a few hours to let some of my employees make up hours they missed this week, then I have a BBQ to go to, and after that a spaghetti feed fundraiser...foodie events...I hate them. Somewhere in between all of that I'll find time to work out on my gazelle.

I went to go buy pumpkins last night for fall decor, and our stores don't have them yet, I was excited to get them, what a downer. I got those freeze dried multi colored corn cobs and some squash instead, but now my son wants me to cook the squash instead of using it for decor. I wouldn't have this problem if they would just order pumpkins!

JayZeeJay - good job on committing youreself to exercise. You can do it!!

Not much going on here - still in the first week of P90X. Today is Yoga X...90min of what I'm sure will be lot's of fun. ;) Lost a pound last week - after working out 6 days last week, I had hoped for more.

Have a great Monday!!

I love October too. It's starting to be really foggy in the morning and it's great for taking landscape pictures. Can't wait to try out my new tripod stand I got for my camera :carrot:.
Also, this October means returning to the US for 3 weeks - and going to the Harry Potter park in Florida *woohoo*

Hey guys!

You will not believe what happened to me! Sunday, my little dog was playing with her tennis ball in the kitchen while I was cooking and she bumped my leg-- and I stepped back-- RIGHT onto her ball. Fell flat on my back and head!:(:dizzy: Spent Sunday and Monday on muscle relaxers and am back in the game today. I won't be doing any jumping jacks but I am eating correctly and drinking my water. Also, lots of bending to help with how stiff I feel from lying around all day yesterday!

Hope everyone is doing well! Really looking forward to the new BL challenge!

I like October. It is the beginning of my favorite time of the year. Sure summer is cool, but where I live it is HOT. So summers are filled with weekends to the beach. Fall and Winter however, is what I love. Big comfy sweaters, holidays, fire going in the fireplace and soup. I LOVE SOUP.

I am fairly new here and just looking for some friends who are in the same fight as myself. My fiancee is on this journey as well, but somehow its just not the same. HAHA.

I am excited about my weight loss and my ability to make my kids "converts" we will see what this season brings. I have given everyone one "free" day for the next three months. That covers Birthday's, Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Hello! I am new here, but I thought I'd chip in, as you've got me feeling all 'Octobery'.

I love October - we got married in October (15th, 5 years this year) so we're off on holiday in a couple of days. A week of mountainbiking rounded off with an overnight stay in a spa. Bliss.

Hallowe'en isn't such a big thing over here as it is across the pond, and it usually passes me by in a kind of humbuggy haze, but this year I'm going to a friend's SERIOUSLY big party, and actually quite looking forward to it. Who knows what I'm going to wear, but it's going to involve makeup. Lots of makeup.

I love to see the leaves turning, and I love the colder mornings and the darker evenings. And really, when all's said and done, there's nothing like a glass of good red in front of an open fire in a pub after a crisp autumn walk.

Lovely.

:)

cincimimi - have a great trip to the US

Parkedout - OM! Yikes, that coulda been a whole lot worse! Hope you're on the mend soon.

LazyLioness - Keep talking to your kids, setting a good example and being the trail blazer in your house hold. After a year, I have my kids converted to no fast food and all organic produce. Do the research, and share your findings with them if they are old enough (my 2 biggers are 12 & 8).

Shoeless - :welcome2:

Today is my rest/recovery day - :woohoo:
I started P90X a week ago, and oh boy... I have only lost .2 of a lb, but amazingly, my waist is an INCH smaller!! :carrot:

Don't know how much school we will get done today. ugh. My 8yo dd has already had a melt down (it's 8:17am) and my 12yo ds is complaining of a sore throat. I'll try to get their Language Arts and Math in them at the least.

Have a GREAT day!!

SassyPoppet 10-07-2010 09:58 AM

Mortonpixie, I have the P90x videos (a friend gave them to me) but have never done them but keep hearing good things. I do like the thought of being able to do them at home!! My friend really likes them... I think I'll do it!

As for October? I loooove fall and the weather - sweaters, boots, and oddly enough I love wool plaid :) I'm really excited about Halloween too because my daughter who's 3 wants to decorate and pick out her own costume. I love the fact she likes to decorate "her house" :)

I'm also excited because this is my first month getting on setting up a plan for this little journey! I'm glad I'm here!

lazylioness 10-07-2010 11:44 AM

Thanks mortonpixie! And yes, I do all kinds of research and fact finding with them. They are for sure old enough 12,16,19,20! Of course the two eldest are only on board for dinner. The rest of the meals they fend for themselves. They are skinny mini's and with full time work and full time school, they are not *quite* the converts that the other two are. Of course the other two have a diet that is entirely under my control HAHA.

The biggest thing however, is that this last weekend we spent the weekend in LA. We went to the Getty Center, and the Natural History Museum and hung around the USC Campus (that is where the 16 year old wants to go to school) Anyway, on the way home (we live about 3 hours southeast of LA) I was tired, and did NOT want to stop and get out of the car again. So I decided, what the heck, everyone's favorite fast food is Taco Bell. (and its cheap with a drive thru) So everyone got their one favorite thing. After all was said and done I looked into the backseat and they all looked grossed out. I asked what was wrong and my 16 year old (biggest junk food junkie EVER) was like "mom, that was gross. Seriously gross. AND I am still hungry. When we get home can I have a chicken Caesar salad?"

WAHOOO! CONVERTS!!!!!

parkedout 10-07-2010 03:20 PM

MPixie:Thanks! I saw where you were starting this on your blog. I bet you do great! :carrot:

I feel fantastic today. I believe I am going to start the working out again tomorrow instead of Monday. I don't have so much as a twinge! :D

mortonpixie 10-08-2010 08:44 AM

SassyPoppet - :welcome2:

LazyLioness - :applause: Wow! You're converting teens!? You are awesome!!

Parkedout - *my ONE blog reader!* SO glad you are feeling better...I have back issues and just shuddered when I read about your fall. Oof.

Friday, sort of. Hubby's schedule changed this month to having Tuesday and Wednesday off so today sorta feels like Tuesday...but I don't take daycare kids on the weekends, so it's sorta Friday for me...oh forget it - it's a great day no matter what it's called!

Yesterday I enjoyed my rest day from exercise! I really wanted a PB and Banana Sandwich after the kids went to bed...I was hungry to the core. But I had a handfull of almonds and a big glass of water instead. Weighed in at 166.2 this morning - lowest weight in 4 years - :carrot:

And - I know this sounds impossible - but I took my measurements yesterday (1 week on P90X) and have lost an INCH off my waist already. I measured several times...and my initial measurement was accurate. I had told hubby I felt tighter in the tummy somehow - wowee!

Heya ladies. new to this forum, normally post over in the 100lb club.

So far I've been on a roll in October. Hoping to keep that momentum going through the end of the year. A few things have clicked for me lately.

wickedlady 10-08-2010 10:31 AM

Love the fall... it's finally cooling down a bit here in Denver. Makes for wonderful running weather! I also love hoodies, halloween and pumpkins... yay!

lazylioness 10-08-2010 11:49 AM

HAHA mortonpixie. Converting teenagers is not that difficult. Honestly. They are like dogs, when they get hungry, they will eat! If the only things in the house are healthy choices, then they learn to eat healthy choices! They can only "mooch" off of their friends at school for so long :)

Of course this only works with teenagers who are not working and able to provide their own monetary contribution to their diet HAHA. My older two, both are in college and work full time, so I cannot really do anything about them! Well for breakfast and lunch anyway. Come dinner time (or the end of the week when payday is a week away) they all happily ingest whatever I put on their plates!
