Default Weekends Are Killing Me!

We have been going camping every weekend, and its not helping my progress at all! My eating has been pretty on track all week, right up until our campfire dinner Friday night. And doesnt get any better again til Monday morning. I have been dropping weight throughout the week, only to gain it back over the weekend. Very frustrated, especially since camping is something we LOVE to do and plan on doing as much as we can this summer. We don't have tons of room for extra food, etc so trying to figure out how I can at least remain even over the weekend while still enjoying myself. Suggestions?

I'm looking forward to seeing some ideas because the same thing is happening to me some weeks - we don't go EVERY weekend, but fairly often. We're hiking a LOT while out camping, bringing fresh fruit and completely healthy meal prep stuff, but for some reason I'm thinking, "Oh, I'm walking eight miles, I can add in X" or nearly double my dinner portion, or we stop for ice cream on the way home or fill in the blank. OR I do it in reverse and do great on the camping trip and then can't get myself back into my routine during the week. So as a 40-something, I'm spying on your answers Good luck, though!

Weekends can be killer. Our weekends are all about errands, family outings, etc...and summer time with 4 kids = swimming pool, outdoor games...not to mention my garden and my fitness aspirations.

If you track calories, carbs, points, whatever - you just need to keep doing it on the weekends. No excuses. Doing things like doubling your dinner portions on the weekends because you walked or hiked or played with the kids is a conscious effort at self sabotage.

This has to be a lifestyle change in order to make it stick. You can loose 20lbs as many times as you can gain it back if you look at it as a temporary thing.

You could try packing a ton of veggies and using long skewers (like for marshmallows) and cook them over the campfire.

Hang in there! It's mind over matter...if you want to have one treat. That's not bad, but only one. That way you're not completely depriving yourself. Then stick to the healthy stuff you bring and keep reminding yourself of what you want to look like in Vegas!

You girls are awesome, and have wonderful ideas!

Caro......thank you for all of your support! No potato chip or hamburger bun is worth not being "hot" for my trip to Vegas! ;-)

Ugh, weekends are killer for me too. I have the attitude of throwing my calorie counting out the window because it's "the weekend".

I find sometimes that my week is so stressful and on lock down that I want to be free on the weekend....hmm, maybe that's my problem right there!

Weekends aren't so bad for me... I just have a problem staying on track all week long! I do pretty good for the most part, but every now and then I'll stray over to the chocolates or sweets section of the store and see what they have.

Today was bad. I ate a whole package of generic DingDongs. There's only 2 in a package, but that's 350 calories. And they didn't even taste all that good! They stuck in my mouth the whole time.

If it weren't for this crazy weather I'd be out walking around the trailer park every dang day!!! *shakes a fist at Mother Nature*
