Good Morning!!!
Mo--Hope U R still in bed!!! Wish I still was...REally tired by the time Thursday rolls around--but gotta get up and go!!!!
The only good part about the busy is the OT!!!
Hanna--Sounds like a delicious meal!!! I think the therapist will be great for the transition..I am paying over $100/week for speech so I think we do what we have to do for our kids....
Hellooooo to our male associates on the thread!! Roo--John and Ken
Good Morning Goddess, Karen, Lauren(ok--brain dead --wayyyy to early) and everyone else on the board!!!
Off to save lives today!!!!
RR
RR: Hey there!!! No, not still asleep! I have to be in here @ work by 0630 hours so I get up by about 0500 to make it here on time! BUT, I did take a nap last night from like 5:00 to 7:00 ish and then I slept most of the night from 9:00 until 5:00 am. So, getting better.
I'm sorry I haven't been able to catch up on the threads yet...
Hanna: That food sounds orgasmic!
Officially hit the 12 pound down mark this morning!!! Though my ticker said 12 pounds lost for over a week...it was more 11.5 and then 11 3/4..today it's really 12 pounds!!! I'm surprised since our Administrator bought us all pizza yesterday with salad and bakery bread on the side...and brownies too. The pizza was party-cut so the pieces were small and so were the bread slices and brownie slices. Basically, I was full after 1/2 of 1 slice of pizza and a 1/3 cup of salad w/one slice of bread...but I kept eating until I ate all that I took...because limiting my calories THAT much would have been silly. Of course, that was all the food I had for the day since I had splurged.....
Two more days of sleep and I'll be able to work out again!!!
I'm totally . I've fallen off the wagon a little since the weekend. I had some junk food over the weekend, but on Monday was still sitting 205. Then on Tuesday I made a big pasta dinner for DH complete with caesar salad and garlic cheese loaf. Normally when doing something like that I will have a measured portion of meat and sauce, whole wheat pasta instead of regular, a huge GREEN salad with measured dressing and a whole wheat roll. But No! I had to have a serving that was at least double my normal serving, the caesar salad and two pieces of cheese toast! And then I had apple crumble and ice cream for desert! Needless to say I feel like crap and have been beating myself up big time. This morning the scale said 207! I was 100% on plan yesterday, but still...I'm hoping it's partially water weight as it is TOM.
This is the first time that I've eater off plan and really felt bad about it. I think it's because I had the option to eat a better meal and then for the scale to go up...it's the first time that's happened. I've been really good and the few times I felt like having a treat I didn't beat myself up over it...maybe it's just the hormones that are makine me crazy. It's the first time that during TOM I felt almost like I couldn't control it...I didn't like that feeling. I was so close to Onederland and I just need a kick in the butt so that I can stay on track.
We're finally picked June 1, 2008 for our wedding and that means that I have less than 10 months to reach goal (less actually because I'll have to start looking for a dress at least a few months in advance!). I also havent' been to the gym in over a week! I have to get back at it!
I hope everyone has a terrific day!
Cheers, Tamara
Tamara,
Cheer up I am the same way. I fell off the wagon this weekend which I have not done before and I spent 2 days beating myself up about it. After the 3rd. say I was like ok, I did it and it's over and now am back on. I drank a lot of extra water and hope that helps on weigh day (saturday)
I am sure those scales will tip back down in no time!
Tiffanie
Tam: Hey girl. Don't sweat it. If you stay on plan today and drink at least 40 extra ounces of water to combat the excess water from the "flow of nature..." you will wake up tomorrow and find that you are not only back down the weight you gained, but will have dropped a bit lower than that. If you stay on task 98% of the time and then go off once in awhile-it actually will work to your advantage! Seriously...because it will shock your system. I think this is a good thing...so don't phreak out. Honestly, it didn't sound to me like you ate THAT much over your norm....so quit worrying!
With that said, obviously remember to keep the "cheat days" to your 2% and you'll be golden...and YOU WILL MAKE THAT GOAL BY WEDDING BELL TIME BABY!
Hello Everyone!! We have been busy around here. I had let the house go for a couple of weeks and really humped it to get things straightened up. DH was gone for a couple of days so I used the excuse that he needed to come home to a clean house to motivate myself! LOL. Tomorrow is his birthday and we are having his mom and aunt over for dinner. So, I'm trying to keep the house clean. Not easy with two kids who want to drag out every toy and pour juice all over the floor!
Good news here, DH has been offered a new job. It's a little more money, free health insurance until Jan and more interesting work. He is going to take it. I'm happy for him, he's been bored for awhile at his current job.
MO: Get some sleep girl!
Lauren: How are things with the house?
RR: Belated Happy Birthday!! I hope it was a wonderful day for you.
GG: Glad the training has been good! The food sounds great!
Hanna: Your Cheesecake Factory outing sounds wonderful. There's one right down the street from me. I try to forget that it's there! I love their cheesecake. The food I can take or leave, but oh that cheesecake!!
Newbies: WELCOME!! We are so glad to have you here.
OK, gotta go. Little madam needs me. She's cutting two new teeth so I've been lucky to have this long when she wasn't unhappy!
Karen, that's good motivation! I'm sure Jim would love it if I cleaned everyday just for him!
Things with the house are moving along! We close on 8/23!! Everything is all set, just have to find out from the attorneys/realtors about the time & details for closing day. No, I haven't started packing yet! DH told me not to...really. He said that since we're taking our time moving, just wait and we'll pack some boxes, take them over, find a home for the stuff, then start again. This way everything has a home. Sounds good to me, because I certainly need to be more organized!
Did I already ask you all for bathroom opinions? My main bathroom is pink...pepto, 1956 pink, with gray trim! uke: Since we cannot afford to remodel right away, it's probably a few years down the road, I have to learn to live with it. I think the floor is gray, or gray & pink tile, and the pink tile goes 1/2 way up the wall. So, how do I decorate. I've read articles that say to embrace the pink and decorate with more pink, but I can't stand the though. Even the sink, toilet and bath tub are pink! I don't like gray either, so I don't want to go that route. I've read a little about the tile refinishing, but most reviews were not good. Someone suggested just getting a white curtain for the window, white shower curtain, and white towels (just for show), and paint the upper part of the walls white. Hoping that will neutralize a bit. What do you think?
Tamara, congrats on picking a date! Don't beat yourself up over falling off the wagon. Hey, it was the first time!! Make it the last!
MO, You start work at 6:30?! Everyday?? That's insane!! Congrats on the 12 pound mark!!
Lauren paint the walls white and go to home depot and look for peel and stick tile flooring its cheep and come in all kinds of colors. I do marble or white and black checker. Add some either metal old time signs with like coke or Pepsi or Elvis or 57 Chevy or whatever. An maybe a small neon sign. Get a cloth shower curtain either white or pink and put a poodle in one corner like the old time skirts had. The contrast should break everything up nicely and give a theme to it that will spark conversions.
Lauren, I know you will think I have awful taste, but the pink sounds so cute to me. Of course I don't know if I would want my main bathroom to be pink. I say to accent in in black and gunmetal and make it funky. It's funny my grandmas house(where I grew up) has avacado colored tiles, they have never remodeled. I have hated those tiles all my life. Last year I was thinking of moving into the same neighborhood. Guess what all the houses used all the same materials. Anyways, the house I looked at had the same color tiles, but they made it look really good. So it can be done. By the way are you selling the house you live in now?
Tamara, congrats on the wedding and all, I could sware you were already married. I'm sure you will get back on track, don't beat yourself up.
I see the Cheescake factory has caused quite a stir. I have never been able to order a dessert there because I am always so full from their HUGE dinners. My daughter and I decided if we go back to share and entree so we can share a dessert.
GG- We have lap tops and I would NEVER go back to the desktop. I can take my computer anywhere in the house. Also lots of restraunts like Panera or Starbucks offer FREE wireless connections.
Hey to everyone else. Have a great day!!!! or evening
Alicia
Evening Ladies and Gents,
It was another hot one in Ohio today. It got to 100 degrees. So we packed up the kiddos and headed to my mil's for the day. It is kind of nice to sit in an a/c house away from the heat. It is cooling off nicely now since we are getting thunderstorms rolling in.
Tamara, congrats on the wedding date. You will be fine and get back on that wagon. You will make a beautiful bride on your special day!
MO glad you got some sleep last night. Hope it keeps up for you.
Lauren, what you don't want the big fuzzy pink throw rugs and pink accents to go with you bathroom? LOL my grandma's bathroom is like that with mint green tiles thrown in for good measure. I like Alicia's and John's ideas. Hope you figure out something that you will like.
Karen glad you got your house cleaned. So how is the little madam this evening with her cutting teeth? I know that we have let the house go several times this summer and then it just seems so much harder to clean. Doesn't it? Enjoy your guests tomorrow evening!
RR Happy belated Birthday. Did you enjoy your special day? So how much longer will you have to do OT?
John hope you are drinking lots of water while you are out in this heat.
Tiffanie I hope you have a good weigh in come Saturday. I know what you mean. I went to my weigh in on Tuesday night and gained 4 3/4 pounds. I think mine was from not getting enough water and water retention.
HI to Shelia, Hanna and everyone else. Hope you are all staying cool!
Take care,
Kerry
Lauren I totally agree with going with black or maybe soften it up some and do a dark chocolate brown that looks very nice. You can even get you a woodsy smelling brown candle to go in the bathroom. With having pink and dark choc brown you can accent it with some blue or maroon, I love to decorate like that. I think pink choc brown and even a deep spanish yellow would look very nice, just a touch. You can do alot with pink just work with it.
