Truly healthy muffins (Trader Joe's)
So today I was at Trader Joe's and I was in the bread section when I noticed a sign about their Apple Cranberry bran muffins so I decide to look. The muffins are small but each had 80 calories and the ingredients looked awesome. I love bran muffins more than any other muffin and I generally don't eat muffins because of the high calorie content. Even the regular Trader Joe's muffins have 220 calories each.
In the 80 calories, they have 13g of fiber and 5g of protein.
Of course the question is how do they taste?
To be honest they are a little dry so I decided to microwave it and top it with warmed previously frozen berries. It was good and a nice little healthy treat.

Oh, I love those. They are a bit dry, but you toast them up and...mmm.

I'll have to walk over there tomorrow and check those out. I wonder if they will give out samples.

The "Blueberry Bran" one is my favorite...the apple cranberry is good too, but the blueberry seemed moister.

Proceed with caution-- those muffins gave me serious GI distress, and I regularly eat TONS of fruits, veggies, nuts, beans etc
They were really tasty, though!

I believe it is more likely that the bran is the culprit for your GI Distress.

I actually ate 2 and no issues. I also eat a normally very high fiber diet so it wasn't an unusual amount of fiber for me.

Oh man, I *love* those. I bought them once when I was traveling to DC regularly. I wish I had a Trader Joe's near me so that I could buy them more...
