Tech - glad to hear from you again. ~ Hopefully you do have just a water gain. I'm tired of this roller coaster - we've got to get off! ~ I love that quote - glad you enjoyed it!
RR - Enjoy the Florida trip!
Jul - oh no on the crockpot! Nice to visit with your friends!
gotta run make brunch! Have a super day everyone & let's all have a successful week!
I have been awful about getting here to this board and posting. I am making a commitment to do so!
It is time to kick things back in gear. I am 1 lb down from before our vacation in late May early June. It is time to get things moving again. Being here helps to keep me motivated and doing the right thing.
RR & Lauren, I went to a baby shower yesterday and thought of the two of you. She got such cute things. I am glad you are both doing well.
Good Morning !!!!!

Take care all!!Enjoy the rest of the weekend!!!!
RR
Well, after a really busy day yesterday, our party was a success!! I'm soo happy that everything went soo well. Everyone showed up and had a great time. It was overcast most of the day, but the sun came out a few times and it was a good temperature that we weren't sweating or cold. OK, Gran was cold, but she's always cold!! My niece and nephew spent a good part of the afternoon in the pool...they're such water rats. Our friend's son also was in the pool a lot...he really came out of his shell. The other kids are just a little too young to be in there by themselves. The parents were around the outside of the pool, but they didn't want to go in. Being 12' diameter, if one of the younger ones went in, and something happened, an adult wouldn't be able to reach from the outside. We had a volley ball net up and all the cousins/friends got a volleyball game going. My mom bought this blow up volleyball net for the kids, but all they wanted to do was play on the ends, like they were bouncy toys!! Overall it was great fun, and we had tons of food.
I did pretty good on food though, I think. DH made his famous turkey burgers, and my mouth was watering for one, but I ended up eating barely half of one because it just didn't taste good to me. Had a hot dog later, a small spoonful of german potato salad, a deviled egg, half a corn cob, and then the desserts...didn't do too good there. Had a small pc. of icecream cake, of course, then a little chunk of this disgustingly sweet thing my friend made, none of us liked it, she tossed it, and a pc of cheesecake from BJ's. It could've been worse...
Nanci- Nice to see you. My two SIL's were asking me if I've looked at stuff and am I thinking about registering yet, so I'm sure they'll be on the phone planning a shower. I told them that even though normal showers are a couple months before the baby's born, anytime after we find out the sex is fine with me, because I don't know how long I can hold our buying stuff!!
Rabbit- Sorry about the gain, you sound very motivated to get back on track though!!
Tech- Good to see you, hope the PMS goes away soon!
RR- I hope I have a girl so I can dress her in all the cute frilly little outfits!! I love little girls dresses!!
Jul- Oh, what a mess!! Just thinking of the cleanup makes me cringe!! Luckily I had enough people to help me clean up as I went yesterday!!
We're off to have dinner at Mom's. Then I have to come home and figure out where I put all my work clothes!! Have a great day all!
Hello everyone! Sheesh, I haven't been able to post as much as I would have liked the past week. I had a week from **** at work last week....long hours plus my long commute. YUCK! Was totally wiped out by the end of that. Add to that the stress of car problems and trying to sell my house and I was a basket case!!! I did pretty poorly with food last week and I didn't exercise at all. In fact, when I went to my meeting with my Jenny Craig counselor, I asked not to be weighed. I knew it would be bad news and was afraid if I saw the actual damage it would discourage me too much. So, instead we just talked about my bad week and I am remotivated to do much better this week. I really need to get back on track with the exercise too. I want to do my yoga tape tonight before I go to bed. It is so invigorating and relaxing at the same time! Anyone ever tried it??
Well, I'm gonna try to make more time to come out here and post and read the other posts. You girls seem like a neat bunch and I want to get to know you better! Well, off to do some yardwork in the hot Texas sun!
Talking about sun!
Went to the beach as I said and ended up not swimming on Sat because of thunder storms (!) and really bad rain, and Sunday only for two hours because of the same thing...
had a real nice time though, with my sister and me going out until 04.00 (heh heh) and giggling away like little kids.
I am on very good track with the gym and everything, i even do my exercizes and swimming at home when I can't go to the gym, and I seem to be losing cm's (Inches) but the weight is not going down, really. Am also feeling bloated because of PMS, so rabbit, you're ot the only one, hang in there.
Dear BF is having his 30tieth BD tomorrow but I am in dubio i I should make him a cake. He forgot my birthday (remembered 22.00 in the evening) so a gift is out of the question anyway (matter of principle).
Am also having PMS and, looking at you guys (PG and with Kids) I would wish I had some of my own and a great hubbie to go with them. (REAL bad PMS, do you notice?)
Also read the most touching book I read in a very long time: Captain Corelli's Mandolin (forget the film, the book is SOOOO much better). I you need to get away into a real love story, try this one.
When I got home, DBF had cleaned ALL the house (he always does this when he feels guilty), but there is a lot of tension I have to let out one of these days in a GOOD TALK (Yech)(his job, my job, money, we never go out any more, nagnagnag, you know the drill). As we say here, PATIENCE, things WILL be better (we say this a lot).
Lauren, you did fine on the party! It's always difficult to keep yourself from eating all in sight when partying. Get back on track and you'll be fine.
Debbie, just try to relax at night and keep going. We all have some drawbacks now and then (look above). Don't let it get you down.
Hi Debbie, Nice to have you back and OK on the loss! Do keep coming!
Time to go home, have to cook (chicken!)
God loves every single one of us, so we should, too!!
GreekGirl - Try not to be too discouraged that the scale isn't going down. If you are losing inches, then that means you are getting smaller and that is what is really important, not a number on a scale. Sorry you are having problems with your boyfriend. Relationships are hard, that is for sure. Even so, I wish I had one!!!
Rabbit - It's funny how we all have our weak times of day. So many have problems with snacking at night. I find it easy to stay on track at home, it's when I am work that I do my snacking. I think it's the stress coupled with the fact that there is candy on almost every desk in that place!!!! Guess we all just have to figure out how to get through it.
As for me, I am still struggling a bit but not doing as badly as last week. Haven't been to the gym yet, but did do some yardwork yesterday. Tomorrow I really need to get my 30 minutes on the elliptical in!!! YOu know, now that I am talking about it, I guess I could log off and do my yoga tape. That always makes me feel really good and when I am done I will be relaxed and ready for a good night's sleep! Yes, I think that is what I am going to do!
Good Morning!!!We are heading out until SUnday night soo I wanted to stop in quickly and say hello!!!Cant wait to get away from work for the rest of the week!!!!!Got all packed!!!Thank GOodness I chose that Durango!!!!
Debbie--Glad U made it back!!!I swear I will start the Elliptical when I am back from vacation!!!They say excercise makes labor easier soo I am all for it!!Wow..this Wed I am half way there!!!!
GG-U must stay at the beach!!!I wouldnt be surprised if I saw U in Florida this week!!!! Happy B-Day...Mine is next week but I am not celebrating!!!Reminds me I am old and having my first baby!!!!
Lauren-Hate to say it..But get ready for these blasted leg cramps..Poor DH, he rubs that stretch cream on my belly, boobie cream on the stretching boobies, massages my lower back, brushed my hair..puts up with me positioning myself in bed over and over, laughs when the baby acts like a scene from X-Files and makes my stomach shift around then wakes up with me crying with my calves and has to rub them..!!!!He is such a Saint!!!
It's soo hot here....the A/C isn't working at work and it's 85 degrees in the office!! If we didn't have a class going, I'd go home.
I was reading on babycenter what the baby is doing this week to DH, and they said that now if you shine a flashlight at your belly, the baby will move away from the light. So now DH shines the flashlight on my belly everyday trying to get Cletus to move!! He's such a crackhead...but I guess that's why I love him!
RR- I'm hoping I'm blessed with not getting the leg cramps! I don't get them normally, so here's to wishful thinking!! The trying to get comfy all night is really annoying though. Have a great time at the beach!! I meant to ask you how the Durango is, how long have you had it now? I drove one a while back and I liked it. It's between that and the Toyota Highlander...I know, complete opposites!! I can't afford either right now, but when I can, it'll be one of them.
Debbie- So, did you do the yoga tape? Hey, yardwork is a lot of exercise!! Good luck staying on track!!
Rabbit- Hang in there, hope you've got the night time munchies under control!!
Well, it feels like the A/C has started to come back up here...Thanks God!! Have a great day all!!
I can't believe I'm leaving again this weekend. This has been a busy month for me. I really want to do well while I am gone.
Debbie - it would be tough to have that candy around all the time. I'm always best if I never get started. ~ Hope you enjoyed the yoga tape. I haven't been able to make my class for a few weeks & I miss it.
RR - HAVE FUN!
Lauren - glad that ac is back on for you! ~ I have been staying op with my nighttime eating. It's just such a habit to eat at night - I really should break it. I'm sure I'm not hungry, I just want to eat. Sigh.
Howdy, I'm an on-again, off-again lurker around here for 2 or 3 years by this point. Anyway, I've been logging food over on the diary pages for the past few weeks, and thought I'd poke my head in here.
Work's a drag, and I'm blah in general, so... things are going, I suppose. It's just two months until my vacation for the year, though -- two weeks in Japan! I'm going to Tokyo for a week, and Kyoto for a week. Just yesterday I ordered three guide books, more than I could ever need I'm sure. It's a 14.5 hour plane ride! That's crazy. Anyway, I'm in Tokyo for a month by myself, then a guy from work is joining me for the week in Kyoto. We're just friends, we tried to get more people from work to come too, but everybody was busy or didn't want to go. Though, I have to say, it was sort of amusing the day I came into the office and shouted excitedly: "Terry, I found a good cheap hotel for us!" Got a few looks on that one...
So, anyway, I'm just rambling because I'm up too early. Has anyone done the Avon Three Day Breast Cancer Walk? I'm thinking of that next May, and will probably end up doing it, though I'm woefully out of shape and very overweight at the moment. Hey, it's 9 months away, should be plenty of time to get in shape (I hope), and though I'll certainly still be a good 40 or so pounds overweight by then, I'm thinking it shouldn't matter as long as I'm fit. Unfortunately, I haven't actually done any walking as exercise yet, which seems a pretty crucial part of the whole '3 Day Walk' event. It's been so hot, I've just been inside on the exercise bike.
Well, my house is finally almost in order. Just a few things to be done. Well, I'm sure there's actually lots to be done but at least the place looks okay. I've been checking in here all the time but I just haven't had time to post. I just updated my Labour Day Goals post (although I seem to be the only one doing that!!) and I'm down another 1/2 pound. I was pretty excited about that because I had a big loss last week and was just happy not to have a gain. I'm not sure what I'm suddenly doing different lately since I plateaued for so long but I have been drinking more water and counting EVERYTHING. I had a bite of cheesecake yesterday and counted it as a point. Maybe that helps. Not really sure but not complaining.
Scuttle - nice to see you back here. I've heard of people doing the 3-day walk - it's a great thing to do but from what I've heard it's really hard, even for people who walk a lot and train. But that shouldn't stop you from preparing and giving it a try. I understand they have lots of volunteers to help you if you have trouble there so go for it!!
Rabbit - it's sooo hard for me to be good when I'm away but you can do it - just count your points and get a little exercise if you can. And drink lots of water!
Lauren - hope the A/C is working again. It's also been soooo hot this year here too. With the humidity, it's like 110 or more - yuck.
GG - thanks for the book recommendation - I'm always looking for something to read. And don't worry too much about the scale - as I said I plateaued for a long time but people would still ask me if I was losing weight so something had to be changing!
Hi to everyone I've missed - off to do some work...
Just a checkin before I head off to run errands & then the pool for the day! I've got a crazy week, getting ready to leave again & also having a garage sale w/friends over the next couple of days. but this is my last Wednesday pool day & I haven't been for 3 weeks (opening a store & babysitting) so I'm fitting in into my schedule - even if I have to stay up all night doing laundry!
Scuttle - COOL that you are going to Japan! Enjoy! ~ The walk sounds like a good thing to do, I'm not familiar with it.
Elisa - woohoo on the 1/2 pound loss!! I have my first weigh in tomorrow and will be updating my stats on the LD goal. ~ Last time I did fine when I was away, I'm just planning to build on that success.
