Thread for the 190's??
Does one exist? If so, can you point me to it? If not, wanna start one? :D
|
I hear ya! I've been dancing around 190 so long that I think its going to propose! I am soooo ready to be out of the 190s!! My clothes are fitting differently and I have ramped up my exercise and nadda. Hopefully my woosh is coming soon!
What is it with being just on the other side of a milestone that it seems to h-a-n-g a-r-o-u-n-d and not leave! I was so excited to see the 1--s but I'm over it. Yes, it was great, but now its not enough. I have put in the work to see 180s. Okay, vent over, thanks! We'll do this! It's just a matter of time! |
I was looking for one too! I'm smack in the middle of the 190's and had a rough day... movie day with friends with food out for two meals. rrgh.
It's so much easier to keep on top of things on the days my husband works. He is sympathetic, but really doesn't understand. |
Yay thanks for posting guys I was feeling pretty lonely! Weighed in today and I lost .6 lbs... so I now weigh 191 :( ARRGG!
OK, we can do it, we are so close to the 180's!! I am cheering for your two!! I am going to lose 2 lbs this week by keeping my calories under 1800 and burning 2800+ cals a day!! |
I hear you NicoleJoy, I keep bouncing the same .7 pounds up and down. My goal is to be in the mid 180's by the end of the month... that's 18 days away now.
I'm going to try to head over to the gym tonight and take the Zumba class they offer and I need to get off my butt and start the running program I've been looking at. As a lifetime running hater I don't have a lot of faith it will be pleasant, but I really admire the bodies of people who run. How are you burning 2800 cal a day? What works for you? |
Well, I saw 189 on the scale this am! YAY! I am not sure if I will see it tomorrow also, but it's a start!
|
Annie!! That's awesome!! I stepped on the scale this morning and was at 190, which made me SOOO happy!! Hopefully by my official weigh in next week I will be at 189! Then we can all join the 180's thread!! :D
JayMar, how are you liking Zumba? I'm using a BodyBugg (like they wear on the biggest loser) and it tells me I burn about 1800 cals a day if I sit around all day. I can usually hit 2800 with one good 30-45 minute work out (walk-running for me), as well as staying on my feet. I would LOVE to start running!! I hate it but runners seem so HOT!! What running program are you following? |
Grrr, okay I'm joining this thread. I'm also part of dive under 185 but that seems to be a lifelong membership. Hopefully I can leave this thread in no time! (Sorry, not to offend anyone, but I bet you all understand).
|
Welcome! Yep, we want to leave it too :)
|
Umm.. well... I missed Zumba last night due to a family thing. Luckily a family thing that didn't involve food. The next class is on Tuesday, so I'll find out then!
For running I am using the daily e-mail from about.com "3 weeks to a 30 minute running habit". I can't post links yet, but it will come up right away on google. So far it's going ok... I still hate running, but with this program I don't feel like I have to be running a mile on the first day. Annie! way to go! Amy ~ Let's face it, none of us want to be on this part of the forum... I know I want to be in the maintainers side! ;) |
Thanks for the tip- I signed up for the "3 weeks" e-mail. I want to look like one of those sexy b*tches that run around my neighborhood in their black running gear, sunglasses and ponytails!!! hahaha.
|
Grins! You'll get there!
I also found a podcast called Podcasts for Running and I loaded it up on my ipod and headed for the local middle school track. It sets out the intervals for you and has upbeat music and encouragement on it. I was really excited that I stuck through the entire thing (something I can never seem to do on a treadmill) and... I was down an entire pound the next day! I'm on a two day rest to let my blisters heal (darn cheap shoes) and then I will be back out on the track tomorrow night, because apparently... this works! |
That is so awesome! What shoes are you using? I treated myself to a pair of running shoes and they are the best ever- Asics Kayanos. They are good for wide, wobbly feet. I visited a running store that does that free foot scan thingie and will tell you if you pronate, etc.- so fun, I highly recommend! My running store has a weekly fun run for every level, but I need to make sure I can run at least a mile before I can join...
|
I've had a crazy last few days and haven't gotten any exercise in aside from my stretching for flexibility. I went to Lady Footlocker today and got fitted for shoes, I ended up getting a pair of Ryka's and the best news is, when I'm walking in them I can't feel the healing blister. We will see how it goes in a bit when I head out to run.
On the plus side, I've managed to maintain the last three days, I'm at 191.6 (so close!) and not gain. OK.. out the door I go before I talk myself out of this! |
Hi all! I am new to the site and was wondering if I could join you guys. I am unfortunatley hanging out in the 190's and can't seem to stay motivated long enough to drop below them. You all sound like you are doing great. Keep up the good work!!
|
Absolutely join us!! I am tottering between 191 and 189, so I am kind of in and out of this thread and the 180's thread...
Good luck to you!! Get thee to the 180's!! :D |
Thought that I would check in and see how everyone is doing!
So.... how is everybody doing? In my world, the weight is up a little. I am in week 2 of C25K and am doing *ok* with it. My knees hurt like crazy and I stopped and picked up some glucosamine, hoping that will help. I finally got my ticker and it made me really realize how much I've been bouncing up and down over the last month, so I bit the bullet and signed up for a personal trainer at the gym. Luckily my gym, is more like Average Joe's in the movie Dodgeball than the high pump glossy type. I had a nice long talk with both trainers, and they really seemed to listen to me and my goals. We'll see where I am after 12 weeks of butt kicking! |
JayMar- good for you!! It's one of my goals to get a personal trainer too.. we are worth it! :D And what a great, non-food reward to give yourself. Let me know how it goes.
|
Thanks for the encouragement Nicole! I really appreciate it!
OK.. had my first trainer workout tonight and I did pretty well, but I am sore already! We laughed alot.. which i really like, and he's fitting me in for a free session to get me on track between my scheduled once a week appts. We did arms with barbells and abs on the floor. I impressed him with my plank skillz! grins. I wooshed to 190 exactly this morning, but I never believe anything until three days after to see if it sticks. And I think I'm getting smaller... my cellulite is sticking out more on my bottom. So silly... I'm grossed out and happy all at the same time! |
Can I hop in here? I'm sorta starting today, at 198. Actually I've lost about 13 lbs before, stalled, gained 5 back, maintained for a while at 198 and now I'm finally getting serious about this. I can't remember the last time I was below 190!
|
absolutely Lin, welcome to the thread!
|
hello all,
i'm new to this, and this is my first post ever to this forum... I joined because I got the scare of my life last week... For the first time, I crossed the 190 mark (and not in a good way)... (I had been hovering in the high 180s, and never thought i'd go over that.) any advice for someone new to this? -shiny |
Welcome!!
I am welcoming myself back after a week in the 180's (189)... I took some time off working out and logging my calories, and of course this made me gain 2 lbs. Hope to be out of here again soon! |
I think I may be out... but I like you guys!
Shinyroom, welcome aboard! As you look around the forums you'll see that one thing doesn't work for everyone. I'm a calorie counter now for the first time in my life, and that seems to be working along with varied exercise. My best advice is to be honest to yourself, understand that when you fall down you pick yourself right back up and get back on track, don't beat yourself up for things you've done, think about how you will make different choices the next time, and don't be afraid to ask the people on this forum anything! They've been there, they've seen it all. |
Hi everyone! Just wanted to check in and see how everyone was doing. I've had a stomach bug so haven't been on in a while. I hope everyone is doing well and has a wonderful weekend.
|
thanks for the welcome Jaymar
I have sporadic internet access, so there's a timelag here...
I am so bummed. I weighed myself yesterday and I was up to 192. 192! I went in reverse of where I was supposed to go. the one thing I can console myself with is that my period just started today, so maybe at least 1 pound of that was water weight that i'll lose by the end of this period cycle? |
TOM can definatly cause a stand still or a gain. Just stick with your eating and exercise plan and you will probably see a decrease after he's gone.
As for me I just got over a stomach bug. I know the lose won't stick, but I was thrilled to see 193.5 on the scale. It's been a long time since I was under 195. Hope everyone has a good Monday!! |
So sorry to hear that Shiny! I've had a few spikes up in the last two months since I "got serious". I weigh every day so I'm learning my body's ups and downs day to day. I notice that after I do weights with my trainer I go up the next day. I'm not sure why this is.
And BabyBoop.. I always remember the bit in Romy and Michelle's High School reunion when they talk about mono being the best thing that could have happened to Romy because she lost all her excess weight. |
Well today was my "official" weigh in day and the scale still says 193.5!! I am so excited! So close to the 180's!!! Have a good Monday everyone!!

There you go! I'm hoping to be able to join you guys soon. I can taste Onederland and I hope to see it in person next Tuesday! |
I am going all around here joining these groups in hopes I will get away from 190's. I go from 190 to 192 ohhh this has got to change.
|
Hi everyone!! Is it ok if I join in here. I am hoping to be out of the 190's really soon. Yesterday weigh in I was 191.2. :carrot:
|
Thanks Rebound! That makes complete sense now.
It looks like I am officially out of this thread (yay!), I've been below 189 for almost a week now, so I think I can safely call this actual loss. |
Hey JayMar, So happy for you and props for working so hard!! You are an inspiration to me :) I am definitely going to do my budget and work in a gym membership/ personal trainer this summer- I am glad it is working so well for you.
|
Woo hoo!! I don't know how I did it, but I shed a pound from last week's screw up. That much closer to the 180's! (again)!
|
That's awesome nicolejoy! congrats on the loss!
We really can't afford the trainer, but the gym I belong to let me have a flexible payment plan. I haven't worked in over a year and a half, so we are pinching in a little on some things. But really, I've found we were spending a lot of money on diet unfriendly things. Dinners out (I invite friends over more now rather than meet out), movie popcorn and sodas, snacks when we were going out on errands, so I'm hoping it will all balance out in the end. |
Hey. Chickies! I'm declaring myself a part of your group. I saw 199.8 on the scale this morning and although it isn't an "official" weight (those are my Tuesday morning weights) I figure it qualifies me to join you.
I hope my duration is brief, but in reality it'll probably take me about a month and a half to get out of here! |
Hey ladies! I'm here!
:carrot: Lets do this so we can all migrate to the 180's thread!:D |
Way to go Parkedout!!! WOO HOO!!:carrot: :bravo: :cp:
|
Thanks sha!
And Rebound, I think its going to take me a bit too! Maybe we can both energize the other into a quicker trip into the 180's!:D |
