GOOD MORNING ALL!!

Well, the power of prayer works!! Little Gracie was gravely ill yesterday, and as of this AM she is sitting up and on her way ot healing. The docs are gonna give her the weekend to rest and on Tues. are going to put her under anesthesia to give her an endoscopy and colonoscopy to find out where her bleeding is coming from. Anyway, she's not out of the woods yet, but MUCH BETTER than she was yesterday. Thank you all so much for your thoughts & prayers!!

Alicia...I am SO GLAD to hear how great Spencer is doing!!! I know he had a rough time when you guys moved...hope you are able to stay there!! Have fun being the "proud mama" today!!

Lisa..Hey girl!! How's work been?? HOpe you are able to take some time for yourself. Are you still liking the job??

Trish...running in the rain, eh? Good for you!! I know it's a drag to do a workout when you don't feel like it, but it's so awesome when you're done, right?? I have been doing two miles every other day on the treadmill...walk 2/10, jogging 1 mile, walking 2/10, joggin 1/2 mile, then walking the last 1/10. My goal is to be jogging the full two miles by May. I've really been loving it!!

Patricia...it's nice that in the midst of a crappy day, you had a patient's owner hug you and thank you. That's what it's all about, right? Good for you!! BTW...how's the back pain??

Christina..A LAPTOP!! NICE!!! You are one lucky chica to have a boss like that, but then I'm sure that you must be one great employee as well

Off to start laundry...just a few errands today & some cleaning...nothing spectacular.

Hope everyone has a great day!!

Mornin' Pama~lama~ding~dong:-)! I am so happy to hear that Gracie is doing better today. How many surgeries has this little one already had? Keep us posted. Prayers will continue to be said...

Trish ~ your posts really crack me up. You have a wicked sense of humor and I loved your talking about going to the gyno for the first time. I'm originally from a teeny tiny town too and my graduating class was 38.

Alicia ~ That is just great news! Both of your kids weren't wanting to move and I remember how much you liked your old school. Spencer sounds like he is doing fantastic. Is he still playing soccer?

GG ~ You are one seriously hard working girl... One good client is worth 20 bad ones. Any days off coming up in the very near future?

Christina ~ Wow! What a fantastic boss you must have! Very generous. It's obvious that you really care about what you do and you are always going in and working on the weekends as well. Glad to hear that you have a boss that really appreciates you. I'm still on the fence about WW. I just don't want to spend the $$$. I just ordered some new spring clothes from Lands' End and LL Bean. I figured that I'd rather spend money on clothes vs. WW. I'm so much more active than I used to be and when this RAIN finally stops I'll be outside more. I can't see a difference on the scale but I can feel it in my clothes. Sure should be as much mileage as I do on that bike.

Lauren ~ how are you Sugar? How are those boys doing? Sleeping all night in their beds yet?

Lisa ~ Hi 'ya! How far are you from Athens? DH has lots of family in that area.

Delta ~ Is Tai's birthday on Saturday? Liam's 10th birthday is on Monday. Your having a crowd of 35 for his birthday makes me remember Liam's 2nd birthday. I invited my entire family and we had a huge crowd. I'm the youngest of 12 so you can imagine. I'd planned on having it in the backyard but it rained non-stop so we had all of those people in our teeny tiny house. Last time that I did a party that size...

I am *so* looking forward to tomorrow. My best friend and I are going out for the day to celebrate our birthdays (hers was in March and mine is in April). Pedicure scheduled for 11:30, then lunch and then shopping:-). There are tons of garage sales around here tomorrow so the plan is to get up early and hit those before we meet. One of the area churches has a huge children's garage sale every spring and fall and I got loads of good clothes for next to nothing at the fall one. So, should be a fun weekend. Just need to make it thru today first... Lots going on today and tonight is the spring party at the school. I'm on the committee and need to be at the school in 15 minutes so better run. TGIF ~ Joan

Hi..I am new here and thought that I would just jump right in
I am 36 years old and would like to lose about 25 lbs. I exercise at the gym 5 days a week and at home (walking) the other 2.

I am a mom of 2 kids, a boy (13) and a girl (3-soon to be 4).

I recently underwent a TAH (Total Abdominal Hysterectomy) 4 months ago and put on a TON of weight from being sick for a year prior to my surgery. I was on insane BCP doses. At one point taking 4 a day. If you think that taking 1 a day causes weight gain and bloating, can you imagine what 4 a day does
I went from 155lbs to 192lbs in less than a year. I had severe endometriosis and frequent ovarian cysts as well as a history of cervical cancer. I am not sure if there are any other girls that can relate but if anyone ever needs advice on this..I became somewhat of an expert
My surgery was Nov 28th and I weighed 192 lbs the day of surgery. I dropped weight quickly after surgery, then got stuck at 184 lbs. I recently started Slim Fast 2 weeks ago and have dropped 6 lbs.

I am LOVING my Slim Fast diet. I have been at WW for years but I find this much simpler and so convenient. I go to the gym every day at lunch so having a shake for lunch at my desk really works for me.

So that's me in a nut shell...

I don't know why I say TGIF, I'm home everyday, Friday just means that I have to spend the next 2 days with 6 more people in the house 24 hrs a day who are crazier than I am. Well, its raining again today. Shocking yes, I know. I do have a bright spot in what would otherwise be yet another bleak and drippy day. I get to go to lunch with my posse. Just a few of us going to check out a new restaurant up the road, I'll keep it healthy if I can. I'm working on sealing my tile floor today, not an ideal task for a woman with a bad back and two torn up knees. I'm willing to sacrifice my body though for the greater good, namely that my DH will shut his piehole about it, hence ending my urge to kick him squarely in the ding ding. I love when I get this kind of attitude, I take on my Wonder Woman personna and awaaaay we go.

Hey Skinny, glad you could join us. My only concern for you on the Slimfast is that its not real food, but if you didn't have any trouble with your weight before then you may not have once you get off those extra pounds. Good luck!

Joan, one of 12 huh? And I thought I was nuts for having 5. Times were different then though. Good for you and the gal pal getting away for a few hours. I can't wait to go do some yard sales but if it doesn't quit raining that probably won't happen.

Pam, I really do love to run, its time alone, quiet time. I am able to release stress and find clarity when I get to go out and run through the countryside, but in the rain doesn't really do much for me.

Gotta go, time to pick up Lil Sis, have a great day. Trish

I know what you mean about SF not being real food. I really am using it to get to the weight that I want to be at. I don't usually have a problem maintaining. The only time I have gained weight has to do with my "parts"...(having babies and my crazy endo/cyst problems)...well my "parts" are gone so once I get to where I want to be..it will be *happy dance* time!!
It's nice to be PAIN FREE for the first time in a year

I was always against the shake type diets but they really are convenient and keep me quite satisfied...now I know why people like them.

Mornin everyone,

Pam, glad to hear Gracie is doing better. Maybe I missed it or forgot (more probable), what is her illness?

Joan, sounds like a fun weekend! I need a pedicure severly :-). Yeah Spencer is still playing soccer, he really enjoys it. Unlike DD, he hasn't made and friends outside of school, so the soccer is good for him socially too.

Skinny Magee, welcome! We used to have someone else up here, also from Canada who was on SF. I looked up the website and did get some good recipes from there.

Christina, a new computer, how great! Is it for office use or can you take it home too? I remember how your old boss was, this one seems so much better, makes a big difference!

Trish, what is it about April Showers? Also still raining and dreary here.

GG and Lisa, sorry about all the crazies! Hope you ladies get a break soon.

I went to the awards assembly and Spencer received 3 awards. The honor roll, a terrific kids award and another one that was given out by the Buffalo Club? Or something like that. I wish I had a camera with me!

I have not exercised much this week at all with the weather and all. I did eat better though. I threw on some pants yesterday though I dont usually wear. Oddly they were not tight at all as I remember. But I don't know how that would be possible with the weight I gained.

I better go, stop rambling on and on. Hope everyone has a great Friday!

Good afternoon ladies. We've been running around today getting Alex ready for Tball. He needed his own bat and new sneakers. The coach dropped off his uniform last night and OMGoodness. It's a medium and he needs a small. Or an extra small. I got some elastic I'm going to try to fix the pants. He's going to look like a clown and may even flash the crowd!

We are supposed to have a garage sale tomorrow, but the forcast is rain, rain, rain and cold. I'm not sure how it's going to go.

Gotta go take care of a stinky girly. I'll try to check back later! Ciao!

Hello!

I have been busy cleaning! Didn't get a chance to get on until DS went down for a nap.

Pam - we are having an Elmo party. We are getting a cake in the shape of Elmo's head that is made out of cupcakes.
Joan - I have already decided that next year's party will be much smaller! A lot of family has not seen our new house, so we kind of looked at it as killing two birds with one stone. Is Liam having a party with friends?

Have a great day everyone! I am off to clean some more...

SkinnyMa... Welcome! I am also pretty new here too and I am trying to get to know everyone. Sorry that you have had such a rough couple of years but I am glad that things seem to be behind you and now you can focus on getting healthy again. I actually LOVE the slim fast shakes, but as a diet I cant do it...I love my food! :lol But I wish you all the luck with it.

Like I said above...that is the reason I could not do it as a way of life. Just make sure you are getting enough so your body doesn't go into starvation mode.

Alicia...Way to go on looser pants!! Even when the scale doesn't reflect what we are doing, our body has a way of telling us that we are doing something right! Good for you for eating well this week. Congratulations to Spencer (your son?) for the awards!!! That is fanfreakintastic!!!

Karen---Sorry the weather is not going to cooperate for your sale. That sucks.

So, yesterday I went to the mall. My rings have been so loose and I wanted to find out what size they are, and what size I should be wearing. So, she sized me and said I am a size 6 (finger not waist LOL) and my rings are a size 8 so no wonder they have been flinging off!! I can't afford to have them resized right now (40$ each) so I bought one of those ring guards for 7$. Also, I want to wait till I am done losing before resizing them.

I went to the gym this morning and saw a lady from my church there. She is a personal trainer and she did a bunch of exercises with me and said she will help me whenever I want so that was really nice, cant beat free personal training!

My kids are watching the Letter Factory...LOVE that movie...ahhh nice to have some quiet time!! But I do have some things I need to get done, so have a great day everyone!!

Good afternoon everyone! I have been kind of dragging around this morning. I decided to enjoy a few glasses of wine with some of my neighbors last night, but I think I enjoyed too much! So I got my girls off to school, took care of our neighbors dog and cat (can't wait til they get home tomorrow!) and then laid down to take a 2 hour nap. Woke up just in time to pick up the twins from kindergarten. I did manage to go over to give our neighbors dog a bath, cleaned their bathroom and swept the floors, ran the dishwasher... Just thought it would be nice for them to not have to worry about little things like that just coming home from their honeymoon! Now so I don't have dh getting irritated with me, I better do some cleaning around our house!
Pam, so glad to hear about Gracie! Please keep us updated when you know more!
Joan, That sounds like you have a fun day planned tomorrow! I sure could use a day out like that! I just may have to plan some time for me in the near future! I am starting to get to that " i need a break real bad!" point!
Skinny, welcome!!! I think you'll love this group!
Trish LOL thanks for the laugh! Love your sense of humor towards the dh! Do be careful and don't hurt yourself doing that work tho!
Alicia! Way to go Spencer huh? You must be so proud! I haven't been good with the workouts this week, kinda got on the down and outs about the scale not moving in two weeks and decided to be a bit lazy. I did get in two work outs, monday and wednesday tho!
Karen, are the boys gonna be able to have a practice before the first game? My oldest dd tried t-ball once. It didn't end up being her thing! But i remember they weren't able to get a practice in before their first scheduled game and it was quite comical wathcing them out there! Take some pics!!
Mom, that is way cool about getting the help of the pt friend for free! I wish I knew someone who would do the same for me, just give me some pointers and such to set me in the right direction! I wish my rings would losen up on me! with the weather heating up, my fingers swell and half the time i can't even get them off!

Well, need to go back across the street to move some stuff from the washer to the dryer and check on the dog. She hasn't been really eating the past two days and she has been vomitting and had diarrhea... oh joy!
Have a good day!!!

hey all...

Alicia...Gracie was born with something called heterotaxy syndrome. Basically she has several congenital heart defects. She has had three surgeries, and is expected to have 2-3 more befores she turns 5. She is 15 months old, and has been in & out of the hosp. so much because whenever she gets sick, even just a cold, her body can't fight it. Anyway, she is a happy, sweet little girl with a stinky heart...but they will fix that!! And then they say that as long as she can get past all that stuff, learn how to eat, etc, she will be like any other kid!! It was very scary yesterday because she had been doing SO WELL...anyway she will have a few tests next week to see what the problem is, but for now she is stabilized Anyway, I can't believe you didn't have your camera!! Don't you hate that?? I'm glad he did so well. Hope he loves soccer!!

Joan...Oh my goodness, that sounds like such a fun day tomorrow!!! I hope you find some good deals!! My gf does a sale like that...she gets about 200 famlies and they consign at a church for a weekend. I find so much stuff there. She had it last week, it was the first time I hadn't participated because I have been too busy to get my stuff together to sell. NOrmally I make aobut 200.00 selling the kids clotehs, shoes & toys, but then wind up spending it all. Oh, well. Probably best I didn't do it this time. Oooh, and a pedicure and luch to boot!!! Lucky you

Welcome, Skinny!! My mom had a TAH when she was 34...hey, at least you won't have any more periods, right?? I think it's great that you're working so hard. I tried slimfast before, but I like food too much!! Although it's been along tim since I did it. It would probably be a great breakfast, as it seems I''m always shoving down my Special K in a hurry, lol. You will find great friends and support here!! Glad to have you!

Karen, having done Teeball about 4 years ago, I can assure you that your son will not be the only one wearing a HUGE uniform. Teeball is so cute. The funniest thing to me was all these boys in the field hitting themselves in the "cup"...it's like they were amazed at how hard they could hit it!! They ALL did it..too funny!!! Hope you get your yard sale in. It's been raining all day here & is supposed to tomorrow as well.

Dawn...I LOVE CUPCAKE CAKES...I will be making a Spongebob one for Frankie's birthday next month. HOpe the party goes well!!

Mom..good for you on the workout. Cadence's preschool teacher told me about Letter Factory...I really need to check it out. Maybe I'll hit target this weekend...(uh-oh) haha

Steph...what a great neighbor you are!! I had a mom's night like that about a year ago. We went out for drinks, and I took Cady to school, came home & slept til it was time to pick her up. felt like such a loser...but I wasn't the only one (hehe). Anyway, I hope the dog didn't make too much of a mess for you!! Tell me again when you guys are going to Honduras??

Okay, ladies...Frankie should be getting home any minute. He & I are going to school for a family bingo night. Frank & Cady are having a date at Dairy Queen...she is so excited. They go a few times during the summer, this is the first trip of the year. Tomorrow Cadence has a birthday party in the afternoon, and Sunday she has her first soccer "game". It's more like just getting comfortable with the ball. Should be fun!!

Well, I'm off to check the laundry. Have a super night, all!!

evening all...hope everyone is well..pam glad to hear gracie is okay for now. My dh has a niece that has had a lot of problems since she was young...she was born with an incomplete colon/rectum. Poor thing has been in and out of hospitals multiple times and has had several surgeries. Hope things get better for gracie.

hey to everyone else.
As for me....i have the weekend off...so that's nice. Its the first full weekend on a while. I'm definately going to relax some. Work was ok today. The new office manager (that's helping from another banfield) is trying to make some changes to help improve the clinic and make my work less stress...but already....alot of the petnurses are starting to whine about the changes. I told them they need to give it a try. Because what we've had for sooo long just isn't working. I think its working for them..but that's because they really aren't doing all they are suppose to. So of corse the changes are freaking them out and most of they are mad etc. But at this point, i keep reminding them that we can't keep going at this pace...or more specifically i can't keep doing this. We'll see what happens. Things should get better but i know they'll be rough at first.

alright guys...hope everyone is well..check back tomorrow
