Default Hi, My Name Is Nancy And I'm A Food Addict!

There I've said it. Now where is my 12 step plan to fix the darn problem!?! Oh, how about I go back and read my post op eating plan for life, one of the thousand of books I've gotten about WLS, one of the thousand of diet philosophy books, look at my old fatty pictures, read my accountability card....Nope it's not working. I'm being sarcastic of course, but need to go back to the beginning again......logging and weighing, scheduling my meals, and eating simple things. How hard can that be!!!!!???!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm mad because I eat every 2 1/2 to 3 hours, my life still revolves around food and I am a food addict.

I have a wonderful life, I'm ALIVE, I love life, but just feel like I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop. I've got some work to do on my life and myself because I'm not going back to where I was!!!

There is such a thing as overeaters anonymous. It really helped me with accountability in the past. I bet there is a chapter in your area. You look great to me but I always need to have someone to be accountable to.

Let me pass on what my OA sponser told me over and over when I was feeling sad, angry, frustrated or felt bad about overeating...she said, "This too shall pass!" Being the humans we are, we make mistakes...they make us feel horrid but these feelings can and will end. Now, forgive and start again! We all deserve that best you know!

OA changed me in a very good way and the 12 steps saved me from myself in more ways then just overeating...I let go of other addictions as well. And it started me on the path of the counseling that I sooo needed when I hit a wall that the 12 steps couldn't help me with.

If you feel the need to go and talk about weight issues, they are good about that. If you need to find recovery by listening and helping others, they are great for that. Google Overeaters Anonymous, there is a website that will give you phone #'s and the where and when of meetings. They don't have all the answers but there are a great support for additive people.

Good luck, honey and reaching out is never the wrong idea!

Angela
