Wink

Good Morning~

Ok slim here we go.

I went to thermopolis yesterday they have an awesome health food store. anyway the ladies there are so up on "natural" etc. They know I have struggled with my weight for several years, well yesterday there was another lady in there and I had asked about the stone people use instead of deoderant. So she started talking to me about this how it is better than the coconut oil because sometimes the oil will stain your clothes, etc, Anyway she gets on the subject of lymphnodes, well I start talking to her. She does a lymphnode massage, yeah! 90 min for 55.00 I couldn't make the appt. fast enough. The knowledge she had was remarkable. She told me to drink dandillion tea either hot which is best or cold. and when I walk she goes people will think your crazy but really swing your arms, Lymphnodes need muscle movement. She goes they will go down.

So girlies and guys we are talking about weight again and the owner goes Sheila there is a new item on the market but it is backordered for me she goes I have a friend who is doing it out in california It is called fucothin you can go to the website www. gardenoflife.com Now this pill is made from sea weed. It does not have stimpulants and all the other crap. anyway when I went on the website I was impressed. I am going to try some with my weight watchers.

Well going to be busy today my son is bringing his girl friend to supper tonight, should be interesting. Man this is different. She is a senior in HS and I like her but she is one of those girls who is down to earth but will put your butt in it's place politely. Anyway have a great weekend everyone.

GG: I read last nights posts and the coffee your talking about is it better than starbucks. I almost don't like starbucks anymore. I don't know I would rather drink MJB over starbucks.

Slim: I have a Krups espresso maker. I like it for me. I had never heard of this other brand the girlies are talking about GG & Hanna.

Hanna: Casino fun I don't do it often at all but do enjoy it. I just hate to see all the little old ladies in there spending all their money I know that will be my mom someday.

sheila - i really don't like starbucks anymore...as for the illy coffee...i love it. Part of starbucks problem is they always burn the coffee and/or milk. If you have a whole foods, fresh market or world bazar near you, you can find illy there to. BTW...watch some of the natural products. I know you want to lose weight but just because its "natural"..ie herb or seaweed...doesn't mean it won't have side effect. Manghu (sp?) is an all natural herb and people have had a lot of problems with that one. Just be cautions...since your natural remedies have no FDA regulations.

GG; Hey thanks for the tip my body reacts so quickly if I don't like something I will know it. I agree with you with burning the coffee thing that is what it is. My kitchen is in HOT CHERRY RED. I wanted a red espresso but could only find black.

Ok guys here is an issue I am dealing with............. I would appreciate any comments and suggestions you may have.

My DS is 17. Jr. in high school. Does not do drugs or drink. Which I am very lucky I know. He has mood swings from ****. They are not as bad as they used to be. I have hit the school hard about testing him for an IEP. He just is either having troubles or honestly doesn't care about school work. I found out he keeps skipping this one hour which is German. So I called the school and said what about pulling him out of that class? They told me if he wants out he has to change at semester or waf the class which means loose the credit.[wyo language}. I told them that was crap and that it is their job to help him out , I mean I know we as parents have to do our job but won't move him give me a break. He and his dad don't get along one of the main reasons is because they are so much alike. Let me tell you DS is not afraid to say how he feels to dad either. So he was telling me he was going to quit school. He is worthless, I have him in counseling and the counselor got us in I babysit for him so he works us in good. Anyway My dad and I both told chris let the fire burn with in you if your dad says you can't achieve something let that fire burn that much hotter and prove him wrong. Honestly I love that kid so damn much but I really don't think he will finish school and if that happens DH will kick him out. I could afford to slip him some $$ if that happens but it worries me, I feel like every decision is crutial at this point, am I doing the right thing? He has always been very bull headed and I tell ya they say girls are bad but boys are obvioulsy very hormonal too.

What he needs I think is his dad to take genuine time with him and let him know he loves him, not just once or twice a year that is what my mom did with us kids, my dad was the way I am every day you knew he loved you he would tell you.

Sorry to vent alot went on this week

I drink maxwell house at work, I feel so out of the loop. Is the espresso the coffee in small cups?

Shelia, I would think the school should let him change classes being so early in the year. But maybe it will be good for him to stay in it and not give up easily. Did he chose German? My 8 year old son is very moody also, I refer to him at times as Jekel and Hyde. The sweetest thing ever, then bam. LOL Just remind him DH loves him and just cant express it. You sound like you have a very sweet father. DS is lucky to have a Mom like you. When I was that age I didn't even think anyone liked me, the typical teen/parents not getting along (like you see on lifetime).

Okay well I'm cleaning house. DH's plane comes in at 11:30 pm. Yes I know its an awful time and the airport is 2 hrs away.

Hanna, have great weekend with the DH home all weekend.

Joan it is cool here like a fall weekend and I'm wishing we had a fire pit. Oh and the pumpkin beer. I love fall!

John, don't work to hard. Wish me luck I have to drive to BWI. Airports scare me!

GG, I am sore, but it feels kinda good. Enjoy the weekend.

Mo where are you today?

Talk to yall later!

hey everyone!...i feel like crap today!...i had my gallbladder removed in 03...ever since ihave had so many problems...my bile duct spasms and it hurts soooo bad and i get sick...i have had 3 surgeries for it and now no one will do anything else becasue i am at such a high risk for pancreatitis if anyone does anything...i work for gi dr's that do it but goodness...nothing is working!...so today it hurts..acutally since last night...it will go away probably by tomorrow...uuggghhh

sheila: i had a similar issue with dominic..he was recently stating he just wants to get his credits and take the exit exam (ca has an exit exam that you have to pass whether you get a diploma or not)..and then he was saying he would just go to school to be a barber....now, dont get me wrong..there is nothing wrong with being a barber but it is a far cry from the aspirations this kid had a year ago...soooo...his program let me take him for a coupel hours and we went to a guidance counselor at the junior college...they did testing for dominic and talked alot...dominic wants to ultimately be a sports agent (very difficult to get into)...so after everything the guidance counselor did we are getting dominics credits done and when he graduates highschool he wants to go to college to get his bachelors and then his masters in sports management...covers, agent, marketing, sports law...all kinds of things for a career in sports...so now in his program he is taking some general ed classes for college credit in addition to his highschool work...i guess what i am getting at is if you try to find a way to get him interested in whatever he is choosing to do with his future maybe it will get him back on track and give him a goal and some aspirations...and some self esteem to know that he can do anything he chooses to do...i dont know if any of this helped...but good luck with him....these teens are at a difficult age....good luck

hanna: glad you are having some good days..,.i hope sean is feeling better

What? Starbucks isn't good coffee??!!??!! BLASPHEMY! I'm starting to worry about you girls... I am a *huge* Starbucks fan. The stuff is too expensive but I love it. Sometimes the aftertaste is just as good as the taste. Just like a really good red wine. My expresso machine is a Krups also. Works fine for me but I'd sure like to have the kind GatorGal is talking about...

Big John ~ you work way too hard. Is there ever a slow time in your line of work?

Sheila ~ I second what GG has to say about "natural" products. We considered going down that route with DS. My chiropractor (as well as his occupational therapist) was filling my ears with "cures" for Autism. I talked to Liam's pediatrician before doing anything as his doctor is a very reasonable, highly respected doctor and he told me to "be cautious." You can smack a "natural" label on anything and people just assume that it's good for you. There are no regulations regarding this stuff and it's always costly. This same chiropractor had a conversation similiar to the one that you were talking about regarding my weight... again, be cautious.

Sheila ~ I thought that your DS had an IEP for depression? Did DS pick German? If he did then I'd probably make him stick with it. I'd shudder at the thought of him quitting school but there is very little that you can do about it. His new girlfriend might be where you need to turn to. She will have far more influence over him than anyone else. You're such a good mom and I know that it's gotta kill you when you see self destruction right before your eyes. Man, I am so *NOT* looking forward to teenage years...

Alicia ~ are you taking the kids with you to the airport? You've been in my thoughts this morning... Hang in there. I know that you're nervous about seeing DH but BE STRONG and start off with a HUGE hug.

The temperature dropped last night to the mid-forties. Great sleeping weather. I woke up to the smell of DH's homemade cinnamon rolls in the oven... That man can do seriously sinful things with yeast;-). Speaking of yeast... the pumpkin beer is called, "Jack's Pumpkin Spice Ale." I don't drink beer much at all anymore but I love this stuff in the fall.

Time to get my long walk in. Sure do love that the weather has cooled off and I don't have to walk at the break of dawn. Hope that everyone has a fabulous September weekend.

BTW ~ where is Laurie? Haven't heard from you in a few days. I hope that all is well with you. When is Sophie's appointment?

Hi Christina ~ your note came thru right as I was posting mine. I had my gall bladder taken out in the spring of 2003 also. Sorry to hear that you're still having problems. I've never had a problem since surgery. I've read about people having a "leaky gut." Sounds so gross... do certain foods trigger a reaction?

Joan,

I have been reading- just not posting. What is going on is too difficult to even talk about. All summed up, Sophie is leaving us. I cant even type or talk about it. Spent every day crying all day and into night. My eyes are red and look infected from all of this. I cant say much about it. Just here. Seeing you are all doing well. Keeping connected a little.

hi everyone!

GG enjoy the weekend with dh!

John sorry had to go to work so early, that sux!

Christina it is good to see you, sorry you are having health issues.

Joan I stop at Starbuck regularly now but not for espresso but for their chai late, it is the best around!

Laurie my heart goes out to you, I am here if you need to talk

Alicia have nice relaxing day, be careful driving at night. I hope dh gets home ok

Sheila I agree with Joan it is a great idea to get to your son through his girlfriend. I hate the school system, I don't know why they have to make it so difficult for the kids, if he doesn't like German let him pick something else. I think the school are only worried about scores and they forget about what is best for the kids as individuals, I would call and immediate IEP. I am not sure I would let him not finish school, maybe taking a break would be a good idea (for one school term) try for dh to spend some time w/ds doing "man" things. sounds to me like they need that time together. As far as the natural medicine I would be very caution just like Gg and Joan said, they are not regulated and they are not always safe. Be careful!

I am not too happy right now, DH was suppose to be home all weekend, and he left this morning to go to work he said he would be back in less than 2 hours, it has been 3 grrrrrrrrr! I wanted to go to the home and garden show in Del Mar, I want to go get kettle corn! Iam soooo bad... LOL. I got to go, Sean is throwing things around the house, he is one of those moods again I want to just cry!
see you all later!

Hanna

Laurie, that is so awful. I thought about you to and how you have been mia. I don't know what you are going through, but can only imagine. I will keep your family in my thoughts/prayers especially little Sophie.

Joan, I just knew you were going to tease us with that hubby of yours. The yeast, thats pretty funny. DS wants to spend the night with a friend. DD, well all her friends are busy so she will probably go with.

Christina, that sounds just awful. How often does it "act up"? Or cause you this pain. Feel better soon.

John, I don't think I'm coming on the 495, it says I70 to 695 then 95. I don't know, I've never been there.

Okay all, back to finish cleaning.

Joan- yes I have slow days they call them vaction days and for some reason my phone dies out on those days as well. But really I've just been busy cause we pick up new lots and we'll be coming to the end of the ficiscal year here shortly so people are trying to burn up thier budgets lol. Then the snow will come (hopefully) I hate it and the hours but damn I love them paychecks. It will then slow down again around march and may a lil we'll have a 2 week dead spot in july just cause so many will be on vaction. An we're slow few days round thanksgiving,Xmas, and new years.

Alicia- You'll be fine cause your coming in from my neck of the woods. (I'm on the carroll/balt county line. You shouldn't run into much traffic it at all. When you hit 695 your 20mins from the airport. PM me and I'll give you my cell # if you in case you do have problems.

Laurie-

Hanna- More then likely he didn't want to go to the show :P

Sheila- I changed what I was going to do for a living 7 time my senior year of High school and I still haven't figure out what I'm going to do either . as for the dad/son thing. No much you can to do but be willing to pick up the pieces. As much as I love my dad we didn't see eye to eye from the time I was was 17 till 20.

Woot I can go home now!!
