Default 30 something TGIF - Fri June 15

Morning all...well i guess i'll start the thread today. Nothing major to report. I did get off work later than i wanted last night (7.15). And since the weather was absolutely perfect, I decided to go ride my horse. It was a beautiful night and a great ride. I will definately miss my pony when he goes to live with my sister for a while...but at least i know he will be well taken care of and i will be able to see him when ever i want. Other than than...got to make it through 2 more days of work (i work Sat also) then i at least have Sunday off. I'm definately going to sleep in then. Hope everyone is well..i'll check back later.

Mornin' All!

Sherry, My kids think sleeping in on the weekend is 7:30!! I used to be such a night owl...the good old days!

GG, Hope you have an easy, steady flow day!

Looks like things may be tanking with the house. They decided to inform us yesterday that they made a mistake on the seller's disclosure and instead of the roof not leaking, it in fact leaks everytime it rains hard! And the fridge they're including is the old one in the basement. So now we wonder what else they're hiding. So I just told the attorney to tell them they can have 90 days, but they must fix the roof within that time, or the deal is off. After much mortgage ado, I also applied with a Bank of America, who is having a special no fees right now, saves a quite a bit a month, and off closing. Sigh...so close, yet soo far away...

Hi everyone.

Thought I'd better post something so that people know I'm NOT in a blue funk. Despite the fact that my weight is up (), I still feel pretty up beat. (Don't ask. I've given up trying to understand.) The reason I haven't been posting is that I'm crazy busy. Probably said this a gazillion times, but I'll say it again: I'm writing an (IT Security) Certification exam, part II this weekend. I spent 6 hours last Saturday writing practice exams and then, finally, the real thing. I suspect tomorrow will be the same plan. I _am_ worried about things, but I'm trying not to panic. (Fear is the mind-killer. Anyone know where that quote comes from? I do. ) Anyway, I'm sure I'll be fine.

Sunday, we have some friends spending 1 night with us as they're traveling home. They're traveling with a 3 or 4 month old, so it should be suitably chaotic for the cats. It'll be interesting to have a kid around - as I'm getting older, I like being around them. Almost feels like I'm nesting or something.

Next week, I'll be VERY focused on getting some rudimentary structure to my upcoming trip.....so I'm kinda busy these days.

Unhappy

Morning all...tried posting yesterday but it somehow got lost in the great internet abyss. I'm spending this morning being rather perplexed and seriously disgusted. I hopped on the scales yesterday morning to find it had gone from 175 to 173 Yesterday, not only did I eat well but my usual one mile walk become a 3 mile walk when I added my new Leslie Sansone Walk Slim DVD.

I got on the scales this morning and it's back at 175! I did absolutely nothing yesterday to justify a 2 lb weight gain. I've been working my backside off for the 2lb weight loss I had yesterday.

So, I'm pretty bummed and trying not to let feeling down dictate how I eat today. Cause trust me I could really get after some serious comfort food right now. But I know I'll just be more upset when I see the scales tomorrow if I do that. I'm also trying not to swing too far the other way and eat nothing today. Being diabetic, that's really not a good plan.

Well I'm off to dress DS and get my face on to do some grocery shopping with my mom for the big reunion. You all have a great day! I'll check in this evening.

Good morning all!
Roo it is great to see you! try not to stress a lot. And if I am not wrong it was F. Herbert who said it???? Fear is the mind killer

Lauren that sux! I hope you get it all resolved in a very friendly manner, could you ask for a credit and get a new fridge?

4me it is so difficult to tell why our body weight fluctuates so much even within the same day, it could be water retention, I think I mentioned this before I alway weigh between 1.5 and 3 Lbs. in the AM more than later in the afternoon. I know it is weird but that's just who I am. Don't get discouraged.

Hi GG !

Sherry my son never go the memo of what sleeping in means!

Hi Kanen about the vegetables, that doesnt' sound right. but it is good you are eating healthier!

hi everyone else!!!!

I have nothing new to report around here, just a busy morning and I am meeting we a friend for lunch, they just opened an Elephant Bar/Grill well they opened a new strip mall about 1 mile from my house, I went there with my family for DS's birthday and it was very good! great salads! I am looking forward to meet with her.

Have a great day!

I don't wanna brag, but my kids don't wake up untill after 9am. Of Course getting them to go to bed at night is a nightmare. Especially now that school is out. I haven't posted in a few days, after I posted about my grumpiness. To tell you the truth, I don't know what makes me so irritable. There's nothing other than everyday life. I try to walk in the evenings, doesn't really help with the grumpiness though. I never thought of taking a pill for it. I can't remember ever not being grumpy.
dek6-I would love to be 199lbs by my next birthday. I have a little longer than you though, my b-day is in Jan

hey all..i'm back...luckily work today was pleasant...steady but not insane. I was actually able to start catching up with my medical charts (still have a few more to do...but too brain dead to care LOL). So right now i'm just killing time...40 minutes left of the day and not any patients to be seen right now...keeping fingers crossed that i can just veg the remaining time til closing.
Lauren - sorry about the house situation...hopefully it will all be fix...hang in there.
4me - stop getting on the scale...your going to drive yourself batty...try weighing once a week...you can retain water etc.
roo - glad to see you posting again...good luck
alright...now i'm going to browse the web and do nothing creative or productive....YEAH ME LOL

Hey all.

Roo-I just wanted to say I love your "Avatar" avatar. Hubby and I are big fans of the show. Yes, adults watching cartoons. We're just a couple of big ol' kids. I really hope we never grow up!!!

GG~ You absolutely deserve some time to goof off and do nothing after having been so busy at work. ENJOY!!

Dek, LBH, JKLA~ I can totally feel your pain. My little man thinks 7am is sleeping in. It's almost 6:30 on the dot every AM!! I'm a teacher. It's summer. I'm SUPPOSED to sleep in!!! Nope. We now live on Wild Bill time in this house. Even the dogs groan about having to get up so early.

Here's wishing everyone a great weekend!!

Hmmm, I debated whether to post here now or wait 1/2 hour and start the weekend thread! LOL. I spent 1 1/2 hours preping all of the veggies today. Ugh. They were all dirty (and all leafy things) so they had to be soaked/rinsed and spun in the salad spinner. But they are ready to go when I need them for cooking. I'll be glad when they start giving us things other than leafy greens.

I tried a new recipe that can be made very low fat. Buffalo Chicken Dip. 2-3 shredded boneless/skinless chicken breasts, 1/2 bottle of Frank's Buffalo Wing sauce, 8 oz ff or lf cream cheese (or regular if you prefer), 4 oz ff or lf blue cheese dressing, lf cheese, shredded (whatever flavor you like best. I used mild cheddar.) Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Place chicken in the bottom of an oven proof dish. Cover with sauce. Melt cream cheese in saucepan and mix in dressing. Pour mixture over chicken. Top with cheese. Bake for 30 min. It is YUMMY. You can serve it with celery sticks or chips.

OK, DH is rushing me off the computer. Hope you all have a lovely weekend!
