I've done the dieting for 10 years now, but for the first time I'm actually inspired. Today was the official start of my new diet and for the first time I feel like I can do it.
I have PCOS, so I'm doing the insulin resistance diet, and I read the book cover to cover on Friday as soon as I got it. It made so much sense to me. I spent an entire summer on WW two years ago and lost nothing - because of my insulin resistance.
I hope you all don't mind if I hang out here and chat with you all. You all seem more talkative than the PCOS board.
The IR diet is good stuff. You might also cross-read about the South Beach diet, which contains many of the same principles. There's lots of recipes and such in the SB forums that may help you out, too.
I wouldn't call myself strictly either an IR dieter or an SB dieter anymore, but my plan is still based in part on what I learned through those books. The concepts of linking and limiting quantities of carbs at any one meal are especially helpful to me.
I went to the grocery store last night and was buying so many different kinds of food that I don't usually buy that at one point I didn't recognize my own cart!!!

That happened to me also on my first shop - I actually started filling someone elses - I was so embarrassed!
