Default 30 Something's: Weekend, January 20/21

Hey all you strangers.

I know, I know....it's been a while since I posted. Almost 2 weeks I think. I just haven't hard the time/been in the mood/enter your favorite excuse here so I haven't been posting. Anyway, whatever. I had a little time this morning and am in the right mood (and the moon is in alignment with Jupiter ) so what the heck, I'll jot down some words.

to all our newcomers. I'm sure that you'll find the support you need from this crowd. I know that even just reading the postings keeps my spirits up. (So, a big shout out to everyone who's out there lurking. We know you're there. )

I managed to get my first "goal" checked off my list of "40 things" this past week and another is about 9/10 complete.

First, I actually - for the first time in like 15 years - went for a physical with my doctor. I've been to see him for "specific" things, but never for a general exam. So, he sent me off for a bunch of tests (ECG, X-ray, blood work) which I had completed this past week -- so now I'm into the waiting game for the results. A little stressful, but who knows. I do have a (strong) family history of diabetes, so the question is really how early in life will I be affected. (My parents weren't diagnosed until their 60's, my sister in her 20's.) On the plus, my blood pressure is good. Must not have been a stressful day at work.

Second, I painted some pottery. (Never done it before & am not the most artistic person...) There's a place about a block or two from work that lets you buy pre-made ceramic stuff and then paint them. I did a vase for my wife for V-Day (sssh! Don't tell her.) Took a couple hours to paint it, but I'm (mostly) pleased with the results. I'm gonna post a picture on the "43 things" website when I get it back, hopefully next week.

Enough about that. :P So, I'm obsessing a little bit over my "40 things" list, so just deal, eh? Oh well, it keeps me busy and focused, and I think that's good.

On the weight front, it's slow going but things are going well. I think I'm even starting to feel my appetite starting to shrink - and this is a new thing. I'm even trying to drink more water these days - keeping 500ml bottles at my desk - but unless I'm conscious about it, I don't drink. It's a little frustrating that I get so focused on work that I forget - but they're paying me to work, and not drink water...

Okay, this is long enough. I don't want to put too many people back to sleep this weekend. and all around.

Stay strong, stay focused, and stay on program.

Hi All,

RX, Welcome back...thanks for gracing us with your presence! You know what, having something to obsess about is probably a good thing! Keeps your mind off food, maybe? I know it kind of works for me. Along the same lines as you, I have noticed my appetite is different too. Yesterday was a really stressful day here with my no-nap-no-break-taking boys and I realized at dinner time that I really was not all that hungry. Normally I'm a total emotional/stress eater. I did eventually eat, but it was just a little something I noticed.

Have a great day all!

Default Evening all!

Hi everyone. Hope you are all having a great weekend.
Weigh in went well today....lost 4.8lbs this week with my first week on Weight Watchers, so I was more than happy with that. I know it will slow down, but it certainly motivates you to keep going!

Went shopping with the hubby and boys today. Of course I couldn't get what we needed...diapers..so tomorrow after church, I will have to go and do some more shopping. But today I did pick up myself a new pair of sneakers. I haven't bought myself anything in so long....it was long overdue.

Well off to sit down with a cup of tea and relax for a little while until its time to get the kids off to bed.
Have a great night everyone!

Anne

2 posts in 2 days - I might be on a roll.

Actually, I'm kinda scared to get on the scale today. I binged yesterday - and this is after being SO good for SO long. Chocolate, Chips (and not just a bit either ) to "reward" myself for doing so well. Not quite the type of reward I should be going for, but...what's done is done.

I realized today that if I follow my "plan" and actually stay where I should be (10 lbs every 3 months) that by the time I go to my cousin's wedding this June, I could very well be below the 200 mark. Of course, not if I keep into the chocolate and chips.

Looks to be a nice day out today, though I have a full plate already. Church in a couple of hours, followed by an afternoon of (board) gaming with the guys. Of course, while that means I won't be home to forage, I'm sure there will be none-too-good snackies during the gaming session. Oh grant me the strength to not over-indulge. Again.

Anyway, take care everyone. Hope you're enjoying your weekend.
& all around - to friends posting, missing and just plain lurking .

Stay strong, stay focused, and stay on program.

Morning everyone! I have been really good this weekend! I've been eating good things and making good choices! Imagine that huh?

Anne, I have to say a special Hi to you! That's my name too. My real name is Anne Marie. My mom liked both names and we're Catholic so she went with Anne Marie and I've always gone by Molly (it can be used as a nickname for Marie). Anyway, you don't see the name Anne much and certainly not with an "e"! I get called Anna and Annie caue people don't realize the "e" is silent. LOL OK Now that I totally rambled...lol (I tend to do that from time to time)

Anyway, I hope you are all having a good weekend. Hi to all my homie-g's (learned that from my dd) Where are you all?????

Hello all, I was visiting grandparents yesterday. We ended up having burger king (#1 Combo w/ cheese, no onion, xtra pickles) I have been craving it for several days and boy did it taste GOOD!

I lost another lb. this week and considering the BK and the fact that I have a visitor - I feel pretty good about that! (Not the visitor )

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend.
