Post 30 Something Weekend: March 10 & 11

Wow, I can't talk much today, getting ready for a baby shower. My cousin is having the first grandbaby of my aunt and uncle's ~ so you know it is going to be a big one.

Will check back in later.

Thanks for being here and listening to me yesterday, I did appreciate it!

Hi Lisa - enjoy the baby shower. First grandchild - definitely going to receive a lot of love & attention.

I went to the gym yesterday late afternoon with my exercise buddy. So glad she 's here. I weighed myself there and was 173.5 but that was after a big eat. My body feels like it's lost more - my waist is an inch smaller and that's with bloating (I know, lovely image!).

Went to bikram's yoga this morning and feel really good. Set out my exercise goal for the next 5 weeks: bikram's 3x a week, exercise 1x a week. From there my friend and I will increase to bikram's 3x a week, exercise 2x a week.

Cheers,
Allison

Hi All,

Sorry I didn't get on here last night..evenings are rough, and I'm in school 8:30-1:30 on Saturday's.

Allison, I LOVE TCBY chocolate sorbet bars. We used to get a big box at BJ's. I think they are 1 pt. on WW. They are soo chocolately, you would not know they are not real icecream. They do it for the chocolate craving as well as the icecream craving. (icecream is my vice!)

I definitely know I'm PMS'ing, because I bought a bag of Chex Mix at school this AM. I brought a Lean Cuisine with me, because I know they have a microwave, but forgot a fork. I only eat salty stuff when I'm PMS'ing, I'm soo not a "salt" person.

Molly, Yeah, Gina, she rocked! I hear ya' on the fat girl thing, I mean, LaKisha is awesome, but I think I little part of me likes her because of the fat girl thing. Like Mandisa last year!

Joan, I'm guessing I was into the eggs because of PMS. I mean the week before the kisses didn't bother me?! There's something wrong with people that don't like chocolate. I have a girl friend that doesn't like chocolate. She's weird. My mom and my Gran don't prefer it, but don't hate it...my friend does.

Have a great day all!

Hi Ladies,

I'm new to the forum and have been taking aerobic yoga and it has been fun. I get my heart rate up and work on my flexibility. I have been going for a week but yesterday I went and they had already started. I didn't stretch like i usually do, and now my ankle and knee hurt. I learned that no matter if they already started I have to stretch first. i also couldn't do all of the positions even though 3 times before I was able to. I can only atribute it to not stretching. Anyone ever feel this way? Well instead of going out I decided to stay home and clean. I feel stressed when the house is covered in clutter, and I make excuses not to exercise because I should be cleaning or doing laundry. So I decided to put clothes away, vacuum and now hit the dishes. Where I am living, i don't have a washer/dryer and a small sink but no dishwasher. The dishwasher I can live without because even when I had one I never used it. too much electricity, but I hate going to the laundromat. I always wait until I have 10 lbs of it and then have to spend all day in the laundromat fighting for washers. I absolutely hate it. Any suggestions on how to deal with the laundromat? I hate having it as a crutch against doing anything for myself.

Thanks for listening.

Hi Luna Belle! Can't help you much on the laundromat. I had to use one for a year when I first got married. We used the one in our building at the time and it wasn't soo bad, except for the inconvenience. Maybe find a different, bigger one? I would LOVE to have a dishwasher!!

Hi all!

Saturday evening and all is quiet on this end... DH is coming down with a cold and all three kids are dreaming of sugarplums:-). I'm so tired this evening and won't be far behind them.

Allison ~ your goals are *very* realistic. Good for you! It's amazing how much better I feel ~physically & mentally ~ after exercising.

Lauren ~ I know how chaotic evenings can be... I never even attempt to get on the computer until everyone is tucked in for the night. I'm not a salt person either, unless I'm on my period. Sweets are a whole 'nother story... I can't imagine going an entire day w/o something sweet to eat. I took a really nice hike this afternoon at a local nature reserve ~ all by myself! My hubby is so wonderful and was practically pushing me out the door. He is always encouraging me to take more time for myself. Just having that little bit of time to myself is soooooo refreshing!

Luna Belle ~ Ideally, I like to exercise first thing in the morning. It sets my whole day off on a much better note. However, my body is "creaky" and I've noticed that when I wait an hour or so to exercise, I move a lot faster. Stretching beforehand helps out a lot but ~ this sounds so bad ~ I hate taking the time to do it! I know that sounds terrible but it's hard enough to get up at 5:30 a.m. to exercise, much less take the extra 10 - 15 minutes to stretch.

Regarding the laundromat, can you do your laundry during the week at all? I had to use a laundromat when I was single and I HATED it too! Going on a Saturday was a total nightmare. I tried to hit it on a Monday or Tuesday evening.

Have a good weekend everyone! We have our first Open House tomorrow ... I'm excited because a lot of people are interested. We've had showings every day this past week. I'm also feeling a little apprehensive as the neighbor across the street is PSYCHO and she'll be here for it. I don't know that for sure but she is incredibly nosy and it would shocking if she didn't come by. I just hope that she doesn't scare off a potential buyer. I feel sorry for her as she obviously has a mental problem. I also want her to stay the **** away from my house:-). Later ~ Joan

I'm laughing as I thought that I was the only one left in the world that doesn't have a dishwasher!! An updated kitchen is a must in our new home!

Okay so I know that this is a little off topic, but I had an idea and needed some objective people to bounce it off of. (I promise it won't hurt.)

I have an idea to open my own business. (I have a BA in Business Management and Marketing.) Have you ever watched the shows Clean Sweep on TLC or Mission Organization on HGTV?

I was thinking of starting a business in the Toledo area with some of those same qualities. I would be a professional organizer, and help those who needed help. I am sure that there are plenty of people in my area who need that. (Whatcha think Molly?)

I have started on one aspect of my Business Plan already and I know that I have to do more research, but I am thinking that I could pull it off. I don't know of another business around here that does this.

Any advice or comments would be greatly appriciated.

Lisa

Default Hi!

I'm new to this forum, although I've posted a little in the featherweights and veggie groups.

I just got back from the gym. I did 60 mins. aerobic and then abs and butt. I'm psyched about the 60 min. I've only been doing 30.

Laundromats are the worse! My mom always used one. She never wanted a washer and dryer! I had to use one in college. There's always strange people in laundromats. I was actually accosted by someone in one...nothing serious, but still alarming! Can you go really early in the morning during the week? I'd think that would be the best time. Hard to do if you have kids...

Lisa, do you want to fly to Northern VA and organize for me?

Lisa, I would so hire you! I'm so bad at organizing! I have piles of junk all over the place. Let me know when you start this. I'd love to be your first client!

Lauren, I liked Mandisa last year too. I swear she got voted off cause of the fat factor. Fat women are not looked kindly upon in society. If you aren't a size 2 forget it! I just heard that the average woman is a size 12-14. I'm just into a 14 (mostly, some clothes run smaller). So why aren't the size 2's ostricised? Why is it me?

OK I'm done whining. I guess I'm just tired and cranky. lol

Milagro, the tickers are hiding under the User CP (far left of the header) and then under the signatures.

Thanks Molly I will keep that in mind.

flitter! Congrats on the 60 min of exersize, that's awesome ~ just dont overdo it. I think Northern VA is a little far for right now.

At least I know that there is some interest in this. Feel free to keep the comments coming.

Lisa

Lisa, you can start with your first client right here in NJ!! It will give you TONS of experience...I NEED HELP! I think it's a great idea. In fact, not that long ago I had considered contacting Clean Sweep, but I think the show is off the air...or at least not doing any new shows.
